I just felt bad for OKC, especially Ibaka and Collison. They were doing absolutely everything right in regards to guarding Dirk. Dirk was just unreal in this series.
the 2011 Mavs were one of the most mentally tough teams I have ever seen. They had haymakers thrown at them for the entire playoffs and the never buckled, never quit and just kept coming at everyone. Dirk has always been one of my favorite non-Celtics, it was soooooo satisfying to watch him finally climb to the top of the mountain in truly epic fashion.

That run was so beautiful. Chemistry on point, incredible team defense, no bullshit and then Dirk played like 2k on easy. He had like 50/52 ft for the series after that game iirc.
The competition they had was insane too. Young and coming OKC, former champ the Lakers, the three headed juggernaut in the finals...
This happened in game 2 of the Finals too but it was under 7 mins. Dirk had 10 straight points and a game winner to end it iirc
Probably one of the most disrespected finals winners ever. People look at more as the biggest choke in the LeBrons career and I don’t think the Mavs really get enough mention in the conversation
They were fouling dirk every time he touched the ball bc they knew the refs wouldn’t call a foul every play and he still smoked them
Dirk was GodMode that entire playoffs. Once i saw him against OKC, I knew he was going to win it all
