Early Release: Michael Winslow Showcases His Voicetramentalist Talents - America's Got Talent 2021

I'm Michael Winslow I'm 62 years old from Orlando Florida and you may know me from the police academy I am a voice German list I used to be the man of 10 000 sound effects but we're into the hundreds of thousands now I don't know what to say man you are a legend to me thank you how do you do what you do and how did it start I always did this and this was just a part of me I've been making sounds since I was a kid so after high school I hitchhiked to Los Angeles and I didn't know where to go I didn't know what I was going to do I just knew what I wanted to do and then I ended up being part of this movie called Police Academy [Music] from there I ended up being part of Gremlins I got a couple of good lines like this and Spaceballs so I ended up doing pretty well but I stopped making movies because I quit the business for my children I had to raise them because I became I became a widower [Music] after raising my two kids I'm in a different phase I think this is my time and America's Got Talent it isn't a place for me to show everyone I still have something to offer okay I still have some sounds to make and there's still room for a little more [Applause] hey hi there how you all doing well we know you good to see you let's start with your name I'm Michael Winslow Michael Winslow obviously you know we all know you from the police academy movies was there like seven or something there were seven and space piles of Mel Brooks oh you did that tell me I want to hear the whole story this is fantastic thank you I'm a oyster Mentalist that's what I do yeah when I was growing up um I didn't have a lot of friends I was Air Force brat we every two or three years we had to move so that meant I had to make up my own friends my own movies my own soundtrack my own soundscape I just paint my own soundscape so Michael with all the success with all the hit movies you've had tell me why you've decided to come on America's Got Talent well my son Britain said this is America's Got Talent you can come out here and be anything you want instead of being forced to be something you don't right so this is the show you come to be yourself yeah so the time that I have I'm going to share it with you yeah tell you how thrilled I am that you're here best of luck thank you how did I get into this how do I make noises I don't know I grew up making noises I can't stop it man when I was growing up I lived next to an active Runway my father was in the Air Force so that meant every few seconds thank you that was me my mom wasn't prepared for that why is the six-month-old baby making noises now later on in life I learned that these sounds can get you in trouble give an example on an aircraft this is what I did not allowed to do this don't do that on the plane man if you go they're gonna think it's real I did that [Music] freaking cart now don't do that so to keep myself occupied my mom and dad gave me my first radio yeah best part about the radio you know any part of the song doesn't matter where it is you know that song [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Michael [Music]
