I have so much respect for those old ladies at the auto oh oh God uh this is kind of the first cup of coffee of the day so takes a little while for me to get the handle on it and we don't have our our our main man here to help so we're we're we're figuring it out that looks like crap that looks terrible thanks John okay start your day yes oh it's honestly not that good I mean very it's like not hot at all yes I'll come back when you have your well can we talk about the um the flight attendant that's on Luca and Troy's bike oh no no no no comment on that U next question how's your coffee making skills bad right now we need help yeah season's started pretty good can only do one place better so that's a pretty good start and uh yeah last week we just had a bit of a downtime went to Canyon went to Leah gang just for some fun fting and now we're here in Poland so um about ready to walk the truck and see what we got but I've heard good things and just cruising it's good to come to a new venue and a new track and I think everyone seems pretty excited for it can you tell us about uh a little bit of your bike set from last um yeah I mean not much changed We we played around with it a fair bit um obviously we got yeah the the suspension on there as well that's everything's semi secet I guess but um it's all working and we're very happy and old mate here's taking it completely apart to get it all fresh again so yeah it's uh nothing too crazy but we'll see how this track goes and whether we need to change anything we work a lot this winter you know like on the how the bike is behaving the rear wheel and everything related to absorption and and something how somehow we can improve and and uh yeah we work on the different Rand which is like a Chromo it's not it's not a Li and yeah the the behaving is it's a bit different the way how the bike is bouncing and stuff so yeah like interesting for the moment yeah is the only is the only one like the strategy with the other Riders it's a bit different you know like Amor's history with riding newness with the team it's uh it's old so yeah like first we test with him we try to improve and then yeah have the same for everybody maybe H you know like foriam it's a super different track uh it's a challenge for everybody so yeah we trve to have some system some um lockouts stuff or or anything and yeah here that will be different you know like it's more like a soft track with some death and and stuff so what have we got here then that was the yeah just the just the lever from last week I'm not sure he help us in for them but that's let's say like that's it's a new way MTV is going it's like in some mode on the car you can put like sports mode you can have some maps on the Moto GP bikes or whatever let's say like MTD is going this way well yeah back uh race number two uh we don't know what to expect cuz it didn't we didn't track walk yet but seems to be less uh aggressive for the bike than for William was then uh we're going to see track walk first and then we're going to we have a lot of options we've been working hard this winter to get all the options correct and we're going to pick up the one we believe that's a good one so let's see how it goes can you tell us about the couple of buttons on the handlebar I never see any button I don't know what you're talking about no I don't I cannot say anything but yeah it's something that we work on for the future with Zen so so far it's been doing great so yeah we keep uh improving working for future and developing new products and uh to make bikes better it can be an advantage when you use it correctly it can be also a disadvantage if you don't pick up the right information but yeah it's a lot of information so now it's a there's a lot of factor like cuz it's still an offro sport so it's not as precise as like Moto GP or Formula 1 you know every every kind of run the track change a bit line might change so you just need to spend a lot of time analyzing and making sure that you also believe in your own feeling like from I use a lot of F's feeling it's been years we working on it and now he's really precise you know everything he felt everything so for me it's really helpful to make the bike at his best yeah I'm Brad Blackwell I'm Luke Meers Smith's mechanic for giant Factory off-road DH um we've been running the padam melon steering damper Luke and his brother Remy are quite keen on it it uh saves a lot of uh hand fatigue shoulder fatigue arm fatigue uh and it has a really wide range so from all the way open all the way to close and everything in between and it has a nice positive feeling when it returns back to Center you know where Center is and you know what resistance you're going to get um my name is Conor wilmshurst I am working for the uh Union team um so I'm the mechanic for the two Junior Riders on the team so Alli Hills boss and uh Christian Hower um so yeah that's my job to look after their bikes and keep them running so we had uh over the offseason we had quite a few sponsor changes so for the Riders a lot of them are coming off of Yeah a different bike in a lot of different parts so it's been a quite a big learning curve for both us the mechanics and the Riders um to make those changes and to get the bikes feeling really good but we're uh come to a really good spot now and we're pretty happy with where we're sitting at Fort William was not too bad to us Chris Howard did have a uh bit of a crash in practice um that kep me on my toes a little bit but we uh got uh got them back up and running um but no so as far as the bikes go they're all uh all good and ready to go now it's um onion so Jordy um I think you know what I'm going to ask you about lockouts and variable suspension setups during race runs can you talk about your thoughts on it oh my thoughts on it I don't know we've been doing it for a long time uh we had I think we had cable lockout going and cans and it's like it turns into this big thing and everybody wants it and then once they really realize what downhill is I think it ends up going away most of the time uh I do think there's possibly some benefits to it but it's not what everybody thinks it is uh we've been working on a long time we've done a lot of testing we do have people riding uh a system here A rad system and we're obviously still working on it hard but I think most of it is a mind game there's so much Focus involved already that you're kind of theoretically you're using 100% of that brain already and when you have to start thinking this that is it on off which button did I push you might be into more of a detriment than a benefit uh obviously we're working on some other stuff that might get rid of all that but uh it still needs more work I mind show FIS Frameworks mechanic for ASA and Angel and for the whole team we are working all together we don't know too much about the truck so we have to the TRU W first and realize how it's going to be seems slightly steeper down for Wheeling so probably we ramp up the fork maybe a little bit or We rise the extensions a little to compensate that hit but seems pretty similar for us every single track at the walkup it's really easy to set up this bike so they a good in a really good spot so it slightly changes some to adjust the bike to every for us it wasn't a surprise that Isa did that like we know him for the last two years and we know how good he is and how capable he is to do this so he was a really good result but we think he can do better probably uh luckily we have a bag with uh two spare frames on the van and they didn't took it so we have two spare frames and Nico went back to us and he brought a full bik bill for him so we have another spare frame that he brought from us and a few rear ends so at least we have sorted for this race so we'll see how it goes the body a bit better than bruis but um it's okay I've done everything I can to try and ride here and so that's the plan you can ride and we hit of the game yeah once you separate your shoulder I don't think there's anything you can do it's not going to damage more or it's just kind of pushing through the pain and and so yeah that's the plan so uh yeah like I said I've done everything we can to try and be here to be ready to race and practice will be tough you know it's going to it's going to be sore I think if I can make it through practice and get into like the the racing I think by then you'll probably black it out and keep going it's cool they they it's a different track it's um it's it's fresh they they've got a lot of manade stuff it's going to break up quite a bit um but I think they done a really good job it's a it's a cool venue it's new fresh track be good so yeah in our uh post race debrief last week on Thursday um we looked at the the data that we collected over the week um some video and obviously Greg's feedback as well and uh we thought maybe we could get away with a slightly stiffer rear end so swung into action Parts went to the laminator on Friday um they were done over the weekend uh and then they went to Noco on Monday tested on the static jig on Tuesday and then on Tuesday afternoon somebody flew over with them in their hand luggage and here they are on Thursday ready to go so what we've done is we've just wrapped a bit of carbon over the back end um few laps of carbon just basically to to test if a stiffer back end is a direction we want to go this s combination of video the data that we collect and Greg's feedback led us to think that this could be something we an area we want to try so this is quite a bit stiffer than the the unwrapped back end and maybe maybe we've gone too far maybe we need to be somewhere in the middle we'll sort of bracket test that after this weekend really
