the old eggs the perfect superfood let's go ahead and come back off here I want to say welcome to our audience we are streaming live here worldwide via the web and this will be a program good for everyone notifications are being sent out this is a major major topic and there are just so many people asking so many questions I'm talking about thousands of questions over the years about eggs we talk about saturated fats we spent a lot of time on coconut oil we look at the different types of things that we eat like omega-3s to bring down triglycerides but eggs is a big one and I think the biggest fear is the old cholesterol I think we all agree cholesterol is the biggest fear and there is a big rap about that and there's been a lot of changes over the many years about cholesterol and a good friend of mine is I always talk about with the chief cardiologist here in South Florida he is not even concerned about cholesterol anymore things have changed so much but I will point out something that is important several things as we progress but the first thing I want to talk about as I mentioned about eggs has it has a tremendous amount of protein and there vitamins minerals antioxidants a whole large egg contains about 6 grams of high quality protein it's about 70 calories eggs also contain a varying amount of essential vitamins and minerals so the big question that we're going to get to today is how many eggs can I eat a day ah a topic that even the the most smartest doctors or nutritionists have still love a problem answering that question consistently but I'm going to answer that the best of my knowledge but first I will go ahead and bring not the knowledge to you so I will have basis of deferring it to something rather than just giving you my own opinion so for many years I can tell you that as we say cholesterol has changed and recently things have actually changed that they're not even so much concerned about cholesterol they've taken a lot of the restrictions away from cholesterol but still the average person they say about one egg a day according to the studies where there's been really no significant change in bad cholesterol total cholesterol now I'll go to that in just a second but cholesterol is a compound found the body it the reason why cholesterol is so important it makes hormones I mean imagine testosterone and estrogen can you imagine not having the right hormones in your body because you're not getting enough cholesterol it's needed to along with vitamin D it has in there helps digest food it actually makes cholesterol your liver makes cholesterol from your body your body's liver and in addition to what the the liver makes we are counteracting that okay by taking in dietary cholesterol so but I'm going to give you the facts about all of this the bottom line about cholesterol where it's good where it's bad how it affects you for example they say standards is one egg a day now I'm not saying that yet I'm just reading and just give you some information here they don't want people who are diabetics to have more than one egg a day and I'll explain that just a second so I just wanted to show you this first let's go ahead and remove this and let's just talk a little bit why people as we say cholesterol Wow I don't like that meter up high I don't like that cholesterol I'm kind of fearful as we talked about here the liver manufacturers cholesterol so now the liver continually manufactures cholesterol to keep the health of our body healthy they are the brain our tissues our glands or our organs and the hormones there's many things that you need cholesterol cholesterol you know the what goes on around just the coding around the nerves and everything else but you see dietary cholesterol comes in from food and the liver brings in cholesterol at the same time but here's the big kicker I want you to understand that when you bring in cholesterol the liver then says oh I'm going to stop producing it or slow down the cholesterol you see this is not the body is very intelligent the body knows and it's kind of like gum it's it's their hormones and their changes but the body knows exactly if there's too much of something that it's not going to keep making it and give you more of it so that is the probably the biggest kicker that I want people to realize that if you're taking a lot of cholesterol the liver is going to stop slowing down it's going to slow down and stop making the cholesterol so that is one thing I wanted to bring up so I don't forget that the other things I'm going to bring out now I just want you to understand some basic facts a little bit about the cholesterol levels we hear that you know you take too much cholesterol or vessels start to clog out we get stroke we get heart attacks but as we talked about cholesterol what about like testosterone estrogen cortisol these are like the most important hormones in our body that we need from cholesterol so we never can't just say that cholesterol is not important there are many foods that we eat in cholesterol just not in eggs but we don't panic about it we just panic about eggs because we say you know we don't want to have a heart attack we don't want high cholesterol studies show that whenever you eat eggs in cholesterol there's almost always the HDL which is the high density lipoprotein always goes up okay the total and the LDL cholesterol doesn't usually change at all only maybe in 20 to 30 percent if it does but let's go ahead and show you this when we talk about the HD also I want you to have an understanding if you are new here we look at the HDL which is a good cholesterol a high density lipoprotein the LDL which is the bad cholesterol the low-density lipoprotein when we look at this the HDL you can just see the importance of what HDL and LDL does okay so the HDL which is a high density it manufactures bile it builds the the cell it actually works with the membranes and maintaining the cells I mean imagine we're made up of cells it insulates the nerve fibers that if it doesn't insulate it we get neuropathy we get pain we get burning you need cholesterol it's necessary to absorb the fat style of vitamins A D and K it aids in the production of adrenal gland hormones that when you're under stress you need cortisol and you need those hormones to work correctly it works with the sex hormones I mean you don't want these hormones to work and you don't want to put cholesterol in your body that's like people trying to lose weight and not eating fat you need fat fat is important let's look on the other side the unhealthy cholesterol the LDL s too many LDL is they say can clog arteries caused heart disease eventually caused a heart attack a stroke and actually dealt death but I don't want you to panic about this let's look at something that very few people understand and I'm glad that you're here learning about this we need to look at the particle size the LDL s is not so much about the number of LDL okay because we don't want Heidi LDLs what lower LDL s but it's more of the size the particle size of the LDL in other words the smaller the LDL the higher risk of cardiovascular problems are stroke so even though your LDL may be higher but if you are having large particles you are considered healthier let's look over here here is a great explanation better than I can explain it here these are three people and these three people have a hundred and twenty-five milligrams per deciliter this is their LDL level and they're all the same but the difference between Jerry Susan David and Maria is that the particle size are all different see most people don't know understand this so if we look at the left 125 milliliter they all have 125 milligrams but Jerry has the largest lipoprotein particle and as we go to Susan David and Maria has the smallest well guess what Maria is highest at risk for heart disease or stroke or blood clots or something that could obstruct her arterial supply but Jerry can be obviously set free that he's completely healthy so I want you to realize that a lot of doctors today are looking at the particle size of the low-density lipoprotein all right very important now what they say about cholesterol particularly in eggs is that it takes the the the smaller particle size brings it to more of a medium particle size and brings it to a larger particle size so they're saying that eggs in itself makes the particle size of the LDL larger that's that's a very interesting thing I mean that's great news so even though your LDL s can stay the same it may not go up like the HDL s but it's making the particle size bigger which is healthier okay I wanted to share that with you so I don't want to jump all over the place I have some whole bunch of great information to share with you I hope that this will kind of give you a little bit insight there's my little man here thinking you know what should i do how many eggs should I eat you know this is the big topic here if you just tuned in I'm dr. Mandel hopefully you are going to enjoy this program and if you don't get all that here you can go back on my channel and it will be posted there so the other things realize people ask questions about the cholesterol all the cholesterol is in the yolk all right and and the majority of the cholesterol obviously is basically in the egg only yolk so the other thing I want to mention is that the blood levels of antioxidants in the egg lutein and zeaxanthin zeaxanthin I have a hard time say at Sam --then up that increases tremendously it's like astaxanthin that these particular carotenoids these antioxidants increase will say decrease macular degeneration decreases cataracts for eye health eggs are the amazing amazing whole food when it comes to your eyes because it will do like amazing things for you to keep your sight nice and healthy so as we say seventy percent of the people have no effect on the total cholesterol these are the these are the studies particularly they've done the studies for one egg they've never done their studies a past three eggs but there has been no negative studies up to three eggs alright so from that perspective so we talked about the particle size it gets larger the science that I be reading says that it's clear up to three eggs a day now as I say that I want you to understand something look at your health you just can't just eat only eggs if you don't exercise if you don't sleep right if you don't have good nutrition if you don't you know if you're under stress you I can guarantee that most people even though you love eggs it's like I love ice cream I'm not eating ice cream every night okay I love pancakes or I love waffles I'm not eating waffles every day even though I say to you that if I were you okay that I would eat eggs when I want to eat eggs I don't eat eggs every day but I eat three eggs and I don't worry about it people are so worried about you know eating the egg white there is no cholesterol no egg white but can you take a whole food that's molecular Li that that that that egg can grow a chicken or just hatch a chicken a life because that egg cannot hatch a chicken if you just if it's just yolk in there if or if it's just egg white it's got to be composed the whole molecular component of that life is designed with the proper enzymes the exact proper nature the way that God has designed this egg to be so Y disrupted don't worry so much about just cholesterol and this is why I'm kind of hitting this hard because I want you to understand that cholesterol is good for you and I said this that back in the 80s cholesterol levels were 310 320 that were normal but when the statin drug companies came out and they weren't making money they told the AMA to work with these doctors to bring down the cholesterol levels to 200 to give you statin drugs now they're making billions of dollars off of you it's not about just numbers it's the ratio what about the ratio the HDL to the total cholesterol if it's under five that's good if it's three three and a half it's excellent so look at your ratio people out there have through a 300 cholesterol but a great ratio and they have a large particle size of the of the of the eight of the LDL and they're healthy forget about the numbers that's a big crazy quackery and I'm to let you know it's a quackery so don't let people scare you you know use good judgment I always tell people speak to your doctors you know get your lab works done and understand what's going on so we looked at eggs and heart disease let's go ahead and put a egg up here so we can realize people come to here and they can see what we're talking about we look at people that I tell you that if you are going to eat a certain way you can't be smoking you know and drinking and putting poisons and toxins in your body and affecting the health of your liver if your liver can't metabolize cholesterol correctly so you have to realize that when we talk about you can do this well you can do any you can you can cheat the IRS if you live in the United States but eventually you're going to get caught eventually if you are eating it correctly and you're in your toxifying your body you're not taking care of it you're just eating preserved food with enriched foods and shelf-like food and not getting the enzymes and the nourishment inside your body then obviously your body is going to pay a price so the other hand when they looked at the studies of diabetics they look at diabetics particularly type 2 diabetics and these people usually do not eat the best lots of sugar a lot of simple sugars very high glycemic index and they realize it because these people they recommend not to eat more than one egg and they don't recommend eating more than 200 milligrams of of cholesterol now an egg has about 180 586 milligrams of cholesterol I believe up so they say you know they don't want you eating more than 200 milligrams not for the healthy person quote they don't want you eating more than 300 milligrams and a day that's what they're saying but you know you can listen to anybody the bottom line is is that it's not all about cholesterol it's about total health it's about the particle size it's about the total it's the ratio of the total cholesterol to your HDL which is the most important and realize that you get lots of body builders lots of weight lifters lots of athletes lots of basketball players and football players that eat 3 4 5 eggs every day every day they have perfect blood work perfect clearance they play sports they're active they're strong they exercise there are many bodybuilders and people who work out in the gym that just eat eggs every day part of their protein it's excellent protein it's protein helps you grow you need protein so from that perspective I think that's very important it's very high in choline choline that they say a tremendous amount of the population is lacking the choline is great for the brain so from that perspective I hope that gives you you a little bit understanding now let's talk about to some briefly brief things I talked about eggs vitamin A folate different B vitamins phosphorus selenium has zinc calcium vitamin D k vitamin E there's lots of interesting things in there what's important for you is that it's about seventy seven calories six grams of it as protein five grams are healthy fats the what I look at cholesterol you know the more you start panicking about cholesterol that's when you start you know looking at adrenaline and cortisol if you really know the facts it can really take off a lot of ease for you I think it makes a big big difference I think when you understand about LDL s and the particle size that's extremely important just realize that when you are getting eggs I recommend the type of eggs to get because we realize that all eggs are not created equal eggs from hens that are raised on pasture or fed omega-3 enriched feeds and predominately if I believe it is flaxseed I believe a lot of the omega-3s are flaxseed if I recall and the flaxseed is a tremendous amount of omega-3s now realize that when you're getting omega-3s in your body you are diminishing your triglycerides omega-3s you're diminishing inflammation inflammation is what's tied in to disease so if you can diminish inflammation your entire system is going to be healthy because any organ any tissue any gland any muscle any part of your body when it starts having inflammation your inflammation is what limits healing it causes sickness it affects your immune system I can tell you that there is no direct relationship with dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol there's never been proven ever it's never been proven there are people out there that eat tons of cholesterol every single day that have very very low cholesterol in their blood serum cholesterol levels very the triglycerides and there are people out there that eat more eggs and their cholesterol continues to go lower and lower and lower because the liver stops producing more and more and more it's just human nature you cut yourself your body heals the power of your brain communicates with your body through your nervous and energy this flows down your nervous system it's supplying and controlling your body healing you every cell in your body your body is a very very important smart organism it knows what to do and how to do it but don't neglect it you still need to take care of it sleep eat nourishing food food some fruits and vegetables lots of fiber so I really don't want you to stress out over this and the question here is how many eggs do I thank is healthy up to three eggs a day I see no problem whatsoever okay I'm not going to tell you that you should or you shouldn't but I will tell you that if you're healthy your body should stay healthy okay you'll be amazed and and what you want to probably do is that if you are in this egg mode type of thing just check your blood work check it three months six months see how it is see how it's progressing you may you may say you know what I'm eating eggs I mean the X amount of eggs per week and I just had my blood shot it didn't change from last time or it's better can you imagine you worrying about cholesterol now you say my blood work is better than it was before I'm eating more eggs well that should tell you something that should tell you that your body's healthy that you're manufacturing the right amount of cholesterol and it's doing what it needs to do because remember the brain insulates the nerve the cell membranes I mean if you look at the cells Google cells and see what cells are all about the membranes of the cell is all about cholesterol don't neglect yourself of good cholesterol good cholesterol can do wonders for you so we talked about looking over here because we're almost finished up when you look at this picture here good cholesterol which is the HDL s what it does this HDL is high density lipoproteins as they raise when you take in cholesterol they go into the vessels and they start looking like little pac-men and they start looking for those bad cholesterol and they start grabbing onto them like this and they take it back to the liver and so when it takes it back to the liver the liver gets rid of those bad cholesterol too what's floating around which is the LDL is the bad cholesterol and it spits it out and get excretes it out of the body so the HDL s are not only increasing but they're trying to help clean out the system these are like the cleaners the LDLs are like the sitter's they just sit there and they want to just grow which is no good but when you have high HDL s you're going to be healthy having high HDL s is really really important and that's something that I would work on now omega-3 can do wonders for you now I'm big with flax seeds I'm big with chia seeds those types of Omega 3s does wonder for the bodies it really does wonders and so don't neglect those Omega 3s I think it's probably one of the most healthiest things in the whole world if you want my opinion it really does miracles for the body helps your eyes helps your brain it keeps inflammation down as you remember we told you everything is tied into inflammation everything is tight inflammation you know there's a couple questions that come up is there any cholesterol in the egg whites no they can people still have this type of egg white mode that they that they don't want cholesterol about 186 milligrams of cholesterol it's all in the yolk I think that's important to people understand that and I'm not going to go into all the different numbers there's a lot of stuff that I can tell you about you can just google it anytime there's any last thing I want to show you now I think I got it pretty much all I really hope that you enjoyed this program I think it's it's important you know there's a lot of people out there that there are being misled and they're really being scared I mean look at the coke oil stuff that all this stuff is changing all the sudden for years people just putting it in cooking with it and and using it and I tell you after our last lecture that our that we've done on conditions herniated discs a lot of biomechanics as well as a lot of nutrition we're starting to do and I think because I thought you know a large background in that and that's something it's my passion and I'm coming around and it's time to really you know eat well and be well and stay well and what I ask you to do is to leave your comments below thousands of people read them they'll respond and leave them below so I can learn from you because I read a lot of these comments I can't respond to all them but I read I read them because as much as I can I want to learn to I learn a lot from my listeners a lot from my chatroom listeners and I'm sure I'll learn a lot in the future back on Facebook motivational doc is my fan page there go ahead and like that page I'll leave your questions there and leave whatever you like to leave over there I just hope that this came across well in all respect I am not recommending anyone to do anything I just want to leave you with the facts do your homework and hopefully maybe I took a little bit of stress away from you to give you a little bit more certainty this is a big debatable subject people are going to come in they're going to try to
