jaw-dropping billionaires 2020 has been such a groundbreaking year for both bosses they've surpassed themselves when it comes to income and financial superiority bezos managed to add 13 billion dollars to his net worth last july 2020 this was believed to be the largest earning for an individual in a single day what's more impressive is that musk managed to quadruple his fortune over the last seven months this on the other hand was believed to be the fastest wealth accumulation in history right off the bat you can see the similarities and differences between these two men but we need more context what's a race without its races right starting off with bezos he is now known as the owner of multi-million company amazon although he is known for being the richest man on earth he wasn't always like this bezos was a former hedge fund employee that launched his in 1994 after reading that the web had grown two thousand three hundred percent in a year he went on to open an online bookstore called cadabra in his seattle garage later as it drew in numbers he changed it to amazon amazingly enough the company's value passed the trillion dollar mark for the first time in history currently bezos holds a 10.6 stake but who is his opponent who is this elon musk we hear about all the time well his rise to billionaire status was all the more confusing it went so fast that it was dizzying at the tender age of 24 elon musk moved to the u.s from south africa musk claims that they were almost dirt poor it was difficult for him and his brother to live back then because they couldn't afford an apartment sometimes they even slept in the office and lived on one dollar a day by buying hot dogs and oranges in bulk his humble beginnings were abruptly cut there when four years later they sold zip to for 300 million dollars two years after that musk sold his company paypal for 1.5 billion dollars in 2002. what's even crazier is that he founded aerospace company spacex the same year but he didn't stop there in 2004 he joined electric car company tesla as a product architect after which he became chief executive in 2008. but the question remains who is going to be the first one to break the 1 trillion worth mark will it be the aerospace technology enthusiast elon musk or innovative web designer jeff bezos this is where the race starts we know that america's richest individuals are getting richer and richer not even the pandemic seems to be slowing these men down they've had record-breaking sales and profits over the past few months and it doesn't seem to be stopping for either of them if we look at elon musk's track record we can see that he is the person working to revolutionize transportation both on earth and in space he has plans for investing on a hyperloop that comes at an eye-watering amount of 6 billion jeff bezos on the other hand used to be the ceo and co-founder of amazon he is in every billionaire list at its top entry people call him the richest man on earth as it stands bezos is the most expensive man walking among us musk comes at a very close second the company's share price reflects this absolutely phenomenal out of nowhere growth the stock greatly increased by nearly 500 percent from september 2015 to september 2020 between january and september alone it rose again to 60 the 2020 annual meeting announcement showed bezos owning 75 million dollars worth of shares with regards to the growing rate we could foresee bezos reaching the 200 billion dollar mark in just five and a half years unfortunately due to the pandemic there was a nosedive in the rise of the stocks amazon stocks stagnated at eighteen hundred to two thousand dollars per share for a year and a half but it is highly possible we see a comeback right after this pandemic blows over if we go by just exponential growth bezos will be hit indefinitely since there might be a decrease in exponential growth rate it would be difficult for him to latch on to the 200 million dollar mark in over a decade but elon musk seems to have better luck with this he is even more likely to cross the mark especially at the rate he's going now musk is known to co-found and lead tesla spacex neurolink and the boring company he leads all product design engineering and global manufacturing of the company's electric vehicles battery products and solar energy products all of these are things that are under his wing thanks to his efforts on these endeavors and products tesla has seen a rapid increase in stock prices no matter how quirky people think elon musk is he is by far one of the most hands-on billionaires there ever were as of recently he has seen his personal wealth sought to unimaginable heights of 183 billion dollars this immediately puts him up there as one of the wealthiest people in the world over the past few months musk saw the highest percentage gains with a 220 percent boost this immediately puts the ball out of the park by taking his personal fortune from 24.6 billion dollars to 73.1 billion dollars these are the most recent numbers but who knows how large it's gotten as we speak it's even been put on record that musk's net worth has risen by 100.3 billion dollars over the past year now if we're looking long-term such as tesla's profit making in the next 10 years it would be safe to say that musk would be having billions under his belt at present tesla is aiming to annually mass produce 500 000 cars per factory as it stands the company has plans to build two factories per year this would entail the company boasting a total of 20 to 25 factories by the end of the decade since tesla is known to invest their profit in building new factories and other capital investments it won't be surprising to see the annual profit grow even more in actuality they could be over a 15.54 trillion dollar company but if we were to take a look at what their business administration showcases it's safe to say that in the very near future tesla could be worth 1.5 trillion dollars that would immediately grant elon musk 375 billion dollars far surpassing bezos declining stocks the bezos and mask discussion is one that
