that good stuff because it really helps the channel thank you very much so the other day i started getting inundated with messages and comments on my videos telling me that someone had shouted me out on their channel turns out it's the one and only brad steele so for anyone that's unfamiliar with brad he actually has his own really cool reaction channel that he does with his girlfriend emily i've actually been watching his videos for the past few months and he's a super cool guy he does really really cool reaction videos so you definitely want to go and check him out so i'd just like to say a massive thank you to brad for shouting out on his channel and spreading the love and support i was actually a little bit blushing because he said some really really nice things about me but yeah you guys should definitely check him out i'll leave a link in the description for his youtube channel so today's reaction is something that has been already heavily heavily requested and then after the shout out it was even more heavily requested so today i'm going to get this done this is adam rupp from home free i know it's another home free kind of video so it's kind of related but i can say this has been heavily requested so i just could not ignore this this is a drum solo by adam rob i hope you guys enjoy it as always i'll be writing notes and time stamps on my pad so we can revisit any interesting bits at the end i have a feeling though that if i write anything down and look down at any point i'm going to miss something important so i'll try and kind of write without actually looking at the screen so we'll see how it goes every show i come here and i tell the audience that what you're hearing is 100 live and 100 acapella but there's still a few skeptics in the crowd and there's only only one way to silence the skeptics would y'all like to hear a drum solo [Music] nice accents nice variations as well that's key [Music] [Applause] that's impressive nice dynamics [Music] [Applause] nice sound [Music] [Music] wow [Music] so [Music] kind of thing going on that's my realm [Music] yeah that's really cool i'd say variations he's got going in there he's got a lot of different kind of like triplets and different technical side of things going on there like yeah his name's up in light so that's pretty cool it's breath control as well like that is something that i think is really underestimated when you're doing stuff like this [Applause] ladies and gentlemen gentlemen makes me feel like it's bigger [Music] yeah that's a second shot of that [Music] dj [Music] powersteps [Music] [Applause] [Music] wow this range of sounds [Music] thrown in [Music] everybody in the house say one one everyone say two two everybody say deep in the southern outback [Music] going on let's remix it [Music] oh [Music] drop the bass another dirty drop [Music] [Applause] [Music] down [Music] that was absolutely insane that was so so impressive i mean even if he's just doing that with his voice but even if a drummer was to play that with all four limbs that's still some going so just being able to do it with one single voice and like i say his breath control throughout that was just impeccable i mean you can't do stuff like that while not having to do those things whilst breathing in if that makes sense like so doing that inward singing as uh jack black would call it and still being able to kind of produce those sounds is something i just don't think majority of the population would be able to do unless they had like hours upon hours upon years upon years of practice that was absolutely insane so my heart really goes off to him for that although this one's staying on my head i mean it's cold in here so where to go back to stuff like that i mean the fact that you had just like a basic drum groove to start off with bringing it up with just a hi-hat and then he brought in the bass and he brought in some snare and just had it as a the drum kit elements that was a really nice start and i think it showed that you know he's kind of starting off he's not giving you everything that he's got straight off you know he's kind of building you up to it and then later on he was able to kind of bring out these special effects stuff like your dubstep kind of vibes and your bass drops and your sub drops all that kind of stuff he was able to bring that in later and yeah it was it was a really well choreographed and thought out drum solo most of the time when you think of a drum solo it's just kind of a guys just hitting drums for a few minutes and a lot of them and some of the ones i've seen go on for way too long that was perfection because it wasn't too long it showcased everything that he needed and it wasn't boring you weren't kind of sitting back going all right come on let's get on with it you know it was it was really interesting throughout he was bringing something new to the table each time and yeah he was really showcasing his talents there was a really really good solo so i'm just going to take it back to about 118 because this is where he's like playing the hi-hats and then he kind of brings in the bass obviously the sound of his kick drum is actually pretty good because in the drumming world that's like something that's up for debate quite a lot is that the the quality of the sound of your kick and snare because that's really the backbone of your sound and if those two don't sound very good or don't complement each other then the whole sound falls apart so he's got a really nice diverse sound here i mean obviously we're hearing it through what i'm assuming is like a phone camera or something like that it doesn't seem to be like it's not it's obviously not professional audio but still even coming through that it you can tell that it's a it's a good sound he's got [Music] now again because we're hearing it through a camera microphone you're probably not getting quite as much bass as you would normally get but i would have liked to have heard i think a little bit more bass so whether or not that's just again because of the microphone that we're hearing it through and if you were actually there live you'd be feeling it in your chest that's a whole other thing but yeah i would have liked to have heard a little bit more low end in his bit in his kick drum but still that's a really really good sound he's got there he's cutting through and that's that's the thing so with it being beatboxing you wanted to cut through also something i really quite liked about this section was the fact that he's actually mimicking what he's doing with his hands and his feet he's not just kind of sat there with his microphone and just doing it he's actually playing it out on the kit so the the audience can visually see what parts of the kit he would be playing you know so they can kind of see how it's done if that makes sense [Music] it makes me feel like it's bigger say stuff like this adding those currently elements in as well it keeps it interesting it's not something that you would normally see in a drum solo so the fact that he's able to kind of put those in and engage the audience as well just makes it super interesting [Music] so now you get into his dj set and this isn't something that i'm particularly well upon however i've worked with a lot of young people over the years that are really into this kind of stuff and they've actually had like mixing desks and things like that where they've either had real records or they've just had those um the electric versions if you like so you load up an mp3 or something like that onto the actual desk themselves and then you can mix it as you would normally do on on real turntables and working with those is not easy and getting that kind of sound and mixing it all together is really not easy i tried it once and it sounded awful so obviously doing it with a vice there's a lot more control there but it's still getting that sound down and he's done it really really well [Music] you can barely hear it when he takes a breath because he's able to kind of still do the sounds whilst breathing in that is so so impressive and what's also impressive as well is the fact that he's not losing the groove he's not losing the beat the bit when he's when he's doing a groove and you've got that back beat of the snare he's not losing that and substituting it for something else he's doing it on top of and getting all those different voices out of one voice is incredibly difficult reverse it so being able to reverse the sound there and actually mimic what it sounds like reverse that is so clever and again not something that a drummer could do in a live set so again something different that you're hearing that you wouldn't normally hear so it's so creative like that's really really good [Music] hmm drop the bass and then an absolute phenomenal ending there because he sort of cuts out the bass at first so you get that kind of low-fi kind of sound and then kicks in with the bass again and it just makes the cans rattled you can really hear that bass coming through there that's the bass that i was talking about earlier is that having something like that cutting through just ah sounds so good i mean it's obviously it's great when tim faust does it but then when you get the beatboxer doing it as well yeah that's a that's a dirty drop that's a dirty drop so overall that was a very very impressive drum solo i can't say enough good things about it because the talent that you've got to have to be able to do stuff like that is insane so yeah huge props to adam brooke to be able to do that and it's just elevated my opinion of him i knew he was good already because with the stuff i've heard him doing with home free already it was already like this is a really really cool beatboxer but then hearing a drum solo like that is just taking it to a whole new level but what did you guys think let me know in the comment sections below thank you very much for watching and also thank you very much to brett steele once again for shouting me out on this channel i'll see you all in the next video bye guys five from falls in prison that's where i wanna stay yeah had i let that lonesome where's all blow my blue [Music]
