People forget that Lose Yourself and some of his other most loved songs are "Rap-Rock." That style in general isn't the problem, it's just the way he's doing it right now that is.
Ay, such an inspirational, amazing track, with good flow, lyrics that are deep and at the same time enjoyable, a great mashup that made Rock fans respect this version, even using such a legendary song like Dream on as sample.
Maybe when he does rock samples, they should be more serious. SFTM and Lose Yourself. The problem is that a lot of the rock samples are some roudy jams that sound like they are purposefully ironic, like on So Far and Remind Me, the others are bombastic melodramas with super noisy guitars and drums, such as Survival. SFTM, Lose Yourself, Till I collapse, show how to use rock with subtlety.
Listening to this after listening to Revival is like eating a piece of your favorite cake after you've been forced to eat broccoli for four years.

I fully agree. I'm on my third listen pulling up to work. This shit is trash. Just listened to offended again. I guess it was supposed to be like rap god. It falls short for me because of his delivery. He delivers like mac lethal. Everyone blames the features and beats. Beats are decent and his features are almost saving these songs. Everyone loves framed. Would be awesome but his hook kills it for me. It's fucking lame. No wonder he has so many features, if that's the best hook he can come up with. And everybody is praising the last 2 tracks. They are okay. Better than most of the songs but that doesn't make it great. I love the emotions and storytellinf but it's just okay, mostly because almost everything before it is trash. Chloraplasic is bitting on everything I hate about modern rap. It could have been a banger but he brings in the style of mumble rap without mumbling if that makes any sense. I loved bad husband though, that's my jam.
I find the rap rock to be far less offensive than the ridiculously long and boring pop hooks. That X-Ambassador hooks is just painful, and why the fuck is Pink singing for 1:45 before anything interesting happens? Shit I will take a bad I love Rock and Roll sample anyday over that shit. I don't know how anyone can complain about his delivery though, I thought is rapping and flow to be strong throughout the project.
I like the songs just fine. Obviously not as good as lose yourself or sing for the moment but then again what songs are lol his old stuff is legend status when he was in his prime
Remind Me and Heat are amazing you all high
