Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
My approach when dealing with people like the man first up is to highlight Homer's work with the Odessey and the Illiad. In his books written pre Bible he talks about many real things and many magical things. He talks about Troy and the Trojan war and for many years Troy was thought no to exist.
But then they found it in modern day Turkey. So does the realisation that the places Homer mentioned in the texts mean that all the rest is true? No, it means it's a story set in reality with fiction and non fiction elements woven together to create a narrative.
Just like the Bible
This one was frustrating for me. I kept waiting for someone to say "It's (religion) all bullshit" I know that won't happen on this show, but the lengths that each faith goes to so they can explain scientific discoveries is too much. It felt like 2 steps backwards.
Is that Coolio in the audience? At 1:27?
