good day folks Sean here from Air photography so DJI had a pretty busy day yesterday they released some new hardware a new set of goggles called the DJI goggles Integra and an updated motion controller called the DJI motion 2. now we are going to take a closer look at them at another video down the road but the other thing they did yesterday was release a firmware update for the Mini 3 Pro now this is a pretty important update a lot of people have been waiting for this so let's go ahead and take a look at the release notes to see what's been changed so you can see here's a new firmware for the Mini 3 Pro it's now version 1.00.0500 if we take a look at the release notes you can see it says it's added reset all settings and clear all data options and we will take a look at that here in a second however the big addition is added gain and Expo tuning so that's a pretty important update with the gain and Expo settings that they've added we can now adjust the maximum speed when in cinemode normal mode or sport mode it kind of mimics the old tripod mode a lot of people found when in cine mode and you put full stick forward it's still flew a little too fast you couldn't get really nice slow cinematic shots so let's go ahead here and we'll take a look at these new features if we go over to the about section in the settings and we go all the way to the bottom you can see we now have two options here reset all settings and clear all data so the reset all settings is going to put the controller basically back to factory like all the settings for the Mini 3 Pro back to what it was initially so that can be a handy tool especially if you're new and you've made some changes and you don't know what you've done you can go back and put everything back to default but the other interesting thing is now we can clear all data if we click on it you can see it shows us what it's going to clear it's going to clear data in the aircraft internal storage and SD card it's going to clear aircraft logs it's going to clear unlocking licenses and it just says there are other user data stored on aircraft and it does give you a warning there that if you've crashed your drone make sure you've contacted DJI first because some of the information that's going to be cleared they may need so if you've had an accent with your drone or you've crashed it and you need repair work done on it don't clear your data and until you've contacted DJI but this is great for if you're going to be selling your drone you can go in and clear everything make sure your user data and information is not going to be in the hands of somebody else so now let's go ahead and take a look at the gain in Expo settings we'll go into our settings we'll go over to control and if we click on gain and Expo tuning you can see right at the top here we have all our new speed tools if we take a look at what we can adjust we can adjust the horizontal speed the ascent speed and The Descent speed so if you want to raise the altitude of your drone a lot slower or decrease it you're able to fine tune that but the important one that a lot of people make use of is the horizontal speed that's how fast it'll fly forward and backward it'll allow you just to get in there and slow it down if you do want some really nice cinematic slow shots we can go all the way down to 3.6 kilometers per hour so that can be an important setting for some people now they did add another setting in here and that's called brake sensitivity basically if you're flying full stick forward and you let go of the stick to put it back in the center the brake sensitivity will take how long it takes for the Drone to come to a complete stop that can help alleviate some jerky movements now this video is just more of a heads up taking a look at it I am actually heading out in about an hour uh maybe two hours to go do a test flight to test out these new features so I will be uploading a test flight of the new firmware and the new fly app hopefully tomorrow morning now just a little bit more information here when you update the firmware for the aircraft it's going to update the firmware for the DJI RC which is also going to update the fly app at the same time which is now version 1.9.8 if you use the original rcn1 controller in a smartphone DJI updated the fly up for that as well so you'll have access to these new features as well now another interesting thing to note is you can see that I've bound the Mini 3 Pro to my RC Pro but there is no update for the RC Pro yet so if we go into our settings here we go to control we go to gain and Expo tuning you can see that those new features are not there yet same if we go to about we go down to the bottom you can see those reset options are not there either so unfortunately you can't make use of those new features with the RC Pro I assuming it's just a matter of time before that does come but in the meantime you can still use your other controllers and make use of those new features well folks that's basically it for this video hopefully you enjoyed it and got some value out of it give it a thumbs up if you did it is truly appreciated when you do that thanks a lot and we'll see in the next one
