[Music] welcome to Disney's frozen - we're slap-happy excellent my question for you is my first one what was the last time you got voice recognized so you're in the supermarket you're walking down the street you just might be talking yes goes yes sir how one way there was a lovely young lady who heard my voice on the street followed me into a market a French market told me it was in France no here oh that French markets in London well very much Paula's not like it's not like French people are like you not open her marketplace unless it's on the streets of believe you I went into this French market in London and yeah and there was this young lady who recognized my voice and it was her birthday and I bought her birthday cake you bought her a birthday I felt like she was buying ik thinking for herself and I was like well that no it was weird I does she like thirty she turned 30 she's ten thirty yeah yeah was I bought myself a cupcake and spent my 30th birthday alone I think that was her destiny to and I was we should introduce you I think what's the trick to a good olaf loaf because you have to do a lot of laughs there's a lot of the trick is to really genuinely laugh at the insanity that they're presenting to you um I there are so many times that they just let me go wild and I'm laughing at the absurdity that I'm getting to do the crazy things that they're allowing me to do that I just genuinely laugh at it and so our brilliant editor takes those laughs this is like gonna use that gonna use that anytime I fake a laugh it doesn't work when I thought it's a real effort how about a reindeer voice I mean wants the tricks that I don't know so damn good I just do it that's how are you so good at it that genuine he sounds just like a reindeer it really does but like there's something about that voice that's now so iconic that like if they came to me and they were like we need you to voice the reindeer I feel reindeer Oh crazy reindeer so much better and personal it's just so like delightful I love it amazing would you like to say any words to all of the frozen dads out there that have dressed up as Elsa that have gone to so many different sing-along screenings event the ice show anything you'd like to say to them particularly my friend Joel who has dressed up as Elsa and I think I seen the film the first film but more than any other thing in his entire life yeah well we say thank you thank you for not only sharing with your children that journey as hard as it may be to fit in those dresses but but we also I get it I'm a father of two girls right there with you Joel right there with you dads they pick that Joel committed to drag though is really that really impressive Oh Joel he's looking for any excuse to get that way okay no it wasn't doing it so much first time she was committing to his lifelong goals he was like it's a Sunday let's dress well I do yeah deal with it oh okay ask you about the direction you get because I'm imagining when you shoot this movie when you're recording the lines there are some pretty odd notes you get saying more Oh laughs less Oh laughs what's up things do catch this thing pretty good I get uh here's what I get I get a lot of checked back in with your voice your voice is sounding too deep or your voice is not it's so funny because Olaf is more mature now so I tried to mature his voice slightly but sometimes it was coming across as like Olaf is like I had that ternary oh I was Kathleen Turner Hey are we gonna do it let's go look for some ice likes going into you wanna play a game you know so you want to play incredible and finally this is really contentious question but yeah ease let it go a Christmas song and be a song that is is acceptable to play on national radio on Christmas Day definitely I think it's all of the above I think Atletico I think what's so special about let it go is it represents something for every person who hears it represents something different yeah so it's it's become such a powerful anthem because it speaks to something in each of us it's you know the just by virtue of the fact that it's so unspecific what is it when it goes right that it can be filled with your own anxieties with your own fears with your own obstacles and so for each of us it's different pachow let's don't worrying trousers yes yes we all have our own it yes that's a perfect answer thank you so much you guys yeah thanks for watching if you enjoyed this video don't forget to subscribe and click the bell icon to keep up to date you can listen to my radio on movies and TV podcasts screentime on BBC sounds and you can find these interviews in full on BBC iplayer by searching movies with Ally plum [Music]
