does body language and the evidence prove that Tiger Queen Carol Baskin fed her husband who mysteriously disappeared to her Tigers or maybe we can prove that she wasn't at all involved in his disappearance find out next welcome back to the channel shakers Derek venchik here like many of you I saw the Netflix docu-series Tiger King where it revealed the secrets of the exotic cat trade in the United States each episode just gets crazier and crazier the people involved or wacky and it's not just because they jump into cages with tigers lions and tigers but their lives are crazy in every way imaginable the main character in the show is Joe exotic yeah Johnny otherwise known as a tiger King the gate gun King redneck with a money and bran the GW zoo in Oklahoma USA his cross country nemesis was Gerald Baskin who I'm calling the tiger queen she runs our private exotic cat zoo called Big Cat Rescue and throughout the docu-series she claims to be morally superior to Joe exotic but personally I didn't see her zoo that much better to the big cats then Joe exotic zoo those big cats were still locked up in small cages in 1997 when Carol's second husband and multi-millionaire Dan Lewis was getting ready to file for divorce while also taking other legal precautions to keep himself safe from Carol Don magically vanishes off the face of the earth so we're gonna piece together the evidence along with breaking down her body language to find out if Carol could be involved in his disappearance now let's get started he used to call her angel well she's an angel sent straight from hell and one day you'll find out he was divorcing her that she was one of the worst people that ever met in his life and she was very dangerous he was afraid of her he indicated to me that he was going to tell Carol that he wanted a divorce never saw him again Don was about to divorce Carol but if he were to divorce her she would lose a lot watch this and I think he thought she was there solely for the purpose of getting his money she would have been left with really nothing she would have lost the cats yes Don not only has a lot of bank he also owns the big cats and the zoo not to mention that Don started to really enjoy his time down in Central America he would eventually move the big cat rescue down to the Costa Rica area he also had a girlfriend in Costa Rica yep Don was setting up his life down in Costa Rica he had a girlfriend in Costa Rica he was going to move the big cat zoo down to Costa Rica in other words he was getting ready to leave Carol in the dust take the big cats away from her and leave her without much money however if you were to vanish things would look a lot better for Carol don't you think keep in mind too those big cats are her identity it's not like claiming the dining room set in a divorce a serious motive for her becomes very clear Don started looking a little bit funny and he said here you need to take this home and you need to keep it if anything happens to me give it to the police what was in that envelope it was a domestic violence restraining order Don wrote this is the second time Carol has gotten angry enough to threaten to kill me Carol got in a big fuss she ordered me out of the house or she would kill me and if I came back she would kill me she has an H five revolver and took my 357 and hit it daddy never really involved the law it was just something that he resisted that is not something he would do unless he was at his wits end with how to protect himself and he was denied protection that shows a verbal argument and that's not enough to get an injunction that happened in June and he disappeared in August that's right within two months of Don writing that Don vanishes if you think this evidence is becoming overwhelming there's so much more I can't wait for him to call me he didn't call me I started calling him didn't answer the phone and didn't answer the phone I finally got a hold of Carol she says do you think I should call the police and I said do you think you ever thought someone you cared about was missing it's one of the scariest feelings on earth but apparently Carol didn't seem very scared or concerned the longer a perpetrator can prevent law enforcement from an investigating the more likely they're able to get away with it in the case of Don Luis the call came in as a typical missing adult however I would say within the first week or two the detectives were starting to look at the possibility that we had foul play or something that was unexplainable at that point in time a local millionaire vanishes without a trace but did he simply walk away or did something more ominous happen to him now see what you think of Carol's body language when she was interviewed by the media shortly after Don disappeared maybe that's it what do you think of Carol's a body language here did she come across as sincerely sad let's rewind it and break it down where is her tears there aren't any she's completely dry crying second her mouth goes from pointing down in sadness to immediately up forming what seems to be a brief smile typically when we're as sad as she was initially showing we don't break that drew be downward sad mouth that quickly to form a smile now it's time for her to look sad again look at where the points of her mouth are yep back again pointed down sharply this is clearly inauthentic sadness because also look at her eyes when we're authentically sad our whole face turns sad she's clearly putting a lot of strain and tension on her mouth to come across as very sad and forgetting about her eyes we would expect her eyebrows coming down and together holding back tears you try holding back tears and see where your eyebrows are but notice where hers are they're even kind of raised all that extreme fake crying tension we just saw cause her facial muscles to cramp so she had to stretch her facial muscles to release that uncomfortable muscle tension till do you notice any tears at all nope not one Carol's brother was a member of the Sheriff's Department some sort of well you know that's my sister I want you to tread lightly I never really knew my brother by the time I was 15 he would have been what nine okay because carol was six years older than her brother she claims she never really knew him just because he didn't play in the backyard as kids doesn't mean he didn't become close as adults but what she's doing is very common of a liar she's convincing and not just conveying she's giving us this bogus story and some diverting trying her hardest to convince you that she hardly knew her brother I wonder why it may be because this evidence right here is shocking watch the date that Don went missing Errol had left to drive to a nearby store named Albertsons to pick up some milk byproducts for the camps this is at three o'clock in the morning that's right at 3:00 a.m. that day Don magically vanished Carol drove to Albertsons grocery store to buy Tiger milk first Albertsons is a chain grocery store but Albertsons isn't open at 3:00 a.m. they typically close at 9:00 p.m. and it certainly wasn't a 24/7 grocery store 23 years ago the car broke down and Carol and ran into her brother who was accompanied by another deputy second deputy gave her a ride back to her home after that Carol indicated the last time that she saw her husband was just several hours later and he was never seen again when something very odd occurs right around when a crime occurs there's usually a connection between the odd occurrence and the crime it's because crimes are typically an odd occurrence in someone's life which causes a chain reaction of other odd events in their life around that time but I would have hoped that the detectives would have pursued that and made sure that there was nothing out of the ordinary about that Oh No Columbo there's certainly nothing out of the ordinary of Karol going to get Tiger milk at a chain grocery store at 3 a.m. when the store closes at 9:00 p.m. her van mysteriously breaks down and just so happens to come across her brother who is the cop all during those early morning hours of when Don mysteriously vanished is this guy for real you're probably wondering what does this guy do again I was a supervisor in charge of a homicide section with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa Florida which also works adult missing persons that's right at that time he was the lead supervisor homicide detective how does he not know whether or not his other detectives investigated that very odd and clearly suspicious activity by their number one suspect his wife just hours before dawn was said to have disappeared then after three or four days we found his vana abandoned at an airport with the keys still in it his briefcase in it but no Don Luis I think someone else drove the van there I don't know if it was planted there of course the van was planted there why would anyone drop their vehicle off at an airport leaving their keys and briefcase in it it doesn't make any sense and how would he got to Costa Rica he flew commercial out of Miami that's right Don would always visit Costa Rica by taking a commercial airline from Miami but Don did fly a lot of airplane said Isla his planes were small and you could not fly those things that far you'd have to make four fuel stops it's just not in the cards yeah it's completely hilarious to think anyone with why their tiny little Cessna airplane from Tampa Bay Florida to Costa Rica that's 1,000 261 miles and he would need to land four times in several foreign country islands to fill up his airplane of course he didn't do that he surely would have planned to fly on a commercial airliner like he did every other time when he flew to Costa Rica nothing at all to indicate that that Don left his van there and got in a plane and crashed it somewhere there was no record of any take off of an airplane there was no flight filed nothing no record of any missing plane no record of a crash no record of any plane taking off does that surprise you right it seems very obvious to everybody that he didn't fly his little airplane to Costa Rica but now listen to what Carol says Don lost his pilot's license the day after he got it so he never flew legitimately again every fight he ever did after that and there were a lot of them he was flying illegally so no he wasn't reporting that's right she's trying to convince you of that absurd possibility this is where again it's gonna look really bad for Carol any person with even half a brain knows it's obvious Don didn't fly he's a little airplane to Costa Rica all the evidence points that way it's very obvious but she's seriously telling us this far-fetched possibility is what happened to Don a truly innocent person would at least acknowledge that the possibility of him flying his airplane there is very slim but nope she's defending that bogus story with complete certainty a conviction he would go down over the Gulf of Mexico down underneath the level where radar picks you up if he had any kind of an accident out over the Gulf we never would have found anything see how she's continuing with what's clearly a bogus alternate story which everyone seems to understand his bogus except her so the key piece of physical evidence that she is pointing to is that they found his van parked at that little Airport and it's obvious to basically everyone else that his van was clearly planted there so then I wonder who was actually behind planting his van at that airport to make it look like he flew his little airplane to Costa Rica no one else seems to buy that bogus story she seems to be the only one I wonder why now in this next clip pay very close attention to her words especially after what we just heard her say and then we'll rewind it and break it down said to be sure and get the Costa Rica truck ready because he was leaving early early early the morning for Miami and that was the last thing that he said to me said to be sure and get the Costa Rica truck ready because he was leaving early early early in the morning for Miami that's right during this older interview she seemed to have slipped saying that he was going to fly out of Miami really early early in the morning for Miami remember Miami is the big airport Don would typically fly a commercial airliner from to Costa Rica now listen to this more recent interview clip which is very similar but it's oddly missing something big the last thing he said to me was that he needed me to have Kenny get a truck ready because he was going early early early he said the next day to Costa Rica did you catch it that's right she now's not saying that Don was gonna fly out of Miami now it seems that she slept in the first clip somebody sometimes some place somewhere somehow wanted to be rid of Don Luis my understanding was that he was killed the music video here kitty-kitty about Carol killing her husband [Music] these Tigers have such an acidic stomach that when you feed them a whole turkey there's no bones to come out but you can't prosecute there's just no use there's nothing the argument is that maybe the best way to dispose of someone so they're never found by law enforcement is maybe to be fed to a big carnivores such as a tiger although theoretically it seems effective to do that it also seems kind of risky because even if the Tigers leave anything behind even just a small bone that's all law enforcement needs as evidence I suppose some pieces are possible but then it's like what's even the point of doing that naranjas hands Carroll's defense is that it's impossible to do it while police though say that meat grinders were removed from the property several weeks before Don disappeared but then it just begs the question how do police know for sure that the meat grinders were removed at that time and why were they supposedly removed so close to when Don disappeared it was in the ground it was operational judy had moved into the property before Don ever disappeared so how how would I then put him in the settings hey Carol uncharacteristically looks away for a long time avoiding eye contact with the interviewer as she starts answering and then as she starts to build up the confidence to look back at the interviewer her shoulders begin to rise and stay there in self-defense of body language to subconsciously protect her vulnerable neck and then gives off what could be defensive laughter how would I then put him in the septic hey liars will sometimes laugh at what the truth actually is to make a possible legitimate claim sound absurd but it's not absurd at all because if it was completed then that could be where he actually is how wherever the sheriff said that the septic tank wasn't put in until years after Don disappeared everything this sheriff seems to say raises more questions than answers we need more of the interview footage to analyze to know more about both the septic tank and the meat grinder the detectives walked the property and drove the partner you talk about 40 acres if you're not careful you'll be young when you have that much property and over a hundred big carnivores eating other big animals daily it's sadly just easier for a person to disappear not saying of course Don is definitely on the property but it's a better possibility given the unique property there there was nothing there that suggested that they should pursue that area any further there were aerial searches done I found nothing police briefly looked around her property and then flew their helicopter over it the lead detective never mentioned how they combed through her property no yeah it sounds like they briefly just drove around the property looked around and were like no don't see him must not be here the will and the power turning they were all taken out of the office that day money seems to have been a big motive I was a power of attorney for both of them that new power attorney gave her control over the estate now with Carol taking power of attorney the document suspiciously has this word in it in 37 years never seen it say or disappearance everybody anticipates her debt but who in the world anticipates disappearance right it seems they've been drafted after Don disappeared so Carol can have complete control over his estate she was taking property out of Don's name and our names and putting it in her name the way it seems was that phase one was the sadly get rid of him and phase two was to make sure his estate goes to her I feel the one that would benefit the most from something happening to my father is Carol she knows we all feel the Carroll knows more than what she's telling you inherited only 10% of his estate and where did the rest go you know those who do things in a certain way whether on purpose or accidentally get rich in situations like this it's helpful to think what would a truly innocent person do it sounds too simple but it works innocent people act innocent guilty people act guilty so to easily understand that let's make it personal for each of you if you are completely innocent and you are wrongfully accused of killing a loved one how would you act would you be defensive acting slick and uncooperative no the wrongfully accused will typically be the biggest cheerleader an active participant in a law enforcement investigation because it will benefit them personally to help exonerate themselves and yes the guilty know that acting very supportive of an investigation will make them appear innocent so they will usually start out very cooperative with law enforcement but when law enforcement gets closer to key evidence that's when the guilty become less cooperative there's no way that I can finally say you can't do it Carroll is laughing about being wrongfully accused I can't imagine anything worse than being wrongfully accused of killing a loved one I know if I was wrongfully a top suspect of a murder I would do everything to prove my innocence to possibly put an actual murderer in jail while also trying to give their loved ones proper closure I'd be at the police station every day take a polygraph test search fields myself and hire investigators for as long as necessary however a guilty person won't continuously do much of that especially for any length of time because although initially it will make them seem innocent keep doing that long enough and they'll eventually prove their guilty we never felt that it was investigated well enough they did say Carroll was the prime suspect was there ever formal memorial five years after Donn disappeared Carroll was allowed to legally declare him dead and receive his assets in her name around that time we would expect there to be a funeral memorial to provide closure for her his family and his loved ones do you think Carol gave Don a memorial service that's right Carol decided not to have one it's mostly up to her she's the widow she received the majority of his fortune it's like she's not even trying to come across as innocent and just rubbing it in the faces of his loved ones that she wasn't caught so no one now Carroll seems to realize this is starting to look bad for her on camera so she seems to divert from the memorial talk to telling a story apparently hoping to convince you that she was sad now watch how emotional she gets remembering back to when it finally sunk in that her husband had died I remember the day his death certificate came I opened the letter and I just I remember looking out the window and then the next time I remembered anything it was pitch black outside it was just like I had just completely zoned but that was the closest thing that I had to a memorial for Carol she just seems so sad no and did you hear her say I had to a memorial closest thing that I had to a memorial right it's to make it seem to the viewing audience that she wanted a memorial but she never got one she's his widow she inherited 90% of his fortune she could have one tomorrow if she wanted but nope it's a complete slap in the face the Dons family and loved ones I'd love to be able to attend a funeral I see a headstone I would like closure that's why we haven't spoken out cuz you're afraid of Carol Baskin oh yes I am I am her driving to Albertsons grocery store at 3:00 a.m. when the grocery store closes at 9 p.m. to get Tiger milk which was hours before she claims she last saw it done this is key to the investigation and it's bogus that the police hardly even looked into it I think one of three things was going on there at 3:00 a.m. she was either trying to hide the body clean up the crime scene or prepare for committing the crime very suspicious that she just so happened to run into her police officer brother that early-morning also odd that her brother didn't drive her home but another officer did so here's what I personally think happened there's no physical evidence of dawn flying on any airplane that morning other than his van clearly planted there at that little airport which actually proves someone wants you to believe the bogus story that he flew his little airplane to Costa Rica which is to divert away from what that someone did and create an alternative scenario of what could have happened to dawn police claim that a lot of people could have wanted Don killed but even if that's true Carol is clearly the most obvious suspect based on motive her apparent prior threats actions body language and strongly defending the bogus scenario that Don flew his little airplane to Costa Rica some of the things that I've heard law enforcement say involving the investigation of this case are just baffling and confusing I'm not really a conspiracy theorist but it does feel like they really don't want this case to be solved I don't think Carol acted alone either hired someone or her police officer brother helped her doesn't seem very likely that she can carry a 170 pound dead weight man chopping her grinding is very messy and risky to get caught with DNA evidence throwing him into a hungry tiger cage is even more messy and risky that every drop of evidence won't be consumed he could be on the property whether that's in the septic tank or a hole dug with the excavating machinery that's surely on the property however given the fact that a person's home is the first place detectives look she probably ideally would have wanted to move him off the property her suspicious 3:00 a.m. Drive could have been to hide the body or the evidence she and if her brother helped me the story that she went out to buy tiger milk and her van broke down she parks her van on the side of the road with his patrol car behind her he radios in for another officer to drive her home while he gets a tow truck for her van he drives the van a short distance to the airport and parks it there to make it seem like Don flew his little airplane to Costa Rica she picks up her brother and drives him back to his patrol car that's where I think could have happened based on the Netflix docu-series and articles I've read much of the evidence and details haven't been made public yet because it's still an open case now in the comments what do you think happened to Don Luis was it the Tigers was it the septic tank did she hide him during her suspicious 3 a.m. Drive or maybe you somehow believe that he crashed his little airplane in the ocean let everyone know in the comments below give this video a thumbs up if you think Carroll Baskin was involved in Don
