Digging around a little island in the creek: Uwharrie Gold Prospecting, Panning and Sluicing.

[Laughter] all right so before we uh head out on a long trip to go to deari we figured we waste some of the dog's energy here and uh go to the dog park cuz she's unbearable in the car otherwise for the 2hour drive all right back to Creek back at it again and you can see here is uh some hard packed heavy Rock washes up here this little island on this flood go comes right across here and you can see the water's not really moving now because it's a little stagnant it's not not much flood gold going on not much water how much water here some water gets through here you can see it trickling down there barely getting through so what I'm tring to do is I'm going to punch some holes in some various spots at this island cuz I always wanted to try it see what I come up with so I'm back at it again and again brought the pickaxe and uh probably going to start here at front of the island and punch a hole in the front punch a hole in the front right around here maybe two go over there where it drops off a little bit maybe there punch a hole and the back side right here a punch a hole maybe even up in here where it dips in there's a little dip right here see what's going on there maybe I'll get lucky this is where when this flood water comes out around here and back out that way this small hard packed Rock right here lot of lot of quartz heavy stones in here so let's give it a shot lot of lot of quartz here big courts called quartz Island I guess grab some of this dirt and see what I come up with all right the biggest problem I'm going to have here is running water CU it's not running too good here so I'm going have to take this probably down stream a little bit I see where it was running a little bit maybe even over here somewhere just to get this stuff through the classifier classify it down and then uh test it out see what we got this is a whole one all right so first hole dug out there have some of the dirt in the bucket out there it's only place I can get some good water and now I'm going to try this little divot here seems like things might come over this and just drop down in there so I'm going to clean this out a little bit and do the same thing I'll dump it in the same bucket and then maybe one more hole and then I'll pan it out and see what I got all right so another day with not much water pressure but uh du a couple holes out of that island where all the quartz rocks were packed in and I'm just going through that dirt now and I'm going to run out through the mini slle again because I can't set up the big slle and uh should be pretty easy because it's not clay just regular like mud so see what we got there all right you want to videotape this what's that you want to videotape this yeah keep going see there's not much pressure but it's still still moving it up and along a little bit I didn't classify it all the way down so there's a bigger chunks of material in there probably should have went one more one more level down out I went with this like a there's a worm on there the bottom of the great went with this but it has too many big pieces in there and I want to break down a little bit more so I'm going to go with a smaller size right here back part one more level down not too much in here should be rather quick probably more worms than here too all right we're good all right so classifying it down got out this much more rocks yeah must the run through the SL all right so I guess it's worth it all right we're good little guy in there this scam why a couple of them so it's getting late quick um plus a few holes got the concentrate some there after RH through this loose and now I'm just going to break apart my little Dam here make it back to normal always put the creat back the way it used to be at least as close as possible all right till next time all right so this is all the conc brought home from digging around that little uh hard packed Island I was on uh so we going just pan this out see what we got let's get to it so there you have it not much from the island um probably not worth doing just a couple couple pieces there some real micro stuff inside there too um I won't be doing that again I'll stick to the creek till next time see you
