Mademoiselle you have to you have to go with her you can tell her what to do you have to go with her and she was of course so far behind on her first start and she completely missed the break and she did well to make up the ground she did engine yeah yes no as I say she show quality at home first time out I think you just have to forget this race that's why she proved the second time she went by eight lanes she was incredibly impressive beating this failure filly early motion who I think was a little bit disappointing she didn't improve more on her first stop which was encouraging finishing third behind Rio Angie savvier says she was well beaten behind down on the bio and she's fifty to one today she's a tiny filly so how much she will improve is um I think sort of open to some debate in that she didn't really move forward off that first start she goes for Mesaba Alma Harry who's got some nice runners tonight big night for him this is final song now if we're going off ratings she's rated a hundred and three 13 pounds clear of her rivals she's got some great form front from the UK Xuan and Ascot made and very impressively by five lengths were third in the Queen Mary behind raffle prize and then also third in the Duchess of Cambridge behind that the same rival but she's my Dark Angel most of those do handle the dirt I'd say yeah I believe it's that's the only question mark I believe tonight because she got bit by raffle price raffle price was the best two-year-old FINA for is Alicia Hamdan bin Mohammed so she's definitely house quality the only question marks tonight I believe it's it's the surface yeah absolutely and she will need to break well of course I'm so being sore as a fine record in this race oh and she looks his first ring it's evening we know say it sources are pretty much always fit and raring to go this Messiah Aryan Antonio froze ooh and this is a good reason amounts of Harry Bentley who was our guest on the winning line last night he was a little concerned about the trip for this villian you can understand why they last a couple of times we seen her in action was over the 2000 meters when she was quite well held at Chelmsford last time out on on the face of it her for it's pretty inferior to those to that of her stablemates I think you can understand why she's the third string of scythes this evening I think she's gonna find things a little bit tough she is she said we know that dick cut chance but on the or whether but all weather and dirt they're just so different aren't they yeah definitely yeah you cannot really compare that's why we were lucky to have Jebel Ali which was Monsieur first a bit a bit like the old way in between the two yeah it's back saying this is her mom I who finished eight lengths behind down under by Ola Stein that was a good run do you think she might get closer this time well I was I was surprised I mean not surprised but I was happy the way she ran like on TV I mean it was first time out first round so she probably didn't know what's going on and she still around a good race you finish when none of the by you was gone but she finish well yeah she finished really well she's certainly an interesting one a bit of value as well about 16 to 1 on the the UK market Savannah Rhodes being a little bit tricky to deal with she's got cool headgear on though my stars and stripes because not being easy at all though for the Francisco cash trade team Francisco yes have a winner here in the UAE ten attempts but he's got a good string here this year so hopefully he can can break his duck and she's probably gonna struggle I I think 33 to one would be about right but she did win a conditions race last time over a mile so she would certainly see out this trip that was back at home in Sweden as we look at last surprisement of Jim Crow le riding for simon chris videos got a very strong certainly numerically a strong carnival team here and this vide has been pretty busy she's had six starts in the in the UK won two of them and she was a 72,000 durham purchased initially at the Tattersall december foals sale she'd be a bit of a surprising winner on pedigree and that she's by known a never out of an oasis dream mare so not really bread for the dirts but I don't even see how she gets on and to give us an idea of where we are with the Simon Christopher Duvall they've got some nice ones and this is one from your yard what you know about pano Shawshank well I know a chick she's a bit more backward than none of the Bayou but she's very very very professional in his action and his in his work at home in our work so look for a first time out she seems to be quiet that's probably a good sign more on her in a moment let's say from Sivan though it's a warm welcome to Patrick Wall who settles silent night in our upcoming race nice to see you here you glad to be back in Dubai thank you very much thank you to have us in silent night she's she's got plenty of experience you think that might help her in tonight's race really sure there's a two-year-old may experience they're getting tougher and tougher so so yeah I would say that would help us a bit and she's run over further last time he worried about the drop back in distance tonight no no that would be that would be better to go back to it to shorter distance she we dropped her behind last time and that was the was really wrong to do that she didn't enjoy yourself at so she has a good draw so hopefully she's gonna be up there has she been training on this dirt surface here is it much different to what you have at home not really it's gonna be faster here and which she would prefer I guess is no it's pretty much the same unfortunately you've got one runner tonight but nothing too seriously wrong with the Red Hot Chilli no no you get the Bruce who abscess and he was fine today actually but we had to not run in today yeah he's running in two weeks I wish you all the best in silent night thanks for talking to us thank you very much Kadir there from Patrick wall wish him every success with that silent night is another daughter of Knights of thunder in here as we look at to Varsha who I saw have a bit of a spin round on this dirt a few weeks ago that she actually moved quite nicely on it she's another one you wouldn't be that convinced about her handling this surface on pedigree though she's a known a never that she's out of a war front mare which would give her a little bit of hope and the yard won this race last year with Al hayy who was most impressive she's one of the cheaper purchases here a Varsha just the 45 thousand Guineas and she finished fourth actually a very good maiden at Yarmouth I'm behind a city called jovial that's a decent form but say just a few things to be taken on trust up with her this evening we haven't seen Rio Angie the favorite for this race so we'll try and pick her up in a a moment or two but both of both of Salam's food he's behaving well so far which no it's a big night for him isn't it yeah I'm happy to see none of the bio quiet because she can be she can be a bit funny in her head so she seems like she took her race way last time so that's a good sign and did you notice a sort of improvement have you noticed an improvement since she joined you yes a lot it's not a you know quality because the quality has been there from from day one but in your inner attitude she used to be very very funny in a head-to ride in the morning and since we put the whole downer she start to be quiet and she's getting better and better learning curve for them I suppose isn't it but no one particularly boiling over Stephen as returned from look quite a busy parade ring nice mix of nationalities in this race it's not a freighter have a go and the more clued up of the Phillies walking around they do have that bit of extra experience the main I'll catch you from the parade ring was the saddle cloth certain I'm sure you've noticed zero six and didn't find just a six on its own confusing person but if you did and you're happy with the addition of the zero then good zero six is final song who will have a look at top class form this she's been a bit ignored isn't she she's I mean it's the obvious one of good often going onto the dirt for the first time but you know she contested group twos Group threes all the way since her very emphatic maiden success at Ascot not being firing Queen Mary's and the Duchess of Cambridge I suppose on that evidence he could suggest she might turn out to be a sprinter but they had options next week on the turf to runner she also held an entry perhaps rather ambitiously in the d'bari stakes and the way she faded out with things there admittedly on good to soft ground over 1400 meters does raise that the one concern for me being the trip but we showed you her win earlier in our feature but show you this again and get Savio's thoughts on it because I mean she couldn't have been more impressive really than winning the way she did I was early on in the season you know she's had a lot of time after to sort of get over those exertions which is something Doug Watson in particular likes to do this was back on the 7th of November but what did you make of this she was impressive definitely you know like every horse is from dog when they when they around they are already so for sure she was ready and they knew she had quality and she did well we just need to see if she improve on this run or no because she might have to improve Stephen because better horses in here but the second is that the form down rather majulah since she did she I mean she took on the boys next time but she she was disappointing obviously down under baio lost all her chance at the start so in effect it was a forerunner race and the time she posted was a second slower than down on debayer but the difference that between them was about a month so with the track have been riding a lot quickly went down on to beoh could be could be could be let's see because like again with young girls with young horses you don't know it she could be a good feeling so well first time out and second time out not that good so let's see how she improve on on this one I was saying since a via of camera earlier we're really just going on the the Pat Dobbs and Doug Watson say so with her to some extent because you know she didn't we don't think she did beat a huge amount there and it's really reputation I mean she did cost $320,000 so I think that's fairly significant there is a lot of depth to her pedigree regardless of what she achieved first time out so there's that in the favorite saying that under Bowser a half-sister to polka rhythm so there's plenty of depth to her pedigree as well so look it's it's one of those races we don't like sitting on the fence but it really and truly is a race to watch and not necessarily come up with an informed opinion unless you were absolutely blown away by either Philly's victory first time out which you know you have a right to be but just simply can't compare the two at this stage so this is why we have trials it's a nice sort of calm way to kick off the carnival with the incentive of the the gaddafi fillies in there who would have to be pretty special to see off what are already proven dirt performance I love the science roars never afraid to try those pretty much anything on the dirt which is a policy that's kind of brought him a couple more World Cups because thunders no no right to go on it I'm petty exactly and final song would have been amongst his best two-year-old fillies really you know the fact Sheena she was the one representing him in those big races she's had a nice break as well since you know any horse that runs at Royal Ascot they need time to get over it she did have another run or two but she's had time to get over that quite extensive start to extensive start to her career so she actually fares there are plenty of turf options now for the three-year-old so yeah never used to be the case really and I really have expanded this three-year-old program which is great so let's see how she gets on here I'm gonna stick with Rio Angie and hope that Doug Watson's right about how much he likes so imagine you're not deserting down under by you mention as well to her mama who I think can finish closer to down under bay oh she made a big race move that day just couldn't quite sustain it and I think a bourbon Hamish might well be primed for the start of the carnival a big night tonight for him whatever happens as they load up for our UAE 1,000 guineas trial a very good evening and happy carnival time to commentator Cravens we've the five out of the lineup I'm Trinity be making her debut is coming along a barrier blanket forward to buy and love had cars craving the settle Hema Mar is coming along about to load up see the yes shadow to go forward and Rio Angie International favorite now is down into Baio just ahead of a final song and REO Angie now they're all set let's the count of all begin for 2020 down on the bow just on the backfoot the gates open began well denim to buy off the inside very ill awake very quickly and final song out in the middle as well Rio and she bounced away well out wide on the track in the early stages there is last surprise that were followed by hammer Mar and divine love picking up ground down on the inside silent night followed by early motion then came Havana read up on the outer then came to vine Trinity bar sure down on the inside from good reason getting a long way back panel she'll sick and back at the tailor's see the shadow about to come off the back straight behind a lead section of 2446 and down on the Bayou railed through and showed the way over Rio Angie up to its flanks him second now three wide is very ill they were followed then by hammer ma men came to buy love and out three wide his final song with the white cap ceilings away then suit last surprised is getting a little ride along it followed by early motion down on the inside then was silent not as they count the top of the line in the rest ahead up by divine Trinity into the stride down under by youth and Rio Angie pretty well match Motors as they turn for ona the by love is and right-wing wins by two on down under by a Ong then came to buy love I get off in the field next across the line was hammer MA they were followed by silent night here an honor then came last surprise divine Trinity Havana rape Anna tschosik pin came fairy Ella while back in the round was early motion and followed by see the shadow then came good reason and Varsha one of the last to come in that was impressive final song Christoph Simeon and Satan's Arawa as a flash three between them and has come on to a score just a second victories first win at Ascot back in that may was excellent when it led all the way and then it just struck a soft track at his next start and then caught on really strongly behind the Goodwin raffle prize last time it got a little bit tied but given a break since then and that has been super super impressive first time debt for finals song as a jog up in the UAE 1,000 guineas trial Dillon Dubai you took full advantage of that inside drawer and a cracker in second and Rio and she's sitting outside the lead has boxed on strongly into third a headed to buy love they could often strike first as they have many many times to take the first race of the 2022 by World Cup Carnival cerise they been strong as one many times over the years including with fillies that have gone on salon the guineas and who says this really won't do that she was very impressive there's a VA I think you would have thought down under buyer had it indeed so did I and then like a knife through butter she split them and it was a good win yeah definitely like I mean earlier in the race I was not looking at her even like we were focusing on done of the Bayou and Rio Angie's we're fighting together but she had the strong finished she was impressive humanly was impressive and pretty she handled the dirt prove that as Greg mentioned the break that she's had since October the mid-season break that she had all very very nicely here and she's extremely exciting and the right horses came to the fore didn't I yeah exactly the to finish that had win their respective maidens were second and third and you know she actually quickens you don't often see sort of sea horses come with sustained runs on the dirt but she quickened through those two late in the day and that was that was certainly very impressive belong any doubts whatsoever about her stamina on that evidence you'd have no problem with uh stepping up to sixteen hundred meters of the guineas and perfect start for for soybean so run indeed Christoph senior on who's now when his last two races here at made under twelve million dollar World Cup but nevertheless he'll be delighted to get the carnival off to a winning start and done it from stall 11 which isn't easy at all and say just had to take it on trust that she was gonna handle this this dirt being by Dark Angel she's out of a silly called rocky yeah who was actually third in a French guineas and I suppose your your big boss will be very happy because it makes the raffle prize form look strong doesn't it yeah I'm sure I'm sure and it's nice watching at her I mean she was impressive and I believe she can stay any problem with that it's nice when the UK form comes through to the fore and holds firm here in Dubai yes improves you know that any sort of any trainer in Britain can can have a crack at the dirt really you know this filly would never have raced on it before she'll have perhaps had one spin around some made and couple of weeks ago just to get to use to the surface and quite often people tell you it's not a case of horse he's not handling it it's just a case of needing a bit of time to get used to it but she's handled it perfectly well straightaway you know the field did get well strung out early interesting to see just where she was in the earlier and I've got a feeling Christoph was just able to get her off the rail and not necessarily facing too much kickback he doesn't look to be covered in the dirt does he coming back so maybe he was able to get a kietryn round but still the way she went between those two fillies very impressive very impressive indeed the crowd are delighted I think they were mostly roaring for real Angie because she was the favorite international spec's she was a favorite on me the pick-6 but they're always happy to see Saeed bin Suroor with another winner and that takes him to 233 carnival winners in his illustrious career she got a blue tile or am I saying things like that a lot so the one race actually thought Gaddafi might not win this evening it's gonna be tough night I think for the internationals and maybe even a tough night for the locals based on that we know when the carnival starting and the good old things start to come me it's always harder but the good thing is it makes it more competition it it also gives us a chance to see where we are hmm as you say like when horse is coming from Europe and they have a good good rate and like how I feel I finished second from tonight that's mean she has quality because when we haven't need the local offices we are competing between us so we never know if some where is really the quality but tonight we have an idea I think we've said all along as well the Phillies are better than the Colts it doesn't necessarily bode well for next week does it in the two thousand Guineas trial but you can see the start and the die was cast really wasn't it down under Baio and rio Angie up there and yeah final song in the white cat Christoph senior I was just able to keep her for four five why just out of the kickback and I think probably one Richie Mullins filly begins to fade Pharrell who was again showing a bit of speed without sustaining it he was just able to then took her in behind and it's a fairly smooth race for her this point I wasn't really concentrating on her I thought Rio Angie probably had it because she seemed to be traveling better but it looked to me like down under Bay it was a scene out the trip better and what would you think about her coming back over a mile look she has bid and I'm not sure about the mile I think she really has speed both of them have speed more than stubbing I believe I don't think it's a case that they've gone so fast they've set it up for the third do you know one point two four four four is the time of the race 1.2 3 0 7 is the track record held by Ravens corner so setting it so the times not that's not too bad at all just a good result foresight been through right away through really because the ores they finished fourth with Dubai 11 a good run from Pacha walls for a silent night she's finished fifth had of her mama another of the locals who's finished sick but I'm sure Salim won't be disappointed with with down under by whom he she's running a great race we were right in thought she was better than Rio Angie I'm definitely sure he'll be happy even the big boss will be happy it's good like she she she won last time out and she proved tonight like she could she could run again so it's good for the future let's see if she can go on longer or if we have to go to keep this distance but it's a good run it's a good run and it's kind of a new venture isn't it for your yard I don't think you've had too many two-year-old fillies no no no fillies we had last year last year we had two fillies as well I wish me Karen foggy foggy flight yes and but we don't have that much fillies it's true it's a few in here that have struggled just being eased down at the back was good reason who very much look the lesser light from the save bin Suroor team but a lot to like about this filly she always looked to me tremendously gutsy final song I thought even in defeat ax but Roy Alaska knee beaten a length behind raffle prize he was ova says was a was a top class she was only just beaten in in a group won herself over in France raffle prize said the forum sizing really well with the best that the the two-year-old European and Phillies had to offer last year and the fact that she's gone on and done it on the dirt that makes her a very very versatile holes because not many can act on both surfaces a at a good level no it's Misurata who's another new one for him he's come from from the UK and you like what you see so far this horse you know from phone first it'll gallop he showed me he is or he will be stopped mashaallah he will be stopped because I saw his different horse okay mashaallah I think maybe because because he is coming more healthy yes he's coming healthy and quick is coming early yeah he came from from Charlie Hill zzzz rated 91 will you go straight to the carnival do you think I think yeah to give him little time to be coming more strong okay and you've been galloping him on the dirt you think you run on the first time you know because no choice now we will learn him on the dirt we should to gallop among the dead or a deal with n on the dead on the grass still I I don't know how he he's on the garden in front of me okay one day even grass but on account of me I don't know front of me I don't know how was he on the glass because different grass here on England but insha'Allah he will everyone they all will open their glass I will give him gallop on the grass before the you're quite excited about him so we'll when we see him we're going to have high hopes good to hear that from masala Brahma hurry about mr. Rafa I went into a tizzy now it's been a long time since the World Cup can you walk up night well and I started kind of quite good so yeah I'm very happy that was very impressive from final song to what degree did she quicken at the end or what the others to stop in a bit she quickened because yeah when we came out of turn the two horses in the front just keep going and they took off like three fallings from all the field unfortunately at that point that was behind horses going backwards so I took the inside option to save a bit of ground and finally yes you get a bit of kickback but it's always good to learn them to get a little bit of that because yeah on dirt races here you you never know if you're gonna have some kickback or not but yeah today she she did really well and I really like the way she she quickened the last 200 you wrote in England during the summer were there any worries for you about seven feet long trip today absolutely not because I got is a quite tough track and when I came back after the race I thought side that she will be better on further distance starting from six to seven for long and yeah on the flat track like here on dirt I was sure she can handle it and I even think she can hold on a mile the way she did it today she can relax well and yeah she does everything well she jump out the gates quite fast too so no she she got everything on the side Symphony couple more rides to come including Dubai like I see that near enough for your minimum Oy 55 kilos I come back from Japan so I look quite fit at the moment so yeah I mean in great shape and I try to stay on that so I'm gonna try to ride lightweight as much as possible and keep my fitness at this point and I'm very happy to ride some horses here and for sure when you ride just 56 and 57 kilos sometime you need some good ones so maybe it's gonna help me to get two or three different horses to bring me good rides and winners probably going to Japan will definitely help because they they waited quite hard the weight is hard and there's great horses so they're gonna come back here for the Dubai World Cup meeting also so we can find some great horses there so it's it's always important to travel around the world and find the champions it's a great end to 2019 great start to 2020 great see you back thank you so much 91 winners now here in the UAE for Christoph Sumi on who's going to segue nicely from having a top job with Mike Dukakis into basically number one jockey for say bin Suroor who's got her some very very good jockeys in his stable in the mornings including Gary Bentley who's just had his only road on the cardoons I guessed on the winning line yes they fat cosgrove also we're riding for Saeed and possibly Ashima for you who may well appear later on in the carnival but I think crystals very much Syed's number one isn't he they've got a good partnership ya know since few years Chris Duffy is the number one for so especially here well you can't go without him come on if I was trainer even and I could have him on my horses I wouldn't think twice you telling me he didn't win the French champion jockey title this year he does win it quote since his last title he said on TV I won't do it again because it's a tough tough work I didn't see my family all year so I wanted to focus on something different but to run behind the championship it's really tough for the jockey for the family it's not easy at all I believe like you you must have support a big support behind because you every day on the road driving to track the track so it's not it's not easy at all the top jockeys in in France fly do they have that much we are probably more looking than in England like the tracks are not that far I mean if they are far it's probably quicker than in England but mostly no we don't travel much by air cocktail or plane only like if you had to travel like from Paris to Lyon or Paris to stress both stuff like that yeah we could take the plane but usually we travel by car spoil here anyway like like when I see myself off today I have to go to a lane like it's only an hour 20 minutes drive yeah which I can't do it in a lesson hour and a half you must be going cool that's probably why I'm having mini tickets so you obviously drive like you ride straight to the front and the front yeah we do have a pretty nice program of events here in the US our first of three meetings this weekend will be aligned tomorrow I'm back here at Maidan one Saturday but the pressing issue are five more carnival races is what's coming up back to Stephen for more info on race to their race to a sprint very competitive to one race think a dolphin won't be winning and perhaps the best chance of an international success a moment of madness quite a warm favorite on the international markets before Charlie Hills who's still in search of his first victory here in Dubai that show you the full conditions then for this race Rove the flying five furlongs it is a limited handicap for horses rated naught 90 beg your pardon - 105 and the prize fund for this is one hundred and thirty-five thousand dollars first prize of 81 thousand by no means number one then pocket dynamo first start for silent Bing g'day Michaela Barcelona onboard to his rifle scope for Satish Seema richy mulle and three Caspian Prince the 11-year old he's been here done it before but not for a couple of years he's the mount of Cana Beasley ambience goes for pair Anderson gray Berg number 5 is the aforementioned a moment of madness who's the mount of James Doyle 60s Blee Blee brilliant very representing Guillermo eros Kurata he's got a great record here in Dubai a couple of winners from 15 starts also plenty of second placings in that 7 is Rocco 8 is Rafa who was looking full of himself in the pre parade ring booking and kicking his way around portamento is another one for the ally Russia del rahi ten is almanarah intriguing switch back to turf for this half-brother to Dark Angel 11 his trick bag for Tiger chez Susanna burner Clint and finally muta Rafa just heard about him from us our Brahma Harry Antonio fresh new rides that one really good race this I love these dashes they always attract a nice international lineup we got horses here from the UAE from the UK from over in Scandinavia from Spain it really is a top-notch event and the UAE China is doing something different notably though Watson with Al Manar but this is pocket dynamo representing your yard what key tell us about him well is is interesting horse first time for her so we would see where it is but a lot of speed is show a lot of speed at home it's not that big as you can see but quite nice horse he was a serious sprinter for Robert cow not being far at all Roy I someone since May of 2018 but run very very well in defeat including in a listed race at Deauville when last in action in July this is riflescope he's just a super horse for his new ish owners hot Scott racing who bought into him the end of season sale a couple of years ago he very nearly made it to World Cup night last year he arguably deserves the spot there having finished fourth behind a blue point in the maiden sprint here over six furlongs and that's my concern with him that he may just need a little bit further than this the way he kind of comes through the race and runs on late but then again they will go a lot faster which could play to his strengths he'll be pretty fit he was only beaten five lengths in the National Day Cup at Abu Dhabi last time over a trip that stretches him I would say over a mile its Caspian Prince an amazing horse on his fourth Carnaval 11 years old 11 years old it's amazing it showed like also I believe sprinters can can run like long compared to longer horses horses I can distance horses sorry then they run often and they seem to hold their form quite well he actually won a course in distance handicap back in 2015 did Caspian Prince who we were in him I kind of easy there is and he's now 40 pounds lower than that success he's had six trainers and he's now with Nick Appleby a very capable trainer indeed this is ambience he represents the ROI curve is up piranhas great burgers onboard this one used to been trained in the UK by Roger baron and those had to spell with mixed Shani's beautifully bread he's a half brother today now Shadwell stallion here at one two of his 13 starts at this distance and last time we saw him in action that was a bro park over in sweden when he finished second behind currently at night a British horse in the international race there one that I wouldn't want to completely roll out from quite an enticing price of 14 and there's Antonia Fraser who's got a good partnership massage it's been a good very famous yeah yeah good move well done to him and yeah they have a good season together mmm seems to work well I uh I've been grateful but they had a dismal very first meeting and then the horses came on in leaps and bounds this is a moment of madness he's got a huge chance here I I think for for Charlie he let's have a winner in Dubai was only had 11 runners more on him later we'll show you his most recent run and this is blue berry who's been winning everything in in Spain his form ties in quite closely with a brand says who went closing this race last year he's ridden by six-time Spanish champion jockey black laughs yeah no sec here what a few people whose opinions various respects fancy this fellow including Ron Wood at the racing post and our own Steven Molyneux he is good-looking horse he knew you wouldn't think though a son of so you think would be getting spring yeah we have to keep an eye on him this is s Rocco who is three from three over this trip which isn't to be sniffed at was a relatively cheap purchase 31,000 the Tattersall December yearling sales and went over to Scandinavia where he's been incredibly consistent over Yeager's Road in a bit of stomping yeah question mark with him he never run under turf no you're completely right never run on the turf all of his runs have come on the the dirt servers I imagine that they wanted to run over this trip rather than wait for a a dirt race or indeed running there in the d'bari stakes it does seem quite strange and this fellow you'll have ridden against many times portamento he's a gorgeous-looking horses in a you can win it well he has quality is by Shah Mardan I mean so this year Shah Mardan were like I mean not this year but Shah Mardan produces a lot of bosses which with speed in from Steven give us some insights from the parade we an anxious look at blueberry because he's getting a bit on his toes is he that sort of horse quieter first time here he looks a big strong horse isn't he yeah he's a very strong horse he's been very backward and now he's coming to himself I think he's I hope there is a little bit of improvement in him still so so was he I watched his last run over six furlongs on soft ground the the soft ground just catch him out later on do you think he's better on first ground I think and then he lost a shoe as well he's not raised so I think he didn't disturb the surface today and and we see he might be better over six but we try him over five today I was he sort of been by so you think he shouldn't really be a sprinter should he well I been thinking about the Derby in the Spain so I got the wrong by thing he's got the speed of voices rim his mom is out the voices room so it comes from him because he's form ties in with a brand test so you had his carnival cut short here last year but he's back and in good form here yeah well he injured himself after his first run he had the surgery here in the bay they did a great job and and he came back in the open in Spain he came back well good he won last time so hopefully we'll try to win this year again you've still got an excellent record here do you think both these horses can be competitive again yeah I hope so I hope so very competitive hopefully they'll run well first time out and then we can we can hope our the next races I wish you all the best great to see you back thank you thank you really helpful stuff there from Guillermo his correct he's got a good record here in Dubai two winners from 18 starters you heard him their comment about a brand says good to have him back as well as as blueberry and you quite like look at this blue blue don't you yeah look so it's like a power-packed individual he's not making things easy for fact love Janicek going down to the start this fellow's behaving him self quite nicely though what trick bags this is Amber negative what's gonna run him in the double we stake she took a look at that race and thought it was rather deep water but some he's the best of his form has come on the dirt um so interested here he gets on he's never won on the seven this is muta raffle for Mesaba who just so well with sprinters doesn't yeah what's up I can transparency he he's doing really well with them I really wants to see this was running tonight his form is on longer probably more on 7 of 7 and a half furlong but as you say Musa back entrance printer so let's see and 54 kid or knee on his back yeah two things very much very very greedy a bit of a concern about the distance his first run as you say over the the thousand meters and um Stephens back from what was a very informative chat with Guillermo there have been a while since his last winners here in Dubai with lovely Plantagenet and their to Peter but I he's trained us to be respected I think he said last year that the reason he didn't bring them back is because he didn't think they could win so he wasn't going to travel them if if you didn't think they had a chance but Horsley really well in the parade ring before and he was getting a bit concern that he was getting a bit on his toes because that's not his normal normal way of going about things but certainly impressed me in the parade what are two interesting elements to the horses going round s Rocco was doing the Zenyatta stomping on his way around and rapid was another one that was trying to wipe out anybody that got to it in a couple of lengths of his hindquarters so whether that's a sign of well-being from both or not more a bit of anxiousness I don't know but there's rifle scoping shot who's he progress really well at the end of last year and I can sort of see why in the parade ring because he does look to have filled out into a proper sprinter now he's he's only just turned seven and we know these sprinters can be late maturing definitely riflescope but the trips are concerned but given how he looks in the parade ring he might be able to overcome it by Ravens past and they do improve with age let's bring you some dunk caster for my moment of madness finishing second in the Portland a lot of people fancy him he went down to the start early so no issues and how would this fall matchup do you think it's rock solid handicap form in the UK these 22 runner prestige races are very difficult to win he actually won this contest twelve months earlier and just filed on this occasion behind opps did but you just see the amount I run as they're incredibly difficult to win you did very well in 2018 he's mark went up as a result and last year was a bit treading water in those in those types of races but he found his level towards the end and mark of 97 here he's certainly below his peak so you can see why he's of he's of some interest Charlie Hills still searching for his first winner here but only had 11 goes at it so hardly a damning stat behind him and yeah I can sort of see it reasonably well handicaps solid sprinter in the UK it's that type of race really isn't it there's nothing to stand out in terms of being notably progressive and it might just be the horses most consistent or gets the run of things as is the case with most Sprint's that comes out on top Caspian Prince that's one way again about things he will go fast from the front and it wouldn't matter whether or not he can hold on and that's what he tried to do in the group on flying five states at the Qura this was a back on Irish champions weekend you made a good point in the winning line it's only the second year as a group one it's probably in truth a little bit below that level far before the races like the the none Thorpe in and around there and hey Doc spring cups etc so it's a race it tends to stay in island and he just got run out of it later on as he sees one really in those types of races he wears his heart on his sleeve I actually thought he could perhaps sneak away a bit from this field he could well have a couple of lengths on them a couple of furlongs out and it's just a case of of whether he can sustain it one of the question mark that came to my mind regards him is that his season was curtailed in September given how often he usually races was it a case of the ground they didn't want to run him on that back end autumn ground or you know did he have a slight problem I don't know but look he's an admirable servant to makup well most the points Steven lauche who's you know certainly sauce quite a through quite a few yards he's now with Mick Apple still well capable I think amazing efforts of get to fall carnivals it just a bit more about pocket dying about for your yard Xabi aides one of the youngest sources in this race he's only a four year old and did he arrive quite late yes arrived late to the yarn but okay he's a small horse I don't think he really need that much works that's why it didn't take long for her to to run him he did a trial in Jebel Ali earlier to see like to check the truck he jump well it traveled well hallway it was not a race but in show like it was easy to under easy to right so that's a good point seems like to be relaxed behind the gate so everything it's positive I think is partially run with good horses I mean yeah not far from them so it has quality I believe let's see its first run for the photo yard so the rice and number two gates are back in their racing pocket Dunham I missed the start away quickly Caspian Prince along with blueberry ambience over on the inside and holding up his L menara s Rocco trick bag portamento the grey horse with the yellow jacket riflescope was poorly out his back over on the inside they were followed by Ralph it a moment of madness now getting into his stride out in the middle followed by park at dynamo and murder Rafa was back at the rear down to the course proper 520 meters to go and Caspian Prince the old boy just led ambience going up to tackle at now oh man our over on the inside in portamento blueberry trying to snake between them a moment of madness out in the middle of the track followed by riflescope front runner is Caspian Prince led by a neck over Elma now Ravenna more than Amanda's portamento blue Barea battling away elvenar getting up on the inside goes by Caspian Prince Melbourne are switching to the surf has been a winning switch alma narrows to good and almanarah races away by two and a half second in his Caspian Prince now blueberry looks to have got third just hit a riflescope portamento a moment of madness and his rocker caught the eye late running on very strongly they were followed next by raffia two men came pocket dynamo who blew the start trick bag well back and ambience amongst the tail lenders with murder Rafa almanarah who one of the turf before coming out here pretty well exclusively on the dirt in the UAE so far and it's acquitted itself well they're switching to the other turf here for his first run of the new season by yet Doug Watson's cheap move Dana Neal took the ride in almanarah has fought very strongly the 11 year old caspian prince and a terrific race in 2nd and 3rd 'old to be blueberry for Spain running a terrific race first up but he'll menara will take it out the seven-year-old to bring out win at number 4 from 17 career stats and a second win on the tooth but yes but first-ever run on the turf here in the UAE a winning surface switches Craig said therefore Doug what's a new often likes to his horses to run on the dirt and indeed he wouldn't have had much of a choice when Al Manar arrived because I wouldn't have been I'd say too many turf opportunities at the time of year that he wanted to run him and the horse took to the very very well that was impressive wasn't it beat isn't good European sprinter sir yeah well done - Doug Watson and his team because I mean we don't have ready form here and we don't have ready any race to run on on the turf in UAE so before the carnival I mean so yeah well done to them good looking wholesome I remember he beat me on the dirt with Pirates Cove it's very quick very very quick horse it's pirates guys pretty quick himself and you made a good points even that perhaps because Amin rr1 first up on the dirt they thought him on that I wouldn't even put him up as opposed to follow the first year we came and they said he he truly went very easily and he was just in that sort of grades I mean if I run against drafted in the guard sprint first time out and maybe he's just an out-and-out 5/3 long horse of course we don't have five furlongs on the dirty rat made and so they were perhaps trying to stretch him this was actually his first crack at five furlongs for seven-year-old that's that's pretty pretty good going but so now he's won that fairly decisively took a nice lead from Caspian Prince quick and that nice thing we had a Dark Angel win the first we've now had a half-brother to Dark Angel win the second amazing sire I'm an otter by shamah dog and they struggled a little bit with him with sauce shins I think his second season here they couldn't get him quite right but he's always been a horse to catch fresh but the interesting thing is I don't think this was bland a because he's got at least one entry this season definitely definitely entered whether he was declared and a non runner or just didn't declare but yeah they certainly considered running him earlier in the season so find out what's the whether this was plan B C or D or I doubt it was a certainly he was he was shown by Jim Crowley but so great for for Dane O'Neill who you know this time of year Egan he's obviously on the second strings and Jim Crowley rarely gets it wrong so nice for him to to get a good carnival winner first up this was off a mark of 93 he'll go / a good few pounds and you know he's rated higher on the dirt in the past so he's sort of getting back to that sort of level judged on that display yeah it was a classy performance indeed and he had a couple of entries I think he might have been in the d'bari stakes as well Alma Nara so they were obviously sort of given this a lot of thoughts and Watson having a fine season here in Dubai that will take him to clear now at the top of the trainers championship possibly only only for a day before the Arabians swing into action tomorrow and Sawtelle goes in hot pursuit but sir he'll be delighted to have uncovered another perhaps a sprinting star here and why don't you if you found him at Hobart eight to one and suppose that any of the Europeans were that disappointing apart from a moment of manners who dropped out alarmingly I thought he's gonna win it once they seem to make his move more towards this near side didn't he and eventually faded out of things and it was perhaps one of those races where those in the sort of fourth fifth sixth and seventh categories they close late until the past tired horses Caspian Prince stayed up there throughout blueberry he ran a good race he was back in third riflescope did run as though the five furlongs just caught him out mister brake a little bit as well which he intends to do so back at six furlongs they'll have a competitive carnival with with the riflescope but this fella pretty sure he was always well placed and took over from Caspian Prince in the first six I just wonder where they're making his effort away from the rest of the field has just told on him late on yeah quite possibly portamento run a normal sort of portamento race and finish six behind a Scirocco who filled fifth that sir Mark Connolly one of Doug Watson's Foreman to the left of the horse and no Connolly very very knowledgeable man know Doug's longtime assistant to the right and they will be delighted I think they originally planned to run X Y R on this card and other very good sprinter in the yard so I've now got themselves another one which they will be very happy about indeed so one for the locals anyway but we knew get off and weren't gonna win this because they went in it it Stephen said earlier on but we'll take another look at the race and see if we can pick out any I catches ya pretty slowly way was pocket dynamo in a bit of a disaster there for me cow you don't want that misprint do you but let's see it was first run first run in in for her so let's see how we come back and to more formal I wouldn't be giving up on him at all he remains a top class sprinter he'll have plenty of options that's a good thing there's a lot of lot of sprint races at the carnival motor madness is in the in the pink to the left I thought he was traveling very very nicely at this stage and soil they've all kind of the the the principles have all been sort of on that that far side almanarah was drawn in in one Caspian Prince just this often happens to him he just finds one too strong in the closing stages he is very much a 5 felon horse it doesn't get a great deal further than that and riflescope is run on but classy performance from Barry run a good race probably it'd be a bit better on six furlong mm-hmm over here but it has a form on Pfeiffer long but it seems like here it probably needs six because he finished well good-looking horse yeah yeah he's quite a big horse as we heard earlier on he might just take a little bit fitness right wise from that is his first run in 74 days blue breathers dear old Caspian Prince I expect he'll be kept quite busy throughout the carnival but Al Manar are who say I think he's probably been a bit frustrating foot for Doug I think he's a horse they've always held in very high regard and last year as Steven mentioned think she didn't go quite right firm he was getting beaten up a lower level than this really they tried a few different things with him stretching him out to 1400 meters but maybe it was just a question of trip with him because he's always travelled beautifully into his races and and I always thought must must be a lovely horse for a jockey to ride and then just wasn't quite getting home so we'll find out from Doug whether he thinks it's the surface or the but this that's made a difference with today no Neil and joiner and okay she's in here in the UAE sign - a countdown you're doing a very good season here in the UAE it currently sits second in the owners championship behind Carl Akeley for Allen óbuda and he won this race sir last year with fastener who was accepted for the carnival but I don't believe is going to arrive unless he arrives right at the end he's always done very well with sprinters of course but let's hear from winning connections I'm joined by Doug Watson victorious sorry with the al-manar was that plan a B C or D it could have been d I don't know I know we were talking about his work at home has just been okay he used to work really really well on the dirt his runs last year he didn't run a bad race but he just wasn't firing like we thought he could and we thought we'd try him on the turf one time and it obviously worked out very nicely so we'll keep him there but again sometimes in America they got a little theory of turf the dirt so in my head I was thinking we'll give him a run here see how he goes get him fit his first run of the year first run a long time and then maybe go back to the dirt if he doesn't win but I think we'll stay here now they're so impressive on the dirt you probably get believe that you have to stick to that surface don't you I do yeah that's kind of my theory all the time so the race came up and he looked like he fit and and you know he hasn't been trained in poorly he's just hasn't been firing in his in his work at home on the dirt so we thought we'd give him a little change of pace and it worked out well so I get a lot of nice horses for shaking down so it's nice to get a carnival win for him here please do no.43 OMG I was you know we had eight weeks in between and and she does so much on the bridle at home so easily she had a good blow coming off not taking anyway thing away from the second in the winter but I think we'll come on a little bit she scoped good after the race and you know it's three weeks back I didn't want to wind her up too much and have her over fit for this and then you know three weeks back to the guineas that's our main plan hopefully that it goes as planned and we come back there and and she'll be ready for that you got to the next one asked you about drafted just how much of a setback did he have did it put you off track too much I know you missed the guy who'd it has put us off the track I you know he's got bad feet he had a hind quarter cracks last year he's got a front quarter crack now he's had a great two weeks and you know we have to run more we have to run he wouldn't be 100% fit right now but he's still in great order put on a good weight looks a lot stronger this year and I think the pace will set up for him and if he's got his kick he should come home alright great stop the carnival wish you all the best with the rest of the runners tonight appreciate it thank you they're way too pressure off the red stables handler then Doug Watson gets a winner on the board earlier yeah then perhaps he might have expected although he did of course have high hopes for Rio Angie but he's ever so helpful and candid saying that wasn't really the plan a 4-hour menara there is designer shake hands drafted returns in 2020 with some unfinished business the grace on a field Commission could manage only fifth in the golden Shaheen on world cup night but he may have gone a lot closer if it wasn't for some interference at the start it was a bad draw for him he hates the kickback when he gets the kickback he doesn't have that he broke to good on the night and so he was up in there and then when he started when they started to pull away he just got the brunt of the kickback and he doesn't go forward in it and he needs to go forward as much as he can so that his kick isn't too long he flew home and he's a nice horse and gives you a hundred percent every time before all of that draft has cemented himself as the best dirt sprinter trained in the UAE he beat a strong field in the ocean dagger sprint before once again showing some breathtaking acceleration to swoop late and fast in the maha belgium out on Super Saturday drafted has momentum comes up on the outside of nine below zero he fights hard titoki between them as drafted nine below zero dropped a port of affront pulled away and drafted wins by a half over nine below zero Thursday sees drafted make his seasonal debut in the jibawi stakes a race in which he was beaten twelve months ago his late finishing cake came all too late after getting pinned behind some retreating horses this time around things are likely to be different and his trainer is very happy with the way he's training you know he had him last year he's got fragile feet but he's coming along nicely and worked very well and you know things are going well with him you know I think once we get his feet completely sorted out he'll be a he'd be a force again this year hopefully the races on the road to the golden Sheheen should be drafted sort of taking once again with a fast pace almost guaranteed drafted can be a maiden marvel as we go through the race card number one is new trails for Conor Beasley and ACMA have been how much to soldier and do by the amount of Richey Mullen three mangu Zi Fernando Haris monserrate for Mikayla Barcelona five he's one of those six tree tried and true for Sam hitch Guardsman Doug Watson seven is above normal Tiger che and Satish Seema eight do by icon amount of Rowan's Scott nineties festival ages Fabrice fare on rides first start for Ishmael Muhammad tennis furnace furnace doesn't go now 11 grand are GMT a 12 his piece of history another non runner and finally sin deed for Antonia freshly and Saeed bin Suroor got the visor on for the first time yeah it's trace immensely kind of race dog Watson is more familiar with with winning really you you could say and wonderful to see they're all grand Oh Jen CA make it back into the carnival after almost being sold at the end of season say hola she represents our biggest syndicate here new trails this is a good horse he ran in the Dubai World Cup can he improve on that effort last time in the answers are I believe I mean that's why he probably wasn't ready first time of the season but he's probably more happy now with him good looking also gorgeous looking horse he did win first up last season but that was in a much lower level as they ended up in the Dubai World Cup and was pretty much put in his place then by Thunder snow but didn't come back with a little bit of an injury so excuses this is so tiring to by who I think is a pretty consistent horse and he ran a good second behind military law in the enters our last time Ali a you know a little bit didn't want to sort of heat too much on his his chance is every solid horse yes definitely sorry chance finished second bit Gronkowski gonna go ski was further in this race probably host was gonna go forward don't be surprised to see him leading again tonight we wish him a good luck could win this I think I mean it's just say that form the head of Gronkowski's is strong he's a big horse himself who will have taken plenty of benefit from that run and technically this is a dropping grade he also beat Montserrat last year horse you know well finish i finished six with in mind Maktoum challenge third run of the magnum challenge I went with him first time in you in I mean his first winner was with me in UAE is a great horse great horse let's see tonight but is it good for this is mine Guzzi Gilani Siddiqui ally our ah he's assistant said is the best chance of the weekend which I wrote down on a piece of paper because I thought that it's really interesting information bearing in mind they've got a lot of runners including saml later on anyway mangu sees having his third start of the season he was a star last year finishing third in the UAE I'll be behind plic up off a bit disappointing first up perhaps in that listed enza's are when he finished behind Saltire in dubai and they backed him out relatively quickly and ran him behind secret ambition in the dubai creek mile and there is dear old Montserrat's we said you know him incredibly well um i'm bit surprised we haven't seen him so far this season is everything been okay with it okay we just took a bit longer with him but everything was fine and you think he's he's one to jebel ali states he did better at Jabulani well i don't think i mean he loves jebel ali is well is good in jebel ali but in show quality also in Medan but same again this was has to have the perfect race unfortunately tonight we don't have a very good row but if he's if he's right and he is in the good mood he can do it I don't think Mikhail's written him that much has he he was second on him behind Saltire in Dubai but mostly it's you and Royston that they're riding this is tried and true who won a very good race as part of the card that Doug Watson swept all before him winning all six race did he beat walk in the Sun who himself has been well beats and since but we know walk in the sun's a good horse and I think tried-and-true has a has a big chance here yes it went well a bit walk in the Sun he bit me as well I was on BDB at this night yeah but he's a solid chance as well 53 and a half on his back at all some hitch got riding tried and true because they a lot of the horses in here wrong at the weights and dogs wouldn't be now to get down specially 3.5 so he is the first strength for the yard I would assume this is above normal who will get more on Steven from Steven on him latex he quite fancies empty he ran a very good race I signed behind gold and gold who himself is carnival bound and this finally ran on really well and if you look back through his form the best of his efforts have come when he's got a lightweight and he has just 53 kilos this evening the boy like on was favorite at one stage for this race in the UK which surprised me a little bit because it's a far from guaranteed to adapt to this dirt his damn his half-sisters two or four sisters a street of dreams who won round here on the dirt made an but he's by new approach we wouldn't have the best record on it and for all that we've just seen earlier on Howard Epps IEDs with his dirt horses winner with the filly a few things to be just taken on trust with him I mean his first start since winning York back in October and this is Festival of Ages who goes for Ismail Muhammad here the odd have had relatively quiet start to the campaign it's often the case and this guy drop standing trip from running over 3600 meters he'd be a bit of a surprising win only yeah it's gonna be surprised with the best or night mmm yeah it's a big wholesome here's a big course it's nice Sun a mad ugly door amis dirt bread so there's a lot of sense running him on this surface and you can't go further than 2,000 meters on the dirt at the carnival so that's their kind of having to run where they have to run and grind Argenti I picked up a good race over 2,000 meters beating furnace as we said earlier on all rise for the very first time for EE RC and he's another one who he doesn't now have to leave but he does does sit forward and the remarkable thing that the Doug Watson yard have reported this year is that the age of eight grand agencia is looking better than ever they've somehow managed to turn a corner with him physically in there they're very happy with him and I wouldn't rule him out he went up four pounds for that win last time and say he just seems to be a bit more tractable with age it was the case that he kind of needed to go out in front not the case anymore it was even just in burn of the ERC of course saddle a grand Argenti in this been there done it before looks very solid but you believe better than ever potentially this year yeah I think he's improved as I mentioned when we run a TV when he was gelded the year after that he just seemed to not drop a bye buddy he lost a bit of condition and he didn't put it on that whole season and enduring as somebody sure he's strengthened up he looks a lot stronger horse so he just said to brett ease is one off 94 in the past I mean I know with handicap changes today is officially running off 95 but if he if he gets into a rhythm he's got a good chance mr. Simon it was obviously a listed race well worth winning he went from the front and that you might have hassled him a bit on talent oh yeah I was next to him all the way and perfectly creditably kind of think this is his mark he's last two wins I think have come off 102 so might just find one or two to go but it's another good effort you have mangu see back in third there he's back in fifth beg your pardon he's run against sins behind secret ambition it's altering devices when those rock side horses these handicaps sit nicely for him he's got the early speed and he kind of just grinds it out it's just a case of whether something's just got that bit too much speed for him late on what do we make about new trails off that effort last time it was as easy to be disappointed but I think you said at the time you know obviously bigger targets later on and the yard form wasn't great at that stage I think out of all gates the back and they're racing and Dubai icon gypte first up mr. by three lengths and having to be chased up as mangu Zi began Wilson V Dover on the inside driving through now is festival of ages it gets up between horses and takes on the front new trials is going to try and slot across their tails they were followed by Grand on jetty a next of all van is so Terran to buy now improving was to buy icons from the inside then above normal tried and true and they went back to the rear with Montserrat acetyls at Fiat ad for fielder 25:56 as they tend the back inside 1400 meters to go first of all of Ages shows the way a lengthen a quarter over sin beat in second man goosey up on the outside of Grand on jetty a next of all is new trails just tapping to be healed along a fraction over on its inside is defy icon then came next of also Terran to buy tried-and-true Montserrat and above normal over on the outside of the rear about to turn off their back straight now with 900 meters to go and the front Ronnie here is Festival of Ages and extends that by 4 lengths service indeed is runners race mangu see the chaser after this leader now a new trails goes with it and grand on jetty go picking up ground next of all who's sole Terran - bye VIN - bye icon Montserrat above normal and tried-and-true in the yellow tries to pick up ground festival of Ages the leader 550 meters together satyr Nina festival of Ages / new trails around the outside of mangu Z running introduced old Terran - by under persuasion / on the inside Grand on jetty aided by icons badly strung up between them as above normal runs down the outside festival ages has got the stitch here joining it out in the middle is so terran - by van here Bob Norma with a burning rana above-normal goes up so talented by - by icon embody Weiss gets into the clear and finishes on grant on Jimmy I open the inside about normal rate since delayed above normal Arthur so Tara the background on the inside so turn the by months read a breath away into by icon a huge run they were followed by new trails next in was Mancusi tried-and-true next to close that I was Festival of Ages has caught up quickly after leaving a last him was Cindy de Ferro called great finish I think grande on Jerry a that was my initial thought the naked I will have a look at the slow-mo replay and see what that says above normal charged up on the outsider so Tarrant up I look like either one of those would probably win it inside the final 100 meters grind on jetty and monster out was a cheeky run over on the inside but it will be grand on jetty a for Brett Doyle and Doug Watson to win in an absolute blanket go above normal to run second probably so Terran 2x4 third but it's very turbid monster at and to buy icon who got dropped on his nose at the 300 meters and his first go on the dirt has been that more than encouraging behind them 159 33 as the one is time 159 33 we stand by for the numbers after the third race what a great finish we don't often see that on the dirt it was almost like the finish to a a turf sprint handicap so close up between the mall the grand Argenti a is a thoroughly reliable horse and he will have the many owners in e rc celebrating long and loud this evening they will be absolutely delighted I thought it was gonna go to the team are above normal and salts are and to buy for him really battling out in your horse a V a monster rats so unlucky wasn't he yes unlucky half of the bendi could not go anywhere he had to wait a lot but he finish well look first run of the season so it's encouraging for the for the rest from next time almost couldn't use his whip there he got stuck in Richmond to use his whip properly and it just got hit Ricci rather than his own horse but obviously didn't stop him from winning and yeah like you say very very strange race I think you say the EIC was shouting but you always couldn't hear there it looks like a stunned belief that the horse was acting good coming in winning because you see he was out the well not necessarily out at the back of the midfield and off the bridle which is not really his he's white he's way of running but he's really poked his head worked through there and the four of them are finished within about a neck they'll probably barely go up a pound between them and will be set for the same race in a couple of weeks time and then the same race in the listed curling handicap it was a really interesting race to watch because the horses that we thought would go forward didn't necessarily I thought surrender by grandeur gentie I would be will be on the lead but for Reiss Varane knowing that his horse stays 2 miles and then somewhat straight out in front on Festival of Ages actually as drops out quite quite timely and alarmingly in the end but actually run a good race for a long way and your tip above-normal nearly did it didn't he hit the front and I just thought that was it but whether the trip in the end 1900 meters just got to him the way the race was run in particular Tighe might being the perfectionist suggests that he got there too soon but still a great run another great run from Stettin miles Salter in Dubai as well that photo for third still ongoing between him and Montserrat and Dubai icons actually run well in fifth in the end as well for for good dolphin he took a while to get used to the dirt surface but come on quite nicely but it was that that sort of race where maybe there was a bit of cheap late headway to be had and potentially Dubai icon was one of those that there benefited from it one thing right it's evening I didn't think the boy icon would win that race and he did it maybe I should just hit pause is not to win uh-huh there is Justin burn at the back of the the horse who bought him back at the end of season style last year he would have looked a little foolish had the horse gone and one I'm the carnival for someone else look the reserve didn't go very high though the price didn't go very high I'm pretty sure they'd have had him in that fair old walk of a price there and got their money's worth but yeah even if you'd gone for three four hundred thousand dirhams it'd be would be feeling a bit sick now given how the horses progressed but you know syndicates need to buy and sell horses too to keep afloat and restock but thankfully they they kept a kept hold of this one and you know said earlier that they had the greatest year last year perhaps if started this season very well and just you know get a new stock in and out and I think they'll have layers running next week which they'll be looking forward to and it's been an excellent start for them yeah doesn't get much better if you're innocent get then have a carnival win oh when we look at race again we'll pick up the hard luck story who undoubtedly was Montserrat this happened last summer and Argento one that there were lots of people free ERC but none of them actually in this horse hopefully a few more people ah this time he's one of these funny horses didn't ERC tend to do this quite often he's got no right to be a dirt horse by Palace episode the best Palace episode I think would erase and post trophy or something and yeah he's not not had a massive amount of success in fact grand Argento could easily be the best thoughts that he's that he's produced but one thing that Palace episode did he was sort of he went in the soft ground he was a relentless gallop I'm not saying soft ground horses automatically go on the dirt but they just they are fairly relentless and that was the case with this performance as we take it from the start and was the one that missed the break grendizer gentei didn't have a lot of early speed first of all the wages and he was one that took them along he said the first three at that time with the least likely leaders for me yeah my goosies again been disappointing son deed you should say in second there and debacle actually does his are plenty of credit for finishing fifth after missing the breaking for a horse having his first start on thirties faced all the kick back their monster was sort of widest of of all breaking from from 12 but obviously Macau decided to go to the rail which ultimately hasn't been a good place to be because he's ended up being quite boxed in hasn't he which you can't predict as a jockey but it's not ideal look but is a bit away from the kick back at the rail so he could have liked earlier of the of the trip the host wasn't ready in the in the game you know it was but then from here he's got absolutely nowhere to go which is unfortunate and he would have been hoping people were gonna sort of drop back around him but he's actually followed the winner through grand Argenti a and it's just sad absolutely at all meanwhile up front festival of Ages still going okay at this point if you think for a brief second is he gonna hang on which would have been quite remarkable and they've really had to dig deep these horses she can see above normal when we get the the trackers date data for this race it will say he went an awful lot further than some of the others salt siren Dubai and the noseband has come through as if he's gonna win even new trails he was off the bridle a long way out was come on nicely but monster right now finally has racing room but it's too late yeah look it's a good run first time of the season absolutely come on a lot for this and do icon yeah I agree with Stephen I catch him run that he obviously has handled the surface better than I thought and just looking a little bit uneasy over the line there but looks after bite Fabrice piranhas Festival of Ages so a great night for Doug Watson so far perhaps not with the horses he would have expected oh boy as well grand urgency a nine years old now super purchase for the ER say a few years ago this is his fourth win here in the UAE from twenty eight starts and he'd have been at the carnival before two seasons two seasons ago and just really cut it didn't seem quite good enough drops out of carnival contention and then that win last time of a mark of eighty nine which came back at the start of December saw him go at the four pounds that he needed to be back in this some in this grade and these are generally these nineteen hundred meter two thousand meter races are among the weaker divisions at the carnival I think it's fair to say could often aren't often so strong in this and we do like the internationals certainly this year when we don't have any Americans here but that's good for everyone who has horses and supports racing locally these are the races that's Assisi Mar and Doug Watson a tryna win and indeed your your yard as well cuz fair to say really that solemn is it's very very good with in particular der horst isn't he yeah look Sally Milan with Sheikh Rashid in Satish so they were really full and Sheikh Rashid was really focusing on the American horses so they learned a lot with him sure what we make of new trails after this I still think the yard we get to really find their form I may have been harm I should have just been under a bit of a cloud hopefully things will turn for them soon because they're a powerful yard and they adept at training resources things just not quite right there at the moment I don't think but some I'm sure he's a better horse he's been able to show here new transit have a lot of weight as why we should point out sixty kilos in the rest of the field at least to a good season to remember you're after I mean the horse run really well last year I mean all the young free sana Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum to his major partnership three Zen home mount antonio fresh for championship has his first start in a handicap since 2016 5 is legendary lunch reappearing for Fozzy now six flight dawn 7 is lansky 8 su dois the class act in the race hence the top weight in the 9 year old ridden by Danny tur taupe knowing these Dubai legacy Christophe Sumi on getting down to near his minimum weight of 55 kilos 10 is in burly happier back on the grass and finally as ma'am the amount of sesh cameras your Mesaba Alma Harry also training that one they're all in draw order for upcoming listed handicap yeah one of our think 7 listed handicaps we now have at the carnival we've just had the one before which was the girl in handicap but several races receiving upgrades this year which is rather nice to see him is Adorama Harry we just heard from with Emma Malik could actually potentially win this with that Zayn home or more likely as man both of those would have a sort of outside chance in your yard well represented here Salomon get a with Lansky now I think this fella is going to be much happier back on the turf like his first run for the yard was a group tree and he finished third it was a very promising run juh partnership he won last year's Carnival providing Jack Evans start with his first winner here in the UAE Pat cosgrove rides him today and 54.5 kilos is pretty light for Pat's and he was a big part of sapien straws work riding team in the mornings and he was a bit of a surprising we know when he pops up and beat above and beyond to a major partnership because the time before he'd been well held over the same course and distance behind escalator I don't think the drop down in will be too much for a problem for major partnership and he wouldn't at all be a surprising winner yeah obviously in very good form he's a pound lighter as well pound lower sorry when he won that race last year what do you think about xenon here and he's a bit of a tricky horse isn't even he did win at Jebel Ali earlier this season yeah it went in lower lower level in Jebel Ali front of RI DT so it's not really high class awesome no but he had a good run behind shift them as well in Jebel Ali and look 53 kilo on his back let's see yeah I think he's a little tricky when he he beat as she said I read it see which wasn't a great race he did have the visor on for the first time which my Sabra is used really quite effectively this season three or four winners with first-time visor that cause graven Christophe Sumi on there kind of easy and Danny got hope top jockey from Europe indeed had a good go at the run well actually the jockey rode the good race yeah he rode him really perfectly trouble behind the lead the rail open he went on the inside and he said like 'hey-- he kicked early and he stayed on that so now it's another level I mean yeah it's a quite a hike in the weights as well up seven pounds for that win right it's so really beating golden Jaguar one of the stars of last year's Carnival and an over a trip that I never really thought he was he was best over 1,600 meters I always thought was about as far as time Oliver wanted to go I think he's better over this trip so they suddenly have found the key to him their group twos a beer mile and last season his form was actually very good he was only four and of course the lens behind to buy here in the outfit he defaults then after that it tailed off a little bit but it was a run full of promise that I would Abby last time I'm gonna be beaten six cents behind Tamil and he will have improved a lot for that effort so we'll see him in action later on and show you that bit of form from Abu Dhabi have a look at 0-5 he was legendary lunch who won a Presidents Cup at Abu Dhabi three starts ago which was also back in February that was under Harry Bentley Tagish I rise tonight for files enas just a bit of a concern that he's been off since April files he sources often need a run don't they yeah I believed had you debris I was riding this one the other morning and said I sort of implied that the horse would probably need his his first run of the campaign my spare ride for our seven-time champion jockey tygo sure though here and this is fly at dawn who's now join me is man Muhammad team used to be with Charlie Appleby he's been off for the as part of a year 336 days he's a winner here at made and that came in a 2017 UAE guineas trial he's mixed dirt and turf quite well throughout his career it's two wins on the turf and one on there the dirt so far only do you want on the or whether he's a versatile sort I don't see him winning this though his miles team yet to really hit full stride for the season it's well enough though I discrete cats over to you for Lansky is also using travels very nicely in his races yes he loves to travel on the brother and again if you can repeat the the first one he did for the yard last season it can it can be very dangerous no agree that was an amazing first run for you energy say very good group company hasn't actually won since October of 2017 but let's see more from Stephen yeah I'm joined by enas who settles legendary lunch in our upcoming race so I could see if he'd been a bit of a rush to get the horse here for this race so we might have seen him at Abu Dhabi by now not many got into I tried in the orange resort there he faded out of things the eventual second gold and Janko he comes through from midfield but now it's a good ride from the front and tunnels well drawn to try and pull off something different something similar here it's not as easy around made an - to make all the running he always look like holding on no that limp in the quarter to win the listed race he's gone up seven pounds as a result I mean a lot depends on whether he's one of those horses it's just really benefitted from the summer if he's a completely different horse to last year then he could easily follow up my concern was he had enough chances off lower marks last year to think that he might struggle here and lower dirt marks as well at the end of the day this is these ideal conditions fourteen hundred meters on turf and he wouldn't often have had those sorts of conditions so I can easily see him running another big race suspecting quality will probably quite keen to just get a maybe a lead on this occasion off off championship more than anything simply because it is that bit harder I think to make the running on the turf here that compared to having yeah I agree Debbie this is our lone international in the race alone proper international really swayed while gorgeous horse and he really sort of we found his best form last year at the age of eight not then he'd gone off the boil completely but he just sort of suddenly stepped it up another gear this is the Shadwell turf mile over at Keeneland in the states where a race which she'd actually won in 2013 he finishes third Vinci like a train behind Bowie's hero this is quite the step down in grade really isn't it savvier he's listed race today should in theory should be easy for suede well but it's not that simple but sixty kilo as well on his buck so it's an indica it give advantage to the horses was carrying like lighter weight than him but the horse look good doesn't it looks good David I'm Aaron not surprised because suede I would have been one of his best horses so you often think when they're trainer runs their best horses they're always there but a busy time of year here in England were on e January the second maybe this is just tearing him up for there's a bill mile or perhaps the nearly all in let's hear from Craig Evans once again bury a blanket for divine legacy already a four-time went up a championship coming up towards the gates in the white maroon divine legacy Simeon and Devon Sirois looking fair stick and winner of the night legendary lunch for tiger che coming along so to Emily at the back is there as mom to come forward and fly it doing so we're almost set by legacy a like dominant international favorite as as mom goes forward slide on with the next and we'll be right to go starter in position 1400 meters for the maiden challenge it all set now they're racing straight out the back was as mama door so slowly away in Valley it'll go back towards the tail Tom all began well when struck the lead into second position is major partnership and our championship pushing up on the outside suit why refraction Waverly from legendary lunch next of all is saying a homer going up deeper as mom after a poor stuff in came Lansky fly at dawn getting back in the field to buy liquor see trying to slot across behind the pack and in Philly was that the rear down the side they turn 25 62 was the lead and Tom OH shows the way for Jim Crowley up on the outside championship in second so Dwyer is around the outside third followed by major partnership as mom the red kept going up deeper between them is Zane home then Lansky fly at dawn in valayan Dubai legacy sees the entire field as they come to the top of the straight Tommo shows the way out I just on a half-length / Championships food wire up on the outside now revved up wider is those mom as they turn in their major partnership follow been buys a known to by legacy is going to have to try and pick a passage through and legendary lunches down the outsiders tombow giving a little major partnership getting up on the inside sweet wire is Garan my design home pintu by legacy by chapatti ship snakes up on the inside went to lead charging high design on down the outside to major partnership races clear major partnership are linked on a quarter seconds ain't Honsou dois stayed on well for fer just ahead of tamil and close-up on the outside was to buy legacy next in was as mom they were followed by championship Lansky legendary lunch in Valley and back at the towers fly at dawn wells hugging ride there by Pat cosgrove major partnership the early double for he'd been through that major partnership has been able to take it out in a second winner here at Mei done from his fifth start at the track and have any luck whatsoever it's two runs in the summer into into autumn back home strike a lot of trouble of our Scott and also wet Ling field that a beautiful wet right there by cosgrove and major partnership rails through takes it out Zane home cover ground terrific run gets into second and Sukhois as they're fought on strongly into third we stand by for all the numbers after the maiden challenge well a big win for Pat cosgrove who wasn't on the first string here for Saeed bin Suroor but as Craig said there he's ridden this horse beautifully to give the gray his second win here in the UAE and he's in versatile enough animal because his last one came over a bit further than this over a mile when he beat above and beyond off the mark up 98 just a pound higher today and 54 and a half kilos was light enough for Pat's who doesn't mean all that well this week he tells me he said I had about the flu earlier on till we feeling an awful lot better now and he said quite enough season that's just his fourth winners a VA yes my thought winner tonight so I'm sure he's happy to other winner oh no carnival day absolutely game a beautiful ridin II yeah I mean is is a very good jockey very tough pusher I mean whenever you next to him fighting for the win is very hard to pass so it is a better than what he has now he does have more winner yeah he had a bit of a troubled thoughts of the season he arrives to ride for halal Alawi and that when arrived for whatever reason and luckily he's always had a strong partnership with with soybeans were all written out for him in the mornings that's where he's based so he'll be over the moon to have went on on this horse the son of if Raj is such a good sire here in the UAE gets winners on Durant Irfan local form to the fore to some extent Stephen with Zane on finishing second Duda thought that from Zane home he was [Music] well behind Tamil last time in Abu Dhabi race that we assessed beforehand but good effort from him major partnership not the easiest to predict is he he better think about 33 to 1 when he won at the carnival here last year as he said fallen to her the similar sort of mark but he'd only had two starts in the UK so one of those horses that Saeed can keep fresh and bring out to Dubai on it was i catching enough land skin in the whitest sort of ended up wider than than all of the others in the end he's tried to sort of go around everyone and Kundra winning run from that one hasn't worked out Tamils run well hasn't he held that avid IV form quite well made a partnership with the benefit of the rail and are light enough weights victory yeah struggling the bendy look like he didn't find his action in the bend but still he finish Wayne I mean yes even mention he might not be the easiest horse to perhaps deal with only just sort of scrambled home last time at Newmarket Dubai legacy and as you said before he's very much bread for the the dirts but in by discreet Cabot's is now mare do you think maybe sorry will be tempted to try that now with him I mean I don't know if I was on the position of side with this breeding I would throw him yeah at least on sides well pretty much try most of his horses on on the dirt and it's only our assistance to Sayid who's going up to pick up the [Music] the group 3do paui stakes is synonymous with one horse Reinaldo the wizard the salaah Speightstown cost connection seven hundred and seventy five thousand dollars as a two-year-old and he went on to show some promise well trained by own hearty in the US when switched to Satish Samaras a four year old in 2010 he rose rapidly through the handicapped ranks and went on to win the group on golden Shaheen in 2013 the first of his three do bow high stakes wins amazingly came as a nine year old in 2015 he did it in the style of a sprinter half his age switched off heels by regular jockey Richey Mullen the pair loomed alongside Mareb and sprinted Claire for a very impressive win he's been around the bend and pasture 404 where about in the middle of the track went to the lead and went to the ladies'll e-mu and it gives chase renowned oh the Wizards gone back to the inside he's running on strongly the old boy Ronaldo's hit the front abracadabra from now though the wizard age will not weary he's drawing away from who Arab and this is a big big win he's back the last of Renault Lowe's to bow a stakes came aged 11 the ten-time made on winner is now enjoying his well-earned retirement under the care of Godolphin in England a true UAE racing legend Yeah right now though the wizard a horse at Richey Merlin will long remember after he retires a good winner of several debarry stakes in the city see miles got a couple of chances of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars two hundred thousand on offer on total twelve hundred meters on the dirt the conditions for this race all nine of them thankfully hold their ground and they're headed by the aforementioned larvae spin progressive last year prior to the muhabba al-sham L Richie Mullen rides on his return never land rock goes to Salem bingo Darren Royston French three is nine below zero we heard from fast enough see earlier expects him to be fitter this time around four he's walking Thunder Ahmed bin Hamish and Connor Beasley the team their Wadi so they could starts the season so far winning a handicap was second to Eber Malik in the listed guy who'd sprint last time Dane O'Neill in search of a double sixties drafted first start the season for him but what's an expecting that he will improve for the outing having missed his intended reappearance Gladiator king he's the second highest rated horse in the field for mark 109 McHale Barcelona rare ride for the city see my yard a tease tour to Paris Pia Brandt's having a crack on the dirt with this one and finally even Malik Lee won the trial in decisive fashion Jim Crowley on board for Mesaba Alma Harry super race it really is I wouldn't be too keen to dismiss that many of them maybe Netherland rock whose around 20 to 1 and sort of Paris who's a lot shorter with being a couple I've been less keen on but it really is a race that's brought together some of the main sort of local forum lines from the sprinting ranks and also some internationals as well into here and interesting to see how they go and I say internationals I've really really got pure brands toured to Paris but we have a few interesting new recruits the Satish SEMA yard this year wanna set this evening and the fact he was quite well held on his one try on it in a lesser race over there it's actually beating him that's sir only beaten point seven-five alone maybe one being a bit unfair but Ritchie's unloved a spin here for see ma who was prolific last season and then kind of ended the year in with a little bit of a of a wimp oh and I'm just picking up a couple of little injuries so he didn't see me look firmly on course at one stage I thought for a good crack perhaps at the the golden Sheheen if he's racing had gone up sufficiently ended up on 99 he won first up last season and he's not to be dismissed if he's right for this seasonal reappearances as we look at Neverland Drock who originally was a 480 thousand euro yearling purchase at our corner certainly had a deal of ability and he's very very consistent hasn't been beaten further than three lengths in his last four starts but it's just whether that transition spacing from the US would concern me I sort of have a bit of a school of thought that if you're coming from America you need to run very quickly ie straight off the plane or you need to leave it a good long Royal so let's see you how tuned up Neverland rock is for this first debut here locally as we have a look at knowing below zero who will have needed the run last time he's going to improve a lot yeah for sure as you see earlier like usually horses for fuzzy they need a run to get fit so I'm sure he's going to improve on that he has he went over here he went quite nicely actually last year so finished second in the group tree behind drafted it is so it can be a good a good option tonight yeah I like him a little bit here nine below zero as you said it was a great effort in the maha bua mile behind try this is walking stun de who's one of the stars our share of the early part of the season and started favorite for the UAE 1000 give me zoom it she was beaten by s da da they tried something different this year and dropped him back in into sprinting company was beaten for it's a force 811 lands behind have been Malik last time she's okay running that in the guard sprint sir I thought that's a bit of a watching brief advised I think and that has to be Ward 8 who can be a little bit tricky as we see there he's been in gratefulness season hasn't he yeah yeah it just got bit by a bin maalik but still was a good run he went before that in November nervous tonight no it's not an easy horse at all he was a free winner and he was trained in the UK by John Goss and took a while to really kind of get the hang of things here in the UAE took him 10 starts to win a race mostly kept into the turf early run but he's he's pretty adept on the dirt so he says he won two starts ago he think pop the hood is a rather pensive looking Jim Crowley's writing new UAV for the second time this season he did pop over and ride in the very valuable jewel crown meeting at some that abu dhabi aron and then went back to the UK this is drafted who's just been a star hasn't he who's been lucky in this race last year yes yes yes yeah it's definitely a story in the UAE I mean it's probably the best horse they got from their sins yeah definitely I think he costs 40 thousand dirhams or something ridiculous like that and he was trained in the US always in good often ownership and then the misty hollow farm was actually a Sydney cut of locally-based people it sounds like a posh stud farm but it is they through was off the scent for ages with them with that name but anyway they've done incredibly well with him he's been a good fun horse for them and this is gladiator ki impresses me physically yeah very good looking off well as usual I mean also Satish and never present a horse which is not good looking at know they are doing very good job in the yard for that yeah they really are he's got a lot of speed this fellow used to be trained by James measure over in the in the states and he's beautifully bred ease by curling out of a group to winning dam called Golden Dawn say I'm just impressed with how he's sort of filled out his frame since he arrived he's super and free over this distance of of 1200 meters I heard from the manager of his on this Sheikh Rashid he was very confident on him hmm quite a hands-on team shake Russia's racing manager often see them at the stables in the morning this is tour to Paris short on the international market so I was surprised to see him at 8 to 1 but Pierre Brandt's are very good training on well it's funny this or start his career in Longoria I know when a group 2 in Hungary in Greece in a winner and a winner there on the dirt I wouldn't know how the Hungarian dirt surface compared to I have no idea even the form will be hard to follow him there but look he moved to friends Iran well it just went a list address in Mehsana feet so on the turf meeting the right manner cause the former was winner yeah it's just whether or not he adapts to the dirt but I totally respect Pierre branch but she had a winner here last year was silver in Davila anyone saw I'm gonna say this wrong you'd have to correct me if we say he's by who won a pre Mulan pretty morning so um he will stay a little bit further than this is well but he's actually to from to over this 1200 meter trip and the one we looked at briefly but went away from has it been Malik who we heard about from asaba earlier on I think it rather depends what mood it'd be Malik's in as to whether or not you see him win again you shot and he couldn't fail to be impressed with that victory last time over wadi yeah do you think he's one to be trusted there with Malik working well look the way one last time was to be very impressive like he had had to to shift out to turn very yabin my trusted chance um I'm walking Thunder okay brave brave super race this as it should be for $200,000 and a bar we stakes is up next rider 4000 airsoft with a very short suspension he'll be back given Malik with the familiar white and blue striped cap and tour to Paris to come forward for Maxine Gyan so for out of the gate still wedding on gladiator King to go forward now gladiator King once again up with the gates and goes in this time around nervous has been just a little bit unsettle the inside and she melon taking a little bit of weight off its back now why do you even rally coming in together and sewer to Paris will be the last dollar Shane Ryan marches over to his starting position about 10 or 15 meters in front of the stalls Tour de Paris goes thought and they're all set ready now racing in the d'Ivoire we and drafted straight out the back was slowly and destroyed lava spin that bounced away when struck at the front up to second his gladiator king although very wide driving through his nine below zero and what he's going to be right on the speed never land rock dropped in behind them to a de Paris outside of walking thunder next of all is even malik kept very wide on the track and about five links away then to drafted as they turn down the side of the track they got the final 750 2401 was the leader and larvas been responsible for it Marty up on the outside sick and Letty Eddie King three wide going up four wide Evan Mele for trucking into the race they were followed by nine below zero next - at a Paris walking Thunder for links the waiter drafted with it all to do but peeling to the outside bid Neverland rock into the strike they come gladiator King has moved up the farmer coming out for it is even Melly even melakarta gladiator Kings drop the begins to let down with a strong run down the outside is plenty other King and different Malek traveling together chillin sweater draft at Rosie love the late stages gladiator King the leader - Malik drafter with too much to do and gladiator King the American great debut in the desert it is gladiator king by a half-length over even Mulligan drafted next in yd they were followed by two at a Paris in town lavas spinner next across the line was dying below zero walking Thunder and last of all was Neverland rock very very strong performance by gladiator King three wide the travelling strongly for Macao Barcelona even Malik was travelling probably equally as well at the top of the straight for Jim Crowley had four wide for after they give him them too much of a start really dogged out of the other barriers tonight drafted no particularly quick but I think it would be fair to say genuinely missed the staff there tonight in Gladiator King this is very good resume from the US of A and now has won 6 of 16 first up force to teach them up beautifully handled by Macao Barcelona wins by neck ever even malik and third drafted ahead of whitey well what a performance from gladiator King brought with him some very good form from the US and he is Julie beaten the best of our local sprinters and beaten them well Xavi a you were impressed with this horse beforehand and Nicobar alone has found himself on a very nice sprinter here yeah definitely well done to him welcome to the connection and this is massive forces each Seema as you said earlier on his first runner for Sheikh Rashid bin he made an away me they've nurtured him along steadily enough since he arrived in in September and it will mean a lot to them our fourth to Bobbie Sykes imagine he's gonna come on for the for the run he's beaten some some good sprinters even Malik well obviously we saw win first time out to imagine that drafted will have a much bigger say the next time they meet he was in his kind of usual spot at the back he made some excellent headway and if did Watson is of the belief that the extra 10% fitness-wise will be there next time then you'd still have to consider that drafted is he's probably amongst the best for thing gladiator king could easily improve himself so in a intriguing race they went a good pace and as it's been the case in most of our races tonight really the right horses have come to the fore another win for a local trainer STC my Manish five winners at last year's Carnival in fact it was actually a fist of re stakes win for him because he won it last year with Ravens corner and add to the three-four ran outta there was it so it's a racing you will understand it we have a lot of affection for neva at this point really Xavi a he didn't think he was gonna get beaten it bin Malik has gone wider than the winner I was I was cheering him on really he's just slightly hung in a bit for Jim Crowley but he was never gonna get there was he no no no the connection really because first time I mean first run for the connection first run for the horse in the country so it must be a good horse and as you say probably the good advantage it he came early in the season so they had time to work on him too and for the horse to acclimate it to the to the waiver I really do think that's the key particularly when they're coming from America it doesn't apply so much to the World Cup night runners they're in and out very quickly before they sort of have time to acclimatize they run and that sort of works as well but courses that are going to be here for the duration you've got to bring them with plenty of time and I think a fair bit of credit goes to Sean Curran he's among the team that ride the sauce in the mornings at Sabeel stables he's certainly on him the other day anyway that's two and a half million dollar race and then gladiators king will have to step up again but you can only win on your debut in a country well and that's exactly what he's done here this four-year-old fairly uncomplicated as Steven said and he's got a nice job in the future I thought as a great three winner already so beautifully well done to the connection and to shake shake rationally me because it's not easy to buy horses from America I mean especially sprinter because over there they can run with medicine yeah sprinters can bleed because they they are going very fast for in the short short distance so it's always a big challenge when you buy sprinters from from the US that's a very good point and a lot of the trainer's will say that as well that horse is coming from the US do you often need a year or so just because is it Steven mentioned earlier a completely different training regime and they are here running running latex free and and and all the rest of it we very much have you sort of European rules here as opposed to more flexible medication laws that they have still have over in America fairly nice performance likeable performance bike areata King I think the French horse has run okay tour to Paris thankfully there we not too disappointed with that do you think they'll go to dirt again mundane what do you think there because try the tough I don't know but again the good thing like because he has a form on the turf so you can have the two options probably tonight it was a good run like to make him ready to go to two dirty and above number one he's Dukan for Antonia fresh soo and Ahmed bin how much t Mountain Hunter say bin Suroor in search of a treble three is Lucius Tiberius Charlie Applebee's first runner at the carnival of 2020 he's the mounts of James Doyle for his Imam Fabrice fair on Irwin Sharpie not to be confused with Zaman there is another runner in there for Charlie Appleby sixties Pablo Escobar Tom mark and rise for William haggis 7 is to buy her eyes on eight Universal order for Ritchie mother 9 great king 10 is gifts of gold Pat cosgrove rides 11 across the stars and finally cumin tigerish a riding for mix Shannon so a super race to conclude things this evening and best chance probably of getting an international winner on the board although good olfin are very strong as well looking forward to this one another upgraded race Stephen said they are therefore in draw order which is a little bit confusing and the horse who seems to be attracting loads of attention is this bad blow Escobar everyone seems to like him and owned a course by by his saying luta he won't arch cold who do that already out of nice win of this season 200,000 euro as a yearling so he has a good form we definitely have to keep an eye on him yeah he's certainly a likable sort for William haggis he was here this evening he doesn't always come over to support his runners at the carnival but he is he is here so you see how Pablo Escobar gets on as the two-to-one favorite for this race is a beautifully bred saw out of the a really nice race mayor called bewitched who was a group 3 winner and he's by Galileo we don't have too many Galileo's here in the UAE we have had one I think when on dirt many years ago but so this phantom Ed's assistant signed the docket for him and Antonio frizzy rides here for that matter they've had a lot of success together over the years 53 kilos would have been a bit like for Conor bzees the most recruits are racing here he used to be with Hugo Palmer one two or 13 runs for him are probably best watched on on this occasion bearing in mind me recent form of the yard and we seem to have lost the zero now I've never second fees but he's saddle saddle class this is mountain hunter what do you think the one to beat yeah I believe in this race I I like you can't go without him without Pablo Escobar for sure but again you can't go without the broom oh no you can't I was thinking with carnal turf handicaps if in doubt just go for good olfin and then the difficult question is picking the right one Kevin stock looks happy to be here he's on Dubai horizon Sam hitch Scott looks less happy to be here I'm sure he's smiling inside and there we have Lucia siberius is my idea of the winner but I haven't got much right so far this evening so ignore me and this fellow was a lead horse with gay Act last year in Dubai he went it out here and he's a bit of an unusual good olfin horse and it used to be with Aiden O'Brien and they purchased him for 320,000 she's got a lot of money out of the data source October 18 sale and then he'd run really consistently I thought in the UK a bit sorry for him that he didn't manage to win just quite like him here I think conditions will suits him looks well enough James door ridings of course William Buick is suspended for a bit of careless riding misdemeanor in Japan he will be back next week though here is Darryl Zaman who was part of a a memorable oh and Sharpie double at the carnival a couple of years ago when a Furyk resada won and the man won he hasn't actually won this horse since the Abba Dabba Championship a group 3 in 2017 it was a great run last time I think connections considered retiring him shake hand undecideds keep him in training in this book exactly yeah 53 is nothing he's especially considering last time he was second with 62 on his back I feel like he's running loose this evening around his great Bergen she have a Ramadan there so we have as a mom and as a man this is a man who'd make a Barcelona rides for Charlie Applebee's in my tend to follow this star share this horse and didn't really do much for that he was third on his first start here you know aces charm and then fifth behind Mountain hunter he actually won here 2018 the made on classic which is a three year old race on the turf nice ride from Mikael but looks very much the second-string here for for Charlie and this is Pablo Escobar we won't miss him always pretty distinctive very pretty or very pretty face yeah William haggis the two winners in the UAE so far doesn't bring all that many horses out here and this fellow be Loxley a horse who did have a very high reputation for good often at one stage but his careers rather petered out anyway interestingly enough Loxley beat him and neck at Kempton in a listed race in December a mountain hunter beat Loxley by a nose in a listed race at Newmarket in September so on a line through Loxley Pablo Escobar has the beating of mountain hunter but it's not that easy to predict of course this is due by horizon that Kevin Stott rides for say you've been in sarong other nice lightly race one probably find this a bit easier than his Cambridgeshire effort last time yeah well I don't know really where to to put him because like he won an Indy cap he went 0 to 95 but over here let's see first run in in the UAE first run anyway for the son of parrots voice lose something it says victories came at sundown it yeah back in 2018 pretty much missed a year we did miss a year and then returned and was well held behind Lord North that's the same loser on the right there tom mark and and William haggis is in the blue suit and they have Pablo Escobar this is universal order he's also here this evening this fellow runs for the first time since being gelded first time 407 days a besom didn't have the best of carnivals last year but he's a fabulous trainable tickley of international horses and this fellow's got quite nice recent form if you count September as recent when he won at Yarmouth beating a useful horse called L miss there's a good piece of for me is for from seven looks very progressive at this stage which team L in a nice jockey booking and the Koreans are in the house she's good to see he saw a great king in our track work report earlier on intriguing this guy's never run on the tough yep very very funny so again as we say like he's right in 95 on the turf so I mean he never run on the turf but he has his form on the dirt so it's a good option I mean the horse is here it's a good good try if you don't try you don't know the reason he's never run on the surface because they've got a turf trucking career they're building one they haven't got one yet so he's had to run on the dirt maybe Tom's grass because all we want to dry him on the turf either ways up against it not the same foot gifts of gold who has a strong chance here he was again very progressive in in the UK his first running in pattern company and he kind of threw it away a little bit really last time at Yarmouth and behind predicted guests when he sort of hung his chance away as she bred by Oak Hill House stud over in in Ireland and costs 280,000 initially at the Goff sale a career record of two from five is not to be sniffed at and Stephen was a pretty complimentary about his chances and I felt for Jabba ramadhan who bought across the stars here a couple of seasons ago now and the horse hasn't managed to run for 544 days be the shock of the seeds and if he can win this he was a very good horse in the UK for some Michael start winner at Royal Ascot but I think he's probably going to struggle here got the hood on for the first time cost job by just 18,000 suggesting that perhaps they'd had a tricky time with him before deciding to sell him and this is cumin named after Ronald cumin the football manager for McShann and a former England international and play Gachet coming in for a nice ride here on cumin who won last time at Newbury that was back in September let's say from Stephen with Davidson time indeed with Davison few nervous moments a universe Lord to go now is that the way of him it is yeah he's he could be a bit fresh in the pre parade and he was like who's like it last year I thought actually gelding him would take a little bit out of it obviously not time may tell that he does that but he comes here with a progressive profile I mean win three races that while you brought him here yeah I mean he's like I said he's progressive last year he was very impressive on his last start one three lines beating a horse consequently when it's next to he's in that area he's ninety seven rated horse he could go forward we think you'll go forward and this and we'll find out we'll find out a bit about him I just think he'll man up a little bit over here and it won't do many are winning in small fields we're tactical speed is probably quite crucial do you see that as a valuable asset around here as well he's not a slow horse and hopefully there'll be a little bit of pace and he can work from there but I think whatever happens I will see him get better as the Spanish mission desert encounter later on we bought actually three at the moment woven who's here to help this fellow and a horse called Casa man who runs in two weeks time and then there's an encounter and Spanish mission come out for Super Saturday in the meeting for to find a few don't gives everybody a break and this great opportunities over here and it's been good things up on Carnival might one be your wholesale banking across the stars coming up towards the barrier stills we wait upon universal order to come forward that Lou Escobar to come forward and also komen Pablo Escobar goes into the various doors Tom Marquand on route to a Sydney you'll be down there for but over a month riding in Australia after tonight we wish you well Universal order the last to come along they are almost set now final race of the night opening an night at the carnival can't love them a little bit bouncy in the stores now the gates are back and they're racing loose ears Tiberias Mountain hunter the bests at a beginner do you can over on the inside begins to rush up behind them so mama from the inside as a man and pablo escobar's moving up on the outside and the green goes forward just often gives the gold to by horizon as they go into that first corner then came across the Stars came and it's trapped out very wide indeed they will follow in turn then getting back in the field by great king and universal order back towards that's out of the field so they work up the side of the track 23:37 was the time and the leader here Lucius Tiberias out filings on Pablo Escobar Mountain hunter third over on the inside trap why gifts of gold allowed to slide around the outside as a mama they were followed by Duquesne who's now shuffle back on the inside a hit a comb and out wives a man is between them they will followed by across the stars getting back was to buy horizon then came a great king and universal order at the rear down the back they go behind Lucia Tiberias who shows the way Pablo Escobar up on the outside second mountain hunter over on the fence a three-time cannibal winner already from the outside gifts of girls still trying to get across but out three wives of Marv is between them and then Dukan up on the outside is I komen then came the man next of all then is across the stars they were followed by Dubai horizon as they came off the back universal order and great king was back at the rear turning down the side of the track now a thousand meters to go loose years Tiberias has been given a lovely ride by Doyle so far as our fire lengths on Pablo Escobar the outside Manhunter Oh from the leaders back around the out of n his gifts of gold so mom is between them Duke and down on the fence then came combing it's a man trying to pick up ground across the Stars travel so gave a sneaker between horses Universal order coming to the outside then came to buy horizon and great Kings at the rear top of the straight Lucius Tiberias has been the leader from the outset Pablo Escobar senators Bridal in second position they will follow up by mouth and a hunter he needs and out now Samar between them gifts of goals being wide the orange Catholic running on ins a man is down the outside they go inside the final 250 Pablo Escobar went up on the outsider Hill Golf Lucia stood arias down the outsiders gifts of gold and living rip now is universal order Kevin with a booming run out of the middle Louis give our departments hands universal order coming strongly in a big for win by universal order Universal auto races the way to take the last from Pablo Escobar so mom will get to third I'd say from gifts of gold ends a man close up behind them is Hunter next across is that the by horizon men can across the stars do can behind them was great king well back in the run men came in after covering ground of the early leader Lucius Tiberias back amongst the tale endures very good run David simcha for the UK on board here we're there Richard Mullen coming with a powerful run down the outside pebble of Escobar seemingly had the rest Cabot the team that couldn't hold off the challenge of the universal order whose comes whipping down the outside to win by length and a quarter third gifts of gold by and knows who's a marble exert that's what I really thought as they hit the line but just looking that replay gifts of gold looks to have got off the third but wait for the judge to come up with their verdict here but a terrific win by universal order richer Melinda and David sync up last year the final race it was a different race was a 1400 meter race but Thea the final race of the night was won by the UK when the gorge got trained another bet came home for a powerful victory tonight it is David Simcoe where the universal order taking the last the numbers of eight six ten and four it couldn't really have gone to a better supporter of the carnival David simcha I don't think is missed too many of them a great effort by this Universal orders Xavier Richie Mullin possibly a bit unlucky earlier in that he wasn't on gladiator King for his yard but he's made up for it a little bit here yeah good for him good for him and well done to David because as you mentioned I think it's long like since his last winner in India I think when his last winner was he always supports the carnival he went close last year with with woven but it's been a few years I'd hate to insult him by suggesting that trade storm was his last one that's going back an awful long time isn't it but he was he was a horse terrific side roads once in place but race on was was this type of horse very progressive handicapper coming into the race with a turn of foot and he's had to show that because he's coming from a long way back Pablo Escobar's always been in front great front-rank gifts of gold was always prominent in the cracking room from zomom I've been completely derogatory to him and he's actually beatings a man in the battle there and finish for so great from Aaron sharpies yards from his horse and the whole stable of a really flying at the moment but this is quite quite a nice performance because he was getting worked up before hands he looked backward in his coat as many will do from England at this time of year and he's shown a nice turn of fund one thing we didn't mention that all his victories had come in small fields three and four runner races so he's got that tactical speed to be able to quicken here at May down which is probably quite a crucial asset on the turf track yep and he managed to win off what was a very very slow pace that's Katie breed on the left the horse she's does a lot of work riding for Davidson she's a regular out here and in the winter and say four credits are David and the whole team back there is it easy a trainer who often wins big races abroad he does particularly well in Canada he also does extremely well of course in the UK's run trained a classic winner in France it's not much he can't do and he's prepared this horse to perfection I don't know if Abdullah is here the owner one would say not otherwise he would be leading the whole team you'd expected some diamonds sorry just a second winner for him here in the UAE but a prolific owner in Europe yeah I think he's bred the certainly raised the mare as well I think my order rat ran for him and that's a four hundred and seventy fifth winner in the UAE for richie Mullen and a seventh winner in the UAE from David Simchat from 144 runners just shows how dedicated he's been to support in the racing here yeah and he's always taking the view that even if they're not going to win races they will reap the benefit from having two or three months here in the summer he says it's the best place for expose handicappers because they can run they can finish fourth and fifth and still pick up a good prize money go back to England and be essentially racing off a lesser mark if you will so he definitely sees the benefit of it it would take it from the start I think he was probably dropped in intentionally bearing in mind how he races in England he was content to let loose so loosely as Tiberias who was being a pacemaker in his past and he's gone out there from mountain hands has been quite keen on the rail I'd be definitely interested in him in him next time I meet the first time out last two years he's been beaten second time out he's won both times so he next time the pace was slow tonight so it makes the game easy for Ritchie to come for any horses to come from the back if like I mean even if like Simonton huntin is not that comfortable at this stage no it's not just too keen just talking so Ritchie took his time at the barky never been really worried about the pace and he did well did he did it really well Ritchie um writing as well as ever now and had a few little sort of injury niggles this season so this will mean the world to him I'm sure he had to miss a couple of meetings earlier on in the season and that's uh obviously isn't ideal for any jockey particular one who bases himself here full-time and the UAE it's awful bunny thank you for that and it's um it's it's um very much his sort of home now the UAE for Ritchie and it's his family Shelley wife his wife will be watching I'm along with all the little Mullins and he's just started soda creeping forward at this stage hasn't he say I was watching them up front thinking has James Thor got the fractions exactly right on Lucia siberius but we often see this don't we in these carnival turf handicaps they go very slow no not yeah well he had the perfect position and I thought he was gonna do it one of the first to cry enough is cumin there which I go show you they were sort of forced that why for much of the race which wouldn't out there's the Korean is on the outside of the eventual winner great king salmon has got racing early into some of these as Steven said he stayed on really well under Febreze piranhas actually got a bit tight for room there in the Sheikh Hamdan silks in the center but no such problems rich use sort of sweep wider than most of the principles here this point Tom mark I'm probably thought he had it won didn't he on on Pablo Escobar great run from him but he's swooped past that nicely just the 53 kilos on his back universal order he'll be set for a bit of a rise in the weights and we can now from winning trainer always nice when I win and interview before Adam goes and wins but he's done that very well he's quick enough a slow pace there I think though yeah he's picked up good he's had to do that all his career in all fairness you know there's two wins even though there's small fields at Bath and even Yarmouth he's had to learn to quicken we don't try and find out too much about him at home he's a lively character so now it's just very pleasing and ridden exactly how he wanted and if we'd finished strong and finish fourth or third it wouldn't really matter but to go and win right to bonus obviously had the stallion number right so he erased the mayor as well he bought the maiden race the mare but he had the stallion and the stallion produces really good-looking stock actually it's a shame he's now doing another job but no listen he's a talented one anyway I was just listening to Richie Mullen as well on the big screen saying is still a bit of a big baby this horse a universal order Ania a four-year-old first-time gelded which so often can bring about a dramatic improvement in their form let's say Pablo Escobar and I capture for me Steven made a good point as well about Mountain Hunter being perhaps want to catch second time out here at the carnival but it's hard it's very hard to be good often on the turf here and it's important for the carnival isn't that we have international runners in international winners it would encourage more people to send horses yeah definitely but so now you have one for Britain yeah very happy I'm not gonna pretend I'm not bit biased to be honest David seemed gots always be very good to us on the channel it's been a winning line guest in the past and he's always very helpful with our filming requests so we like him to do well in it makes it nice as well that we have a local owner and a jockey who is an absolute star with all his some media engagements he'll be riding tomorrow keeping very busy it's Alain and he'll of course be back here on Saturday as well she's got some new gloves I haven't seen those sort of baby blue ones before no yeah that's made the difference well maybe maybe did the difference tonight be the lucky close do you think there are any hard luck stories here I don't think just like the pace probably a bit too slow so really suit all horses but I didn't see anyone that hand lucky much just keep an eye on Montana hunter mmm next friend definitely they just need to go a little bit quicker donating a bit in the in the early stages I definitely think it's a win in Pablo Escobar connections decide to persevere with him this carnival I think that would be a wise thing to do actually Lucia various dropped away fifty eight kilo Universal order fifty three so it's it's a five kilo difference yeah it won't be quite you know he hasn't won all that far he'll certainly be set for a bit of a hike it won't be quite so easy through next time but he's won that in the manner of a progressive horse and the UK is off the mark for the carnival and what's better a very enjoyable opening night not the easiest night to find the winners though no it wasn't certainly not of course it all started right back race number one the UAE won
