Drone Video Shows Decimation In Greenfield, Iowa, After Tornado

welcome back we have new video coming in from Greenfield Iowa this is showing you the extensive damage as this confirmed tornado ripped through and what you're noticing just to the edge you see those uh Bobcats that are kind of cleaning up all the damage there that was actually the tornado carving its way through you can see the path of Destruction this this is devastating to look at we've seen some visuals from our storm trackers they've got it from their vehicles but when you look at this you don't know where one property line starts and the other one finishes you don't know where these homes used to even exist you just see empty plots and foundations that are torn now you do see a lot of basements and so you hope that many were in those basements at the time that these to storms ripped through at least this very strong I mean this was one when you're looking at the ground truth here and the verification of how devastating this storm is we also had the tools that showed us in real time that this debris was thrown into the atmosphere up to 30 to 40,000 ft speaks to the intensity you'll notice how people are working around here um I mean this was ongoing and see right here this is search and rescue at this point right because you can see that there's a sense of urgency people are really digging through that Rubble uh hopefully trying to rescue those that they can hear um underneath that right um hopefully they are okay we are you know we talked with Brandon and Corey about this event they couldn't speak to any loss of life they did talk about how devastating it was and uh you could hear the emotion in their voice I mean these are experien Decades of experienced storm trackers and when you come to a visual like nothing prepares you for this right when you come to a visual like this and um you can just see the entire Community that's out checking in on one another but I think what you notice is just from whether it's the homes or the trees that are just completely shredded notice the trees aren't uprooted it's just whatever was about 10t off the ground was ripped away and those branches are gone and thrown right and it's just uh I know that's the least of the concern right we're not worried about the trees we're just I'm just speaking to the intensity of that wind just literally shredding anything that was in its path but you also notice the width of this tornado uh I mean as this goes out and out towards the field there and you can see that it enters more of a remote area that debris was dragged along with it but this kind of shows you where there's that direct line and I mean this was a few hundred yards wide and at times s you'll notice in the foreground here right where there's that Loop that there was a broadening broadening of that multiple vortices were registered in this once it left the city limits and now you're going out to this rule area notice how again it just ripped apart these trees and threw it I think what's alarming about that too when you look at the trees is that you're you're seeing that there's no branches on the ground like those are probably Miles and Miles Away um when you're witnessing this year too they already have the bulldozers coming through clearing the paths so First Responders can come in when you see some of those Vehicles forget the windows being blown out do you see how the metal is completely just collapsed in and crunched it it just speaks I mean off to the side there on that silver car that's a Nissan Ultima I mean that thing looks like it got picked up and just thrown the ground caves in you look off this area on a left hand side of your screen where it looks like multiple homes were all thrown together and there's just piles of that it's just devastating because you imagine these families here they've worked their entire lives to live in this community right and you get to your property and you don't even I mean there's nothing standing anymore right everything's just completely shredded um I think it tells you a lot when you read body language right there's a lot of people that looks like they have sunken shoulders they have their hands on their faces kind of just trying to come to terms and grasp what just happened right [Music]
