Diecast Rally Racing | Event 1 (pt. 2) Qualifying Round

[Music] and welcome back to the 3dbopmaker diecast rally championship here we are for the second half and the qualifying round of event one of season two all eight drivers will get a second run down the track the four fastest drivers will move on to the championship rounds leading the way once again is three-time champion superman stephen king in the ford escort king currently sitting in second place with that 18.122 second time he's gonna want to improve on that time if he wants to secure his spot in the top four king over the first jump getting a little loose back there bubbles his way over jump two here he goes to the big turn that's a challenging section to navigate here he comes and superman stephen king finishes with what what would he call that modest air well if he went back to the beginning of the old track that actually would have qualified as a big air actually looking at it again his nose touches around the 15 mark his tail was around the 10. it was a clean landing but more importantly look at his time 16.446 seconds that's a solid improvement he shaved over a second and a half off of his time that right there might secure his spot in the top four here's your current leader kid do not driving in the ford escort he got a 16.4 second time in the first half do not lost to king in that epic battle last year and ever since then he is out to beat him do not having a little trouble back there here he comes to jump to now going through the big turn he's picking up a speed out of that turn flat out to the finish there we go that was not a pretty landing but man he got that thing up in the air yeah he definitely outshines stephen king in the big air department time a little slower 16.9 so he'll stick with his first time of 16.4 here's the replay of that jump his back end going up way too high you gotta admire the kid he is fearless here it is from the jump cam look at that wow when you look at it from that angle he was way up there kid do not will remain in first place right now looks like the ford escorts are dominating once again in the drc hey i wouldn't mind seeing kid do not and stephen king going at it head to head once again here we go with championship driver angie stigg and the renault magon trophy she played it safe the first time let's see how she does this time whoa that's not playing it safe she's definitely picked up the speed here she goes into jump two that was clean angie stick into the final turn she's looking fast is she going for the big air oh angie stig with a clean jump at the end that was an overall very clean run and look at that time 15.884 seconds angie stig came into this round and said move over fellas the stig is here they don't call her the stick for nothing look at that jump that was just beautiful that right there is how you land a jump here it is again from the big jump cam yeah that was clean angie stig now setting the pace for this event with a sub 16 second time i think it's probably safe to say she just secured her spot in the top four here we go with ryu asada he got a dnf in the first half he was looking fast but he wrecked on jump two whoa rio santa turning around he's doing the jimmy let's see how he can handle going backwards clean over that jump he's picking up speed oh he's going for it he's going for it wow oh my goodness ryu asada into stephen king look at that time though 15.604 seconds and he did that going in reverse you know i might get some hate for saying this but move over crazy jimmy don't you dare finish that there's a new tomato don't do it in town blasphemy i'm just saying jimmy choose your words very carefully right now jimmy's amazing we love him i got a t-shirt to prove it and we should just end it right there but have you ever seen jimmy do this that was pretty crazy that's all i'm saying but we haven't seen jimmy race today all right fair enough we've gotta watch this about two more times i think in reality this was a failed jump but man it was spectacular here it is again okay right there i swear i saw ryu sada through his windshield blowing me a kiss that's just weird i know it made me feel uncomfortable are you sure he wasn't flipping you off uh that is a possibility i think it's more likely that actually makes me feel better up next is dylan driving in the lancer evolution the time to beat is 16.446 he's gonna need a clean run here's jump one dylan's spinning around he's doing the jimmy too these guys are wild it's the crazy jimmy's challenge dylan flying down the track in reverse whoa he's going quick dylan with the reverse big air and look at that oh my goodness dylan just broke the 15 second time barrier and landed a reverse big air i don't think we've ever seen anything like this we have seen reverse big airs before but this was next level crazy jimmy inspiring a new trend in rally racing here it's the crazy jimmy challenge all the kids on tick tock are doing that he had so much speed going backwards through that turn look at that oh that was amazing look at that distance look at that height incredible you know i might get some hate in the comments for this 2d be careful move over steve are you sure you want to finish that because there is a new on the record here man think about it for a minute superman in town oh look what you just went and did although i do have to agree it hurt me to say and just like that stephen king is out of the competition the king has fallen but i still got hope in my guy right here crazy jimmy let's see if he pulls a reverse maneuver straight over the first jump he gets wobbly right there i think he just needs to focus on speed over jump to not the best landing through the final turn come on jimmy pick it up slams into the barrier and he spins out oh no he does pass the finish line let's see what his time was it's not gonna be good it is an improvement from his last time but it is not gonna be anywhere near fast enough 17.290 seconds oh man it's like watching all my heroes fall in one day to be fair though crazy jimmy was never a good rally driver yeah that's true maybe he should stick to racing exotic cars in a pontiac what about an all fiero race uh no we've got a full schedule already come on the fans wanted stephen king is out jimmy is out we still got two drivers to go right now kid do not is on the bubble 16.4 seconds is the time to beat and we've got bobby roberts in the porsche 914 safari he got a dnf on his first try let's see how he does here bobby roberts approaching jump one nice landing there going straight into that turn this is where he had problems some nice air there by robert's on jump too he is going for it i think he's going all in on this one again way to add insult to injury for the king wow stephen king's car gets hit again and that time by bobby roberts 15.566 seconds it's gonna put him in the top four the kids out that is gonna bump out kid do not and team ford racing bobby roberts throwing no fear and look at those flags still intact i think someone lost their air compressor there i gotta say i'm a little surprised here last year the ford escort was the car to beat now both of them out of the competition in qualifying bobby roberts in second place with that time of 15.566 seconds angie stig is now on the bubble and here's our last competitor filipino driver pedro panduco driving in the porsche 911. he's a rookie driver in the drc i'm liking this guy he comes prepared a nice jump there lands it straight he's looking good so far he's approaching jump to whoa what just happened that's called a jump i didn't know that was even possible he's going for the air crash and burn oh wow but it was still amazing you wanna know what's even more amazing what 3d the track time no pedro penduko is the second driver to get a sub 15 second time wow 14.788 seconds you know what 3d i think i just found my new favorite driver right there he's good not only was he fast he went down the course in style that jump he did off too is the highlight of the day for me yeah pedro penduko did the complete opposite of playing it safe and it paid off in space spades what now spades the phrases paid off in spades oh i thought it was like an astronaut reference here's one more look at his final jump from the jump cam i think the cargo on his roof might have pulled him forward yes but it also means he was prepared in case of a crash and here are the top four drivers advancing on to the championship rounds dylan driving the 08 lancer revolution in first place pedro panduko in the porsche 911 in second bobby roberts in the porsche 914 safari in third and ryu asada in the launch of delta into gravley in fourth wow so two rookie drivers made it into the championship and two championship drivers I just went down a rabbit hole... It looks like this guy (singular, he does both sides of the commentary) is running tournaments for diecast racing aficionados. They actually send in cars, he races them, and then makes these videos.

I _LOVE_ this series! Been following it for a couple years. Not only is it fun to watch the races/wrecks but the 2 guys commenting never fail to crack me up. "We've got lots of waivers standing by for signing." You really need to watch the series from the start to get all the inside jokes/remarks to get the full larfs.

I dunno... Die Cast Rally is a serious thing, I think the drivers that completed the run in reverse took an unfair advantage and should be disqualified or at least get a time penalty. The rookie Penduco raced fair and square and should have won the event.
