DO NOT Order A C8 Corvette Until You Watch This Video!

you're not going to want to order your CA Corvette til you watch this video let's get right to it hello Curtis coming at you from the full octane garage and as many of you know I am a big-time Corvette guy I've had many Corvettes I've had museum deliveries on recent Corvettes and I've been eyeing the c8 Corvettes so I've done a little bit of research on ordering a c8 Corvette and I have some information that I think you're gonna want to hear there's been a lot of misinformation out there a lot of people are saying that there's every dealer is gonna have a dealer markup of five to ten thousand dollars and that is true in some places I've watched some youtubers try to go into the dealership and order their Corvette today and they act like they're going through the configurator and ordering their Corvette they are not ordering their Corvette they're not even picking any of the options that are going to be real life when the order forms come available as of the date of this video there is no dealer that's capable of putting an order in the system for your Corvette so don't be fooled by these YouTube videos up there with people pushing all the hype today I've ordered their new Corvette here's the real story the real story is they have put a deposit down on a Corvette at a dealer to hold a line position and it's very simple some dealers very large dealers out there on a highway will use two dealers as an example one is car back there the notice the world's largest Corvette dealer in the u.s. less Stanford in Dearborn Michigan is another Corvette dealer very large Corvette dealer I have had past experience dealing with less Stanford so I've got a little bit of information about them I am holding in my hand what we call a reservation deposit confirmation and a reservation deposit is just that it's a reservation to get a line in order to buy a CA Corvette they simply want $1,000 deposit in the form of a credit card or check and that is according to the left Stanford's document here and I will have a copy on the site here it is fully refundable 100% up into that point in time that you place your order and that's the official order in the system that my understanding is not going to be able to happen until late August or early September there are some Chevy dealers out here I believe Chevy dude has a video out there that gives a bit more detail out there about when they're going to be able to place orders and what that's going to mean the configurator online is just that that's what they think the options are going to be available at the time of order so you can go in build your hype build what you want to build in a Corvette and hope that those options are going to be available to order once you place your real order after the reservation has been completed now you go to some local dealers here in Nashville and I have heard that they want a 2,500 dollar deposit that is not refundable until the point in time the pricing of the new Corvettes come out the official pricing is not out of the Corvette's it's going to be under sixty thousand dollars as the starting price that is all anybody knows at this point no dealer out there has official information as of today on what the options are going to cost on a CA Corvette there are speculations and there are very good speculations that the options if you took a 20-19 Corvette and added about five thousand dollars to any configured option that you're going to be pretty darn close now there are options that aren't available in this year Corvette such as the raised rear wing who knows what that's going to cost that's probably going to be a pricey option because a lot of people are going to want it it looks really cool and I think that it will be a fantastic addition to a c8 Corvette but keep in mind that you don't know how much it cost right now so that's why it's really important to understand why less Stanford as an example takes $4,000 once pricing becomes available and he gets line orders available and as of the time of this video time of the email I got from Les Stanford was there are about two hundred and fifty people in line ahead of me if I were to place my order today I'd say my reservation today not my order so that means that they get an allocation the first allocation they have is a little over a hundred cars so I would be probably in the second allocation which means that I would most likely get a early delivery on my Corvette early spring of 2020 now I'm in Nashville less Stanford's in Michigan what I would do is do a museum delivery the museum is an hour and fifteen minutes up the road from me even if it was four hours up the road from me I would do the museum delivery option I have done this in the past on my 2014 Corvette it was a fantastic experience I highly recommend it for anybody you get a personalized factory tour you get a personalized museum tour you get some behind-the-scenes activity and you get to drive your car out of the Corvette Museum parking lot which is really really cool we had a real good experience it was about a close to $1,000 option so add another thousand dollars to whatever you think your Corvettes gonna cost and you'll get a nice museum delivery experience now I could fly into Michigan pick up my car drive it home without clear abroad without any protection you can also order that car from less Stanford and have a delivery truck bring it to your house for whatever the fee is going to be seven hundred thousand dollars whatever it takes to transport a car from less Stanford in Michigan to your location I have heard that many dealers are because you know think about this some dealers only are going to get an allotment of thirty Corvettes and they know there's going to be a high demand in their area and if all of the dealers in their air you don't have very many Corvettes they are going to put a premium on that Corvette and the premiums will range between five and ten thousand dollars is what I anticipate I have friends in California who have shopped around and they have gone to just about every dealer out there and they want a minimum of a five thousand dollar premium on top of the sticker price a minimum of sixty thousand so you can count on a sixty four thousand nine hundred ninety five dollar car if you get no options you know that's not gonna happen you know you're gonna get some options so the moral of this story and really what I'm trying to hit home at is shop around too many dealers look at a dealer like les Stanford look at a dealer like Kerr Beck Rebecca is also taking a one thousand dollar reservation fee to get in line they sell about three hundred Corvettes a month they've been doing their reservations probably before anybody else so they may have a lot more people in line we're les Stanford may not have near as many people in line and they they don't get near as many Corvettes either but they it's not a small portion I think they do somewhere in a hundred Corvettes a month if I remember last time that I talked to them they do have on their letterhead here America's Corvette King so that's got to mean that they probably sell a few Corvettes so why I want you to watch this video before you place a reservation or order on in on your Corvette I want you to first realize that if you're doing it today you are not placing an order you are placing a reservation and with this this document here says it is a first right of refusal spot at Les Stanford for a line number in their Corvette production now it does have a place to put the number in here I suspect when you fill this form out they're going to give you the number in line that you are so that nobody can jump in front there that's a pretty respectable thought and and I assume that they're going to honor that so when you place your reservation or ask the question how many Corvettes do you get a month what is your allotment for the first quarter or first half of the year based on past sales they should probably know this and then ask where you are in that allotment and keep in mind that allotments aren't always I get all z50 ones they may only have an allocation of half of the cars being z51 s and half of them being standard cars so it's important to also ask when you get this allotment how many of them are going to be the premium z50 ones and how many of them are going to be their regular cars that you probably aren't gonna want to buy and when you start looking at z51 with some options you're gonna be in the seventy-five to eighty thousand dollar ranges is Kurt's anticipation that's that's that's my prediction that you will be around seventy-five to eighty thousand dollars now that's one heck of a car for seventy-five to eighty thousand dollars I would say and I would highly recommend I mentioned Nashville dealers are wanting a twenty five hundred dollar deposit not refundable even until you order the Corvette so always ask when can I get my money back if I lay a deposit down what line number am i what are the restrictions to me getting my money back and at what point in time will I need to commit and pony up some additional money to place an order for my Corvette what I haven't asked les Stanford is how much extra money will I need at time of order it may not be any more they may if it's not a crazy outlandish you know bizarre color scheme they may want to get the car in their lot so they may be okay with that if I did a museum delivery they might want a little extra money for that museum delivery so those are some pretty serious questions that you'll need to get answered we hope that this is a very informative video that will give you an idea of what's I'll say minutia out there you're in the YouTube community and what is real life I been through the process I have ordered a museum delivery vehicle from Les Stanford so I am talking with a voice of experience I'm not just out there guessing it what's gonna happen I am NOT a first-time Corvette buyer like many of these YouTube guys are a lot of these youtubers are saying making a big production about their their purchase of the CAS and they're going down and picking colors and making it sound like they've got their orders in and that is a bundle of crap they don't have their orders in they have a reservation in so let's be very clear about this I'll probably get a little hate on this and that's okay because I want to shoot straight I want you to realize what the real story is out there do I have an order in on a CA Corvette no do I have a reservation in on a CA Corvette not yet but I am seriously thinking about it and that's why I've done all this research and I have uncovered a lot of myths and facts in the YouTube community that I think really need to be cleared up so again I hope you found this video very informative I hope to see you in a c8 Corvette sometime in the near future and please if you're finding things that are different when you go to the Chevy dealers if you're finding some dealers who are asking for premiums if you're finding that some dealers are not taking reservations let us know in the comments below we'd be very interested to hear what your experience is actually at the Corvette dealers if you have a Corvette dealer saying they're taking an order for you I'd be interested to hear that because I don't know how it's actually possible and I think that you will have a blast in the process once it becomes a real order you'll be able to at least track your progress know when it's going to get delivered and it's going to be a fantastic experience especially for all of you people out there have never had a Corvette and this is your first thought about getting a Corvette because it's mid-engine it's really cool and
