all right you guys so it is time for another protective style i did this style in no time with these jumbo knotless box braids well kind of box braids so if you're interested in how i achieve this look just keep on watching [Music] all right you guys so let's get started so i'm starting off on this isn't freshly washed hair but i think i washed my hair just a few days ago and left it in about six or seven braids so before i get into the actual styling of the hair adding in the braids i'm going to prep my natural hair and so i'm just starting with my lotta body moisturizing milk i love this stuff i used to use it maybe over a year ago and i actually just went back to it before any protective style just always make sure your hair is is really moisturized and hydrated detangled all that great stuff before you know going into your protective style that you're going to have in your head for a while and then here i'm just adding in the melanin hair care oil on top of that so i wanted to keep my hair as stretch as possible so that's why i'm not using any liquid i'm just adding in this um the lot of body like as much as i could and then i'm finger detangling one thing i also never do is like blow dry my hair add any type of heat before a protective style because i just think that defeats the purpose and you can get your hair nicely stretched without adding heat to it so i've really been wanting to do some like janae ako type of like jumbo braids for the longest time i've been so ready to braid up my hairs so main concept came through at the right time so the first thing i always do you guys is i get the front of my head parted however like i want to so that's what i'm doing here just trying to get it as nice and neat as possible i can't part to save my life and in all honesty you guys i'm not going anywhere i haven't been anywhere i just needed a style so that when i do get on facetime or whatever i do run to the grocery store i look halfway decent so feel free to part as nice and neat as you please so at this point i'm just sectioning off my hair i ended up having 19 braids total and i'm just doing loose twists making sure i can get my parts as nice and neat as possible you don't have to section the hair first but it really helped it really helped me out so after you've got your sections we're going to do the base for the crochet so i have one section here and then next i'm gonna apply a little bit of gel around that section and then brush it back of course and then i'm going to pull out my baby hair i don't have the thickest edges so i i love this technique because it doesn't cause any tension to your you know your scalp your edges anything like that ain't no snatching edges around here not on this channel so next you're gonna braid about a half an inch to an inch all the way down i think you guys i did like an inch or or maybe more because i just wasn't paying attention but i unraveled it you know once i got to the actual braid so you don't need to braid that much i would say stick with a half an inch and then move on to the next section so just a little bit faster taking a section apply a little bit gel to you know get it as nice and neat as possible and then you're just gonna braid up the section about an inch well a half an inch to an inch down and then you're just going to move right along and do this to your whole head keep in mind where you're actually starting your braid because that is going to be the base of your crochet so that's going to be where your braid actually starts and this is how i'm looking right after the first row all right you guys so this is the hair we are working with today this is the aphroe natural from maine concept hair and i'm using their 52 inch i define easy knotless braid so they've done the work for you guys it's already pre-divided it's anti-tangling it's anti-bacterial and it's also pre-stretched so they give you three bundles per pack and all you have to do is just undo one bundle and the hair is already separated for you making it much easier to do your knotless braids do your crochet style whatever you intend to do you're able to just grab and go non-stop so now you'll be able to finish your styles much much faster alright you guys so for the easiest technique ever get you some knotless crochet braids going on i'm taking five pieces of hair for the front and then six pieces will be for the rest of my head but i'm taking three pieces right now and i'm just gonna crochet as normal so i'm just putting my crochet needle through the base of my braid and then i'm gonna hook the hair on pull it through and this piece of like this section here has three pieces of hair this hair is already pre-divided i can actually tell you guys how much hair i'm using which is amazing it's it's so hard getting all your braids to look the same and using the right amount of hair and this hair from main concept just like took the guesswork out of it and made things so much easier so right here i'm taking the other two pieces because remember i said i used five in the front and i'm just crocheting that through as normal and then because this hair is a little bit darker than my natural hair i'm just going to take one piece from each side so i have three braids well three pieces like you would do a normal braid and i'm just taking one piece of hair and adding it to the middle and just starting to braid so as you braid make sure you are tucking your natural hair into the you know the braid and also make sure you're borrowing hair like i'm doing right here borrowing the hair before you get to the very end of the braid so that your braid stays very um consistent very smooth stays the same size throughout and there's no like huge drop-off point y'all was so excited because i was like oh this is not gonna take me any time and this hair was so soft to install it was so easy i didn't really get any tangling i didn't have to like pre-section the hair and do all that prep work so i was very excited and this is what i did throughout my entire head just a really great tip for you guys when you are like sectioning your hair i should have said this like a while ago but i just thought of it when you are sectioning your hair and doing the base for your braids and just you know braiding that half of an inch down make sure you're not braiding too tight because what's going to end up happening is you see me crocheting this braiding hair through my hair once i actually start braiding to form my knotless braid it's gonna get tighter the base of your you know the base of your braid is gonna get tighter and it's all gonna look good but the last thing you're gonna want is to have a tight braid to start off with so a tight base and then adding more hair on top of that and then it's going to be even tighter that just defeats the entire purpose of this protective style so i'm about to lay my edges y'all and that face was because i don't really have any hope that is about to stay in this 95 degree weather but i'm using the main choice four leaf clover edge freeze gel which i really like um i typically lay my edges do anything around the perimeter of my head before i put makeup on because it just makes like a complete mess but i forgot to do it this go around i didn't end up dipping my hair in hot water like the ends because i like i'm like four or five days in right now like as i'm recording this and i haven't had a single braid unravel i just really forgot to but feel free to do the hot water melt method to you know seal your ends to make sure they don't unravel especially if you plan on keeping these braids in for a hot minute and to finish up this style i'm just going to add a little bit of setting foam all over my braids and i'm just going to lay everything down and the next style you'll see is gonna be the end result so stay tuned all right hey y'all so this is the final look so let's get into this hair you guys i'm gonna just be 100 with y'all i have nothing negative to say about this hair this style didn't take me long i did it in one day my hands weren't cramping the main concept did reach out to me to try this hair because they said it'd be easier for those who want to do knotless braids but you guys know my technique that i came up with i love that technique i'm so happy that so many of you have tried it and love it as well because you still get that knotless braid vibe without the knotless braid work i did not know that the hair was already split up so when i got it i was kind of like prepping my mind to i don't even know i was just like okay it is 11 o'clock if i start now i'll be done by 11 at night like i was prepping my mind to freaking like be sitting down for forever because i just didn't know how it would go because i didn't know the details of the hair but when i opened that pack y'all and i saw that it was already separated that is the most tedious thing in my mind getting the hair just as even as the you know the braid that you did before like that is the most annoying let's just put it that way and most tedious thing about um box braids is just making sure everything looks pretty cohesive and they've taken the guesswork out of that completely which saves you so much time okay so much time you no longer have to prep the braiding hair you can just open the pack and go so love it love i just love that this did not take me long to do y'all y'all have no idea and i'm so happy it came out like super cute i'm just i'm really happy right now i'm really i'm feeling good the hair is very soft no like funny smells so far no itching and i don't expect any itching um to happen not every company does this and these are like small things that i appreciate number one is i appreciate the fact that it's already like pre-separated because then i could really tell you guys how much i use for each braid like that kind of thing it's just more guidance for me to give to you more information that i could give so that you guys have a better outcome i also love the fact that on the back of here they've given you steps on how to actually use the hair i know this sounds really silly for me to be excited about it and the fact that they gave instructions but you guys don't know how nice that is especially for those this is maybe their first time doing box braids on themselves or maybe someone else they also give you at the bottom here choose your thickness so they have one two and three with how many strands so one strand two strand three strands i of course use five to six strands per braid i could have also made these braids a little bit smaller especially in the middle y'all but i'm be honest you know once you've been doing your hair for a minute you just be tired and i was like if i split one more piece of hair i was just done i was like i don't feel like adding another braid and nothing like that maybe i'll do it in a few days but i probably won't because i'll probably just wear it like this and be done with it i'm not really going anywhere so it's all good if you have a sensitive scalp they've already done the work for you um as far as getting you know those chemicals or whatever out of the hair i'm not a scientist y'all so i don't really know everything that goes into it but you know not all braiding hair does that so that is one step that you also don't have to do i also want to say even if you don't plan on getting like braids anytime soon i for sure would get a couple of bags just to have on deck um just in case you know beauty supply stores closed again and all that kind of madness happening again y'all know what i'm talking about so just keep that in mind as well so that is pretty much it for this video if you
