Disney Cast Member EXPOSES Star Wars Galaxy's Edge!

hey what's going on everyone how you guys doing today my name is Matt Jarboe this is 3 buck theater and I'm sorry for the dimly lit room I just it is where I am however yesterday I posted a video about Star Wars Galaxies edge and I was talking about how there isn't a lot of people there that there's just not a lot of people there at all and a lot of people were responding agreeing with my thoughts my theory is that it was the the pricing and it was the time of year and everything else right so yesterday lo and behold I'm at Comic Con I'm at the Amazon Prime booth doing a media thing and I ended up getting to talking with a girl in line with me now that girl happens to be a Disney cast member she works directly at Disney Land and I'm like oh great I got to talk to you you're not at work you're not you're not in costume you're not in character there's no prying eyes from Big Brother Disney here give me the rundown give me the lowdown on exactly what went wrong what's happening with galaxy's edge and this is what she had to say so my assert a shion's was that it was too high of a price because I had complained that it was a hundred and fifty dollars for a one-day one park ticket 200 if he wanted to go to both that nearly broke my damn bank and it turns out I'm not the only one Disney according to this cast mate cast member flat out out priced themselves Knott's Berry Farm Universal Studios are full this time of year Disney Land is not and that is a big big big big big big problem considering the time of year that it is now another reason she told me was because of the blackout dates if you have a socal select or deluxe blackout so if you get the the yearly membership if you get all that stuff and you're blocked up for this particular month that's actually a pretty big reason for it she says that a lot of people tend to come in but even though those particular those particular SoCal select and deluxe you know season passes have blackout dates in July on average usually that doesn't impact everything because the park can hold above 50,000 people in it and on average it pulls in 45 to 50 thousand people even though it can get a lot more so if it can pull the people in if it's known for pulling the people and obviously the price is a big big big factor and that didn't surprise me in the slightest so the next thing she told me actually legitimately surprised me because I was not looking at it from that perspective when I was at Disneyland I was being cheap because I am cheap I'm you know just in general and I felt a hundred and fifty dollars just to go into the park was a lot of money and going into galaxy's edge there wasn't a lot to do outside of shopping and I made that comment to her and she's like exactly there's nothing for kids to do and that actually clicked the light bulb light bulb off in my head there's nothing for children to do in galaxies edge now we know that they don't have a legacy characters there's no hon there's no Vader there's no Luke there's no Leia there's no Threepio there's no r2d2 no Lando Calrissian there is a Chewbacca there is a Chewbacca there is a Wookiee but that's really about it and we don't even know if it's chewy it's definitely chewy you know what I mean it's definitely chewy but obviously it could kind of be any Wookiee that just happens to wear a bandolier and and you know like eight feet all right so there's about that but other than that they have kylo they've got some stormtroopers and they have a Rey now the Rey I did actually happen to witness while I was there there was a little girl who was lost and she actually found Rey and the actress of the cast member took great care of this child and I was watching it predominantly because I have a little daughter and I was kind of like wondering how my kid would think about this and then also just the level of care that the Rey put into interacting with the girl and helping her find her family it was I'm not gonna lie guys it was I was like I was getting I was touched I was really touched I thought that was great and and I liked that she was you know even accent specific she had a British accent so that was actually pretty cool but how was about it that was really about it if you want to go to the cantina the cantina costs are a lot of money they have a $42 drink there's a drink there that literally you know poisons you not poisons you but like makes your mouth goes numb it kind of drugs you that's something that you can do inside there they also have the Droid Shop which is a hundred dollars if you want to get a droid and that's just to assemble it not to buy all the accessories and if you want to go and make it as a lightsaber you've got a right you gotta set your reservation at seven o'clock that morning you can't just come in off the street and go hey I want to drop $200 on a goddamn lightsaber it's just insane what they do and it really does feel like galaxy's edge is like a shopping mall and that girl was right the cast member was absolutely right when they have nothing for kids there to do there's no reason to bring them to the park waiting 40 or 50 minutes for the money you Falcon right sure that's not that bad but that's about it that's really really really about it and it's surprising when you think about it so yeah Disney really screwed themselves with galaxy's edge they dropped a billion dollars on a park with nothing to do on a theme land with nothing to do outside of buy more things and that is not good their pricing too high a lot of people can't afford it a family of four going to one park for the day it's $600 no way that's not worth it that's not worth it at all and you know I mean it goes to show you that Disney and we've all known this for a while is absolutely based around capitalism and no longer about necessarily creating the experience the problem with the galaxy's edge is that it's not meant for Legacy fans I'm rockin a Star Wars shirt right now that I've worn since 2016 I've got my Star Wars hat my Star Wars wallet you know I love Star Wars if you know me you know that I love Star Wars I paid a hundred and fifty dollars kind of to go check out Star Wars and yeah I'm the kind of person you want to get in that door but even as much of a fan as I am as much of even in some aspects the Star Wars apologist as I am and I've been accused of that before it's very hard it's very difficult to look at this specific situation this specific Park and and not realize that it's exactly what a lot of people been saying it's just there's just nothing there and a cast member for me yesterday confirmed it and that is sad so I really hope that Disney listens to the YouTube videos on this one because a lot of people are talking about it and not in a positive way and it can tank the brand just like it might have actually hurt the Star Wars theatrical you know earnings we don't know yet but that could be a thing anyway I just wanted to get this off
