Dwyane Wade sits down with Oklahoma State's Cade Cunningham

[Applause] he's one of four freshmen in the history of this week to be player of the year in the league and freshman of the year he's six eight and a freshman he goes out and demands the basketball kate connie that dude is special i love it though what's good i'm good how you doing man i'm doing good man so you came into this season with a big name you know coming to college basketball being projected as the number one pick in the nba draft how do you handle that pressure boy is it pressure i think it's more like opportunity kind of to prove that like even though they projected me as that i still didn't feel like i was known enough i still kind of felt like people kind of sleep on me at the same time so having that name and i was excited for it like i was ready to be able to be on the college basketball stage that's what everybody could see so why you think that you think it's because you're not like a classy or super super athletic player i think you know just because i'm not throwing all behind the back passes and and windmilling every trip you know what i mean like i know how good i am i make plays i put the ball in the rim the way i lead teams and the way i you know care about winning is the thing that makes me who i am honestly he takes oklahoma state and makes them much watch tv why do you think you've had so much success this season your first year in college basketball i think it's because i kind of put the team first like i think everybody likes a winner nice pass cunningham stolen by cutting hands there's that defensive iq he's a freshman that doesn't carry himself like a freshman it's crazy just a couple years ago i was just wanting to make it to college like i just wanted a scholarship offer coming to oklahoma state nobody expected us to be as good as we are right now and i think that's that's why the coaches chose me as a player here he has the ability to get wherever he wants here's cunningham [Applause] your older brother also is on the staff right yeah yeah talk about that dynamics man of being coached by your older brother yeah that's my dog we've already had this this crazy connection he's a dude that speaks the same basketball language as me so to have that on the sideline and you know in every huddle he's he's letting me know what he sees it helps a bunch he's a blessing to have around here for sure talk to me about how you feel about playing in tournaments it's something that you know i've grown up dreaming about i mean i always dreamed we were going to be at one seed just because i didn't want to lose any games but you know see we got with four seed now and i feel like you know something to prove i kind of like having that chip on our shoulder it definitely made us hungry and you know that's when we strive so winning this championship would mean everything honestly championships are immortal like you can never take a championship away from somebody forever you'll be able to see that banner sitting up there and be able to say that you're a champion so i think all that preparation has really you know helped me for this moment and now i feel like i'm ready for it you got a bright light you know i mean in the future it's very bright for you i love your game happy that i got the opportunity to have this interview before you know you blew up too big and i can't get this interview with you no i appreciate you i appreciate it really
