paul is and they're going to say he was down it's fourth down but i don't know ruling on the field was that the runners forward progress had been stopped and was driven backwards prior to the ball coming loose therefore this is not a reviewable play 23-yard try and the giants do have the first points of the day [Applause] now starting from the 20 it's alex smith and on the run he finds his receiver [Applause] first down in 15. good protection sideline cut freylin edwards over the middle and that's caught for a first down by ted ginn jr five defensive backs he'll get a lot of time in this game against his 49ers running game now second down and 12 for alan edwards the defender fell down and now the first possession for the seven and one 49ers third and three smith four out of the backfield first down at the 22. in terms of experience he's no longer a young quarterback pass all what a tackle by ross and 19 of 21 overall 20 of 22. and it was a good opening quarter manning finds cruz lot of room to run for victor cruz and he hops out of bounds good pocket the pass is caught by manningham [Applause] first down at the 38. manning gets rid of it quick and finds his man juggled with a snap that's pasco and bear pascal it's jacobs and it's a first down jacobs tried to bounce to the outside and he was brought down by justin smith coming from cincinnati in 08. on third down pass is caught by ballard and he is knocked to the ground by carlos rogers nothing to it for tynes during this possession and two long giant strides and here is a completion out on the edge to kyle williams first down in five we haven't seen much of frank gore pass complete hit on the run and that's crap it's like the chains are off a little bit today and they want to air it out against the giants on second and seven the pass caught flag flies crabtree has a first down pushed off at the top right there with a right arm yep right at the top of that route there you see anytime you get the arm extended [Applause] what a nice play made in the backfield by kiwanuka has carried it four times from minus one yard third and 21 in the pass caught by edwards but phillips is there to stop braylon edwards [Applause] and now five for five last week it was 0-0 at the half giants in new england here's an onside kick try and it's recovered by the 49ers just hit from 52 yards and now a perfect onside kick along the sideline they're going to say incomplete it looked like ted ginn jr was in bounds and now they're going to say a catch i look from here like he was able to get his feet in he drags the right toe position so now second down and one gore over the left side and he's done nothing what an opportunity for this giants defense after the onside kick to get a stop smith over the middle it's delaney walker and he's still on his feet to the 26. it had more to do with just the great placement by david aiken acres by the way is eight of 18 in his career on on side kicks and here's a big play made by linval joseph third down and 17. see if the 49ers try to bite off a little bit more of the yardage make it easier on acres as alex smith in the race won't get there [Applause] he has been a machine no playoff win since they've been to the playoffs that next season 08 here's manning and there's cruz and he drops it victor cruz started a run he could not have been more wide open but down by three manning try it again and this time he's picked off intercepted by carlos rogers two timeouts for each team under a minute to go middle of the field is wide open and sliding inside the 25. foley went to the locker room wide open and now batted in the air and intercepted off the hands of ted ginn jr and picked off by webster everything was good there for the 49ers alex smith did a good job of directing the protection to pick up the blitz he delivers a good ball they just failed to make the catch play action from alex smith on first down and there's delaney rolling out to his right airing it out down field great coverage and incomplete [Applause] manning down he goes and it's patrick willis who gets in the loss of nine [Applause] see if they go that direction on third and seven smith is hit as he let it go and it will drop untouched this season he's a gifted athlete in the middle of that defense third down and seven manning throws for cruz what a throwing catch as has eli manning on first down [Applause] manic near sideline nixon incomplete as goldson almost got both feet down even when eli manning was working the other way he held his ground so that he could get help over the top the left foot there jacob's room to run only five total penalties in this game giants have three of them on first and 15 wide openers the tight end pasco he ran right over carlos rogers and fires up his sideline blitz manning to the end zone pass is caught for the touchdown mario manningham manning drops it in there and with the extra point coming the giants can go back on top let's see if he got his feet in bounds there's one there's two that's a that's a great job [Applause] alex smith trying to make something happen [Applause] generally is what helps them by creating a take away in these situations manning flushed out of the pocket chased throws floats it incomplete and he had knicks wide open [Applause] a good point by weatherford they'll keep it away from ted king jr so you can keep it away from again but that ball is marked right at midfield [Applause] smith finds a wide open vernon davis a leap and a touchdown crabtree started in the backfield and ends up in the end zone it's a seven point game across the nfl in the fourth quarter and the giants are going to need him to be good down by seven manning keeps it now throws it and rogers is there for the 49ers a rolling interception down inside the 20. handoff to hunter touchdown thrown two picks since third and three over the middle wide open for the first down is ballard manning finds his tight end again delayed handoff to where and that did not work blitz manning throws what a throw touchdown knicks a beautiful combination eli manning to hakeem knicks just three of nine as they face third and fourth penalty flag on the play as alex smith is sacked oc human europe but there is a flag down offside offense number 17. second and five ware has got a first down jacobs gets it willis makes a play manning willis and patrick well has just showed us all that speed rolling off his back foot and this pass is caught mario manningham with his biggest reception so far completion of 18 yards in a first down manning just flips it forward to dj ware [Applause] continues to run down the middle manningham open dropped it eli completed seven straight before that they're all coming from the 49ers manning just throws it short of cruz manning wide open and caught as victor cruz good protection pass is caught that's where who stays inbound manning finds his receiver and nick's at the top of the screen instead down to manningham a lot of hand checking no flag [Applause] delayed handoff where back to the line of scrimmage and it will again be fourth down manic has it batted down by justin smith and the 49ers will take over and move to eight and one batted down but watch ballard here and then cruz these two guys were going to be in the same position because ballard couldn't get off the line of scrimmage so even if smith doesn't knock this ball down i don't know that there would have been anywhere there and it's willis defense and team on top today take a break and come back to san francisco after this

Blows my mind to this day that out of those three straight NFC championship contending teams we weren’t able to sneak through and actually capture another Lombardi. Fucking mind blowing bc that defense was stupid stacked
