Does the Xbox One X look better on a 1080p TV compared to the Xbox One?

hi there my name's Vince from my mate Vince comm and in this video today I'm going to try and show you how an Xbox one X can look better even on a 1080p TV so we all know that the Xbox one X is going to look good on a 4k TV with HDR but Microsoft also say that it looks better on a 1080p TV so that's what I'm going to try and show you in this video so basically on the left hand side here we've got the original Xbox on a nice 1080p monitor so I've actually given the original Xbox the better screen out of both of them they're both 1080p but this is a newer monitor while on the right hand side the Xbox one X is just connected to a very cheap 1080p TV and the reason they say that the Xbox one X will look better even if you have a 1080p TV not a 4k TV is because of something called super sampling so basically we're super sampling it takes a high-resolution image and then it scales it down to your TV doesn't matter if that 720p or 1080p so basically it's playing with more information to begin with so rather than having a 1080p image on a 1080p TV you've got a 4k image on a 1080p TV so there's a lot more information to play with and that's why it looks better so basically you're getting texture improvements you're getting faster frame rates and overall a better quality image so a good way to demonstrate this is to download insects from the Microsoft Store and this will allow you to toggle on and off 4k and even on a 1080p TV you will see the difference right okay so I've managed to pause it now on the same part of the demonstration now at this moment in time I've got the four cave toggled off on the Xbox one X so they're both gonna be the same image so the one on the left is on the really nice monitor this is on the original Xbox and as you can see there's nothing wrong with that at all is a 1080p image and it's looking good and you wouldn't be disappointed with that at all and likewise over here on the TV here the picture isn't quite as nice as the monitor it's a little bit more colourful but again you wouldn't be disappointed with it and you'd be quite happy with that but now what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna press X because if you have a look here I've got the option to toggle X on to make it for cake and although it's to the 1080p TV you will now see the difference now it's gonna be hard to see on the camera and on YouTube as well so it'd be best to just download this yourself insects from the Microsoft Store and then you can play around with it and you will be kind of amazed at the difference so I'm just gonna press X now to toggle it on and now if you have a look watch this I'm gonna talk about on and off so you'll see it when it's on it's blue down in the bottom corner here and when it's off it just goes to transparent now have a look at the little hairs or the fibers whatever they're called on this plants here I suppose on now and it's off can you see that when you put it on you'll actually see no fibers alright and now have a look at the actual ladybug itself right that's with it off and that's what's on can you see how much more it's more like smooth doubts that's off on off on and it just overall you just get much more detail test buff that's on off on and now if we go over to this one here although you know it is a good picture if you have a look closely can you see it's just much more pixelated so let's go back over here and let's turn it off I know that's going close so I that's off and now I'm gonna turn up on can you see how much more it smooths out now I've done of how well that is coming across on the camera but with my own eyes it really does make a difference that's on and off on off so I wanted to do the video just to show you that the Xbox 1x really does make a difference when it comes to a 1080p TV so obviously it's better if you have a 4k TV and a HDR TV but even if you haven't if you're planning to get one maybe in a year's time and you're in the market for a new console then it is still worth it because as you can see just from this picture alone it is still better when the Xbox one X is doing its magic on a 1080p TV so I hope you enjoyed the video please give it a thumbs up if you liked it and please subscribe for more how-to videos take care bye now
