I watched this when it aired, and bought the DVD during the performance. I was 20, the attack was still fresh, and it was a weird time to be an American. This “concert” was pretty great. We got the weird Kanye thing, Ed doing this song, and Neil Young playing Imagine on the piano.

When the camera catches both Ed and Mike move from G to Cadd9 always looks so lovely to me.
It’s a stunning version. This era of Pearl Jam was so exciting (94/95) and that Merkinball EP is amazing. I know they did the Neil Young album but it would have been amazing to have a full PJ album based on what they were writing with the likes of I Got ID and Long Road. Thanks for sharing
When they came on I couldn’t stop tearing up. All the emotions from that whole terrible time. Just kinda felt it all at once.
