For this video I printed a lot of Benchys to show you how the latest Cura version can be configured so that it can significantly beat the times of Elegoo Cura. I optimized a Cura profile so that a benchy can be printed in just 22 minutes. Compared to Elegoo Cura, that's 7 minutes less. After I had the first problems when printing with Elegoo Cura and the print took 48 minutes instead of 29 minutes, I set the basic condition for my comparisons that the maximum acceleration in the web interface was set to 5000 millimeters per second before each print square is placed. The background to this is that Cura automatically adjusts the limit, for example to print the last layer a little slower. Elegoo Cura, on the other hand, never sets the limit and therefore relies on the value in the web interface. If this is too small, then printing will take longer than stated. In order to be able to add my print profile in Cura, I first have to adjust a little thing in the printer profile. If you don't have it yet, my video is in the description and now also linked at the top right. We first open the Cura installation folder as shown and look for our Neptune 4 Pro profile in it. I use Notepad++ to edit the file. Now we need to add two lines as shown to increase the maximum acceleration to the supported 5000 millimeters per second. This was probably forgotten in the profile. To save, we have to switch Notepad++ to admin mode because we are editing program files . We can then download the print profile. As always, the link is in the description. To add the profile, we go to Cura and click on “Manage Profiles” using an import button. The downloaded profile can then easily be imported. Then simply select and you can get started. If we both slice a classic Benchy, then it's immediately noticeable that my profile here is significantly faster at 22 minutes than the 29 minutes in Elegoo Cura. Of course, I also tested this when printing and both slicers keep their promises. If you compare the results, you can see that my new profile has better quality despite the shorter printing time. I also tested faster variants, but then neglected them due to the poor quality. After installing the profile, the printer can now be used to its full potential and there is no longer any reason to stick with the outdated Elegoo Cura version if you would like to use the latest features of Cura and get even faster printing times and better quality as a bonus . By the way, I used the new Elegoo Rapid PLA+ as the material. A link to it is in the description. That would be it for this video. Feel free to subscribe so you don't miss anything. And if you have any ideas about how you could further optimize the profile without reducing the quality, please feel free to comment in the comments or join my Discord in the description and discuss further there.
