welcome on board the van for today's drive along here in gy I just going down the lanes here so this is actually a diversion and I'm going to come out at on the main road and we're heading to M&S at lelay so you're going to see what it's like to drive in gy in the lanes so it's a temporary speed limit 20 of 20 actually and uh I love this Lane that's why I wanted to give a give show everyone out there so we are currently heading sort to North End of the island and I'm following a diversion as I mentioned earlier quite a few road closures there's some really nice houses down this Lane so you get to see what typical Lane is in gy I live here and uh if you're new here I do Drive alongs like this and walk alongs so welcome to gy and the Channel Islands I know a lot of you have been into the channel before so welcome back I'm not in my van today cuz I've sold my van in the Ford Fiesta and we're going right here and just before we get started I just want to mention um I've got another talk about all the food we have here in gery so might be interested in that yeah look at the uh look at the land and I don't know it's not this isn't a lane I normally go down so it is really nice down here we have some really nice houses talked away sometimes if you have been to gy You'll sort of know that you'll find yourself down little Lanes where there's beautiful properties that you haven't seen before maybe set back from the road or they're down a little you know a cart track there's some really really nice houses here in gy especially on the cliffs as well um but this is why I like going down these little Lanes cuz sort of see old old gy I call it so I'm not aware if this is one way or two-way I'm guessing it's one way cuz it's a diversion but you never know around we go yeah look at this this is a lovely bit of land on the left there nice big open field there someone Garden I would have thought just look at the trees it's a beautiful day I love days like this imagine end of this road in a minute as as in coming towards the main road and I think it's just here yeah so you can see the diversion sign it's taking telling me to go back the other way oh well I can go either way here I go right or left but I probably follow the diversion for a change this is going to take me back to the traffic lights at Camp duir if you're familiar with gy Camp Dew you'll know where I'm on about and if you're not from gy you won't know what I'm talking about but it's a place called Camp D so I'm going to go to the traffic lights and left cuz we're heading towards M&S or marks and Spencer as you may know it better as you be Cycle World on the right there cycle shop but that's gone and godons over there so left yeah what a nice day look at this lovely clear sky sun's out it is quite cold though uh the time of filming this it's January so it's still a bit nippy but you know I'm not complaining I'd rather have it like this and raining any day just waiting for the traffic lights to change there we go and we are off so you'll notice a different road now not small this is typical roads of gy typical size most of them are this size I'd say and we'll be heading down towards the filter in turn and I'll just mention a little bit about that once we get there and funny enough just thinking about it I think right at the beginning of this video I said welcome on board my van which is an absolute habit um because I'm not in a van I'm in my Ford Fiesta so I apologize about that I just thought I think I said I think I said welcome on board my van I've just done so many Drive alongs on my van it's just habit but of course I'm not I'm in not in my van I'm in a Ford Fiesta and I'll try and remember that for next time oh I don't know if anyone picked up on that let me know if you did or not now this is a filter inter turn system whoever go gets their first goes through we go filter and turn system traffic lights coming up are they going to be green or are they going to be red they're looking green to me sell on through and we got Capel here on the left so if you need any tiles for your bathroom that's where you go loads of tiles they do all other stuff there as well bathrooms stuff like that very popular place in gy I think it's a family run business that cap Els that's where I got my bathroom from really good highly recommend them got my tiles there as well and uh yeah very good just heading towards another set of traffic lights [Music] [Music] and just looking up at the sky there is beautiful the the sky is so clear there's I can't even see a cloud so it's probably going to be cold tonight normally when it's clear sky temperature drops a bit yeah looks lovely doesn't it I love days like this here we go so I'm going left here just passing oatlands on the right and this is where our Marks and Spencers is at lelay I come here a lot this is about 10 minutes from my house so come to M&S quite a bit so I'm going to pull in here
