I would give the last 25 years of my life to have been born with Joel's talent.
I used to go to this bar in college often. They would play all the new hip hop music and techno dance stuff throughout the night. But every night, they would play Piano Man during last call.
Every single person would sing their heads off to that song.
Did anyone else note Elton John forgets what verse they're in and screws up the lyrics at 4:15. Love Billy's response: "Okay!?"
Put all my music on shuffle on a car ride home on satday and this song played at exactly 9 oclock. All my mates gasped and laughed at how perfect it was. Out of all the songs on my phone this one decided to come on at exactly that time. One of the best coincidences ever.
This version with Elton is good, but I prefer the original where Billy sings about 1000 violent chefs attacking him for his crimes against dough.
I love this song, everytime I listen to it it reminds me of a good friend of mine who died way too young. Tommy would always sing this on camping trips, he would also jokingly make captains logs, like in stark trek, making fun of his other troop members in a witty way. This kid could have been president some day if he didn't have that fatal brain aneurysm at the age of 19. Rest in peace Tommy, may you soar high with all the other eagles.
These guys are great, I saw them at Wrigley Field a few years ago when they were touring together. Really awesome to hear them sing each others songs.
How the hell did Elton flub that line?!
I love me some Billy Joel, but after recently reading Chuck Klosterman's piece on him:

I felt a bit sorry for him. Depression is a helluva thing.
