hello friends welcome back to our channel in this video I'm gonna be sharing my 5 a.m. mommy morning routine with my 8 month old this routine has honestly changed my life and has given me back some much-needed me time I know what you're thinking this girl is crazy and there's no way that I'm gonna wake up at 5 a.m. but here's the thing I am the last person to ever do this because I've never been a morning person but for the past month I've been doing my bus to wake up at 5 a.m. in order to get the most out of my day and it really has paid off but before we get started I'm gonna share with you my old schedule and why it wasn't working for me anymore so typically I wake up around the same time Jace would wake up which would be 7 o'clock because that's when he has his first feeding so from 7 to 8 on feeding Jace and trying to get breakfast started then from 8 to 9 I'm usually trying to get some breakfast in my system also feed Jace some solids and get my devotional started at 9 o'clock I put Jace to sleep for his first nap I try to finish up my DeVos and also clean depending on how messy we left it from the night before basically I like the place to be clean before I actually get started on work so then hopefully I can get work started at 10 o'clock so I have a full hour there to actually work before Jace gets up from his nap at 11 o'clock where I then would feed him a bottle and spend some time playing with him from 12:00 to 1:00 I feed J solids again and also clean up whatever mess was made during that time and then at 1 o'clock I put Jace down for his second nap and then have about thirty minutes to finish my own lunch so by the time I sit back down for work it's probably about 1:30 and I'll have until 3 o'clock to actually work because Jace gets up at 3 and basically from here on out the rest of my evening is spent focused on him playing with him keeping him entertained while also trying to make dinner so as you can see my work is highlighted in pink and then I just highlighted in blue a few areas where I actually get to spend time on myself for example in the morning when I have my devotionals that's kind of my me time but obviously I'm distracted so it's not fully me time and then in the evening I could potentially fit in a walk once Ritchie comes home and we spend some time outside you can see here that in total I'm spending about two and a half hours on work 1 to 2 hours on me time like maybe on a good day and then also I noticed the time that I'm with Jace is full of distractions so I'm not really completely focused on him so that's why I felt like I needed a new schedule so I figured that waking up at 5 a.m. I can start with going for a jog first thing in the morning I usually take you know a while to actually get up out of bed and get outside so by the time I'm done with my workout it's about 6 o'clock and then once I'm back from 6 to 7 I can spend my time actually doing devotionals and cleaning up any mess that was there from the night before so that I don't have to spend time doing that later so that means when Jace wakes up at 7 I could feed him and play with him for a bit and then get breakfast started so that from 8 to 9 o'clock I am spending time eating breakfast with him at the table and then once I put him to bed at 9 o'clock I will have 2 full hours here from 9:00 to 11:00 to just focus on work once again he'll wake up at 11 I will feed him we'll spend some time playing together and have lunch between 11:00 to 1:00 and then from 1:00 to 3:00 when I put him down to sleep again I can just focus solely on work so then he'll wake up at 3 and the last stretch of the day is just focus on Jace and make dinner so what do we learn here from the schedule on the right well my work was increased to four total hours my me time is increased to two full hours which is completely undistracted and actually spent alone with just me and any time I have with Jace I can fully focus on Jace because there's nothing else that I really need to be paying attention to so with that said let's get into what my morning routine actually looks like and I first wake up it does take me a while to finally get outside what I love about waking up this early is the fact that there's almost nobody out and a whole Park to myself it's gorgeous and quiet and just so peaceful in the morning I always make sure that I drink some water before I head out sometimes or even have like a granola bar or something because I need something to give me some energy to start my run I make sure to stretch or do a little bit of a warm-up before I actually get started on my jog and I also use Spotify I think it's so important to have a good playlist going because it will literally change the pace of your run like it's crazy but having really good upbeat music will seriously help you run better so I usually just jump on at the Spotify app and we'll find an actual jogging playlist so I used to use the couch to 5k app but when I first got started but now I use the map my run app because I want to be able to track my distance and my pace and overall progress so as of lately I've been jogging about one and a half to two miles and then I'll do a little walk for a cool-down before I go back home once I get home I actually take some time to do some very intentional and intense post run stretches I find that when I didn't used to do these I could not continue running and I was in a lot of pain but ever since I started to take this more seriously my running has significantly improved so after a quick shower I'll throw some makeup on if it's a filming day otherwise to be honest I don't really bother nowadays being in quarantine all the time I will grab my coffee you guys know that I love my morning coffee and if it's warm enough outside I will do my Bible devotionals out on the balcony which is amazing my Korean Devo is called get out of your head and into the promises of God a reading plan from Jeanne Alan and I will link it in the description if you guys are interested I'm really enjoying this one [Music] okay so those two hours that I get to spend in the morning guys just having me time is seriously life-changing I talked about this on my channel a lot especially for moms just making sure that you take time out in your day to take care of yourself and prioritize some things that are really important to your own spiritual mental or emotional health so for me that's obviously getting in the word reading my Bible in the morning doing my devotional and then also taking care of my body and trying to be healthy so what I love about that is I'm prioritizing two incredibly important things and filling myself up and taking care of myself so that I can pour out myself to my family because we're constantly serving all the time as moms and helping those around us and if we're not full we have nothing to give and so just taking that time in the morning to kind of like reset my mind and get my heart in the right place for the rest of the day really helped also it's nice because no matter what crazy stuff happens the rest of the day I know that I already got that taken care of so I don't have to worry about like oh no how am I going to make it to the gym well no one's going to gym right now I swear in quarantine but like oh how am I gonna work out how am I gonna fit this into my schedule it's like I already did it and so I don't feel like terrible at the end of my day when I'm like shoot I didn't make time to read the Bible today or I didn't make time to work out and I do want to say that this is a work in progress this routine only works if I go to bed by 10 o'clock the latest otherwise there is no way I can get out of bed that early so there's been days where it's been like 6 a.m. or 5:30 so I'm still working on being more consistent with the 5 a.m. for this video is showing you like best-case scenario waking up at 5:00 what my whole morning actually looks like so for you maybe it's different there's no way you're gonna wake up at 5:00 a.m. or maybe you have five kids in your life just looks different from mine the point of this video isn't to inspire you to wake up at 5:00 is to inspire you to find those pockets of time and your day depending on your schedule maybe you need to move some things around to just take some extra time for yourself and invest in yourself whatever that means for you so I hear Jase right now we got to go grab him actually 712 right now so let's go get the little guy and get our day started [Music] can we say good morning to everybody [Music] Jace has his third tooth coming in on the top I thought it would be a while before it came in but can I see it can we show everybody your tooth hello No okay maybe later than you guys tonight we just thank you thank you baby okay guys I made the mistake of not making this bottle before grabbing him your bottle while you crying my arms okay and I literally don't even have time to play The Closer so you're just gonna drink Nike this morning and that okay by the way friends we switch to Kirkland brand from Costco because we're saving a lot more money with this formula you get a lot more for what you pay for [Music] are you guys this top to the showing so clearly right out and it's just crazy like he looks like such a big boy with that top - coming out get it you can see it on the left oh my I can't even imagine him with like two top teeth it's just it's so toddler like it's like what the Hank are you not an infant anymore you were just born eight months ago dude stop having teeth literally don't know why I'm ever wear my hair down the most handsome guy in town oh yeah oh yeah you handsome oh yeah mama knows you oh yeah yeah can you stop being so serious that smile please so mommy doesn't look like a loony to it so at this point in the morning we want to start playing right Randi's McCullers [Music] Wow look how excited he just said Ritchie walks in the room and this is what happens coffee guys so yeah Ritchie will sometimes do his jug before mine or he's just up super early working so he actually works out of our room we have like a little dusk in there for him that's why you didn't really feed him this morning until right now but that was the cutest reaction James made so excited when he saw him and our Jace is just sitting there looking really depressed also if you didn't know we live right next to the train station so nothing likes them city's balance to wake you out of your slumber and interrupt all your videos that you ever try to film anyways Jase is doing a great job playing by himself right now it's probably only a matter of time before he makes his way over to the kitchen stools and tries to stand up but until then I'm gonna get started on breakfast it's about eight o'clock so I'm gonna try to hmm see what I can make Jase I think I'm gonna do banana pancakes which is just literally banana and egg and you can add oh well if you want I'll probably make me and Richie some eggs and like a bagel y'all know we take breakfast very seriously in this house so that goes for every day of the week even weekdays like I said she eventually makes his way to the kitchen stools this is his favorite toy right here but hey rich is keeping an eye out right babe okay I usually don't go all out on a Tuesday but Richie's brought home some french bread so I went crazy it is a BLT kind of there's a lot going on in these sandwiches Richie I don't even know how we're gonna eat them to be honest they're like falling apart and then for JC boy this looks gross but I mixed up banana egg and some oatmeal I'm gonna put a little bit of cinnamon and then just basically try to fry them and kind of like spear like oh shoot that was way too much [Music] what I like about this IKEA highchair is it fits perfectly under our table so we can go like that you want some oranges more okay he wants the pancakes dude he just doesn't like to hold certain food I don't know what his deal is okay so usually he loves the banana pancakes but he's just not into them this morning he was really upset I think it's cuz he's teething and so his teeth are hurting so he had a little bit of the oranges doesn't really want the pancake so I went ahead and just grabbed our happy baby organic teethers which he's calmed down now and doing them so you know sometimes that happens you make a bunch of pancakes for your baby and they just don't eat them are you happier now you look a lot happier now [Applause] [Music] [Music] that was good he went down really well today okay so now that I've cooked breakfast the entire kitchens a mess again it's 8:45 so I can quickly clean everything up so that I can feel good about starting work at 9:00 o'clock and I'll know that everything is in its place yeah so here goes cleaning round number two you know what actually the toys I'm not even going to bother because he's going to be playing with these for the rest of the day so there's no point in spending time on that I'm just gonna wipe down the high chair Zuko you want this yay okay guys the kitchen is clean it isn't perfect but like I don't feel like washing most pots back there so it's good enough for me to move on with the rest of my day because I am eager to get work started at this point it is officially 9 o'clock so I'm gonna head to the office which is the next room over paste so basically at this time I lock myself in the office because I just don't want distractions Ritchie is over in our room working I'm gonna be working in the office I've got my blue light blocking glasses on I'm basically gonna be just working the next two hours answering emails editing getting stuff done obviously by the time I'm done it's 11 o'clock and it's almost the afternoon so that's pretty much our whole morning routine I hope that you guys enjoyed watching it I hope it inspired you to maybe try something new with your schedule implement a
