good evening everyone and welcome to stampin chat i am gina from gina k designs and i'm so excited to see all of you here this evening tonight we are going to play with embossing powder and i thought it would be fun to try an ombre technique or a multi-tone technique now i have two different ways i like to do this and i hope i have enough time to get them both done so i'll try to keep my talking and chatting to a minimum i just wanted to say that i hope you all are having a great week hope you had a great weekend it's a monday all over uh but today was a pretty good day and um i actually went to ulta if you've ever never gone to ulta i had to pick up a couple gifts so i was all masked up and i went in there and i went to ulta and that is just a makeup wonderland oh my goodness they have everything they don't let you use testers or anything right now which is probably really good um but it was really fun to just run into a place and not be in my house even if it was only for a few minutes just to grab a couple of gift cards so i hope that you guys had a great day and that you're ready to do some crafting tonight now i wanted to show you something so we could go to the overhead a lot of you have asked me about my um let me let me zoom out just a little bit about my uh medical id bracelet and you were concerned because i wasn't wearing it well i got a new one and i wanted to show it to you so these bracelets i get my medical id bracelets from lauren's hope and i really like them let me show you my other one this is the one i used to wear it broke and there's all the beads i kept all the beads because they're all sterling silver and i thought maybe i could send it back in and they could fix it i think they repair but i decided i needed a new one so i got this one and it's all sterling silver and somebody was asking where the medical id part is and it's right here and they do all the engraving on the inside of that so my other one was bigger and it used to flip all the time and this one i got made a little bit smaller and i really like it and i know a lot of you are interested in these so i think what i'll do is i'll just drop my link in the description over on youtube so if you are interested in finding these um you can find them and they're really cool you only need one tag and they they actually come apart here with two little hooks so you can get all different kinds you can get glittery ones like this or you can get a little leather one for casual and you just switch the bracelets out and you use the same tag so i wanted to show you for those of you that have sent me so many private messages worrying about me not having my medical id bracelet i have it back now i'm wearing it i'm all good all right so tonight we are going to i'm going to stop using this set i promise i think i said that in the last video that i wasn't going to use this set anymore but i can't help it i want to use this set for tonight's technique because i think it's going to be really fun to use and then i promise i will move on to other stamp sets but uh holiday tapestry is i would say is the gina k designs set of 20 20 from the kit this is one of the most love sets that we have ever come up with so i'm excited to use it one more time and i don't know if you remember what my stamp looked like but it was pretty bad it was covered with embossing ink and what i did was i just took it over to my kitchen sink with a little bit of warm water a toothbrush and some dish soap and i just scrubbed it on both sides and now it's nice and sticky again so that's all you have to do if your stamps lose their stick just take an old toothbrush a little bit of dawn dishwashing detergent or anything and scrub it really well rinse it with warm water pat it dry and it'll be just like new okay so tonight i'm going to do um a slimline card so i have a piece of card stock here that measures let me let me back out a little bit here sorry about that okay so this measures eight and three quarters of an inch by three and three quarters of an inch i had to check it so eight and three quarters of an inch by three and three quarters of an inch and then my card base is a it's nine inches by eight inches so and then i scored it on the four inch mark so this is the eight inch side and this is the nine inch side i scored it at four inches and that makes the perfect layer for your slimline cards okay just in case you linda said tom you might want to ask santa for a new toothbrush linda you're on to me okay so i'm going to stamp this using my misti now when you've got a huge piece of cardstock like this that barely fits in the misti in fact it doesn't fit in the misti it's going to stick out at the ends it doesn't matter the that won't uh cause any problems down here at the bottom what you but what you're gonna do with a stamp like this and i've said this before but if you're new to my show um you may not have seen this technique before so what i'm going to do is i'm going to take a little bit of dot runner our dot runners and refills are back in stock by the way yay and i'm just going to put a little bit on the back there and then i'm going to place this piece of card stock just along one of the lines it doesn't have to be perfect but this allows you to put that stamp outside of the piece of cardstock if you had this butted up against here you would be outside of the rim of the misti and you would not be able to stamp it so just use a little bit of tape on there and then i've done this layout before but i think this is a great stamp and a great layout for a slimline card so i'm going to use this layout but instead of doing it on red card stock or something like that i'm doing it on the gina k designs layering weight white now i'm going to use my embossing magic pad and just get rid of all of my lotion oh and i have to tell you guys about a new lotion that i found oh my goodness uh give me a minute i've got to brace myself to explain this to you what it is um it's a i found a korean skincare website called soco glam actually rina turned me on to it and i bought a uh skin care that's it's snail mucin it's slimy all right i'm going to use the gina k designs embossing and watermark pad so anyway i heard all about this snail lotion and i was really really skeptical but i started using it just about four days ago and i can't believe how much i love it i love it and their skincare isn't even that expensive like you know when you go to the fancy counters at the department stores so snail skin care hopefully next time you guys see me i'll look like i'm 23 for my snail skincare okay so i'm gonna use my chucky tool to press this here and i'm if you've never seen the chucky tool before my friend chuck meadows made this for me it is a curtain finial and a furniture protector pad and he glued it together with gorilla glue and it makes it really easy for me to make great contact on my paper because i do have arthritis i don't think the snail slime is gonna help with that but you can only look a little younger you can't actually feel younger but that's all right i'll take it i'll take what i can get okay now i have two pieces of cardstock here and i'm gonna use two different embossing powders for this so we're gonna do an ombre mix of fine detail gold and fine detail silver i think i'll put the silver with the gray piece so let's get this out of here now i'm gonna do one side at a time all right we'll start with the gold so what i'm gonna do is i am can't see a thing here but i'm gonna just do a little bit here a little bit over here and some here and maybe a little down here we'll see what that does okay all right try that again maybe i didn't use enough i was too busy talking about my i was too busy talking about my slime let's redo that all right we're going to do it one more time i have another one ready to go here so we'll put a little bit of tape on there and we'll get it on here is that where i put it let's see if that will work oh yep that will work okay i think i need more um less less snail slime and more embossing ink i actually have been embossing so much you can see this is all the gold powder i have left there's not that much left and i've been embossing christmas cards like crazy so i think my embossing ink might be a little dry so let me see maybe i'll grab my versamark pad and add a little of that into it just to make sure i have enough ink on here i need to pick up a reinker tom can you write that down so i don't forget an embossing and watermark ink re-inker because my pad's dry your snail slime is not getting my snail slime right okay tom is if you could see the horrific look on his face about my snail slime yeah it's really good skincare though okay let's see if this works better there we go i can see it now okay we'll start with the gold and we'll put a little bit of gold here [Music] oh yeah there we go a little bit over here a little bit down here okay it's hard when you're just trying to spot emboss and now i'm going to use the silver i am absolutely in love with this two-tone look so you can go all over it with the silver now it looks kind of weird before you actually emboss it it doesn't really look very good but man once you once you heat it this way if there's any missing anywhere i just kind of dump it everywhere just so that like i captured a little bit of the ends right here in silver and it really looks it looks really cool when parts of the design are one color and parts are the other color okay so let me heat up my embossing tool [Applause] i like to heat it up first especially when i am working with a um a layering weight card stock i'm going to grab a watercolor brush here i see a little thing right there that i don't like there we go okay all righty [Applause] here we go and i really like this um gold and silver on white i tried it earlier on red and on plum and it looked really nice but tom made the suggestion tom had input today he made the suggestion that i make this card on white tonight but i haven't done any of the gold and silver using white so i agree and i think it's pretty it really does show the mix better all right you don't want to burn your embossing powder look at how cool that is isn't that pretty oh i love the mix okay so now i'm going to flip this around and i'm going to put it in just about the same spot and i can tell because a little bit of it peeled off on the back but that's okay so i'm going to put it right about there and then i'm not going to completely put my stamp down but i want to see if it's going to work yes that is going to work okay so now once again i'm going to use a little bit of the embossing magic i don't have to reposition my stamp which is really nice i can just match it up on the other side and i'm putting my embossing powder away here so i can start again and now i get the feeling when i get to work debbie and natalie are both going to have a brand new embossing ink pad ready for me all right nothing's worse than when you have a dried out ink pad gotta get those reinkers i always forget to get the reinker i have some colors but i don't have them all and i really should all right so again i'm gonna use my chucky tool for this oh tom you're right this color combination on white looks great we gotta get tom stamping again you guys want to see tom back doing some more really yeah he should definitely get back on the show okay we're gonna start with the gold again and you don't have to do them in the same places just kind of like that three point thing you know where you do like three little spots okay and then we'll do a lot more silver that looks pretty good how did that not work there we go okay i'm gonna put some down here too so just the little edges and i always take pictures and i post them in our facebook group and last week i did post um the pictures on uh youtube in our community so i hope you guys were able to see the picture that i posted there so if you're just watching on youtube and you don't do facebook i totally get it um we uh i found a way to get the pictures over there by posting them in the community so hopefully you see it tom and gina doing a alive together we got to do it tom okay so now i'm going to do the other side oh i love that oh it's all mixed together there oh yeah that's so pretty some of it like just blended completely together and it's like you can't even tell the line it just looks like gold and silver like platinum almost in certain areas oh yeah that's really cool [Applause] there we go okay so there's that side okay so now oh i love that so what do you guys think of this gold card base you think that's going to be a nice card based color i think that'll look really good we could use silver but i think the gold just gives it that little extra since this one's gonna be a holiday card we'll do it as a holiday card all right okay so i'm gonna put that aside and then i think i'm going to add a little more interest here with this little strip now this strip is cut to three and three-quarter inches and then it is that's terrible trying to see what that is let me look over here that is one and a little more than a half i don't know what i was thinking okay i'm not going to use that one i'll use this one so this is one and a quarter and then this is one and three eighths so this is a skinny little border here but i'm going to put that across here and then i'm going to add a greeting circle on there okay so again this is kind of kind of sticky still i think i could probably put this right here let's see yeah that'll work all right so we're gonna put a little bit of embossing magic on there and again we're gonna ink this up now i'm inking up most of it because i don't know exactly where it's going to land so i want to make sure that i don't have any bald spots on it [Music] this card stock is just the 80 pound layering weight i don't know if i got all that up there okay this is the 80 pound layering weight wipe that i'm working on okay there we go now this i'm definitely going to need my clothes pin there we go i'm going to use that and then i have to be a little bit careful here because it would be very easy to just glob the um let's see if i can just touch it like that glob the embossing powder all in one spot too much okay i almost poured my silver powder right over the gold well if you do that you've got a new metallic mix there we go all right i'm gonna grab this so i can blow the excess away okay so for this one i am not a fan of the clothes pin i think what i need here if i can find it quickly is my tweezers i generally don't like to use tweezers very much when i'm embossing because it's metal you know and as you heat metal it travels up the metal but i'm going to be careful i'd prefer to use the wood but we're going to do it this way because there's a lot going on on this piece so now i don't know if you have any of our other colors of embossing powder but you can do this with rose gold you can do this with any of them copper and you guys probably have embossing powders in your collection that aren't gina k embossing powder so you can mix and match with whatever you want okay so there we go there's the little strip there we go okay and then i'm going to take my tiny towel and just clean some of this embossing powder off of here and i know that sounds like a mess but i actually throw my tidy towel in my washer all the time i don't know if you guys ever do that but it does work so and i have like five tiny towels so i i'm a big tidy towel fan so if i do that with one i have another ready to go okay so now it's time to do a greeting and obviously we have to do the greeting in gold or silver so i think i'm gonna choose gold since that's the color of my card base uh we do sell kits we don't have one right now this stamp set happened to be from our last holiday kit it's now available without being in a kit all right so this stamp set i don't think so i it might be but i don't think so because i ordered so many of them um but maybe somebody knows that's better than me so should i go with the merry christmas and happy new year i need a couple more holiday cards maybe i'll just do merry christmas and maybe a flourish on there why don't i do that i'll do this one just the big merry christmas so i'm gonna stamp it i'm not gonna worry about cutting it cutting the circle out and then stamping it i am going to uh stamp it first and then cut it all right we'll use a little versamark again we're going to have time to do the second card oh i'm so happy oh it's out of stock jan i'm sorry wow that surprises me that was a lot of this stamp set well we will definitely get it ordered asap and um might already be ordered i'll check into it okay so i'm gonna do this in two steps i'm going to i could mix i could do the greeting in gold and then the flourish in silver why don't i do that a little flourish design that i'll add okay i will do that we'll do a mix and match here too i need a gold embossing powder can you add that to the list too all right so we'll do this first my second card will not be a christmas card i don't know about you guys but it's getting kind of close now so these are more for things that will either be dropped off on doorsteps or given on christmas morning to my children okay so now i'm going to put my magnet down here and then i'm going to put a little tape right there just to hold that in place so now this is this is something that you want to keep in mind if you're going to cut something out first of all don't use a metal die right close to a metal magnet but if you're going to cut something out with a circle you want to position your stamp with the die in place that's the best way to know whether or not you're going to have a problem so i'm going to use this little stamp right here you know you don't want to make it too big where then you can't cut it with the die that you intended to cut it with okay i'm going to use that because that kind of feels like it would mix really well with the rest of this design okay there we go now i don't need the die on for this part but i know it's going to cut out okay so i am i don't think i've used this stamp yet so i might have to condition it a little we'll see what happens versamark is a great way to condition your stamps embossing ink in general is just a great way to do that okay i think that's going to be good we'll see what happens we're going to go with the silver okay it's like almost like a little flourishy smile all right let me put this back because we are going to be done with the gold and silver i do i use dawn dish detergent to clean my stamps i also use um what's the one that we have in there right now tom the myers oh tom's going in the kitchen i think it's myers clean day is that what that's called he's gonna go and look am i right meyer's clean day yeah i mean any dish soap will work i just don't use something that has like lotion in it okay i'm gonna put this misty aside and i'm going to get my die cutting machine let me close up my embossing powders i already have embossing powder everywhere but i always do when i emboss so that's just a me problem not a you problem all right let's back up a little okay and then i'll get my plates and we're going to cut this out with this die now this die is from our master layouts 3 die set i like this one it's much smaller circles than what's in our stitched circle set and double stitch circle set so sometimes you just need them to be a little bit smaller like when you're making wreath builder cards things like that so and that has that cute little single stitching going around yeah embossing you can be good at embossing you just have to kind of stick with it and practice it a little bit and make sure that you don't have lotion on your hands that they get all over the place use the embossing magic pad things like that will really make a difference so again this is um what i'm i'm going this is the same die set master layouts three and this is the coordinating one to that stitched one so it's going to create that little shadow layer but you know what i don't want to do black why am i doing black i want gold do you have any more gold card stock anywhere we must give me a sec gotta find it thought i had a scrap i don't getting a big piece okay here we go big piece of card stock i'm going to cut it real quick off to the side here what is the size of this my slimline card measures four by nine that is the size it goes into a regular number 10 envelope so it will ship or mail for just the price of a regular stamp and the panel that i cut is a quarter of an inch shorter so the panel measures three and three quarter inches by eight and three quarter inches yes i like the gold better i know i'm not using black everybody faint altogether because i didn't use black for those of you who are new and you're joining us for the first time i use black on just about every card it's my favorite color to use for um making things pop but i'm not using it tonight okay so now i am going to i'm going to adhere these two panels together let's see if we can get some something here to brighten it up so you can see a little bit better here we go i'll put some white down and then we'll have all the pieces here so you can see better i think that might be a little more helpful okay so we are going to assemble this card i am i actually i don't have a new die cutting machine i do have a gemini i like the gemini that's the electronic it's the electric one not the electronic one so there's a difference i learned because i was saying the wrong thing so an electric die cutting machine is a machine that automatically feeds the plates and the dies through the machine but it's traditional die cutting with metal dies like these an electronic die cutting machine is like a cricket that's where you don't use dies it's not really cutting dies so it's a little deceptive when they say die cutting it's um basically you load files into it and it cuts the files so i'm putting a lot of tape on this i know it seems excessive but it is a little warpy and the card cardstock is a little thin because it's a layering weight okay here we go make sure that's straight it's a long way down okay so there's the card and then we're going to put this midway oh i like that do you guys like that i don't know which way it looks better i don't think it matters so we're going to put that right across the center it kind of connects the two parts together i love that all right yes okay and then i'm going to adhere these two together and i think i might pop this up let's just see how it looks so you guys think i should pop that up a little bit i think so yes this would be a beautiful wedding card it would be a great anniversary card and of course if it's a you know a gold or a silver anniversary you can just stick with the one color but beautiful wedding card that's a great idea all right i'm going to use four foam squares these are the thermal web foam squares the gina k designs and thermo web and they come in black and white so i'll use white for this card because of all the white card stock alrighty and we'll put that right in the middle is that in the middle that's in the middle enough right here we go card is done and that fits just in a regular business size envelope so that's kind of fun okay the foam squares how thick are the foam squares they are 1 16 of well i don't know yeah 1 16 of an inch here you can kind of see here pull them out here you can kind of see they're not too thick and i like that because if i want them thicker i just double them but sometimes i don't want them to be that thick so there's my first slimline card with an ombre gold and silver blend kind of like putting the strip across because it makes the design feel like it's just a big s so okay so that's my first card now we're going to do a similar layout for the second card but we're going to do this one in color and we're going to emboss we're going to emboss in color now i need another piece of cardstock because i ruined my first one so i will cut that super quick over here i'm cutting it to three and three quarters of an inch by eight and three quarters of an inch and that is exactly the size that we started with before and i'm going to do the same thing i'm going to put a little bit of tape here and i'm going to tape this right onto my misti now this one is going to be a little different because we're going to have to do a little combination thing here so i'm going to lay my stamp where i want it we're going to do that same layout and i'm going to pick it up with the door of the misti now i didn't even clean that stamp now what i'm going to do is i'm going to take my embossing magic pad and i'm going to rub that stay put i'm going to rub that all over the surface here and then i'm going to use a mix of two colors i'm going to do a blend of tranquil teal and lucky clover so i'm going to start with i'm going to start with the lighter color so i'm going to put a little lucky clover this would be better if i had i don't know if i have all the ink cubes but i might i might have a tranquil teal ink cube so i started with the green and now i'm going to add the teal [Music] in there okay i'm gonna go over the green a little bit in spots just to see if that gives me a little bit of a blend of a color okay and now i'm going to stamp it here we get all the space on the inside of the slim line there's a lot of space on the inside of a slim line it's really nice because i sent a slimline card to a friend a couple of weeks ago and i was able to really write in a nice you know a nice amount inside that card it made me really happy to be able to do that okay so there's my blend so now i'm going to get my tiny towel and i'm going to clean this stamp i'm going to clean it off i don't want to move it though okay i'm just going to clean it okay there we go sure it's no wet water anywhere no it feels pretty good now i am going to get my versamark pad and i'm going to ink this stamp up again with versamark [Music] now you can do this this is a great way to emboss in any color you can do this with black ink so you don't have to worry about black embossing powder getting all over the place if you have you struggle with that color um so now i'm going to versamark over this entire thing you don't want to move anything you want to keep your card stock in place you want to keep your misti the stamp on the misti okay and now i'm going to get my clear embossing powder and i'm going to go over that entire thing here we go now our ink isn't very fast drying it's a dye ink it's very fast drying so you can't just do the uh embossing powder right over our ink but it only takes a second to add that versamark and then you get a nice thick like the ink is a little thicker on there okay so now it looks pretty dull right let's you know what i want to make sure though that i want to make sure i don't have any down here because i'm going to stamp down there and i don't want embossing powder to harden over that all right now the color is going to get real vibrant real quick and i think it looks almost better blended once that clear glaze gets on top i love that green and blue together [Applause] you guys know green and blue are my favorites people on my staff laugh at me because i use jelly bean greens so much now i'm doing i'm kind of hooked on lucky clover lately but i love the blue and green mix so now you can see all that nice shine see the shine in there let's see if i can catch it tom can they see that shine yes okay good good good yeah so that makes it really easy to emboss in any color if you have a dye ink and you have a versamark pad and a misti you can emboss in any color so now i'm going to clean this up because it's kind of messy and a lot of you guys ask me how i clean my misti so i'm going to show you how i clean it as soon as i'm done this card okay so now i'm going to get some tape here it is put a little tape on the back there and reposition that i think that's where it was but of course i can check yeah that's gonna look good okay once again the embossing magic pad now i'm not taking the versamark off of here i don't care about that it's not going to bother anything it won't hurt the ink pad at all is that the mouse pad on there yes yeah that's the misti mouse pad all right and then we'll go in with [Music] some of the teal tranquil teal we'll see how that looks versamark will always make your ink stick better to your stamp anyway so and if you miss anything as long as you don't completely move the paper you can go back and re-ink a little area and stamp it again okay now see if i wanted that to look a little bit darker i could go back over that again just a little more ink and i could add a little more ink in there okay so once again i'm gonna clean my stamp now my my versamark pad is quite a mess it always has ink on it it always has a hint or a tint um just because i do techniques like this a lot but it really doesn't affect the quality of your versamark ink did somebody have a question tom oh okay all right so now i'm going to use the versamark pad again you know and it might you could see like my my ink pad is a little stained but same with my embossing and watermark ink the gina k one it but if it really bothers you you could have two and you could have one for all your dirty techniques and then you could have another one that's pristine for when you're just doing clear or you're you know just using a watermark and you don't want any hue of anything on there any little faint hue it's kind of a seattle seahawks it is it's like the seattle seahawks right here go hawks i love the seahawks i should live in seattle but my heart is with the packers i admit it my heart is with the packers okay but russell wilson i just love his attitude he's got a can-do attitude talking football you can really tell when it's covered too because it gets super dusty looking and if you see any parts where you can really see the ink it's not covered just go back and add a little bit more alrighty so we will emboss that [Applause] pretty pretty it's like mesmerizing when the color comes up or when the shine comes up [Applause] if you guys have any friends who don't craft and you want to get them into crafting just let them try embossing that is the thing that transforms people into card makers i really think it's the embossing powder all right so that's looking pretty good i like that color combination it's very elegant okay so i'm gonna clean the ink off of here so i use to clean my mouse pad i use the gina k design stamp cleaner and i'll just use that with like a paper towel and it'll just come right off it'll also get the tape off because it's got a little bit of an oily residue to it and that will help remove the tape and everything gets nice and clean see that no worries at all nice and clean it's not even sticky anymore okay so let me clean this stamp and then we will do the middle part i should probably leave that on there i'll just leave that on there so i'm going to do this is a little bit bigger this one just by like a half an er not a half an inch like an eighth of an inch so this one measures let me see if i can get my measuring thing here so this one is i don't know why i did it this way but it's one and five eighths by three and three quarters so one and five eighths by three and three quarters and then uh one and three quarters by three and three quarters and that just gives you that little edge along the bottom okay the solution is the gina k design stamp cleaner that's what i clean my misti with i clean the door of my misti with it i clean any sticky stuff that's on anything it is really really a good cleaner i think you guys would love it and of course it's a stamp cleaner so it'll clean your stamps so we're going to put that right there i think i might have to put on the white walls on the white walls of your car up your tires oh that's for another show okay i want to see if i have a lucky clover ink cube i really am a big ink cube fan for my favorite colors i have to have both the ink cubes and the ink pads i'm going to just add some oh i guess i should have done the green first but that's all right it's okay if you get any ink where you don't want it on your pad you can always just take a piece of card stock and just ink it a few times and you'll get whatever was sitting on top in that case a little tranquil teal off okay here we go love my chucky tool okay i'm gonna do a little bit more of the tranquil teal and it's nice because the stamp is a little stained so i can still see where that was there we go i just darkened it up a little bit i probably should do that little spot right there i probably missed it with the ink pad um [Music] there we go one more there we go okay good enough so now again i'm gonna clean the stamp and get rid of all that ink and versamark it and make it shine [Music] [Laughter] trying to read your comments as i go but i know that there are people now making these tools and selling them on etsy and on ebay and all over the place so chuck you are just a brilliant man you created a whole craze with this tool i don't know if chuck's here because i haven't seen any comments yet but all right and then we'll do the greeting too i think we'll do the greeting in the tranquil teal since that's the color card base i have let's see where i missed right there and then we'll get my little one of these okay let me get this out of the way but i love that you can use the clear to create any kind of embossing look you don't have to have 50 zillion colors you can use what you have in your collection and then just heat it up with some clear of course you do need the misti to do this i guess you could use a stamp on the jig if you're a little more old school and that's your um stamp positioning tool of choice you could do that but i definitely think it's easier with a misti i think everything's easier with a misti okay drop this piece like a million times but that's going to go together on there so i'm going to put that aside while we do the greeting and then once again i'm going to clean this still have a little stamp cleaner on there so it's still working there we go now i just need a little white piece of cardstock and for this one i'm not exactly sure what greeting i want to use i was thinking about using the oval this oval set from the master layouts one with the little lace edge um i think i'll try that and see what it's like so i think uh i always need a birthday card i could use this birthday wishes to you i could do that or we could do love you with all my heart what do you guys think should i do a love you card or should i do a birthday card i always need a birthday card incidentally see how my versamark is so you can always take the time to clean your stamp a little bit better than i do i think the difference is i just i don't care that much you know i don't i don't worry about it because i use it for techniques and if i put a little ink in it and i just blot it off on a paper towel that's not really gonna affect a whole lot okay so i think we're gonna go with the birthday one because it looks like the majority of you are saying birthday so i'm going to do the embossing magic first i do want to make sure i get this up i don't want it to be down here and then not be able to cut out the oval so i'm going to put it up a little higher and this one is going to be all um tranquil teal so i'll use my big pad for that of course i can stamp this more than once if i don't get the impression that i want i'm so used to stamping my greetings in black that i don't care how many times i stamp it in color it never feels dark enough to me and that's just a me thing but i really kind of want this to um to just go with the the whole theme of the card and i don't think i need to use black all right noticed like a couple cards now i didn't use black i'm like really branching out all right i'm going to the versamark now and then we will add that clear this is a great way to get that color i mean when i know a lot of you guys struggle with the black embossing powder this is such a cheat such a great way to always make it look perfect and never worry about any specs you can just tell it's completely covered because it's so pale right now but when that heat tool hits it it's gonna look great and we don't care if there's specks because we're never gonna see them oh yeah it looks great see that nice and shiny it's hard for me to see the shine in my little tiny monitor that's so little okay now i'm going to cut this out and i'm going to cut the um the oval too and the oval i'm going to cut i'm going to cut the plain oval with the word and i'm going to cut the fancy oval with tranquil teal so this is a little more jazzy this card for me i'm usually much more plain i don't want to put any black in there why did somebody ask people are nervous they're nervous because i don't have any black i'm worried about you i'm going to make it through i'll have a glass of wine afterwards that'll work okay so i'm just gonna try to place this with a little bit of purple tape and it's kind of warpy it'll be a good cut yes jazzy's good you're right don't damage the misti using the heat tool over it well if you get too close it absolutely will i think it's a little deceptive because i was really far away i mean from where like i was holding it up here to where the table is is a good foot away it's just deceptive because you only can see the overhead so you don't get the full depth perception on your end but i wasn't as close as it appeared so yeah that's a really good point thanks for making that point because i wouldn't want anybody to ruin their misti so i'm going to cut this one out using that lacy oval from master layouts one whenever i do an intricate die i like to do it off to one side or the other on my plate i feel like you get better cuts that way and then we're gonna need the craft pick so i'm pretty far away i'm gonna zoom in a little bit here now so that you guys can see better and i want to get a white piece of cardstock to help be able to see all of this a little bit better there we go wow that's really close i don't know what i was thinking let me back out a little bit there we go a little bit so um this is just dirty because my plate is dirty that's what that's all about and these these usually drop out pretty easily just by kind of rubbing your finger over them but to save time i will just get in there with that little pick and just do that they're all cut completely but it's such a small little intricate lacy oval that uh sometimes the little pieces just want to stay in there okay so there we go that's that die it's very sweet and now i will adhere these two together i am a little inky tonight which is always fun all right i'm standing on my tiptoes again trying to get this even there we go birthday wishes to you and now we will adhere these two panels together see if i can do this one sitting up not sitting up it's not like i'm laying down and crafting you guys know what i mean holding it up ah maybe i should have had the glass of wine before i started yes i definitely should have okay this is hard it's hard to put two pieces together while you're holding them i do it a lot in my videos and i always struggle all right there we go okay now we're going to adhere these two together i'll zoom out a little so you can see the whole card and again remember this is a little warpy because i used a layering weight cardstock you use the heavy base weight cardstock it's a little less warpy but just a little more tape is totally fine unless you're hoarding your tape and then i say by all means either use a little heavier weight cardstock or you can use your connect glue and then we'll put that over the center like that i like this this color combo so we've got a nice ombre mix there and then we will pop that up right there warpy yes isn't that the right description warpy you guys get it so um i just want to let you guys know so we've got plenty of time to plan that after the holiday season we're gonna change our live schedule we are going to try our best to do one evening and one lunchtime live because i know a lot of people depending on where you are it gets late um and some people even you know even at work you know they get a lunch break and they just kind of want to sit and watch a video and be fun to participate in a live so we're going to try it and see how it goes we're thinking of changing our schedule to mondays and thursdays so i just want to give you a heads up that that could be coming in the near future all right so here is this finished card i'm gonna back out just a little bit let me push my dirt out of the way from my my mess so here is the um oh all that shine the ombre in color card and the ombre embossed card with the gold and silver there we go so two different slimline cards maybe i should take the white paper away there we go there they are the finished cards and remember these these mail easily in a business size envelope so you don't need any fancy envelopes although there are lots of fancy ones out there and we have some coming soon in gina k colors but if you just have a white regular number 10 business envelope you can get those at walgreens you can get them in your grocery store these will fit right in there perfectly and if they're not too thick or too heavy they will go for just the price of a regular stamp even though it's a nice big card so there we go oh that was a lot of fun i hope you guys had fun tonight i hope you learned something new maybe give embossing a second go if you've been a little apprehensive and for those of you that are embossing pros maybe you haven't tried mixing your golds and silvers together yet it sure is a lot of fun well that's all we have tonight um we will be back on wednesday night with another live not sure what i'm going to make yet i'm going to try really hard to get away from the holiday tapestry stamp set i feel like my last 10 videos have been using this set but if you invested in it there's a lot of ideas out there on the internet for you now all right you guys in the meantime between now and wednesday please stay safe stay healthy i love you all so very much and i'll see you again mwah real soon bye
