DIY - Modern staircase (Easy)

[Music] hi guys and welcome back to my channel if you are new welcome my name is Hannah and I am the Monmouth mussel and in today's video I thought it would be fun to showcase a little DIY I am currently in the process of doing a DIY project here at my home and if you guys are new welcome my husband I moved into our new home about five months ago and this home is a tract home it is a brand new build so we are the first people to live in this house and while I do love this house and I think it is beautiful I do want to make it custom I do want to make it special to us as you guys know attract homes you know you have certain models to choose from and certain selections to choose from however I wanted to make this house as custom to us and is personable to us as possible so I've been doing little things here and there like adjusting paint colors or changing out fixtures changing out handles just little things like that things that I actually really love doing and don't cost a lot of money so I figured it'd be really fun to just showcase some of the DIYs that I have been doing it our house here and this is not going to be turning into a DIY channel this channel is me this channel is about my life so I figured it would be fun to just showcase some of the things that I am doing in my life and one of those being DIY my husband absolutely thinks I'm crazy for wanting to change everything he thinks the house is perfect as it is which it is perfect don't get me wrong and I love it very much but like I said I just want to take it to that next little notch so currently we are in my kitchen right now and I have changed a ton thus far only being five months I've changed pendant lighting I have changed handles we are going to be putting in a fireplace here in the next month or so this house had not cometh apart none of the models actually came with fireplaces inside the house so that is something that I it's a must-have for me so that is the next thing on our list and then we're actually going to be installing beams here in the next couple months as well so little things here and there but the project that I'm going to show you guys is my staircase so I will be showing you guys the little glimpse of my staircase and there is nothing wrong with the staircase but there are some things that I'm going to tweak so I'll show you guys that and I hope you guys like these videos I'll just plan on recording anytime that I have a little project here and I hope you guys enjoy make sure to LIKE comment and subscribe make sure to hit that Bell button for every time I upload videos in as always I love you guys so much thank you so much for your love and support and we'll see you guys in my next video I have all of the items that I'm going to need for this project so I picked up a gallon of the white paint for the baseboards some protective canvas for me to put all of my items on as well as a small paint tray a cutting brush and a small semi surface roller so these are my items and we're gonna get to it alright so this is the entryway to my house and as you guys can see I've already started this project this is our staircase and it took me about I don't know two hours in total when writer was sleeping to tape this stuff off and get it prepped so my goal for the staircase is I am going to be painting these bottom halves of the steps white and I'm going to be changing the railing to black I figured it would be really nice to just show a little bit of dimension so like I said all the bases of the stairs are going to be white and the staircase railing is going to be black though I have gone along and I have done all the prep work I have taped off everything that I want to protect so again so all of the all of the actual railing itself will be black and then the base is going to stay white but as you guys can see this has been a lot of prep work and it's gone all the way up overlooking so I'm really excited to paint this it is going to be time-consuming I was actually talking with my husband last night I'm like how the hell are we gonna paint this top half I mean this is a two-story house and yeah we're gonna have to get creative but this is the first project that I wanted to show you guys and we'll see how it how it turns out so this is kind of the before for you guys [Music] okay so this is day three of my stair project so I panted all the stairs between two days I did the coat last night the second coat of paint so now everything is dry and dried overnight so Ryder and I are going to take the tape off the best part dry take some tape up [Applause] [Music] and this is the final final project you guys so what's next is going to be the railing but here are the steps finished I feel like they came out super well there's a couple touch-ups I need to do but that's just you [Music] [Music] [Music]
