and you thought you had seen it all [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey guys welcome back to do it on a dime you guys know how much i love the dollar store and today we are breaking down the dollar general and how to save huge there this video is not sponsored and i bet you your jaw is gonna be on the floor by the time we're done oh my gosh last december i took you guys into dollar general and all of us were so blown away by the amazing decor and items that they had this was really new for the store and here is why the dollar general is expanding and they've actually opened a new store called pop shelf they have a test market here in north carolina as well as tennessee it's like a dollar store meets ikea meets target it feels like you're in a really boutique store but most items are one to five dollars for a dollar pop shelf is basically dollar general on steroids and they have the same pricing and some overlap of merchandise and here are five things to keep your eyes peeled for i'll be in dollar general and pop shelf today just check the lower right hand corner of the screen to see where i am they're expanding top shelf all over the country in 2021 so super exciting plus both stores carry a lot of the same products who am i if i don't start by showing you organizing products these are some to keep your eyes out for we are getting organized if you need to redo a pantry pop shelf and dollar general are the place to come for the oversized containers the prices beat walmart and even ikea i also love the dollar general for the food storage containers for cereal and they have the same glass canisters and the true living brand for closet organization is 10 out of 10 quality highly rated and even cheaper than walmart this underbed organizer is just 450. i also love their baskets they have them for under ten dollars we use these all over our house and the furniture in dollar general is really good and all under twenty dollars [Music] [Applause] what i really like about a lot of these products is they mimic some of the higher end stores at that five dollar price point the pop shelf organizers blew me away in terms of quality a lot of it reminded me of west elm and the large storage containers in both stores are fantastic i love the sterilite brand with the latch hooks they're only a few dollars and i got some of these to help organize my craft room be sure to statistically dollar generals prices are 6.1 cheaper than walmart's prices for household items i don't even know what to say about this pop shop experience i'm just going to let you soak this in and leave a comment down below of some items that are catching your eye the serving ware section i think is a 10 out of 10 in both dollar general and in pop shelf not all items are crazy cheap but when you find some really nice ones you will know i brought a couple home for my new office space that i just love they have an amazing outdoor section with so many great finds i was really proud of myself this trip i didn't go too overboard but loved so many things that i found the next thing i would keep my eyes peeled for are the outdoor finds they have giant topiaries at dollar general that are 25 these are prices that cannot be beat not even by walmart or big lots [Music] and pop shelf and in dollar general keep your eyes peeled for the art they have so many items that are ten dollars in under and really a substantial size some of my favorites are the canvas sets because you get a big bang for your buck and i also love their picture frames but oh man pop shelf blew it out of the water look at this mirror it's ten dollars all of this gorgeous art is just ten bucks even these giant canvases i can't pick a favorite the frames are really cool too and i saw a lot of the same ones at dollar general [Music] next keep your eyes peeled for this sense i picked up these two candles at dollar general they are five and six dollars each and have amazing throw and pop shelf has an even larger selection with fragrant sachets and so much more this is the best price i have seen in a long time you will not regret the five dollar candle purchase just trust me [Music] what's really great about dollar general is they accept manufacturer coupons and they're always having clearances and sales on so many of those items and they are much cheaper than you're going to pay at walmart so many of my favorite go-to's and dusters name brand products you can find all of those at dollar general and hit a sale on top of it you are going to save big you guys have seen me use my extend reach duster all the time on my channel i just love it the top shelf shopping experience for cleaning products is insane they had name brand mrs meyers for crazy low prices and they even had the assemble yourself push brooms this push broom that mimics oh cedar is just five bucks i paid over ten dollars for mine and the cleaning caddies are only five dollars the cheapest i've ever seen them at walmart is seven you know i keep these under my bathroom sinks to make clean up a breeze and they even have dollar tree products in top shelf like la's totally awesome cleaner and a bunch of one dollar finds the microfiber glass cleaning cloths are awesome never pass these up if you haven't tried them they also have tons of eco-friendly options which i was really excited to see as well as wyman stainless steel cleaner a huge favorite of mine and this granite cleaner as well i brought both of these home i use them all the time around my house you can even use weiman wipes on your backsplash it works really well [Music] for me what sets dollar general apart from other dollar stores is they have a really good seasonal clearance too so at the end of this you can go through and find a ton of stuff
