hello and welcome to am guitar with me anja today we are going to look at a pedalboard this pedalball to be exact from donna [Music] so over the last couple of years i've gone through a lot of different pedal boards from little homemade ones made out of um bed slats and i still use this one for my mini board to one of donna's older boards with a few modifications but i was getting to a point where what i wanted doesn't didn't fit on those boards properly um not because i have tons and tons of pedals just because of the way they're organized and the size and i've also got a um a boss ms3 coming that i needed to fit onto it so i needed something that wasn't necessarily bigger but it's a better shape so this one's the board that i've been using up until recently and i found that donna had this bigger one available now so but if we look it's not quite as wide as the old board you see that um but it is bigger in general so it's taller than the old board which means that the kind of layout i need it works well because i have kind of at the top of a board i have always on pedals and then now i'll have a switcher down here and some gain pedals that will go into the switcher so yeah i found this online and thought i'll give it a go because it looks like a good size it looks fairly solid and it came comes with a bag which i thought was pretty cool so start with the contents that you get in the back so if i open this bag up now the bag's pretty sturdy it's got um pockets at the front those are both pockets it has hidden straps at the back so you can use the backpack it can be used as a case and it's also got in here a shoulder strap it also has a little pick holder that goes inside of your pedal board not sure about that it comes with it comes with the velcro that you need to put on the back of your pedals it also comes with some cable management ties to the bottom of the board which is really important these stick to the bottom and then you can tie the cables into them uh and it comes with a couple of patch leads i mean these i've used these patch leads before they're decent enough but i tend to use thinner ones now and then the whole thing goes into the bag and it's a nice deep bag to fit that plus all your pedals quite happily now the actual construction for the most part is really solid so this is a kind of a light aluminium with reinforced kind of slats velcro is already on it for you underneath you get this little velcro strap that you can attach your um power supply with which is very useful um and you also got this sort of intriguing shape which as i found out is really useful for fitting pedals that are different sizes so if i take i'll take two pedals so for instance a pedal like this if you're a standard board and you've kind of got it near the edge it can it so you have it kind of down here on a standard board that ends up slipping through the hole there because the way this is laid out it can go in lots of different places and still always be on the board properly um exactly the same as one of the bigger pedals can be so it's it's a very good shape i didn't think it was going to be but i'm actually quite impressed with the shape the only thing about this that leaves me with any kind of concerns and it's only a minor concern is that these bits yeah the sides are plastic which i think is a missed opportunity though should be aluminium really they feel pretty solid um time will tell on that one you know when used on stage is it going to am i going to put enough weight on it to break it unlikely as all my weight will be down kind of the bottom edge but it would have been nice if they had been if they have been metal but you know can't have everything it's only 50 pounds so it's not all that expensive um and then rubber feet to hold it all together so first impressions of this are really good what i'll do is i'll quickly put some pedals on the ball just to let you see kind of what it looks like with the pedals on and how they fit and then give you some thoughts so as you can see let's bring this up this will hold quite a lot really i mean obviously some of this is going to be it will have to move around a bit just for the cabling but you know that's that's good for most people so yeah all in all i'm actually really impressed with that it's a a lightweight seemingly sturdy pedalboard that comes with everything you need to set up a pedalboard except for maybe a few patch cables and has enough space for normal people to actually normal people i know lots of people who can't use a board that small for people like me who like to save a bit of space to put everything they could possibly want on there so well done donna if you're interested i'll put a affiliate link to the amazon uh version of this or the amazon store uh down below let me know what sort of boards you're using show me your crazy crazy kind of homemade boards like subscribe and i'll see you again soon cheers [Music] you
