what's up everybody hope you had a wonderful week and welcome to the latest edition of the stepen A Smith show coming at you as I love to do at the at the very least three days a week over the digital Airwaves of YouTube let me get right into it want to thank y'all first of all subscribers of eclipse 658 th000 really really appreciate the love keep the love coming I'mma keep on coming let me not waste your time let me get right into it because as the days have gone by particularly this weekend you knew what I talked about this last Friday you know what I talked about just a few days ago in regards to P Diddy well guess what there's more because last Friday on this very show I responded to the shocking the stunning the reprehensible video that CNN released showing P didy physically assaulting his then girlfriend Cassie Ventura it happened in 2016 in the hallway of a now closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City California right by Avenue of the Stars the video was Frank it's look it's frankly shocking appalling and obviously it sent reverberations throughout the world over Diddy's physical and emotional abuse of a young lady I'm one of many people who spoke out against the violence we all witnessed this past weekend didd he eventually responded to the CNN video this Sunday morning before I go into anything else before I say anything else I got several pieces of sound footage I'm going to show you the first was going to be P Diddy and his apology take a look it's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life sometimes you got to do that I was [ __ ] up I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses my behavior on that video is inexcusable I take full responsibility for my actions in that video disgusted I was disgusted then when I did it I'm disgusted now I went and I sought out professional help had to go in the therapy and to go on the rehab had asked God for his mercy and Grace I'm so sorry but I'm committed to be a better man each and every day I'm not asking for forgiveness I'm truly sorry oh [ __ ] before I even get it before I even give you my opinion I've got an obligation to let you know we have yet to hear from Cassie but one of her lawyers released a statement on Sunday following Diddy's apology here's what she had to say col's most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt when Cassie and multiple other women came forward he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a Payday that he was only compelled to quote unquote apologize once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words end quote she's right because here's Diddy statement back in December of 2023 just a few months ago and this was a month after Cassie had filed her lawsuit which is where I was going this is Diddy statement quote enough is enough for the last couple of weeks I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character destroy my reputation and my legacy sickening allegations have been made Against Me by individuals looking for a quick payday let me be absolutely clear I did not do any of the awful things being alleged I will fight for my name my family and for the truth that's where I was going because I want to know first and foremost who the hell was the pr person or the advisor or somebody who was dumb enough to tell him to do that [ __ ] video it's just dumb just dumb but I'll get into all of that in a minute because before I go any further into my opinion I want to show that of another person who spoke out the one and only Ryan Clark football analyst extraordinaire who had this to say on his very very very popular podcast the pivot the first thing and we need to be honest like Sean Colmes is a [ __ ] yeah right and I think the men who are around him and knew he was that they [ __ ] too I do have two little girls and we sort of got into the conversation when he was brought up by Floyd Mayweather and some of the things he was saying is like no if he did those things he's a monster if he did those things he should rot in jail and it's not to say that he should be in a place to where he could never be forgiven that's between him and God that's between him and Cassie but we can look at that as men and say that some things you don't get to come back from there are things that you don't get to come back from and I'm very very similar to my brother Ryan Clark from the standpoint that I believe America is the land of Second Chances I'm usually of the mindset that everybody deserves Second Chances not rapist not murderers not pedophiles but for the most part I'm good with Second Chances the problem is that doesn't apply here with sha P Diddy comes because you see the Second Chance is if you had come out immediately acknowledging that you were wrong once the accusations were first levied against you instead of excoriating those who were throwing the allegations out against you like Cassie Ventura the fact that there's a quote from just this past December with you emphatically adamantly categorically denying there was any truth to what was being said throws that second chance right out the window I don't enjoy saying this I've met P Diddy a few times over the years always cool with me that apology was [ __ ] it was embarrassing I don't know who told told him who thought for a second that it would worth 50 Cent was on his Instagram page just go look at it saying the same thing who advised them to do this this is bad this ain't going to work because it comes across as inauthentic because there's literally proof via a quote from you denying everything everything and accusing you're Accuser years of looking for a Payday there's so many questions that emanate from this you settled the case in a day that made you look guilty enough as it is one day one day after the allegation came out they must have told you about the video we still got questions about where the hell was the video all of these years who had it who ultimately released it there's also reports about being somebody being paid 50 $50,000 for p did he to get a hold of the tape well damn that's all you would think you'd have gave up 50 million to make sure that tape never got out and when we look at Ryan Clark I'm not going to call P Diddy a [ __ ] or any other name like that but I ain't G to stop anybody else from doing it I'm not going to malign them you don't hit women when you're a man you certainly don't kick him like you kicking the damn field goal you don't grab a vase and throw it at the head you don't drag them down public hallways that was 2016 there's been a bevy of allegations thrown against P Diddy in this complaint ladies and gentlemen there's a complaint file United States District Court southern district of New York plaintiff Cassie Ventura civil case 23- cv-1 z98 plff Cassie Venturi ver Ventura versus Sean Colmes Bad Boy Entertainment Bad Boy Records Epic Records Colmes Enterprises LLC and do Corps among other violent and unlawful acts in the complaint against sha P didy combes raped Mrs Ventura Miss Ventura in her own home after she tried to leave him often punched beat kicked and stomped on Miss Ventura resulting in bruises burst lips black eyes and bleeding blew up a man's car after he learned that he was romantically interested in Miss Ventura forced Miss Ventura to engage in sex acts with male sex workers while masturbating and filming the encounters ran out of his apartment with a firearm and pursuit of a rival industry executive whom he learned was nearby demanded that Miss Ventura to carry his firearm in her purse just to make her uncomfortable and demonstrate how dangerous he is and introduced Miss Ventura to a lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse and required her to procure elicit prescriptions to satisfy his own addictions I am not speculating I am reading from the report you were [ __ ] up in 2016 there's been people that's been talking about P Diddy's Behavior since that time 17 18 19 20 21 22 20 23 in 2023 knowing this had happened in 2016 you categorically denied it and tried to throw her to the Wolves when you apologize you never mentioned her name you never said I'm sorry to Cassie ventur you never said that you did her wrong I have been in multiple locations over the last several hours running across countless females I have not found one not one everybody's talking about it but I haven't found one female that considered the apology authentic remotely sufficing in any way sincere genuine or anything like that and now everything think is coming to play you got people asking about biggie now what happened Tupac and what happened you got people wondering about every single artist and anybody in the hip-hop industry that's in his presence or has been in his presence what were they doing what did they see and in the case of Cassie Ventura you know what really really resonates more than anything else before the video came out what she uttered had transpired to her and against her was verbatim correct every word she said was correct so guess who has the credibility now and guess who's missing it now I said Friday that P Diddy's career is over we've seen a lot of things things happen in the hip-hop world in hip-hop industry we've seen people overcome a lot of different things this is a new day on video and we keep acting like video doesn't matter ladies and gentlemen get over it please if a picture is worth a thousand words what the hell you think a video is worth we want to say it doesn't matter or it shouldn't matter and perhaps that is the truth but damn it it does let's not think about Utopia let's think about reality reality is no matter how much you read no matter how much you hear no matter how much rumors and allegations and accusations are thrown out there video matters that video will never go away CNN has it now and CNN made sure the world has it am I right Brandon 100% am I right gay Y video matters video matters hearing somebody get their ass kicked is different than seeing one and I was alluding to boxing which is what I'm about to get into later on in the show I'm not talking about a woman that's lying on the ground defensless curved up in a ball praying that you don't beat her up and she was laying on the ground because you yanked her by the neck and threw her down and then after that you hit her and then after that you kicked her like you were an NFL player field goal field goal kicker kicking the field goal and then after that you dragged her down the hallway was P did he [ __ ] up to use his words yeah because one would surmise somebody first of all nobody nobody should be doing something like that but if you were to do something like that to do it in a public hotel hallway and I think that could come back to bite you maybe you were [ __ ] up but you know something we could speculate about that part you know what we can't speculate about he deserved to get [ __ ] up excuse my language any man that has sisters that has daughters that has a loving mama and see something like that all you thinking about when you saw Cassie ventur is like where's the men in her in her life where's the where's the brother where where's the dad because most dudes and we don't Advocate violence on this show but I got to confess if somebody would to do something like that to my daughter my sister gay and Brandy is it's sayfe I don't need to say what what what what I would be looking to do I mean damn Diddy won't recover from this and in his case remember it ain't about the money cuz he has enough what party you going to see him at what event you going to see him at what key to the city you think he's going to get the one that mayor Eric Adams New York gave them last year what key to the city you going to get what bell you going to ring at the New York Stock Exchange all of that's come to an end and you know this ain't the last we've heard of accusations like this right you know this is going to provoke others to come out of the woodwork and talk about what he's been doing it's bad y'all it's bad I'm not moving on when I tackle this next subject but it's going to seem like it to some degree because I'm transitioning a pro golfer Scotty Sheffer prior to the start of the second round of the PGA Championship this past weekend a spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed the ESPN just this past Saturday that the officer who arrested the world's number one golfer early Friday didn't have his body cam video recorded activated during the incident ladies and gentlemen here's why I'm bringing this up one of the things that pissed me off over the weekend was folks in the black community complaining about the fact that the video for P Diddy was seen but we never see video of white folks being seen I get pissed off with stuff like that because I want accusations of racism to count coming to the defense of P Diddy in terms of the video being shown is not the way to go hell with that it's not the way to go but I want to say this when I heard that the body cam wasn't on with the whole Scotty Sheffer situation and that that footage that you saw was from a distant or was from a cell phone of a Jeff Darlington for ESPN and there's some other camera for some street light across the street or whatever the I don't want to hear that see White America this is what we have to understand and I want to make sure I'm clear with this there's plenty of videos out there incriminating white folks too so black folks who are saying there's never any videos no body cams incriminating white folks that's that's not accurate that's false there's plenty of videos of white folks being incriminated too but I want to say this a mistake like that can't happen that's not a mistake in our eyes that's intentional nobody believes that you conveniently forgot to turn on your body cam when you're arresting the number one golfer in the world nobody believes that there was an accident somebody died The Pedestrian died get hit by a shuttle bus traffic was jam-packed WEA was bad Anything could happen you're not going to have your body cam on nobody's believing that nobody's believing that and even though it may not be completely accurate you give Black America C to PS when the number one golf in the world who happens to be who happens to be white and gets arrested the only footage that we've seen that's reliable is from a report for ESPN who shefer was asking can you help me I know because I interviewed the reporter the de morning it happened you can't do that Tiger Woods was stopped by police officers he was inebriated he was drugged up on the pain medication or whatever it was you had video of that how come you don't have video of Scotty Sheffer we don't want to hear that we don't want to hear that stop letting stuff like that happen you going to consistently have video incriminating black people consistently have video incriminating white people Am I Wrong Brandon you all I'm saying I'm not trying to sit up there and say in any way not trying to imply this was some racial incident or anything like that I'm saying to cynics who are quick to lean on Race you give them fodder when you let stuff like that happen where's the damn video we know he wasn't committing a crime we know he was going into Valhalla we know he's the number one golfer in the world for 87 weeks we know he we know he wasn't robbing somebody we know that but something that innocuous that harmless the only incriminating element that could possibly exist is him dragging the police officer in the car when the police officer was telling him to stop and he went about 15 to 20 ft but for conveniently there's no footage of that none [Music] n that has to stop where's the damn video where's the damn video where's the damn video find it if not from the body cam to camera across the street get it because if it was Tiger Woods you'd have it if it was Tiger Woods you know good and damn well you'd have it it's all I'm towns and them give you a shout out the birthday boy after they closed the deal and one gab7 in Denver the franchise you starred for for years the big ticket himself that was you and these brothers more than two decades later made sure to shout you out and give you some love talk about that for a second man the homage man the young boys paying homage man I I have not been in the building just because I feel like if I haven't been there all year then I don't just want to just you know these kids are actually created with the with the help of Mark and A-Rod you know with the management and their ownership group changing the vibe of Minnesota changing the The Narrative going out taking risk uh risk when it came to the free agent Market know people did not like the Rudy Gober when it first started they did see the dynamic the league was you know really locked into the uh the the high paced uh Golden State kind of style and then all of a sudden you start seeing the rebirth of the big man and the big man is back in the conversation the big man is back you know dominating the game and obviously that's that's led by embiid and uh Joker right and uh now you got this new energy in the league where you got these host of stars that are in New York that are in OKC that are in Houston that are in Minnesota that are in Memphis and yeah we are seeing a new and a Changing of the Guard man it it was it was the best one of the best birthday gifts I've got in a long time shout to the young fellas and they're doing it and yeah man we we're all on text I text them boys I give them some advice we're sharing information we're going back and forth it's beautiful I'm H I'm happy for those guys man they they've actually they're doing it they're not just talking they're doing kg these brothers love you man I was I in Minnesota weeks ago man I had to we had an all access day for ESPN and I was there and you walk through the building Ant-Man cat all of these cats I mean they reveal a I'm a businessman I am a father um you know by every days or not to condu them to where I can just go and up and leave for three or four days like I really want to right right I got responsibilities and stuff but you know I I'm I'm AOC I'm locked in I watch from I watch from my my my my man cave and I and I check the games out and I'm locked in I'm watching all the matchups I'm I'm super locked in on what's going on and I love all the games all these games we've been watching have been unbelievable and they've been play at the top tier man shout out to New York man New York fought like dogs man jayen big body Brunson man he led that team man shout out to the Knicks man for making an unbelievable run shout out to the Pacers for playing ball and going into that hostile environment of a jungle they call Madison Square Garden and pulling a win out even though the Knicks were depleted depleted depleted um man I just I'm just I'm just enjoying all of it man shout out to Denver they had a great run you know Stephen I want to throw something at you man a lot of times I saw this personally with myself actually when um I was able to be in a very very rare situation with the Boston Celtics and we won our first championship right right and then the next summer man I saw Danny agent management kind of cut back and when they cut back I don't really think that um they thought about what really got us here and it was because of the longevity but it was because of the the volume of diversity we had we had posy we had we had we had Tony Allen we had big baby we had we had all these different pieces that you can play when I watched Denver one of the things I thought coming back this year man without having Bruce Brown and Uncle Jeff some Jeff Green and and and and DeAndre Jordan didn't even really get into rotation this year that to me along with the kid Brown from Kansas yeah that four five with regie Jackson man it was no better bench than that it was no better second group that you can throw in there when your stars didn't have it and they can actually C some momentum they play defense right listen when I when they when they didn't resign Brown and Uncle Jeff and Jeff Green man I was really worried about them being able to repeat because it's a different Dynamic and that's a different without those I'm G to say this to you right here over these Airways and you and I never had a conversation about this I'm letting you know how I feel about this for the first time I've never liked I don't dislike him because I don't know him but I never really liked Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor because I felt like you were somebody that should have been in the OWN ownership conversation I thought that what you did for that franchise what you meant to that franchise he was a person that should have came to you and said what can I do to keep you as a part of this organization forever because you were that synonymous with that franchise and many times you could have demanded to be traded you could have wanted out and you never did that and I always appreciated you for that and the reason why I bring that up is because what you just brought up you talked about what's the change why Denver did what it's doing why Denver did what it did why Boston did what it did yesterday I'm tell you why they doing this I believe you got this age analytics and you got all of these geek freaks right they know numbers I'm not knocking them I understand there's a place for it even Pat Riley was exercising analytics in the 90s people don't realize that here's the thing kg the owners understand numbers more than they understand basketball and if you got a cat that's coming to them with numbers and the owner can dissect that it makes the owner to feel like he's more knowledgeable about the basketball product because they're telling them you don't really need to know basketball you need to know these numbers and as a result that's who they hire because that's who they comfortable with and people like you and others who deserve consideration who deserve to be a part of building a basketball culture get thrown by the wayside that is what has happened to the game of basketball it's affected basketball culture it's affected divers diversity in the league as far as I'm concerned in the up in the higher ranks I'm disgusted by what I'm seeing but I know where it emanates from and it ain't going to get better it's only going to get worse because there's more money coming in which means it's more numbers and you literally got cats that are losing games and will walk up to an owner and go like this we actually won look at the numbers look at the analytics see it shows that we actually won this is what they're saying to some of these owners and they're getting away with it because are being cashed that's my answer to your question bro what do you think about it man I'll be honest man the perception of the owner and how he sees a player Mark Mark cubin he sees Dirk I see Dirk at games I see Dirk you know involved in you know you know everyday operations you know so so I see that some owners see some players as partners not as higher Talent right so with Glen Taylor's case you know I've never I've never uh never messed that up I've never uh not under not understood where he's come from I know he's an ex politician and that speaks for itself right and he play those games and he's on boards and he's he knows how to leverage himself and he's a very smart man he's been around a very long time so with that said I knew exactly what I was dealing with um because one person shows you his character doesn't necessarily mean that you need to revert and be what he is right know I'm say AB rest inace to my dog Flip Saunders he's he's no he's not here with this anymore but he had a vision and that Vision was the reason I came back to Minnesota so you know I'm listen good comes to good and I'm a very patient person there you go and and I like to think that when you when you in business with people you want to be in bed and being be in bed with with people that actually see the same vision as you with Mark and uh A-Rod they have a very similar uh Vision you know A-Rod plays so that helps so you don't have all this numbers and all this mechanical you know all this mechanical uh mechanisms that come analytics analytics have messed up the game I and parts have helped it but when you talking about heartbeat when you talk about grit when you talk about patience when you talk about presence Anthony you can't measure him on pres you can't it's not it's not a machine that can measure presence you understand so you know I think that analytics have plays a part in this but not in the parts where you're talking about flow and you talking about momentum chemistry camaraderie leaders you know what I'm saying presence because you got to have that and if you don't have no young boy with a presence and a closer like a John Moran or Anthony Edwards or Jaylen green if you don't have one of these young boys or or Shay gilis you're not built for the future and I tell you this listen I told I remember I was telling Philadelphia 76 for years because you know how connected I am to the city of Philadelphia because I cover the 76ers for so many years I said one of the biggest mistakes y'all make don't tell me that AI Allen Iverson can't spot a dog when he see one don't tell me that brother ain't going to see somebody go like this that brother got hot he ain't going to quit on you he going to be ready bam don't tell me he can't point that out that he can't make a contribution to basketball operations don't tell me that kg can't sit up and look at a cat go like this I don't know if he meant for this culture this city what it what it demands what it requires I don't know if he's made of that IL Anthony Edwards let's get to him and let's get to some of these playoffs this brother when I say I'm not talking Jordan Kobe like that like he there yet but what I'm saying is when they were his age that's how he that's how they looked and you see the heart and you see the closing capability you see his athleticism you see his willingness to take the big shot you see him accepting defensive assignments and making a difference kg this brother to me is already the new face of the NBA to that you say what I say Anthony Edwards everything about him is unique when I make the when I make the comparison to the 84 Jordan if you go back and watch how young Mike matter of fact go back that summer and watch him in the Olympic trials with Bobby Knight he was just evolving into this next type of player you know when you watched Michael at North Carolina he ran offense he didn't do anything outside of that offense you know Dean Smith had him in the Box every now and then when he had a a breakaway dunk he' get fancy and we got to see some creativity there you go back and watch Anthony Edwards in college you know he ran a system he ran it well you know he took chances when he got into the league he started to evolve into something else we knew that he was explosive we knew he had charismatic personality but you can see the evolution of this kid growing he gets with Pat be with some dogs and Vander and all those guys and they start and he starts taking on that and then after a while you start hearing like know the team starts to take on the personality and I give car Anthony towns a lot of credit he understands that an is this great great of a presence and he's allowed him to leave and they're leading together it's no it's no [ __ ] it's none of that kg and Steph [ __ ] it ain't none of that it ain't none of that you understand that's what I love about this that's what I love about this team these boys [ __ ] with each other they they they they're all on the same page McDaniel walker uh Conley uh you Rudy I mean I love in slow-mo I love Nas Reed I love this team's makeup and it's all because of their it's all because of their their leader they've taken on the attitude and the presence of their leader he's a closer and he he he has a great personality he talks his talk he walks his walk though and they're confident and if you know going into this Mavericks series I feel like this is GNA be their biggest test I know you had the Champions and you had to dethrown the Champions but right when it comes to Talent on Talent Kyrie and LCA Anthony Edwards have not seen anything like Kyrie I get it right listen real [ __ ] I'm just being honest here this is just my opinion Luca can beat you Luca can beat you Kyrie can beat you Kyrie is a champion right he's been in these situations and you know what unfed unfaced I mean I'm looking at Kyrie right now and I'll get into him in a second because I gotta I got I gotta stay I gotta stay with Kyrie for just a second but I want to ask this before I get to Kyrie Irving game two of Denver Minnesota first half game seven second quarter into the really third quarter in the fourth quarter I don't think I've seen defense like that in the last 30 years I ain't SE I ain't seen nobody that play defense like that goddamn Jackal man they look like Wars for real they look like w they look like Wars yes they look like they look like real wars I saw uh McDaniel get over the pick get over the pick and it was a switching Walker he switching switching listen if anybody got the guard play to play the Dallas Mavericks it's the Minnesota timber Wars and their nation is and how they see defense bro I ain't seen but but but but I need I need confirmation for my audience so they know I ain't engaging an hyperbole I ain't seen defense play like that in 30 years am I lying it's been a minute it's been a minute I'm talk about listen I'm talking about feet moving know the assignments know the swits group like listen man the mines Timber was what they did in that Denver series was impeccable you got to understand you know you mess up against a champ bro the Champs make you pay for that you know what I'm saying they was locked in shout to them man and they're gonna need all of it because these two this two-headed monster is real this is now let me transition I'm a fair-minded dude Kyrie I've been on him in the past you ain't hear me utter a negative syllable about him this year all I ever wanted was this brother on the court so people could see the greatness cuz I know how spectacular he is but he even shocked me this year because I'm watching him in the playoffs KJ he's going like this here PJ Washington here Derek Jones Luca do what you got to do oh oh oh you need me now I okay give it to me I got it I mean he he doing what he wants to do and I'm looking at him and defensively you got he's holding to 30 35% shooting I'm looking at him kg I'm like this this brother on another level man and he's a champion who can score at will and and here's the thing kg this is ESP has got the Easter Conference and I'm damn near depressed I'm looking forward to it because Indiana but I'm also depressed because kg yo Anthony Edwards the Antman goes out there he like yo Kyrie you next I got Kyrie and I'm like this what he said of all people to call out Antman said I got Kyrie next Lord have mercy it's gonna be S special kg your thoughts it's gonna be S special I respect it though I respect it he a ducking none of he knows that the the road to the finals you got it's the Mavericks and they're they're in the way and it's and it's you know he's looking at who he's gonna probably have to be matched up with and it's probably most likely gonna be you know Kyrie Kyrie I like how he actually takes accountability for both sides of the ball I will say that he's not just a explosive offensive player that's growing right before our eyes I think he's growing also on the defensive end I think the Steals and how he took the challenge against Murray and was able to get some Steals and stuff against Murray but I'm gonna be honest I think Murray is one of our upand cominging young players who established himself and he's in the league we we have a lot of respect for him but Kyrie is another level of offense and another level of knowledge another level of of one-on-one yeah you know you know walks around with the K spirit I don't know if you feel that yes you know I know exactly what you're talking about yeah you got a lot of you know if you know what you're looking at you know what you're looking for you'll see a lot of being a lot of being in Kyrie right now he's calm he's confident he's leading he ain't got a bunch of extra stuff with him he's been about basketball I love his piece I see him walk around I'm proud of him man I'm proud of Kyrie bro Evolution bro like growth people think that yeah you know everybody grew up in you know what Stephen A was perfect when he came from Kevin was like man we all are human and we all go through a process in which we all got to go through a growth and now we're seeing you know a more uh mature Kyrie that is that is electrifying bro he's been doing this since Ramadan I don't know if you've been watching I've been watching Ramadan he when he was out there balling and wasn't eating or drinking anything all day Ramadan Kyrie was a [ __ ] you hear me we didn't even talk about I mean I'm just looking at him right now the man was spectacular no question about it but I'm looking at him now and that piece that you talking about yo Luca is the star but Kyrie is a star and he's the leader he's the god everybody like relax I mean it it's okay don't a worry about it we got this and that's how I'm looking at him and I'm like Ant-Man said I'm guarding him next age 22 if Ant-Man pulls this off kg what does that mean for his career if he goes through Kyrie and Luca to get to the finals I mean it's it's it's only right uh you got to win it though y you know winning half of it and getting there uh winning the western conference is a big part of it but you got to win it but on the road and where he's going um yeah man it's no there's no stopping him I feel like he's been the alpha of every series that he's been in and I don't know if I don't know if Ant-Man can out alha Luca right and you know what I'm saying but listen he has the energy man listen I have never I haven't seen a kid with this much confidence since LeBron D way Melo I and this kid got a lot of confidence I'm J like man like KJ I'mma ask you a question I'mma ask you a question that's gonna hurt your feelings I know it's gonna hurt you I know it's you're gonna grab your heart when I ask you this question don't ask crazy no no no Ain nothing crazy you had Stefon marber as a teammate you had Paul Pierce as a teammate you had Ray Allen as a teammate you had Rondo as a teammate if kg had Anthony Edwards in kg's Prime paint that picture for me yeah that's that's crazy I mean everybody you just named because Steph was a bad [ __ ] when he Steph was and then Steph and I was real friends so we had a great dnamic so I didn't have to I can talk telepathy and all this so our Dynamic different um I played with Paul Pierce is probably one of the best scores I've ever been around and um man I mean it's another real friend you know what I'm saying Ray Allen another real friend right believable shooter right Rondo uh obviously we have a friendship now yeah I don't think I had an explosive player like yeah like I'm thinking about who I play with uh spre in his better days you know obviously I played spr he was a little more a little more older and stuff but man nobody that can looks like they getting shot out of a gun or looking like they firing out of a cannon or something like oh when I made the 84 uh analogy it was about how he was attacking the basket Mike Jordan his rookie year no one tacked the basket like more than he did you understand and you know teams was giving him that shot so he was taking up so when I the dunk that he did on Collins in Utah oh yes Lord oh yes Lord I mean I mean oh oh my Lord people don't even people don't evening they think Vince Carter dunk over Frederick Weiss in the Olympics they don't what about what about what about that dunk on College what about Jordan's dunk on damn eating in Utah what about that one Yan Baseline you understand you didn't have to bring up y you didn't have to bring up yuan in the That's a classic shout to Big you you know what I'm saying but I say this man if I played with Anthony Edwards man that would be tack it to be a ball of fire right CU I Antman seen them that that practice and actually win game like I did way is a is a very solid solid team I don't know if you seen nothing like you ain't seen nothing like this before I transition to the east real quick I'll let you get on out of here because thank you for your time I know you busy you brought you you brought up you brought up I brought up Steph you brought up Steph recently when Steph was telling his story about why he left Minnesota cuz it really with the cold weather it's cold weather I ain't going to lie to you kg I was I was empathetic I was I was sympathetic to Steph to Steph on Marberry because let me tell you something bro I was out in Minnesota in that damn cold I Ain I ain't exp no cold like that in my life I ain't no cold like that in my life that's hard Sunshine con Isen all sunshine and and in Miami Vibes now like come on you know how cold it is in the Twin City stop acting like you don't know what what how do you do morph he just come out and just like Yeah I wanted my own team yeah it was cool playing with K but yeah I want a biger Bigg and better things and now and and then this can all be over want to hear that [ __ ] about it was cold and this about he didn't he he wasn't getting 126 and that was the issue so he's like [ __ ] it I'm out so you know so you believe that's what it is you don't you don't believe he's telling the truth about the cold weather I'm not asking anybody anything that's what it was but you know shout to Steph what he doing man Kudos is moving on other things say not that that's fine with me let's move on to Boston with his family you know Don and Eric and you know Zach the Marberry family good people man they good people I I knew them growing up and whatever covering them because I was a high school reporter for the New York daily news when he was a when he's a superstar high school player but I'll move on from that Boston I this to say I seen him at the Knicks game I think it's dope he re back with the Knicks I see what the Knicks doing with the ambassadorship having all the players role that is dope I think the listen I think the league should have top 75 seats in the building they should have four of them and if you got a top 75 that's in your building they can sit in those two seats I agree with that I didn't think about that but totally agree with that Dolan Dolan was considered the worst owner in the league look what he's did yeah shout out to Dolan for doing that man [ __ ] we beat up all other things but listen man and the Knicks gonna be a problem next year I'm just gonna say this listen listen banovic and all in all of the bovic Mitchell Robinson Julius Randle A og no Josh Hart Dante de chenzo with Brunson yes speak that Nicks I got listen I'm Celtics till out D in this mod you feel me but man the Knicks should look very very good next year I got I got man they're gonna be one of my teams on the list to just keep out for man they they got it they got a lot of parts big body Brunson you know him I'm eager to see him and Randall together Josh Hart showed us some unbelievable like oh man come on man like I'm looking forward to this Knicks team next year I hope I hope Health man I hope everybody does what they have to do over this summer get healthy and come do you believe that the new York Knicks need a number one option to go along with Brunson in order to come out of the East next year what is what is Randle man julus Randle is a 25- 10 guy in this I love Randle but he ain't the number one option though I love Randle He Ain't a number one option J kg you tripping and he grew his game listen man and he grew his game with the three ball man y'all tripping on Julius Rand Julius Ram is one of the harder guards in this m ain't he left-handed he got a three ball he can play make man I mean I mean he ain't perfect right but man with this team cuz you know what happens when you bring in a superstar you bring somebody else it's you got that Superstar you gotta you gotta intertwine him in with the fabric of what the Knicks are the Nicks are gritty and they gruty they play for 408 they in your you know they they tips if you can't fit that bro a lot of superstars ain't that these days bro they ain't fitting in that's what I'm saying ick man the Knicks are perfect the Knicks should not be touched let's go let's run this let's run this two years with this team and then talk about that Superstar [ __ ] lat I just thought about something and I I'm glad you brought this up tibs I'm one of those people in the past yo he's a great coach but he will grind you grind you grind you say I don't want to hear that this year I don't want to hear that this year it ain't his fault and he ain't he ain't give you no damn rest we know he old school but I tell you this I don't want Tims to go away I thought that I would want some body like tou cuz I got love for tou and I thought player you know Player Development whatever hell with all that tibs is my guy I will ask you this I will say this to you tibs has been taking heat because he that old school cat that will grind you grind you gr how have you felt about that about your former assistant who was your defensive coordinator essentially when y'all won the title in ' 08 how do you feel about what you've heard about tips so you know I asked you know my show um KJ CH if I ask this question man you know Stephen A we're watching so much of transition from players to player right we watching Braun watching Katie watching Steph everybody's you know coming down the line is you know but we see the emergence of all these other great Stars right and his beautiful talent I really think is parallel with the coaching Co like a lot of the a lot of the Old School coaches are going to have to start taking in consideration of this new style this new ways of doing things my only knock on it's just that bro Josh Hart played three games bro he can't get 10 minutes he can't get five yeah you know what you know Stephen A just like somebody come up to you right now Hey Stephen A we need you to jump on Tik Tok and do a dance for 15 seconds and then you got end it with you gotta do all you gild joint youon be looking like it's the new wave and if you gonna tap into some of this new wave you're gonna have to tap in with it and goes for coaches that goes for GMS that goes for ownership right I mean look at Phoenix Phoenix tried to think that they was going to put it together no man no you can't you can't cheat winning can't cheat culture you can't shortcut it none of that I love tips because he's built for what New York is and by the way this is tb's Magic job this is tb's Lifetime job to listen he only did the the Celtics the Bulls and Minnesota to get here right he listen TS with will probably do the Nick's job for free yeah real he is a Nick at heart he is Jeff listen he is Van Gundy he is from the rals he is old school soldier General yes sir yes sir so I don't have a problem with tibs tibs Al also is a great coach in understanding the culture and making those changes so I think tibs can actually make some of these changes that we're talking about Stephen A and I think that he is the coach that you won't Co this team with these players on here you see big body Brunson you see how how he just Tres that you know a lot of that is just jayen figuring it out and then play three Da Vinci you know you got I love OG over there man don't hold KJ kg kg big body Brunson you give that you give that nickname to to to perk or did perk big perk Kendrick perk is your former teammate give it to you who gave big br Bron who gave that nickname you a big perk per that's how perk work good shout to Big perk sh I see what you doing big fella you look great keep going big perk know what he was doing with all that Nick [ __ ] on I yeah he sold out he you know what happened right you want me to tell you what happened you want me to tell you what happen see go we know how this go we g go in the back go in the back we gonna get some understanding with you know what happened I'm I'm I'mma dime him out you know what happened right Tracy Morgan sent sent them to Phantom sent them to Phantom F to pick him up and brought him to nck game so big perk was in the Phantom you know big perk bont Texas curtes the NBA the whole nine he go to the knck game earlier this week you understand just forgot he a Celtic for 48 minutes you know what I'm saying went to the game with Tracy Morgan in the F then comes back goes on TV and then go from TV kg and gets Hall of Fame induction into the Texas high school hall of fame and had yo had had had the wife there with him and the kids you know the kids look nice family and a whole bit but the wife as you well know fine as hell I said perk over chees what the hell perk I got I said H would you the wife was sitting up there flossing looking great I said big per big perk flossed your boy was flossed bro he was flossed shout out to Van van make the family go she made the family look good and all that she keep them boys in line and all that that's what's up shout out to the Perkins Family shout out to perk doing his thing I got to give credit what's credit is do perk came up with big body Brunson so yeah it's only right and you know what if Tracy Morgan had him and hosted him to the Nick game then listen it's no better way he had to do that so shout to Tracy Morgan and all that last question last question big perk's been on the record I've been on the record my man Shannon Sharp's been on the record most people have been on the record if the Boston Celtics led by jayen Brown over $300 million player Jason Tatum soon to be over a $350 million player in their like fifth or sixth Conference Finals plus the NBA Finals W NBA Finals a couple years ago if they don't win this year it will be an epic failure what does Kevin Garnett the big ticket kg the champion with the Celtics the Hall of Famer what does he have to say about Boston and how they got to win this year I actually think the Celtics are built for the future they are built for the next three to four years real [ __ ] like all the pieces they got they can actually Stephen A they have the potential to where I feel like they can actually go one two three they they they they have it they have what you have now with the LeBron's and and and the KDs starting to transition out where those type of players can come into the series and dominate the series I thought that Steph Curry outfit that series when they played Golden State a couple years ago but they learned from that and and when I look at all the young teams in the league no one has this body of experience from their young guys like this Boston Team B listen it's Boston's to lose it's the Celtics to lose that's it they you know when you look at how uh everybody is having to get to where they at they've had the more simple way of getting there not saying it hasn't been compelling not saying it hasn't been challenging they still got to go out and beat teams the teams they're beating were beat were good teams but yeah man Indiana is going to test them this is going to be a real test for because Indiana is not known for defense but they can put points up better than anybody up on true in the league and it's gonna take the Celtics to tap into their defensive side along with their offensive side but these next two to three even four years to me man this the season to lose man very last very last question to you if Boston ends up facing the Timberwolves for the championship what's that going to be like for you KJ and that's a win-win for me I win both ways you understand I win win win win you understand I already got it teed up you hear what I'm saying to you these you pull it up you pull it up I'm putting it together I'm already locked and loaded listen listen this is this is this is The Ultimate Gift right here if Boston and Minnesota makes it to the finals I know I've won period and I'm the chairman of the boards of the 50-50 Club nobody else can do this but you understand what I'm saying I'm not also a I'm also a [Laughter] client oh that's Smo bro that's smooth now you know you gonna have to go to both you know you G have to go to both Arenas right you can't go to one or the other I got look I got I got I got cribs on both blocks I got work on both blocks I'm good I'm good in both cities I'm great not even tripping I got I got seats in both Arenas yeah it's it's listen it's all good and that's my wish if the good Lord can hear me if the good Lord Jehovah God can hear me right now if I had any wi in the world other than billion Stevie Wonder to the finals can you if you hear me Lord if you hear I got I gotta fly to LA tonight I got to do NBA Countdown from La the rest of the week on my off day I I I'm thinking I might have to get to Minnesota for I got see at least one game with Kyrie and Ant-Man up against each other in person I I I I got to do it I just got to do it that's a good look and the city gonna be rocking what listen they gonna do this bro this and I think this series gonna go seven man LCA looks beat up um you know the one thing you gotta remember about Luca dun man is is that he's been in another league and he's carried that League since he was a young boy he's won it as a young boy so he's won it ain't you know the parodies are very similar to you know you win it because you got to go through everybody's best and the best at the end wins right so he understands and he has that presence to be cool and calm in those moments when you need cool and calm so man this is going to be probably the biggest test obviously the the Nuggets was one thing but the two-headed monster right here with confidence coming into this it's gonna be the biggest test of the Tim Wars you ain't far from where I'm coming to man I at some point I got to get I got to get to kg certified again we got to watch the game together I got to get on out of here but we I got to get there to see we got to watch the game together soon let's get it man you already know what it is man enjoy your day holl at me when you when you touch down and you know what it is all right baby appreciate you man all love baby talk to you later one of the only kg in the house right here on the Sten A Smith show boy I love talking to that brother I swear I do up next you heard me talking about P Diddy but I don't know much about that world compared to my next guest she is an entertainment reporter extraordinaire hip Hollywood as well as KTLA in Los Angeles California she is the one and only Jasmine Simpkins who interviewed Cassie Ventura just days after the incident that you saw between her and P Diddy obviously she has a lot to say a lot that most of us don't even know but we're about to find out Jasmine Simpkins up next with yours truly back with more in a minute I want to talk more about the CNN exclusive video of sha P Diddy Colmes assaulting his then girlfriend Cassie Ventura back in 2016 it happened in Los Angeles just days before the premiere of her film the perfect match joining me now is an Emmy nominated entertainment reporter for hip Hollywood in KTLA who spoke to Cassie just days after the assault please welcome the one and only Jasmine Simpkins Jasmine how are you how's everything I'm good Stephen A how are you thank you so much for joining me particularly at this hurried late notice thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule all right listen on the hip Hollywood site you did some reporting on Cassie during the premiere of her film the perfect match back in 2016 I want to play a portion of that for our audience and then we'll get into the conversation all right I want you to watch here here you go there's this people everywhere everywhere everywhere hip Hollywood was on hand for the March 7th Premiere also attended by Diddy's ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and captured this footage of she and col smiling for the cameras on the red carpet we also spoke to Cassie about her role in shooting intimate scenes with her co-star Terence Jay you know we're friends at the end of the day and that is very awkward when you're just friends with somebody and you're not in love but um we're comfortable with each other so it was cool just days earlier on March 5th 2016 security video obtained by CNN appears to show com's assaulting Cassie in the hallway of the Intercontinental Hotel the video captures multiple angles and shows com's running down the hallway in a white towel before hitting kicking and dragging her out of the frame Cassie also detailed the physical abuse she endured during her relationship with Combs and a federal lawsuit filed in November in the since settled suit she also recounts an instance in March 2016 where Combs became quote extremely intoxicated and punched Miss ventur in the face giving her a black eye on March 4th 2016 just one day prior Cassie spoke to hip Hollywood about her role in the film the perfect match and appeared excited about this new chapter in her professional life all while masking a dark secret in her personal one was there any indication when you were doing the interview that something wasn't right absolutely not we I had just talked to her on March 4th so the day before the alleged assault happened in the hotel she was in great spirits talking about this new movie that she was doing putting out music possibly if you remember too bad boy the reunion tour had just been announced there was a lot of good things going on in her life so she seem so happy so just days later on the carpet I don't think any of us knew that this was happening behind the scenes with her and Diddy and she gave zero indication I mean she was bubbly and excited and talkative and happy I think I really want to express is she was very happy and I think that that's what victims can look like as well right like they don't have to be sad or have a demeanor that would mean that something's going on I feel like she masked it very well you saw no marks no bruises on her whatsoever you didn't see any of that I didn't see anything I will say that I pointed out because again I had just seen her days before it looked like she had just come from vacation so I was like oh you're so bronze like you look so you know you got this glow going on like she had this body Shimmer going on so I did notice that and I made mention of it at the top of the interview and she was like yeah that's just kind of what we're going for tonight or something she said what was the interaction between her and Diddy like so they got to the top of the carpet and I just remember they just took photos and then she proceeded down the carpet to do the interviews he stayed at the top and kind of just you know interacted with people as I mentioned in the vo JLo was there his ex she was there with her then ex-boyfriend Casper Smart um because he was one of the executive producers and had a small role Diddy and Casper interacted on the carpet I remember seeing that everybody was having a great time it was like a huge carpet it was so so many people Queen latifo was one of the executive producers um Billy woodriff was a director so I mean everybody was there who was anybody at this Premiere that evening so fast forward how surprised were you years later just recently when you saw these lawsuits being levied against uh P didy how surprised were they were you I will say I thought my antennas went off when he was on The Breakfast Club I believe that same year I mean just earlier this year last year he was on The Breakfast Club and he was you know announcing that he was giving publishing to all his artists giving you know finally they were going to get a Payday from all the music they had made and I thought why now what is what is the reason behind it you've not wanted to do this before and I just thought something was behind it I didn't think it was to this magnitude but it just m it gave me pause and then I saw auo day say Splat out that if you got your publishing you had to sign an NDA where you couldn't say anything bad disparaging remarks about bad boy Diddy so it just made sense when the lawsuit came out that he was it was really like hush money in a sense you know that's a very very good point because it makes a hell of a lot of sense no question about it um I want to know what you thought about I don't even want to call it an apology I don't know who the hell came up with that idea to for him to go on video for a little over a minute he never acknowledged Cassie venturo by name he never apologized to her at all he talked about he was in a really mess up Place etc etc but the level of Contrition or whatever clearly in a lot of people's eyes was more about getting caught than it was about what you had actually done and most importantly what really really rubbed me the wrong way is that you were on the record categorically denying any truth to the specific allegations that were levied against you so why in God's name would you try to come out and apologize thereafter when the very thing that you are apologizing for is what you emphatically and adamantly denied in terms of specifics I don't think anyone in his team advised him to do that I feel like it was a knee-jerk maybe something he decided to do singularly I cannot imagine that his attorney publicist anyone that is still working for him would have thought that that was a good idea to do that said I agree I just thought that it was just I don't even think he believed the words coming out of his mouth I didn't see any attachment to emotion he never mentioned her by name which I also thought was very peculiar and I thought that it also was strange that you had just said days ago that the truth would come to light and you know you're making all of these you know proclamations that you're innocent and now that the video's coming out out or the video's out now you're walking it back and you were in a dark place and you've gone to rehab and you're truly sorry yeah I'm not buying it and I don't think any of his fans are now remember there's noise about how a speculation that he may have paid $50,000 for the video um has anyone been able to find evidence of that at all I mean you cover you cover the Hip Hop industry better than most you've been on top of this story from day one have you seen any evidence or heard any evidence to that so where that's coming from is in her actual 50 plus page lawsuit she says that he paid $50,000 to obtain the footage so I think that's why it's all over the internet now because people are connecting the dots to what incident it was we didn't know at the time what she was referring to now it's like oh this must be the incident that she's referring to that he paid $50,000 but no but the hotel and the hotel by the way is no longer in existence in uh yeah in LA but no one has spoken you know out from the hotel or any anyone saying that it's true or not um so it's just in her it's just in her lawsuit and I'm saying to myself okay if you paid the $50,000 okay then that means you have had possession of the video so where did this video come from do we know have any idea any indication where this particular video came from this is just me I I feel like it either was the manifestation of the raid they found this at his home um and someone put it out there it's very telling that it went to CNN of all the of all the people who lately have been putting out news first I TMZ that it came from CNN um so that to me was telling that it was given to them specifically um that's just my journalistic hunch um but I feel like it it it it seems as though this might have been found at one of two of his one of the residences you mean when they raided his home Homeland Security raided his home in Los Angeles and Miami you think so in other words understand let's dissect that for a second understand what that would mean what that would mean is that you got a hold of the video and rather than destroyed it you kept it that doesn't seem to make and I want everyone to understand that this is just my theory yes I am not saying because I've already said to you that the hotel is no longer right there right right right yes so who else had a copy if you paid for it and there's a copy and let's let's just assume no other copies existed you paid where did it come from and why is it now on the internet for the world to see a after seeing what we saw you've got critics all over the country including myself that appalled by what we saw obviously uh you I I played earlier where my teammate my colleague at ESP and Ryan Clark on his podcast the pivot just went in on them and called them you know a few names that I'm not going to repeat right now uh a lot of people believe he should be arrested he should have been arrested um could you explain to people who don't understand why he hasn't been arrested so every state has a statute of limitations for assault and sexual assault um you know there's different levels for this particular crime the statue of limitations has already passed and so the Los Angeles Police Department did put out a statement explaining that and I think they also wanted people to understand that based on what they saw they would have started an investigation and arrested him probably immediately uh because a crime was committed based on what they saw but they cannot it is the statute of the limitation has passed so that being said the only he is now being tried in the court of public opinion uh he will not be tried in a criminal court for this particular instance now do I think other things may come to light yes um I do there's no question Homeland Security at your house for a reason there's no question Homeland Security remember if you remember this is the exact same chain of events that happened with R Kelly there was a RICO raid on his homes and next than we know there was an indictment and and he's in jail for 30 years minimum there there you have it I've said that there's no coming back from this if you P did it the fact that there's video out there which in my estimation was worse than the Ray Rice video from years ago former player with the in NFL's Baltimore Ravens I don't think this is worse than that you know to snatch her by the neck throw her to the ground kick her not once but twice throw a glass bars at her at her head drag her down the hallway there's no coming back from this you covered the hip-hop industry we've seen all types of stuff happen we've seen you know America be the land of Second Chances when it comes to folks in that industry and Beyond of course am I wrong in my assessment that I don't know if P Diddy can come back from this no you're not wrong in your assessment the allegations and the lawsuit was one whole thing that was already getting him cut from any deals he had and people were severing ties this video in my opinion is the nail in the coffin and we will not see him doing if he is still free to walk around he will not be working in the same capacity that he was if in any capacity um in Hollywood and in in the entertainment industry in the entertainment industry even in the hip-hop industry you got record companies that say hey man you can make some money so you go out there and make a record or whatever the no no you may not get any endorsement deals and stuff like that but you're saying even a record company even you know whether even if he owned his own label somehow some way still managed to do that and settling all of these lawsuits that seem to be coming down the pike I think we can predict more is coming no question about that you're trying to say even under those circumstances there's no way he's coming back from this Diddy's a mogal he has a lot of money so he can continue to do whatever he wants to In terms I mean we're in an indust in a time now where people can put out music on Spotify they can put it out however they want to independ L I think he can be an independent anything he wants to and he has enough money to fuel that but will he have the same Fanfare reception from people no his his image is tarnished his name has been sullied and his legacy I feel like has been forever ruined and there's no there's no going back have you do you know of have you seen anyone in the hip-hop industry that has gone near him since all of this stuff has come out I haven't seen anybody video TMZ did um share the day before the day after the the surveillance footage was released and it is uh I'm not sure where he is it looks like he's in Miami where he's been since the lawsuit in November he's walking down the street with two men one of them is groovy Lou who's one of his longtime friends um has worked for him for a long time and the other gentleman is a rapper named Los um who was a part of bad boy and was signed to his label at one point I would imagine that behind the scenes some of his friends like Stevie J who who came out and spoke out in support of him are still a part of his small circle but I don't necessarily think that some of the other friends he had in the industry are attaching themselves in the same way they had been and want to be publicly seen with him last question strictly from a PR perspective we know where Cassie Ventura stands and we understand that and Lord know she probably has more to say because she was with them for a while and so she clearly has more to say is there anybody else in your estimation that she that we should keep our eyes on that you believe is going to have a lot of things to say about P Diddy in a very unpopular in a very unpopular light moving forward so auo day who was a member of his group janed Kane has been vocal for a very very long time she she said a lot of the things that were already that she intimated that there was some abuse and some things happening behind the scenes a while ago and people just weren't willing to listen to her and didn't want to believe I think the things that she said I think now she's going to have an audience um and I think she's going to be talking more she's even said if you follow her on social media that she has so much that she's going to reveal and she didn't sign in NDA and she did not take her the publishing deal so wow she's not going to be restricted Jasmine really really appreciate your time thank you so much for being to Stephen A Smith show right here over the digital AWS of YouTube let me move on to the world of boxing real quick please Saturday night Ukrainian boxer Alexander became the world's first Undisputed heavyweight champion in 24 years after beating Tyson Fury via Split Decision this past weekend the fight took place in Saudi Arabia usk knocked Fury down in the ninth round really ount all of that stuff as opposed to really knocking him down but basically it was a knockout before eventually earning a narrow win on two scorecards usk added Fury's WBC title to his WBA ibf and we WBO belts see you can look at this right here he stunned Tyson Fury had him hurt had him wobbled all that stuff is true I thought it was low class for Tyson Fury to really really credit the war in Ukraine between Ukraine and Russia for the victory saying this country's at War and they're feeling sympathetic that's why they gave him the decision Tyson Fury is trying to say I really thought I deserved to win etc etc it was a close fight but that was clearly a 108 round and I had usyk winning by majority decision to myself here's where I'm annoyed I'm starting to really hate boxing as much as I love it I'm starting to really hate things about it I'm continuously missing out on the fights I want to see this is why the UFC is so popular with Dana White because he makes sure you get the fights that you want to see when the hell you want to see them case in point years ago Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua on a collision course everybody in their mother is looking forward to that fight what happens Anthony Joshua gets stopped by Andy Ruiz as a result he's got to give Andy Ruiz a rematch as a result Deontay Wilder ultimately gets into a Trilogy with Tyson Fury where he looks like a shell of himself now compared to what he looked like before he ever got to the ring with Tyson Fury three straight times this is the kind of stuff that pisses me off because now I'm missing out on a fight that I want to see what happened this weekend you got usyk getting ready to fight Tyson Fury fights him beats him we were all looking forward after watching Anthony Joshua destroy former UFC heavyweight champion Francis andano we're looking forward to Tyson Fury winning this fight Anthony Joshua winning an upcoming fight all of a sudden that would be a collision course two Brits fighting you understand in wimbley stadium a cross the ocean 90,000 100,000 people biggest heavyweight fight for the ages now that's on hold because usyk wins the fight and once again there's a fight that we miss out on this is the stuff that's driving me crazy about boxing Canelo Alvarez where's the fight against David benitz love Canelo I want to see him fight David benitz I don't want to see him fighting mongia I don't want to see him fighting an undersized Charlo I don't want to hear about Terrence Crawford moving up not one not two but three weight classes to fight sa Canelo Alvarez I want the fights that we want to see when we want to see him you're the super middleweight champion of the world at 168 pounds David benovitz is at 168 that's what I want to see you're the light heavyweight champion of the world and you really really consider yourself a light heavyweight champion no matter who you are I want to see you fighting better BF that's what I I want to see you're the lightweight champion of the world it's Devonte Davis you Devon Haney and you moving up to 140 if you going to fight Ryan Garcia make sure he fights at 140 not coming three pounds overweight undisciplined not meeting the weight limit and then all of a sudden there's no belt at stake and now we're hearing about ped use and how he curbed the rules and the regulations and he came in so much stronger blah blah blah come on y'all box and get it together I'm sick of this we want the fights we want to see when we want to see it and we want what's supposed to be on the line on the line Sugar Ray didn't do that with Hearns Hearns didn't do that with Haggler Hearns didn't do that with Roberto Durant and vice versa Aaron pry and Alexis aguo didn't do that to one another hell Ray Boom Boom manini didn't do that come on y'all Floyd Money Mayweather didn't do that Pacquiao didn't do that Bernard Hopkins didn't do that Oscar De La Hoya didn't do that phix Trinidad didn't do that can you give us the fights we want to see when we want to see him with the rules and regulations being followed so we know there's order and we're getting what we paay to see legitimately could you do that for us please pretty pleased with SH go on top I'd really appreciate it I swear I would have cussed but I got my girl Nelly in here watching me so I want to make sure I guard against all that okay cuz we don't want to turn people off with my filthy MTH even though we all know I'm going to be a little filthy from time to time anyway because it's just what I do let's go to the big screen to look at some of these tweets before I get on out of here for the day please at Lavar l v ahror right Stephen do you really think the Knicks will ever make it to the finals with Brunson as their best player no and I mean that respectfully Brunson was a superstar for the Knicks this year I love this brother respect him appreciate him he's big time but ultimately he's a six-foot Lefty the New York Knicks had a chance this year if everybody was healthy I believe if the New York Knicks were healthy with Brunson with Julius Randle with Mitchell Robinson with OG and the noi and the bo they could have got to the finals this year I don't know if that's going to be the case next year when jannis comes back healthy I don't know that's going to be the case next year if Miami comes back healthy I don't know if that's going to be the case next year if Boston adds another piece with porzingis and Tatum and brown and white and holiday and these boys I don't know I don't know I don't know I think the New York Knicks need a Bonafide number one dude that's about 66 or taller that's good for 25 a game that's a Bonafide number one option and another Center other than the clumsy Mitchell Robinson or The Limited Isaiah hardenstein I I think they need that I think they need that Nicks will contend but going to the finals I'm not so sure next tweet please lmore PR P XS right at 67 269 pounds do you think what is it m is that how you pronounce his name m m could beat LeBron in a game to 21 67 269 lbs one on one right here you know well he he's shorter than LeBron but he weighs more you know well it says here I don't know ability pressure unnerve hidden ability all right so he's got composure psychic yeah he can anticipate moves and stuff like that yeah maybe he could pull it off I mean from the looks of me might scared LeBron LeBron might want to shoot nothing but jump shots might not want to come near him that going be a problem and that long tail you never know might strip him yeah I can say that it's a mirac I'm not saying it definitely would happen but it's possible it's possible let's go with that next tweet please at man boor Sports over his six years of enrollment at Hogwarts Hogwarts Harry Potter only played in nine quidditch matches for cindor Gryffindor Gryffindor I'm sorry this was due to a combination of injuries suspensions and cancellations he compiled an overall record of seven and two who is the Harry Potter of the NBA H over six years of enrollment huh over six years of enrollment compiled an overall record of seven and two Jason Tatum Jason Tatum do you know that this year is going to Mark I think it's the sixth time that Jason Tatum has been in a Conference Finals one time in the NBA Finals wearing a Boston Celtics uniform still no NBA championship still no NBA championship very very good this this reeks this breeds very very good I think Jason Tatum is better than great very very good I think he's great but he has to cement it he has to prove it by winning the championship this year and if he gets through the Indiana Pacers well then guess what's next it's either Kyrie and Luca or it's Ant-Man Anthony Edwards and that Minnesota defense one way or another he wins the title this year he going to earn it they got a challenge I would say this is what it is that's it for this edition of the Stephen A Smith show I appreciate y'all for hanging out with me thanks again to everybody that joined the show today much much much appreciate I wish we could have started on a better note but we couldn't that video still resonates and it will be for some time the story is not going away I wish it would I wish it had never happened but it did and stuff like that is what we have to talk about when it happens hopefully we can get into a lot more Sports
