Did I make the right choice? 2021 Tesla Model 3 SR+ owner review of the Performance

[Music] uh [Music] well guys here we are we have the model 3 standard range plus 2021 and the uh model 3 performance 2021 some of the differences of the exterior let's start with that well first of all i got to tell you that i've done a couple of changes to mine of course i've made these black as you can see i need to do that redo it because it's a little chip right there which is super annoying i've also changed the wheels to t-sport lines tinted the windows as i said before and also added this with spoiler in the rear and of course uh made this black as well yes i'm going to make this black too because as you know i don't like chrome and i'm just being lazy but i'm gonna dip that as well i think those are all the exterior changes to the car so as you can see we don't have any badge here at all any sword nothing that says that this is a standard range plus except for the fact that it doesn't say anything and that's pretty much it now if we look at the uh model 3 performance here what you can see is that it says first of all dual motor right there as you can see very beautiful but the way to tell that this is a performance which i think you know already how to do it is this little red pin stripe that goes right in the underline of the dual motor if that's red that means that you have a performance and here also we have a proper carbon fiber lip or spoiler which is almost exactly like mine now the problem with these spoilers here even from factory is that they can't seem to really press it down all the way i don't know if you can see this but this is how all model 3s come like and this is one of these quality issues that i think tesla can improve upon now i had to double check my wing when i got back home to see if this has the same fitment but i think that this aftermarket spoiler actually fits better than the stock carbon fiber from tesla pretty interesting and you also see this gap here is pretty large other than that the differences on the model 3 standard range plus and the performance is of course the first visual cue are these uber or eu better turbine wheels if you're from europe and they look pretty cool they're they're 20 inch now with the pirelli p zeros wrapped around them and you also have bramble breaks painted in red both rear and front as well i like this design i wasn't a huge fan of the the wheel the new wheel design of of these in the frame at first but when i saw it out on the streets or out like this i think it looks pretty good it looks better than the previous silver model 3 performance wheel that they that they had from 2020 so that's one upgrade that i like and also the stance of the car is it sits just a little bit lower than the standard range plus even though you can't really tell if you look at them like this you can't really tell that the model 3 performance sits lower than my centering plus and of course i have the 275s at the rear which you can see fits really nicely inside there and if you go over to it's a lot of running here today if you go over to the performance you can see that they still sit way inside the the wheel well there so i would definitely probably if i had if i had the performance i would probably i think put 275s in the rear and maybe switch out these wheels the designs as well too the t-sport line because i absolutely love these wheels right here but these are not bad either and another thing that i know is just now is that the law i think the long range as well and the performance they come with fog lights these pieces right here these are actually fog lights that i don't think i or do i maybe maybe i do have them there i'm not sure i know i have a a daylight in here but i'm not sure if this is a fun this is something that i now have to explore a little more to see if i actually have fog lights because when i was driving this i had a toggle on the inside in the dash asking to turn on turn on or off the fog lights and i don't think i have that in my standard range plus so those are the exterior changes on the car me personally if i had to choose between black and white you know i like the white batter just because it's the same thing with the wheels wheel design if you have black wheels and if you have a black car you can't really see the design and the shape of the car as well as you can when you have a white car now the other end of that is that if there is any imperfection in the design or in the cut lines or anything like that you're gonna see it a lot clearer on a white car compared to a black of course so they can kind of hide any defects that they have in the cut lines if you have a black car but definitely as you can see this car right here first thing i would do that it needs for the visual appeal in my opinion is of course a tint of some sort maybe not 100 limo like i have there but some sort of tint especially in the rear it just it would just tie everything else together but looking at it like this and what i really love about this look are the painted calipers and honestly honestly i think i'm gonna do something similar like this to my calipers even though it says tesla there which is pretty cool not sure if all tesla model 3s has the tesla stamped on the actual brake but i think i'm going to paint my calipers red what do you think leave a comment below if i should leave it gray it kind of it looks pretty good gray too melts in with the overall design but red would just make it you know two little small one red dot there and one red dot over there we just make it pop a little bit more that makes sense all right now let's jump inside and let's see if we have any news on the inside and of course let's turn on the ac because it's incredibly hot it's even getting hotter even though the sun is setting it's now 91 degrees as you can see right there crazy so let's turn the ac on not blast it too much because then you can't hear me so i don't think i have this setting right here in my car quick controls lights the front fog pretty sure i don't have that i'm going to go over and show you if i have it or not and then i have a bunch of different uh autopilot settings here that i don't have either and i think this is maybe full automation i'm not sure oops let's just do medium on that one and i think that's pretty much it in differences when it comes to the uh the navigation or the tablet or the software i can't seem to find where to get get it in track mode maybe they've since it's a loner car maybe you can't really put it in track mode i'm gonna google it right now yeah so as i thought the track mode is supposed to be under driving here so you have driving and then track mode is supposed to be somewhere yeah right there so you can see that it's not active right now i don't think maybe race preset that's up i don't want to mess it up because it's not my car so i think i'm just gonna leave it as it is and not mess with that but i'm sure if this is my car i would get i would get it to to track mode in some way other than that you have the same kind of interior the exact same interior as you have in my car in the center range plus and the long range as well and everything feels nice and solid you have soft touch materials here i'm not sure why people are complaining about the build quality from a driver's experience and from the interior as well i think everything in here is super well well built and feels nice it has a premium touch to it you have some felt here for your wireless charging or your phones and also this navigation here feels good although i prefer what i have the mod that i have which makes it matte this is way too reflective now that i've used i'm used to my screen in my car and i'm going to show you that as well i've made a video on that all my mods if you want to go and check it out down below in the description but other than that premium feel in here very simple design as i'm sure everybody's used to by now these are magnetic which is new for 2021 as well and this is new this slider we don't have this piano black very sticky fingerprinty design that we had before and you have a lot of store storage here just like i showed you when i took delivery of my car as well and looking at the paddles we have the performance pedals here and that's one another upgrade that i did to my car as well i wanted to have the performance pedal it looks a lot better than having it uh just be when you have the center range plus and i think the long range too they just have some black plastic pieces as petals and it kind of looks uh looks cheap this looks a lot better you can get these in the link down below in the description from where i got mine so i've had the model 3 performance now for about 24 hours and of course i love it i love the performance the pull is similar to the one i get in my standard range plus however this is of course two seconds faster zero to sixty but the sensation of acceleration is pretty much the same kind of feeling however if you look at this in the model 3 performance here there's just one thing i wish that tesla could have done differently and that is actually the design of this thing the reason for it is when you buy a specific performance model like the model 3 performance you want it to feel a little special not just feel special but you want it to kind of look special as well for example talk about the audi a3 for example you have the s3 and then you have the rs3 same with the bmw 3 series for example you have the m3 and the regular 3 series and they all look a little different so what i would love tesla to do for i don't know their next iteration of model 3 performance is to just make it stand out a bit more from the rest of the lineup so you don't want to have it looking exactly like a standard range plus but this has a few changes such as the uh oiler right here carbon fiber and you have the specific wheels as well and the painted brembo brakes front and rear and it also sits about almost half an inch more than the the other two the long range and the standard range plus which isn't much but it kind of makes the performance it handles a little better according to tesla and you also have these fog lights right here which i think is also available on the long range but what i'm talking about is some changes to the overall bodywork of the car so add a different type of front air intake right here maybe add some bits and pieces right here maybe a corner splitter like this or an entire new lift from factory we can also do something like that on the side here something that wouldn't really affect the uh the overall performance and the range of the car but still make it look different and also you could probably add some more aggressive diffuser than what we have right here because this one is the exact same one as we have on the standard range plus and the long range so these are a couple of things that i think tesla could do better now i do understand why they did it like this because it's a young company you have to understand that the model s came out in 2012 so it's still a relatively young company but i think for the next iteration of the model 3 i think they have the resources and the time to create something a bit more special because as i said if you're buying the top of the line model 3 performance you want it to not only feel special with its sick acceleration and pull but you also want it to look special as well and of course the dual motor with the red underline right here means that it's a performance if you just have a silver underline that means that it is a long range and if it's lacking anything at all it doesn't say anything here then you have a standard range plus that's also one of the differences on this model compared to the other one let's just do a 0-60 here like floor it from zero right there and three two one [Music]
