Elden Ring ULTRAWIDE Mod Fix: How To Install Step by Step

hey what's happening oxford king here and in this  video we're going to be going over how to enable   ultra wide screen in eldon ring and i hate to say  this and i think you already know this but there   is no official ultra wide screen supported by the  developers today's date is march 7th i haven't   seen anything yet so flawless widescreen is the  tool we're going to be using to enable this so   the easy anti-cheat eac will be disabled  and the game will be in offline mode   but the good news is it  enables beautiful beautiful   uh ultra wide screen so what we're going to do is  first i'm going to go ahead and go to the website   this is what the website looks like is false  widescreen it looks like flaws whitescreen.org   uh search it up in google will take you here uh  the third red link is download it takes you down   to the bottom of the screen the top left corner  here is the one that i chose so go ahead and click   that to download your executable and then install  flawless widescreen once you have it installed   it looks like this the only thing that you're  not gonna see yet if you are new to flawless   widescreen is elden ring in this top area where  it says uh flawless widescreen plug-ins you won't   see this yet so how do you find that how do you  enable it it's pretty easy if you go down to where   it says available plugins open up the flawless  widescreen plugins is a list of all the games   supported by this awesome program okay look for  eldon ring once you find it in the list and it   is alphabetized click it and it'll throw it up  here in the active area for the plugin all right   to the right of this you're gonna you're gonna  know right away that it is active because when   you click left click it you're gonna have a new  tab that says eldon ring and all the features   enabled okay now today today's date like i  mentioned to before is march the 7th i say   this because i noticed a new feature after it's  been updated uh disabling chromatic aberration i   love that that they added this awesome uh for  me i went ahead and checked all of these so   the first thing you're gonna do is make sure that  the fix box is checked enabled okay now below you   can find uh tune your fov i chose five percent i  was messing around with 10 and 15. the game has   an automatic fov adjustment when on horseback  i felt like 10 percent pushed your character   way out too far from my liking five percent seem  to be a good sweet spot uh frame rate adjustment   it's been recommended by the developer even over  here on like the fourth or fifth bullet that says   add fps just just set this to 360. i've done that  just throw that slider all the way to the right   um i do like vignette in some of my games not in  this one so i went ahead and turned the vignette   completely off on the zero position okay here at  the bottom make sure you acknowledge and ignore   this this is a message that must be read and  understood this is how you disable eac which   i will go ahead and do in this tutorial alright  so this is it for step one now i'm gonna move my   window over and show you what we do to finish this  up to enable the ultra widescreen part all right   navigate to where you installed eldon ring  so if you're a steam user you're going to go   ahead and find where eldon ring is installed uh  basically it's in your program files x86 folder   okay and then the steam folder then steam apps  then common elden ring and then within eldorin   there's a folder called game all right open that  up and that's what you're seeing now on screen   okay now i've already done this step but i'm going  to undo this to kind of show you what i have done so that we can follow along i just forgot to do  this when i uh my last recording got corrupted so   i had to start all over but that's fine so what  we're gonna do is when you're in here it looks   like this okay you're gonna select elden ring  executable and ctrl c and then v to copy and paste   if you don't like using hotkeys just right  click and copy and then right click paste   it'll look like this now okay your next  step is to look for the blue bear icon   or in other words the eac executable called  start underscore protected underscore game   go ahead and select that right click and rename it  in my opinion you can keep the name but at the end   hit.old or dot old hit enter to confirm that's  your new name of that file now we have to get this   og elden ring executable to be named this one all  right so the game thinks it's that executable so   that when you boot it up it takes you into offline  mode it takes out eac entirely right so what i do   for simplicity's sake is i reselect this and i  copy the name of the original start underscore   protected underscore game copy that select elegant  ring executable the original one not the copy   rename it hit control v now we have a new name  it goes down next to the other one where it   has a blue bear you'll see what it does on  the screen so it should do the same for you   and a last step i don't know if this step is still  required today it very well may be but you can do   it just in case because i have done it somebody  who watches this in the comment section say hey   man yep that steps still required i don't know if  it is or not what am i talking about i'm talking   about the steam underscore app id text document  that i created how do you do that right click open   up the contextual menu click on new then click on  text document rename that text document to steam   underscore app id open that up type in the numbers  one two four five six two zero make sure there's   no space after zero hit control s to save or file  save close out of that document now you can do   one of two things and i've tried both to make sure  that it does work you can either go back to steam   and click on the green play button which is easier  it does work when this first initiated there was   a lot of folks in the reddit forums and places  like that saying don't boot it up through steam   you can as long as you've done this fix  it does work it throws an offline mode   if you don't want to do that that's cool you're  going to double click this new executable this new   named one that is double click that it'll take  you in the game so let's go ahead and do that   fire up elegant ring let's check out what it looks  like in ultrawide okay here we go press any button   and it looks like it worked inappropriate activity  detected unable to start an online mode hit ok   another screen comes up saying you're going to  be starting an offline mode blah blah blah hit ok   great on the bottom right corner it even says in  all caps offline so you know right away eac is not   activated it's not working you're in offline mode  that's a good sign okay let me hop into my system   settings here and show you my resolution you can  choose either full screen or borderless windowed   it's entirely up to you i have done both and they  both work with this flawless widescreen program   they both work this is my resolutions 3840x1600  for those that are wondering what my specs are my   system my rig all that stuff down the description  block box i have everything listed there for you   i'm going back out of here let's go and load up  my character i happen to have two characters i   have my my main one that i have one called uw  for ultrawide this is actually a perfect segue   into mentioning my playthrough that i am doing  on this oxford king character somewhere on this   screen right now i'm gonna add a youtube card for  those that wish to join me along my play through   i am playing this game and i'm uploading to  youtube every part that i've done i'm on part 8   or 9 right now as of this recording unfortunately  it is going to be a 16 by 9 experience because   i'm playing the game for the first time in  online mode so i want to do that however i   did create a second character for my ultra wide  gameplay so let's go ahead and boot up this one   okay here we are doesn't this look gorgeous i  haven't played the ultra wide character uh in a   hot minute so this is this is absolutely stunning  uh let's go ahead and uh show you some ultra wide   footage i don't want to do too many spoilers for  those that just got the game right you don't want   to see too much stuff so i want to go ahead and  start here so this is what it looks like in my   opinion i do prefer the ui being in 16x9 some  people don't like that they want their ui pushed   out to the ultrawide um i love to have my ui right  in the center where my focal point is right when   i'm looking at my character all the action i want  the information to be there as well so i'm cool   with that i don't know of a fix to stretch  it out uh honestly i just i just don't know   but i want to show you some footage  let's go and go up this elevator let's go ahead and uh check out  lim grave i'm already smiling   it just looks so good and ultra wide it  looks gorgeous look at this look at this isn't this stunning this looks amazing yeah i just i wish it was  supported by the developers i want to play this   online in ultrawide is beautiful what i meant  by the um fov adjustment this is at 5 all right   at ten percent i felt like i was a little bit too  far out so when i go on horseback you'll see the   camera naturally pans out even further so again  this is five percent fov and i felt like five   percent was pretty good ten percent was a little  bit too far out i know i'm repeating myself but   just play around with it and see what you like but  uh i landed on five percent it seems to be pretty   cool i want to run around here just for a little  bit longer so you can see some of this scenery   it's awesome looking and you know what i want to  do real quick let's run over to that first cave and let's see what it looks like in a cave  with ultra ride right and tight corridors   some of you may be interested in seeing that okay so here we are approaching the cave give  that guy a little whack of the sword there   all right let's see let's check this out  grove side cave let's bring out the torch   look at this isn't this beautiful stunning  widescreen ultra widescreen looks amazing look at this and it's amazing keep saying that all right okay apparently i get really quiet  when i'm trying to play the game   that's it let me go and run over here into the  boss area because you can see what that looks like there we go what do you guys think pretty nice huh let me go and put  that torch away check this out pretty awesome and here's what the  menu looks like too in case you're   wondering what it looks like  an ultra wide looks like this so it stays in 16x9 i was also wondering  that as well what would the ui look like   uh and i dig it i'll tell you why because in the  left and right side you can still see the game   when you're panning your camera around or if an  enemy creeps up on your left or right side imagine   this whole ui being an ultra wide right i mean  you can still see through the menu but it really   is nice to see on the edges right of what's coming  around the corner i love that i think it's great so that's it that's gonna do it for this ultrawide  tutorial um listen if you don't mind uh drop a   like on
