hey what's up and welcome everybody I am miserable and we are Popo in this tutorial we're gonna be taking a look on how to create this cell frame inside of After Effects without living it let's roll okay so the first thing that we need to do is we need to really plan what we're doing we have to know what we're doing or else we're just going to be just in chaos so the basic plan here is to create a glob forget about everything else is to create a glob get these edges flowing and then we're gonna create these connections then we'll add everything on top alright so we're gonna go with the simple basic hierarchy of creating details alright so go from the big we go to the medium and then we move to the small ones and mostly small ones are just you create one little thing and then you just duplicate it again and again and again and again that's something we're gonna see here before we start this tutorial you need to know that you need to get trapcode form that's all that's the only plug-in that we need and we need the videocopilot stuff which is now a necessity inside of After Effects so we're talking about orb we're just going to be using orb a lot too much or optical flare and chocolate form alright let's go so the first thing that I'm gonna do is I'm gonna create a new folder just so that I really need to stay organized so that I know what I'm doing the first thing I'm gonna do is the maze the second thing is I'm gonna say these are imports alright so this is where I'm gonna import all the pictures that we have attached so I just went into Internet and I don't know did some really high res 10k pictures because I needed a lot of information into the bump map also six gay was not enough from the Video Copilot website because the moment you start moving and zooming into the composition with your camera you will start seeing pixelization and I needed more pixels for that so main import and yeah I think that's that's about it all right cool so we're gonna go move to our main and we're gonna create a new composition so I'm just gonna click on your composition I'm gonna call this main time doesn't matter because we're just creating a cell frame I'll show you later on how you can animate things but that's not my main focus here so now that we have that's where we're gonna do is we're gonna create a new solid so control Y I'm gonna be using a lot of shortcuts so just catch up to that I'm gonna call this earth alright and then I'm just gonna go and grab or here alright or most likely you would need this ethics console you really need this and you need to map you need to map your shortcut here so you don't have to go and click here every single time alright so to me it's just control space and then this will pop up it's it's it's actually really amazing in terms of what you can do with it so I select my layer and then control space and then that's it I don't need to go here anymore so I'm just gonna go here and put orb and I'm just going to put it there so right now what I have is just a sphere in the middle of nowhere so what we need to do now is we need our map here and I'm not gonna repeat his tutorial so what I'm gonna go I'm just gonna go and find this one I'm gonna use I'm gonna use the the bump one so I'm just gonna go create a new folder I'm gonna call this maps I'm just gonna go drag that in and just put that there okay I'm just open it up so right now when you open it this is what you get all right so that's spirit all right for a for a bump map which is really cool now the next thing that I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna go and do the same thing for this one I just wanted was gonna call it the diffuse so diffuse it's like your colors so I'm just going to go back here and put the diffuse here and just go and call it up I'm just gonna win some space and I'm just going to put it here okay I'm gonna go back to maps and spring into diffuse so what we get we get that which is some spirit all right okay but that's not really what I want and we're gonna take care of that in a bit so right now we just need to go and create our camera of course this is outside of space and we need to see as much as possible so what I did was I went for an extremely wide stuff and I went into one hundred and thirty five-millimeter and now I can go and literally see so much of my earth so I'm just using the camera to this one so that I can rotate through everything I can use all the tools so if I right-click I can zoom in and if I middle click I can just move it like that and if I just left-click I'll be able to just rotate all right so I'm just gonna go and look for this for example the reason I don't do this or I don't do this it's because it's too mainstream and I don't like things that are so mainstream so I'm just gonna go for this one all right that sounds about right cool now the next thing that I need to do just gonna go and create a new background just because why not I'm just gonna put it there now this is too colored for this tile that it was going for so I'm just gonna go a bit and style this the first thing that I'm gonna do is again I'm just gonna click my layer go to the effects and I'm gonna bring tint and what it's gonna do obviously it's just gonna tint everything but what I want to do I'm just gonna go bring just black and bring it just a little bit into like that dark blue kind of thing and then I'm just gonna go here just a tad bit just a little bit no if we go back it's got a change just sprinkle now I'm just gonna go here and bring in two curves again and I'm just gonna try to darken this as much as possible in the parts where I feel like yeah that's a bit like that okay go because what I want to do is I want to focus on the links all right because if this is too bright and if this is too bright imagine if this was too bright and I want to bring all these things it's just not gonna work all right so it has to be a little bit turned down now that I have this what I could actually do I could just add a little bit of levels here and I'm just gonna bring this a little bit like that cool maybe just bright you developer slightly perfect okay so what can we do from here most probably we're pretty much gone for at the base all right so what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna go grabbing the haze and just put it there that's it yeah turn it down a bit just a bit cool so what do we need to do now is we need to start bringing our truck with form thing but before we do that let's just add the bump map again we did the bump map here so I'm just gonna go bring it down go to earth and calling the bump map and it's gonna update cool now we're having this read that's why I needed 10k because now it's bringing this bump pretty way better and I'm just gonna even drag it even more because I want to see more of that bump but the thing is I don't want to see this part off earth so I'm just gonna go a little bit here let's just bring it up a bit all right let's just fit it okay cool now what I can do I can go and start bringing my chocolate form and to do that I'm just gonna go create a new I'm just gonna create a new composition and I'm gonna call this form 1 all right now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to create a new layer I'm gonna call this form because we're gonna create a lot of forms and that's the whole point of this whole tutorial so inside a form what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go and bring the mask because that's all I need I just need this one alright so I'm just gonna put it here and I'm gonna call this masking and I'm just gonna go and yeah that's that's my mask wait where is it cool and I'm just gonna go back to my form bring in a new solid I'm gonna call this form go back to my masking bring it here and hide because I just want to use it as a mapping now I'm just gonna call and call in chocolate form obviously I only need one I don't need a frigerator camera real fast if we create a camera or no need if we create a camera what if we create a camera you see we have three layers and that is because we have three particles in Z so I'm just going to put one there all right and I'm just going to go back to my camera now I'm just gonna go and create individual because I want to put it in we call this the ratio of my composition I'm gonna go to 192 zero once you write zero and pretty good alright now what I need to do I need to go to layer maps and bringing the size all right so I'm gonna control the size of the particles with whatever date I have here so when I have white or black it's gonna be zero and what I have the other color it's gonna be one so I'm using the size to show dots are not show dots so I'm gonna go to masking and you're gonna see that but we're not seeing anything because we're not mapping it into anything it's like it's reading the layer but he doesn't know where should I put it you know should I put it in Z should I put in X should I put it why where should I actually put it and since this is just a 2d map so it's X and it's Y so I'm just gonna say except Y and there we go we have our map but what's the problem here it's that it's actually it's actually reading the white which is the water and leaving us with you know the real data that we need is not here so it's like we need to invert it so either we do this or either you can go here and you can create an effect called invert and it's just gonna invert your colors now if I go back so it's basically the same thing all right now before we do anything else I'm just gonna go back to my main just bring this here I'm just gonna go back to my main and I'm gonna duplicate the earth and I'm just gonna go to my form bring it down here I'm gonna close it I'm gonna call this a form now instead of I don't need a bump map instead of having to diffuse I'm gonna call in form now as you can see our form is now here but what's the problem is that it's uh we're missing quite a lot of things here all right we're missing too many things here so I'm just gonna go inside my form and I'm gonna add more particles I don't need Z it doesn't matter so I'm just gonna add more particles I'm gonna add in more particles here if we go back here there we go but what's the problem it's too boring all right I mean we have everything the same thing and one of the rules that I told you of details is having big medium and small and to do that we can do this in so many ways one of them I'm just gonna turn out better one of them is like that so when I go back you see it's already way better alright so you see it's already way better but we could just bring this into one maybe see okay and I could actually do the same thing for a passage if I feel like it you know but I'm just gonna say like 20% maybe awesome alright but we don't see them anymore alright so inside the globe what we could do we could even actually make it even pop even better doing this just because so I wanted to be sharp a bit and then we just add some more here something like that if I feel like it and then we could just change this to get what we really the kind of colors that we really want to go for all right so but that's not what I'm here for okay now that that is done and you feel like oh no it's still not that sharp well what we could do you do something crazy and calling a sharpen and in here you could just crank it up alright so when you crank it up he becomes even sharper all right so it's just it's it's really up to you to what you want but I feel like our dots are slightly too big so I'm just gonna go and bring this even down by putting 0.5 you'll see one but it's actually 0.5 so I go here it's way better this is it now I'm just gonna go an added aah I know it pops even better so the opacity is different the glow is different this is how I like my things we don't need two levels but what's the problem here the problem is it's everywhere and it's taking attention from everything now and that's not really cool we just need to focus on a certain area and to do that I'm gonna go inside the adventure the advanced option sorry and I'm gonna start to feather the edge all right so if I just go like like one you see if I go to one its feathered and if I need to feather this even more I could just you know I can just play with this okay so yeah so I'm just gonna leave it at that for now awesome now what can we do next what we can do next is we can start creating the little bit of the atmosphere here the first thing that I'm going to do is this is too plain so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to illumination color I guess and try to play with let's just say some colors there Levi went to something like this see if we can see something that we can because it's not because we don't have any illumination number yet but the moment I crank this up that's too much let's just put something like that then you start see and then you're starting to understand where do I want to go from here obviously one is too much so I'm just gonna go with 0.05 all right and I'm just gonna go inside and with different Nell I'm just gonna want it to be only you know just on the edge I don't want it to be here I just want it to be yes so I'm just gonna go to the crib friend el and just crank this up just crank this up like that you see that you just go somewhere like that ah that's a little bit better now what we gonna do is I'm just gonna duplicate this earth I'm gonna call this earth glow and in here I'm just gonna close everything I actually don't need the bump map I'm just gonna solve this for now I don't need to bump up I only need two levels I'm just gonna go here I'm gonna call in fill inside to fill uh just gonna make color that is something like that actually what I could do is just go and copy this one just put it here and obviously just go and call in it goes goes and blur Gaussian blur and just crank this up a lot obviously I'm gonna have these things here I can just fix them with you know repeat and it's pixel so I can just make this really big all right now maybe I'll need more than that all right so starting to shape up a little bit better I'm just gonna go through here and say screen and turn this down tad a bit so now we have work going there what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take this I'm gonna duplicate it I'm gonna put it on top and I'm just not gonna I'm just not gonna use the fill but it's the Goshen but it's set I'm gonna use it glow so I can have this but let's go increase this just top it just turn it down and then maybe just gonna back here there we go so when it comes to form we need to bring this even further yeah all right I think one of the problems that we have here is this one we don't need to glossiness all right but again we're gonna fix everything else when it comes to the look by the end one thing that I want to do here I want to create an adjustment layer and this one is just disturbing me I'm just gonna go to do your double layer I'm gonna call it C C for color correction I'm just gonna go here and call the sharpen and I'm getting trees this into 60 now we have these details I'm gonna make this even better by going and creating a noise and inside dis noise I'm gonna add in five and then we have that now we're starting to get there alright now it's getting there it's kind of like hey we kind of made it already I'm just going to go and pull in a curve make sure I go to blue just add a tad bit okay so you can see that we can control it's really everything now and we can unify everything as well so it's just adding a little bit of green scarcity of France just bit less all right cool and I'm just gonna prove this here awesome sit-up when it comes into CC I'm just gonna look it because I don't want to I don't want to touch it I don't want to do anything to it all right awesome now what can we do from here what we can do well we can do a bunch of thing but one of them is how did I create that edge that we're talking about how did I create this edge thing that you can even animate it well that is very tricky and to do that I'm gonna go and create a new map here where's it the masking all right so I'm just gonna duplicate it the reason I'm gonna duplicate it this because I'm gonna do somebody vacation in it and you finally modify it it's gonna affect my form and I don't want that because my form is using the mask and I don't want that so what I'm gonna do I'm gonna duplicate this I don't call it mask a edge right I'm gonna go inside of it and I'm gonna create a shape layer yes a shape layer what yes shape layer but Shh no shape layer what do you mean just watch so what I'm gonna do I'm gonna unselect it because if I select it I'm gonna start masking it but I don't want that so what I'm gonna do Yeah right yeah I'm gonna use a star definitely not today I'm getting just gonna hi I just there we go so I'm pressing ctrl and shift to you know to make this correct but you don't really have to make it correct you really don't have to make it correct I'm just sick of making I like making things correct now I'm just gonna increase this a tad bit and I'm gonna go and do some turbulent displace to this alright so I'm having this I'm gonna add a lot I'm gonna go with a smoother and I'm just gonna decrease this because I want this details here and I'm gonna duplicate this and I'm gonna add more smoothness to this I want stuff like that alright then what's next well what's next is you just alpha made it wait that's it that's it that's all you do wait what yes that's all you do you just duplicate this and you don't actually need to duplicate that now that I'm thinking about it you could just select this ctrl D and put this somewhere else now what are you doing poeple so what I'm doing is I'm creating the edge but the edge for what ah that's what I'm talking about so what I'm gonna do I'm gonna go to form one duplicate it and call this for edge I'm gonna go inside I'm gonna go to my masking edge select my masking alright just so that we can see this I'm just gonna increase this okay I'm gonna go to my masking select this select this I'm gonna hold alt or option in Mac hold alt and drag it on top of that what's gonna happen sit down there you go all right so what I need to do now is just add more particles all right and if I feel like oh it's too much it's too much all I can do I can add more pasady to this maybe but let's see how it's gonna look like so I'm just gonna go break in my farm edge in here go to my form duplicated I'm gonna call this form edge I'm gonna go to my form and bring in farm edge there we this is vintage and blinds all right so we're creating this window style effect and that's what I won't but what do you want to do because I want to create kind of like a TV Tech effect because this is thick I don't create this TV kind of effect all right so to do that I'm just gonna create for example this and but what is the TV shut the up TV all right so there we go now we can just you know play with this a bit until you know we get what we feel like and if you increase this and if we increase this you know we're gonna have even more openings but the width of this is what actually makes transparency here so what I could do I could do two things bring this into form then bring it into or or I could just linear color key this and take off the black da da da da all right so how would do is a technique that I used myself and that is called fractal noise so I'm just gonna create a new solid I'm going to call it effective mask fractal noise is so good it it's it's it's so good you can use it for hundred million things you can make thousands of tutorials with this look he's saying that where did you go papa for the last two years I don't know okay transform we're gonna scale this up a bit and what I'm gonna do I can use an alpha mate but hey I'm still seeing everything because it's not alpha I mean I'm gonna use the luma mate so luma mate is using the exact white and black data alpha mate is using the transparency data luma mate is using exact color data okay okay you feel me now all right so what I'm gonna do so what I'm gonna do a bottle of water I'm just gonna gonna bring this into one okay and I'm just gonna start scaling all right and then what I could do I could actually just bring in the levels and if I keep on crunching this all right so the edge she's gonna start feathering down and then what I can do I can go back to my main bring this in here close it call in for example earth and instead of having to bump I'm gonna call in exact edge hello oh yeah so what I need to do I'm gonna call this earth exact and what I'm gonna do I'm just gonna solve it for a bit and I'm gonna bring in a fill I should have just use the form later just go for something like and we could just just call this a screen you should see the earth there we go just and what I could do is I can cult before it cool oh I'm just gonna go to the threshold turn this down just gonna duplicate this and just make this even bigger I know what I could do you call me for curves before all this calling for a curve okay nevermind I'm just gonna really turn down this there we go I'm just gonna turn it down so now we have that blend but the problem is I'm still seeing it there again how it could fix that we can go into advanced option we can go to the fernell edge feather and then it starts disappearing okay awesome how far are we now okay we're at 41 that's pretty cool okay so what next what next should we build the next thing that we should build is before we go into these lines let's learn how did I get these kind of fixture well it's exactly the same thing again alright so all I need to do is for example go into my masking all right for example I'll just duplicate it I'm gonna call this make sure noise I'm gonna go inside my fixture noise I could actually just turn this off for a bit making you so lame I'm gonna call this the front bulb next sure and inside of here I'm gonna call this threat to noise I'm gonna bring it in inside the fractal noise what I'm gonna do I'm gonna go to transform before I go to that I'm gonna go solve soft linear I'm gonna go to block yep and I'm just gonna turn a little bit to complexity and I'm gonna go to scale uniform scale and I'm just gonna say no I'm gonna squash it and I'm gonna stretch this out of it and then I'm gonna make it disappear and maybe just add a bit like that cool now what did I do a good question so what I'm gonna do now I'm gonna pull in and then these lines and I'm just gonna maybe even more yeah something like that all right so let's test this I'm just gonna go back to my main and I'm gonna call and the picture noise hide it I'm gonna call in what is this yeah so I'm just gonna calling into that one I'm gonna call this extra noise and we're just gonna solo it because we just want to focus on it and I'm gonna add extra noise here okay one thing is I don't want the film okay awesome now we have it there so let's bring everything up cool cool cool cool cool all right so I'm just gonna go to screen and I think the vanity ins are actually disturbing us for now because we don't need that we don't need the clothes right we don't need this one don't need this one we could just leave this one for a bit just a bit yeah for just a bit okay and I'm just gonna go and just turn this down something like that and what I could do to make this even better and blend the end with the earth I'm gonna go with a tint and I'm just gonna go and copy this color and then bring it up now that texture layer is gonna be there and you know what's really amazing about this what's really amazing about everything that I'm creating now is that it could be animated you see that it is animated and not only like the evolution but it could actually be animated going and all the glitz tutorials and everything are bit showing you could actually apply it here all right now let's get oh no I'm just gonna go and make this as a guide layer so a guide layer is something that you can only see in this composition but you don't see in this composition in other compositions alright so we so I'm just gonna bring it down I'm just gonna put it into one and then I'm just gonna bring to scale down so that we started having stuff like that let's go okay so I'm gonna do is I'm gonna duplicate this globe so I can start seeing them see that cool let's render stuff awesome now it's actually looking like it's literally electricity I can just go in and make these this is - this is - we can just put this into 2.5 so we can see - you cool now we're seated there as well and that what we could do is take this one as well and no we don't need this anymore so take this one as well and as we said just know this one and just move it somewhere here or date it scale it down so that we can have on the other side of the map as well like somewhere here alright and you could just duplicate and I just go into masking not rulers and what I do is I double click to masks know the mask is covering everything now I double click so I selected the mask and then I click here until I see that ha ha I click now and if I drag it I'm gonna move this but what I want is control so that I can move them both and I can just do something like that alright so I'm just gonna like maybe five alright so I just want these and I'm just gonna go here and do subtract and just remove that so now I have like that Hollywood title kind of it's just something that I like to do it just makes me focus better keep saving I'm gonna call this illusion and I'm just gonna close it because I don't want to disturb it now what we need to do is we need to start creating those those things from here to here stuff like that to do that it's pretty simple there's a lot of ways there's this there's this plugin from Jung box called no treaty and what it does is it just leaks link things together but since I don't own it I don't have it I believe what's his name Tony's Agora iOS uses it a lot in his in his work especially early work nowadays he doesn't anymore but no it is early work he used to use this one a lot it why did you put it over original the reason why I put it over original is because I don't want to keep on creating solids for this obstacle flour locations I want to have all my obstacle flour locations into one single place all right and the only way to stack those is if I have it over original or else I'll have to create a new solid for every single obstacle flair cool that is done what I'm gonna do I'm gonna go clear all and I'm gonna bring in just a basic one I'm just going to bring in this obviously and I'm just gonna go into this guy just go into complexity turn off length is too and I'm just gonna go and increase the dispersed even more and just go here and turn this down alright I'm just gonna go into the mints and do exactly the same thing there we go so yeah the more the more the more you add the better the better the better and the better it gets what you could do as well I mean it's what this is a very long tutorial but what you could do as well you could just go into form again I'm just gonna duplicate this I'm just gonna go inside no not this one I'm just gonna delete this I'm just going to go inside this one go inside of it and remember what we have here is this one now what I could do is instead of having a form form you know like this one I could do is I could use this mask actually what am i doing I could just go to this exact edge or picture noise I'm just gonna go into the Venetian and just do a 90 degree so I can cut it here as well awesome now I will just go back here come back to my fixture noise duplicate it bring my picture noise to hide it go into my texture noise bring in the texture noise - perfect bring it up and this time I'm gonna do an add now the picture is supposed to be here but I'm not seeing anything because I don't have a globe just gonna add a glow into all this so you can see what I was talking about so we have texture details in there alright that's that's there and again I mean I could just go and turn this one off or just turn this one off there we go let's go back here all right and then we have more details and that's what I'm talking about it's that everything is now it's just about adding more and more and more details and for inspiration of all of this I think there is piling yeah it has got there's this guy to notice kind of inspiration there's n three and three designs okay so you have this guy he does he does a lot of detail kind of simulation he has this really beautiful piece you can come back here and you can see how people build detail so now you see this kind of things all right so having lies that's what we created it's it's it's this really exactly what we did so it's just a bunch of creating more and more details and doing these in one hour is not enough for me but basically that's that's the point that's how you know the more details you add it's least really exactly what I get it as you can see what I did here and I just want to take this moment to shout out to trap for
