Doctor Terry Dubrow is known for fixing bad plastic surgery and is botched. The show is in its 8th Sunday livable. 10 years here here. And here here is a sneak peek at tomorrow's new episode. >> You have to understand this. A tz. This is high risk taking apart the abdominal wall on someone's had this operation. That will be very parts of double. Well, we're just below Their will, the intestines that could be injured for sure after what you You work hard and everything you do. >> it for in? So I like that. A to a like you doing something for Certainly deserve You You want to go ahead to this operation trying to make this work for you? Yes, I would love and gets really go for >> Look at that Doctor. Terry Breaux, do growth. I'm tripping over my words because you so handsome there. Why there's some journalist out there who do I am? Not one of them. She does. It such a pleasure to meet It's so nice to be here. Meet you guys. We were just saying we haven't seen the sun in about 12 days. Yeah. But used Angeleno here. You see it. You guys are going to cold. 65 degrees in La. It's for a sets. freezing. Well, I would take it and would give my left 3 billion 65 and up. >> The clip we showed up relatively tame compared to the some of that some of the things that we see on the show. I mean, been watching the show for what feels like forever like it's not just been 10 years, but it had. I mean, is there ever a situation that's like, that catches you? The professional like? To get get get you to the point that I don't know if I can do this. It takes a lot at this point. But I will tell you every season we say this is the most difficult season most dramatic rose ceremony But I will tell you this season we took on cases that we passed on previously lats. Yeah. >> So cases that were just deemed too risky or the tissue was to damage that we said, you know what? After getting the experience all these years of doing Poche with the skills with the skill set, we took them all on. So cases you won't believe really. A lot of them are very tear jerking. Got to see It's fun. It's difficult. I wonder why to them. And now as opposed to previously, have you just learned more in your craft or you know what? Believe it or not? There's a reason they call it the practice of medicine right? >> And the more you do of sort of impossible surgery. What was formally impossible is now possible was formally really hard is kind easy. So we said, let's take on this case. We passed. So this is the sort of the greatest hits of the ones we turned down. >> Great, assess. I mean, where do we go from Can you talk to us little bit about? The origin story? What made you want to be a surgeon in the first place? So I was sort of kid, the kid like. >> Dissect cash or look blogs. And I just and to be able to use the math and science to help people. That's what attracted me to medicine. Actually went to med school to be a cardiac surgeon. Right? I was going to heart surgeons. That was like the coolest most intense. I'm kind of an intense sky cool under pressure. Typically, but I'm in a plastic surgeon in my second year UCLA medical School. He dynamic guy. He said this is the last true Renaissance field medicine. We do everything from head to toe. Cancer burns, cosmetic surgery, congenital deformities. So what's more attractive that? So I I said, doing this. So I spent 7 years due in general surgery got board certified. General surgery went right into silly is plastered the program. And here I am come on stronger. Yeah. Okay. You it found you. It fell mean, you if you're lucky, your passion make sure opportunity. And that's sort of what happened with me. >> talk to us a little bit about the patients today. Find you. Do you find them? Is that casting department hard workers a little bit of both? Well, at first it you know, more challenging to cast the show botched. What is this thing about right now? You know, some get the first season we had maybe 20300 applicants we have sort of a total of 10,000. He's got to be like that one item on the show. Come on. Botched. You know, but it's not easy coming up botched because you have to expose all the complications you've had. I cannot think of being in a more vulnerable state right than being on that show. But the credibility has just skyrocketed. I mean, when you think of that line of work, you guys are you think of? When you have an impossible situation where you're going to go and it's interesting because my practice change from being served. A regular plastic now on the botched So most of my practice is out of state and a lot of that is out of country. People fly in from Europe, Brazil, Argentina. We've had 10 operations were the last. wow. talk about him, yes, thank Obsessed why these are miracle weight-loss drugs. You know, people are trying to figure out because of the controversies she is how the side effects does it wear off? I'm telling you this is going to change the game for the disease. Obesity and it just turns off the appetite runs off the noise. I went on it to try right? You know, again, like 18 pounds and went to Europe vacation. I came back. My stomach was stretched. It was still 100 kept eating. I said, you know what? All my patients are on. I'm going to go on it. And there's some side effects, right? You know, I actually stopped taking it after I lost weight because I wanted to start eating again. But halfway into I thought I don't care if I never eat again. So yeah. Wow. Really helps you control your appetite, but you have to learn how to do Don't buy it off the Internet because mace you want to get by a doctor's prescription. Talk to them about side effects because there are side effects, but it is fantastic. So take it more because you wanted to lose those extra 18 pounds or >> did you know people in did you have patients who were taking it and you need to understand sort of where their brain was. Both. >> But I will tell you if I ever feel like out of control because, you know, obesity is a disease. It he's because we have all that food noise. Some people have more of it than others. And if you can sort of module late that noise and turn off the appetite or at least control you don't need to go in diabetic doses of it. OK, you can go on a much lower dose been stand a much lower dose. Minimize the side effects and it's nice to just build ago Z and turn off the stretch. Receptors telling feed me when you're not really even hungry. You bring up a good point because we talk about as a bucket feel like every single day. But we've never had a conversation with a medical doctor. Yes, I'm so glad you're here for more reasons than one. But I never thought about it like that. Obesity is disease. It's food. The connection there. It's all it's all up here. By the way. Number one risk factor for all 4 cause mortality. This country, cardio Vasquez, these cancer. >> Neuro degenerative disease like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and diabetes. So if you can cut the risk, the number one risk of all the seizes, get rid of the obesity. You're saving lives. Can we go back to side effects? Because you said they were yes on the show. About 30% of people with these miracle weight-loss drugs will have side effects. They are pretty minor, but they're like, you know, diarrhea nausea. The day after you injected like typically do a Sunday night, right? Because Sunday night's might was epic night. See you injected teeny little needle the next You're walking around. Kind of gone. Not only do I not feel like eating a little, you know, noxious that wears off during the week, but you can't drink alcohol because you'll get sicker than you've ever been allowed to. My patients have down in the hospital with Pain Korea Titus because of it. They got off the Internet. They never talk to a doctor by and this is interesting. You normally diet right with diet exercise, 75% of what you lose is fat. 25 1% lean muscle. When you go on these drugs, 50% loss is lean muscle. you need to increase your protein and you need to work out. like he's been in the gym. I know I work out. How about It's a I know. >> It. One more question on Ozempic. How long did you feel more? The it results instantaneous. How long did it take you to see anything? This is the other thing shockingly fast. I'm convinced if you go on a regular diet will say 1500 calories a You this amount of weight. If you go on these assembly drugs and eat the same amount, you lose faster and more. I don't know why we're just trying to figure out you logically why, but it's very fast. I lost 18 pounds and some people say this is the healthy, but it just is what is in 6 weeks? Well, as most now, your physician, I am the Hippocratic oath? I did. I know that you and Jillian Michaels have sort of yes barred. Yeah. Through the periodicals that do what is what is the endgame for you there? So, you know, it's a drug. >> And we're talking about a medical problem and disease. So I mean, she's very obviously train fitness and exercise. But if diet exercise alone was the key, there wouldn't be Toby obesity pandemic writing. So my view is this is a serious medical issue. Let's sort of leave in the hands account. got it makes sense, right? feel like it's the right thing to give someone a show. I know is before we let you go, we've got to get your wife or shadow. what is your D how much the support her in that endeavor? yeah. >> I'm Mary Tour. I love or I support her no matter what. But, you know, it's not easy doing that show. Not a match up. can't even imagine what it's like. But I can tell you they're shooting the new season. It's. >> It's just a white. Not to pay attention all the rumors in the most of are not accurate, but it's going to be a well season. >> And I'm glad I'm not a housewife. Haha. Tough enough to be a house husband, OK? I wouldn't thank you so much for
