on its own, the soundtrack isnt incredible, but as someone who has seen the film - it works incredible within the movie. The soundtrack, especially contrasted with the use of silence, adds a totally different level of experience
I missed the bagpipes...
Not sure what people were expecting. Zimmer hasn't been a traditional composer for awhile now and usually doesn't construct his scores around prominent themes. There are certainly motifs that permeate through the score though.
The most important requirement of this score is that it feels and sounds like Dune, and in my opinion, it has succeeded. This is the atmospheric, disturbing, suspenseful sound that my brain has envisioned while reading the books. It has clear middle eastern tones, fantastic vocals, and whisper/chanting that captures prescience/ancestral memories quite well.
Sure, I agree that I wish the Atreides bagpipes were features more prominently, but I'm very thankful that we at least have the sketchbook. I'm very pleased by this score and interested to hear how it expands in Part 2.

I know the vocal portion occurs in the Dune Sketchbook OST, but I want the music that's playing in tangent in the trailer.
I thought the soundtrack was good, especially the track Armada.
Denis never has overly melodic stuff in his films. I think a lot of Zimmers melodic dune music will be included in the companion soundtrack of the Dune Art book. For example the music from these teasers were not in this soundtrack

Love it! Can't wait to hear the music during the movie tonight. I was hoping that the music of the teaser trailer (Tenet version) would be on the album. Maybe on the third album!
Not terribly exciting on its own but I'm sure it works better with the film. Overall I enjoyed the Sketchbook more.
Honestly, even without having seen the film yet, this soundtrack hits. Chills up the spine, especially with Ripples in the Sand. If possible, I’m even MORE excited for this film.
I'm glad the Sketchbook got released. This...score does nothing for me. But I have to say I'm not a fan of movie scores and soundtracks. I love Blade runner OST but it is actually a musical album just like the sketchbook, so that's probably it.
I'm sure though it will fit greatly to the movie.
