the soft plastic warm quite possibly the most widely used fishing lure of all time everybody has at least a few packs of these in their tackle bag or tackle box and I definitely have way too many soft plastic worms in mine now looking at this thing you never think that a bass or any fish in general would eat this thing like what does that even look like but for years the fishing companies told us man this thing looks like a snake he looks like a freshwater prawn looks like some eels fishing companies told us for so many years and that's what these worms represent and of course they've told us it represents the earthworm the actual worm that is named after but does it really represent an earthworm really any of these things that is what we will be discovering in today's video my name is Tyler Anderson and welcome to the underwater series do bass eat this let's head underwater so in this first scenario we have about a two pound bass circling around a shallow Bank we will first be dropping a drop shot rigged with a 5-inch finesse worm in a brownish color the closest that I could get to representing a real worm so let's see how this fish reacts now what I see here is that this fish doesn't seem to be very interested in the artificial worm and right there it actually seems to care more about the weight on the bottom of the line than the actual worm itself so at this point I switched out the soft plastic worm for a real worm so let's observe what happens so you can already tell that even though it's not an incredibly lively worm it wasn't very alive at the time that I picked it it still grabbed the fishes attention and looks much more natural and makes the fish move closer so I decided to take the warm out and rig it wacky style kind of through the middle and then this happened oops a bluegill stole it he said that looks tasty don't mind if I do so I grabbed a new worm rigged it up and bam the fish slurps it right up on the live work so whatever I talked about just now in camera it's pretty cool the live worm catches bass and maybe it does represent an actual warm kind of the Commodores throwing it's basically simple simple spinning combo with some 12 comrade I had to lose Mach 2 spinning reel and a loose custom speed stick gets you a beautiful bass let's get this fish back on the water where it belongs now on the second fish we will try the same experiment with the two worms first using the artificial and then switching to the actual live worm itself now right away you can definitely tell that this bass wants nothing to do with the artificial worm and in fact seems to be afraid of it now this footage was filmed that's all my underwater footage is during the spawn so fish feeding habits during the spawn aren't really similar to the rest of the year but I still believe that the ways in which fish eat worms don't change all that much so even though fish aren't fully focused on feeding at this point I think we can still learn something from watching bass eat in their habitat which is always fun to watch now I switch the camera angle up on this fish since I placed it wrong the first time but the fish still doesn't seem interested in eating the worm let's check out a replay of that though this fish finally took a bite out of the soft plastic worm but didn't fully suck it in it just sort of mouthed at it and then spit it back out this probably happens a whole lot when you're fishing a worm down on the bottom and you feel if they're sucking it and spit it out and set the hook and nothing's there that's probably exactly what this fish is doing down there where we get a visual representation this time but then the live worm goes into its bed and the fish reacts a little bit differently you know here it's keeping eye contact with the worm longer definitely showing a little bit more interest finally I flip it down there and he just can't resist but slurp it in let's check out a replay of that I love how he eats it too it seems like the texture of the worm is just so much easier for him to slurp in and thus you know what that may be why fish do eat live worms so that is it everybody hopefully you guys enjoyed that video it is a blast for me to bring the underwater content to you guys hopefully it blows your mind like your blows mine to see a fish eating a lure in slow motion super super cool I think I haven't subscribed yet to join me on my adventures around the world catching all sorts of fish make sure you guys click the subscribe button below if you enjoy this video may let me know by commenting down below and of course even if you guys didn't enjoy this video still leave a comment letting me know why so that I can improve and make my videos even better for you guys and as always you're on talent fishing I hope that you guys learn something that can make you a better fisherman no matter where you are in the country [Music] Oh
