Ed Whitlock: The New Mile World Record by an 85-year-old

I'm 85 now turns 85 in March weather conditions were pretty good there there was a slight breeze now and again but nothing nothing too serious temperatures almost ideal I was hoping things would be better this year they certainly were last year but I'm not I'm not doing as much training as I was I was I would like to be able to do some time running in general most every day at the moment about an hour a day and I'd really like to do more than that I think I you know I held it together fairly well I don't I think I ran a fairly even pace I don't know what my splits actually were but I think relieved it's over so now I'm think I'm the oldest person to run a mile in under six minutes now now the oldest man to run a mile in under seven no I haven't done it under seven I've got to do that yet
