[Music] [Applause] Chrissy and I are back out here we're going to see if we can catch a few crappie we've had a lot of rain and stuff moved through over several days and we're going to show you how we're locating these things without using Electronics it can be a little tricky we're going to show you how it's done hopefully we get on some anyway temperatures are a little cooler than they have been here lately but we've had storm after storm after storm several inches of rain so I don't know how that's going to play out for us if you fish for Crappie very much you know that just a little bit of change can make a huge difference and you see I've got a Garmin 73 SV so I've got side skin and everything like that um I don't really use it that much we use it for the depth and you can see we're cruising in about 11 and a half foot of water and that's basically what I end up using it for now there's occasions to where I will use it for uh locating brush piles and stuff like that if I really need to um I'm just old school at heart I like to kind of look at the structure around me and stuff and just kind of figure it out I'm just the kind of guy I'd rather be throwing than spending hours riding around looking at something anyway stick around let's see what we get on Glenn's got him a little fish because I've got these stumps and logs that are stretched out into this little river channel here and uh the strongest current is going to be on this side there's some current here but it's not super strong so we're gonna see if we can stay on a few here In this River Channel this water's not but 72 degrees here this comes out of the bottom of that Upper Lake up there so the water that pumps in here is pretty cool coming out of the bottom of the lake now here a couple weeks ago this was a quite a bit warmer but we've had some rain and they've started releasing some water so it's dropped it about 10 degrees almost so we'll see if we can catch a few in here there's gonna be some tough fishing today we just had storms blow through it's overcast we've got current ripping through water temperature dropping Water Rising so some of these Bait fish I've seen skipping on top of the water I'm hoping that with all the other factors we got going against us that they'll want to feed they got to eat sometime they eat every day we just got to find out when they want to eat so there we go oh there's a crappie oh yeah I've got this little fish finder here just so I know the depth and I'm sitting in about 16 foot of water casting into about six to eight foot letting it fall just a little bit and then Slow Rolling it off that ledge it's a challenging situation but that's part of fishing you figure them out you feel more accomplished now there I'm on that log so I got hung on the log I see where the logs coming out in the water it's kind of difficult to see now I can see my bait underneath the water hung on this limb so I'm gonna do is reel down to it until it stops I'm gonna push back and it'll take that jig Hook off of there so it'll sit and and do all kinds of fighting with these things and break your Rod or break yourself off [Music] there we go feels like a better fish there or he's just feisty we go let's get him out of this net oh yeah that's good probably 11 inch crappie there get that jig all down in there there we go there we go pretty crappy there's a tree in the water right out here there's a log right over here and in between them out and about the 12 foot range I'd guess is where I'm getting these bites now the tricky part is I gotta cast kind of up current from where I'm wanting to be because the current's slowly dragging my bait back a little bit so we just kind of got a time where we're at and just slow roll through there um count down to about five or six I figure they may be feeding a little bit so they won't be as deep if I'm not getting enough bites we'll we'll go on down but so far five or six is working there we go there's another one all right there we go another 11 or 12 inch crappie they're thick look how fat they are once again we're using this PC phone Viper X 2000 I really like it and this bucks graphite by b m crappie spinning rod it's a six and a half foot spinning rod we've got this vicious Hive is six pound panfish line and we're using this underspin crappie magnet underspin with the Bobby Garland and this is the uh one that looks like a a Shad in the water it's it's silver you got a lot of uh flake in it a lot of glitter and they seem to really like it so that's what I've been catching them on down here anyway let's see if we can get another one [Music] there we go oh yeah yeah that's what I'm talking about all right stay in the water soon great eater great eater size man they are strong fish for no bigger than what they are oh boy let's see if we can get him oh yeah here we go another 11 or 12 incher there we'll call down the spank here you just gotta be willing to throw quite a bit fishing old school style when you find them you just got to sit on them and try to figure out what depth what speed that they want it stuff like that when you start getting some bites just sit there until you can't catch anymore it's hard to limit out on on one spot then you move on down check another spot oh there we go what we got here a little Bass
