Dream On - Aerosmith - Steven Tyler cover by Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

Hey guys, welcome back again to Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy, where the proof is in the singing! We got a lot of requests for this one. None other than “ Dream On”. Obviously, the vocalist is Steven Tyler, the band is Aerosmith. We’ll do it first, we’ll talk about it after like we always do. Let’s Rock! Whew... Okay… So… A lot of negotiation with this one. So, this is very different. The early stuff that he did was a lot different than the stuff he did later. With a lot of chest early, lower chest voice stuff, you know. “Every time I look in the mirror, all these lines in my face getting clearer…” Like a lower mixed voice style. And then “Dream on!” You know, all of a sudden there’s like this octave shift, right? So he kind of skated a little bit on the mid voice stuff and he really didn’t kind of connect the dots to that.
