let's chop chop guys we got to make some time had this opportunity make my weight all the way down Lake Tahoe I got to get to a wedding of a very deep friends of mine and I've known the girl since she was little she getting married Nick wouldn't attend just any wedding but the bride-to-be a girl named Shay is the daughter of his close friend Jackie and makes long regarded them both as family how long is it take you to get there as long as it does I got to cover a lot of land hopefully I make it by the deadline no wedding attending this wedding means a nearly four week trip on foot into Northern California so today Mick will tie up loose ends and prepare to say goodbye I got to get a lot of gear ready and start making my way over the last three decades nick has lived right here in the HOH and he rarely ventures far from the forest my home is in the wild and off the grid but going on a journey always a great adventure though Mick prefers his unique lifestyle in the woods family and friends have always been the most important thing and they're the one reason he'll leave it all behind family's so important if anybody in the clan or a family needs me I'll do the best I can to help out today will be mixed last day in the whole four months to come something there and before he leaves he's got a lot to do yeah I'm going to a stash I ain't been to in a long time and if you don't ever go back to him means you didn't need him oh man this is all filled in ah got a shovel on nope god yeah let me see my pulls up at this - was created with Mick first left civilization behind and began shedding belongings from the modern world oh sure I used to wear shirts like that hard to believe I even live that way it's me so long as he unearths its contents most seemed to be from another lifetime my old motorcycle jacket yeah yeah I had a Harley at one time oh look at this yeah it's back in the days when I used to toothbrush I was pretty hygienic back in those days then I discovered pine cones most of the gear he's digging up won't do any good on the journey ahead oh yeah this stuff is buried but there is one thing here he'll need as he ventures into California here it is this is what I'm after the most important thing you need walking around modern civilization papers walk around a city barefoot I guarantee you you got to be able to identify yourselves that's my Oberst etiquette look at my little footprint I always thought that was some kind of omen destiny
