I think what D2R enjoyers keep failing to articulate is that they don't think that Pindle/Baal/LK/Trav etc runs are better than D4 dungeons, or that they're not mind-numbingly repetitive, they just do not want D4 dungeons to also be that repetitive. They want an improvement. They made terror zones in D2R for a reason.

If you're going to boast that you made 150 dungeons, I want the vast majority of them to be memorable and have unique elements. Give every one of them a unique final encounter. Put some monsters in them that are only found in specific dungeons. Scramble the final encounters around for nightmare dungeons.

There's a reason I can recall from memory all these different dungeons from Diablo 2. When you say maggot lair or den of evil, or ruined temple I can immediately picture them and tell you Coldworm is in maggot lair, Battlemaid Sarina in ruined temple and corpsefire is in the den.

I don't think some people realize it's less "all he wants to do is play D2/play a reskin of D2" and more "he wants a reason to play a new Diablo game." He brings up valid points, lots of them in fact, and has good insights especially considering how one of Blizzard's key talking points going into D4 was trying to make it more in line with D1/D2.

As someone that loves D1/D2, I could play those two any day of the week but at the same time I've played them for well over 20 years now. I'd love for a Diablo game to grab me like those two did again while at the same time providing something fresh as to not feel derivative but also recognize and understand the things that made those games special and stand out.

Iā€™d rather hear the bad and decide for myself whether to buy than hear all hype

I think this video perfectly illustrates how annoying and lopsided the discussion around this game is.

So the dungeons are a problem and I think everybody can agree to this. There are objectives with backtracking, and the layouts are repetitive. Even if you don't mind all that, there's definitely room for improvement. His rating for the dungeons? Terrible. He went on and on about how horrible they feel. Same goes with the UI, he called it "garbage". The rest of the review on the negatives goes on like this.

Now, when he talks about positives like graphics, or the gameplay, the game is just "pretty good" or "pretty solid", but "insert random critique". The graphics "look like other games" and "he can't put his finger" on why he doesn't enjoy them. He went on to say said that "if the game came out 5-10 years ago, it would've been impressive, but now not so much". These are aspects where D4 is miles ahead of the competition, without question. Being the absolute best in the genre at something warrants a "pretty solid", a critique and downplay.

Now before people jump down my throat, I don't expect MrLlama, nor anyone else, to suck D4's dick or something. He can have his own preferences. I don't want him to sing the game praises - personally, I pretty much agree with 90% of the things Kripp said in his review video (which are true criticism).

But it just shows how a lot of the D2 fanbase (and not only) is just fucking itching to shit on the game. When it does something good, it's pretty good (with caveats), but when it does something bad, it's fucking terrible and trash. Nothing it ever does, and nothing it ever changes can be truly good, there must be always something wrong with the game. Every single aspect is nitpicked and painted in a bad light, all under a thin veneer of "critique". The mask even slips off at some point and he says "Let's be honest, this game is basically D3.5".

This isn't a review and there's no genuine interest in what the game does and how it could improve - it's an excuse to shit on it so his fanbase of D2 purists are happy. That's all.

I agree that the non-skippable side quest dialogue is extremely annoying.

I like mrLama, but I dont think that anyone who plays that much Diablo 2 could ever be objective about Diablo 4 and because of that I wouldnt put any weight on his opinions.

I stopped at bad repetition is bad but it seems to be fine to open a new game after every pindle. It's fine that he likes D2 more than D4. I get it... He is one of the biggest content creators there... On D4 he would be one of many average streamers.

I still like his D2 content though...

I don't know how people are able to watch his videos with his high pitch voice. Add to the fact that all he does is whine about D4. Like nails on a chalkboard. Go back to D2R and stay there.

all right let's have a chat about Diablo 4. so overall I rated it a 5.5 out of 10. now you could rate it a 10 out of 10. you could rate it a 1 out of 10. all of that is totally valid it's crazy because it's subjective everybody gets to rate it however they like am I crazy am I only rating at that because it's not Diablo 2 no I'm rating at that because that is how I felt coming out of the beta now of course there's a couple chains of dots it's only a beta llama that was a 10 out of 10 beta but for me this beta really just felt like it was supposed to be just a stress test on the servers and maybe checking a couple small things for the most part this seems close to what the full game is really going to be at the same time this is what they chose to show us and for instance they showed us 28 Dungeons and only three of those dungeons had actual uniqueness to them and those were the story dungeons the other 25 five dungeons were copy pasted dungeons with terrible need to go gather the key from here bring it to there gather the key from here bring it to here whatever mechanics that were boring as could be now whenever I go in on the dungeons everybody says but you've done a thousand pindle runs before and that was fine and yes it was fine you know why because I didn't have to go to here and gather one key and bring it to the center and then go to here and gather another key or mechanical box or push the lever or kill this little side whatever it was and bring it to the center to unlock Pendle to go kill pindle the idea is not that grinding and repetition is bad the idea is bad repetition and bad grinding is bad if the repetition is unfun such as you just have to go and carry this box but every time to unlock the boss to kill the boss that is not fun that is a terrible grinding mechanic I'll kill Mephisto a thousand times I'll go kill Lilith a thousand times in this game or whatever dungeon boss the butcher or any of these things a thousand times and I will love it and enjoy it and have a great time but don't make the terrible dungeon grind boring piece so awful like that that is where the repetition gets bad and at the same time having that dungeon then paste it everywhere is also bad because you know what's different killing Diablo from killing Mephisto from killing Bale waves from killing Pendle from doing Nila thack each one of those bosses is a different experience if you're going through the Durance and then you know maybe moat trick track tricking or trapping Mephisto versus killing all the Bell waves and going and killing bail versus clearing the chaos sanctuary and killing Diablo versus just a quick shot to pindle and killing pindle there versus nilthack with the explosions uh from his you know corpse explosion and having to dodge that right each one of those is a different mechanic to get to said boss again the fact that a dungeon you can run over and over again is not the problem it's just if you if you tout there's 150 dungeons in this game but 98 of them are the same exact dungeon there's not 150 dungeons in this game there's like 15 dungeons in this game and then just one other dungeon that is the same dungeon and if that dungeon sucks because of this right here do do do do do do do do do and oh wait I botched it this was supposed to connect to here erase bus two slots key if this is 98 of your dungeon or you come in here you get the key you bring it to here you go to here you get the key you bring it to here you go to here and in the many times where sometimes the key will be like right back here or you need a third key and you didn't get it so you go there and get that key then you go get this key and you realize there's still a third key and then you backtrack all the way again to get that key and come back it just it's an unfun dungeon again that is just the piece I'm saying this dungeon sucks this was the most boring thing ever and for a game that is supposed to be about running dungeons over and over in the end game right that's supposed to be a big core Loop this is a terrible core Loop this will make me very bored of the game it'll get very stale fast is this how it's going to be I don't know but this is what we got to see from everything they showed us and this this is not fun there was a lot of backtracking in these dungeons there was also kill every monster in the Dungeons and you can say but Mr lava there's the den of evil and I say yes there is the den of evil and the den of evil in Diablo 2 is about this big it is three tiles and yes you can have to backtrack and it can be a little annoying but it is one Quest at the very start that is an optional Quest and the tiles are really not that large overall compared to how big some of these dungeons actually are now at the same time if Diablo 2 added in 5 or 10 or 20 of this Quest I would be like man Diablo 2 kind of sucks with how many times I have to go and kill every single Monster you know so again the idea is let's just not have 10 of this or 20 of this Quest right one time is already enough in Diablo 2 where I'm like I don't really want to go kill every single Monster again and so them having that or just Kiki all right all right sure and bring it to here to unlock boss this is on fun grinding so that is one of my biggest complaints again with dungeons knowing that that is going to be an end game component that they've discussed multiple times it is just not a fun experience currently I'm all for grinding if they can make the dungeons a more varied so that we don't have 140 of the same kind of dungeon and B have a better mechanic than just bring three keys or three boxes or three levers or whatever pieces to here to unlock boss I will happily go grind dungeons for a thousand times in a row right that's not the problem it's just add more variety to it make it so I can go to a different dungeon and so dungeons feel more distinct so I'll remember oh that dungeon had this cool boss and this cool you know pathway and all these things as opposed to right now can you honestly tell me the difference between any of the dungeons in the Diablo 4 world like could you could I point to any of the dungeons on Diablo 4's map and you tell me what that dungeon was like what the boss in that dungeon was you could maybe say I remember one dungeon had us had a spider boss or something right like there were a couple times where you remembered maybe that but you couldn't tell I I highly doubt you can tell me which dungeons had which things about them in which ways and that would be really cool to me if I could if I could remember those if they had enough variety that I I wanted that you know so um right we've gone off on dungeons for long enough but I that's I just want to make that point I think there is a lot that can be done and this will be um a lot that just needs to be added to it because it's it they're unfun currently um yeah and and a a piece here the next piece I I will I will bring up is uh let's let's go like good bad good bad we can kind of Bounce all around on it I thought the game looked and performed quite well did it have some FPS stutters and things here and there sure again that stuff I think is coming with beta all the stress tests on the servers all that stuff I think that'll be improved pretty well by the time the game actually releases so I don't really care too much about that I thought it performed pretty well and when I was playing my Barbarian I was having a blast that was actually my favorite character to play the Sorceress was probably second and the Rogue again I tried her in multiple ways I still couldn't get the Rogue to feel good at least leveling through people were kind of saying once you got her to 25 and did some more stuff she was more fun but I was just struggling to really enjoy her on the way through sorceress was doing okay but I actually really loved the Barb I felt like he was he was fun his attacks had some good weight to them I felt like uh with the lunge attack I could really kind of you know push myself into mobs and and be in the way the multi-weapon feature all of their like uh unique pieces about them like you know the Sorceress gets her enchant and the multi-weapon stuff I really didn't notice that much but it was something that you know I did think was kind of cool um and I did notice at least with the Barbarian I would notice when I swapped like from a heavy mace to like a spear or whatever um I did notice the difference in kind of the attack and how that was hitting and so that to me was something that I did appreciate but I didn't really notice my four weapon Arsenal super well I imagine as the game goes on that'll be something I'll I'll feel and notice more often but you know for now that was uh something I'm just kind of noting but I really did think the combat played through quite well and let me go to here let me go here I want to see if we have Barb footage why is my VOD muted all right it's weird there's pieces okay this was when we're doing that oh I was doing the lore run yeah I don't know why this VOD is muted it doesn't really make sense wait it's not oh that's what if it was highlighted okay the world boss was really cool but there you go here we have a little bit of this this was a little bit too much World of Warcraft to me right here where it's or like any Korean any MMO where I was just trying to gather spirit from the undead but there were also other people in the world who were killing all of the monsters and so they also were gathering the spirit the anima from the undead and so I'd have to like wait for them to respawn it was a very MMO piece and it was something that I felt was slightly annoying because you can't really ssf this game because of this right like they don't give you the option it's like well if you're in a dungeon and stuff you can but if you want to do these sorts of things you're you're going to have other people that are like that they're just killing all the stuff and this Quest just takes a while because of that you know that you were fighting or whatever but you know like this I really felt like my Barb was able to chase monsters down with this lunging attack and I mean look at the look at the like swings on him and the hits and again this was the mace I I want to see if I have there you go this is the spear that I have later and let's see me attack with this spear here lunge attack is like the best attack so you can see already that like feels sounds hits differently than that mace you know so looks like a glaive yeah so I mean the Barb was was really great um to play I really did enjoy the Barb and you can even see I'm level 19 and I have literally three skills and this is true all the way through I'm like level oh yes words there's moo I'm level 21 and I have three skills and this is because it was nice to just get in on the passives and all of this stuff and kind of like play up with these three skills which was really nice um and so that's kind of also why I liked The Bard because I wasn't playing this game of like well I have all these skills and all these cooldowns and having to rotate through them and then wait on the cooldown and I can't use all the skills that I have because I am limited to just these limited skill slots and all this stuff like I didn't need it I just got to run in there and smash some dudes and it was plain and simple and I I just to me that's just like classic arpg feeling oops classic RPG feeling right there is you're just like you're just a dude and you're just pounding away on the guys and it's just nice and that's like classic right to me your Classics are just like your Ranger your Mage and your Warrior and you're just you're just either shooting bows at guys and you know shooting the arrows or you're just sitting there and just be in a tank and wailing on a guy or as the wizard you know you're just casting your spells from from the back those are the three um and they're just a nice classic feel and I felt the Barb really grasped that piece and I wasn't having to do this whole mix and match of all these spells whatever I play the Barb nice and simple and he still was good and it was fun so I really liked that piece um about the game again that's something I think was really a positive there and again the look of the game I think is pretty solid I think it still is not exactly my look for a game that I a thousand percent go for and that's just because it and it's not to say it's not beautiful like it really is but there's it it very much hits the uh I guess a lot of a lot of games look like this like it's a it's really just hard to say screen contrast or like the contrast of colors a little bit um you know like I do think it has a nice Darkness to it I do think they I mean compared to D3 this this game is Miles Ahead for me right and it it's it's all fine it all looks great it's all this but there's there's some sort of Beauty in video games that I think it's a little bit lost with some of these newer games a little bit and I just um again that's just a personal preference that's that's all that it is it's just a personal preference for me uh where I just I just feel like a lot of times the all these games just look similar a little bit um that's all it's just a little generic but it's it's a great looking generic right it's like to me it's kind of like if you love photorealistic paintings or if you like abstract works of art a little bit in in a way or just art that's that's different not even abstract but just uh a different style right it's like you can sit there and appreciate that somebody can paint a picture that looks exactly like it's real life but you can also not like that you can also be like cool that's great but I want I love a pollock or I love uh Monet what I mean right it's like there's there's just a large variety of art that exists in the world and sometimes there's this fantasy art that's you know whatever and then you know and so you know Diablo 3 whilst crazy colorful is probably some sort of art I didn't like that but this also to me um is is more in that kind of again just just a similar style and this is something that you know anybody can argue for their own sake as well um you know that it's beautiful and great and fantastic because you know what there's many people that love photorealistic paintings um but I think a lot of older games had more distinct art styles and there are plenty of newer games that do as well you know um and so I I just feel like the art style was uh better in in those just just preference it's pure preference that's all but I overall I think the game um looks good you know and I think like how the characters look for free is also a huge step up compared to something like Path of Exile the fact that like my characters can look super cool for you know I mean uh shoot I just got off of it let me see if I can find it there we go like this is how my Barbarian looks ignore the awful ugly UI but look at how cool my Barbarian looks this right here is Godly to me this is 10 out of 10. in Path of Exile I would have a stupid bucket on my head and I would look awful right unless I paid forty dollars for that you know Poe is free to play though yeah I mean sure right and you gotta buy your Snapchat and then whatever but um but like the fact that you I've just got some basic gear on but my dude can still look awesome and I can do all this stuff and he can look great I love it I think they did a really fantastic job uh with that and it doesn't feel like I need to pay for skins to look cool I feel like even not paying for skins just wearing basic items my character can look really cool so um yeah I know it's just just a thing so again that's all the positives now because we're on this page let's jump to a negative how ugly is this font and and UI it's so bad first off this looks just like Diablo immortal like they straight up ported this UI over from Diablo immortal secondly you're you have this gorgeous game underneath even if it's not a game of you know exactly the style I love it's still I can recognize a very beautiful game and then you're gonna plaster just these garbage like Excel Microsoft Word you know PowerPoint like I don't even know man it feels like this comes out of Microsoft presentation um pieces on top of it you have different fonts in different places so the font is not uniform at all I mean how many fonts do we have on this screen alone it's like oath work is trying to use the Diablo font then you have rare ring written in I'm assuming Ariel or something right and going to here Mrs llama SC compared to no titles selected right there compared to profile materials and stats I mean there's got to be at least like four different equipped there's at least like four or five different fonts on this screen right I'm not a font expert but there is a ton of fonts all over the screen and it just looks bad like I say to me you can love it you can think it looks great I think this looks really bad um the inventory Tabs are their own font yeah it's like and it just looks like a mobile game you can say nitpicking but I have to look at the UI a lot and will this make the game play or not play no but do all of these pieces add up for sure it's very clean and it's too clean for a um Diablo game I completely agree I think you could overhaul this entire thing and that'll improve it greatly and I mean on this screen we can also dive in on things like attack power armor yeah that also gets a little Annoying um you know like they they just continued with the whole item power on items like just continuing with the again everybody who says Mr llama you just wanted Diablo 2 remade but then they don't acknowledge that this is Diablo 3 remade is kind of silly to me because a lot of this is Diablo 3 remade made better I will a thousand percent say this game is Diablo 3 improved totally totally but I mean just everything even down to the way of okay you just have a couple sockets on the item you just kind of put your gem in there how the items kind of lay out exists uh the attack power the item power it's diablo 3.5 let's be honest but it's good it's it's it's much better it's much better than than D3 now I still think D3 zy is actually slightly better I think they somehow worsened the UI in this game um Aspen said this game came out in 2015 I'd be impressed but it's 2023. I think that's a little bit true I think if this game came out five to ten years ago it would be more impressive I think in 2023 it's it's a little less impressive and especially when you bring like these uis and pieces or the fact that like the map is just this opaque Block in your top right corner you can't have an overlaid map on top of you and stuff it's like come on guys we've had this exist in every game now for years right we need this on top and again you have this beautiful area right here like this actually looks so cool all of this and then you have tab map and journal that just doesn't go away a giant map that's right here your quest log you can only follow one Quest at a time I can only pin one Quest what why can I only pin one Quest I mean it's like basic things that we've we've had for 10 15 years functionalities are just missing all over the place and these are things that they can put in and and that's why I say it's a 5.5 out of 10 for me right now because you can add a map that can overlay you can make it you know not as garbage with all that you can have it so I can have more than just these skills I can hot key more skills especially if one's an ultimate that's gonna have a 70 second cool down I don't want that on my skill bar make it so I can you know push ALT key or whatever and I have four more skills or just I can hotkey more or if I'm on Console I can hold left trigger and then have a whole new set of skills right like do that you know add more pinning of quest all of these things will start to improve the rating of this game but without any of those things each one of them is a small tick point one point two rating you know just keeps taking off because it's just it's just another annoyance another little piece that just is like tedious and whatever also oh my God the fact that there's emote quest in the game it's like come on Lost Ark much just ugh the soldiers are a little sad if you go clap and cheer them up I'll give you some gold and experience I mean really really if I go and clap for the soldiers I get experience and gold really are we five I don't know man great job soldiers as a five-year-old that Quest would be something for me but and people are like oh you're just nitpicking the game it's like yeah you're making me clap for soldiers I go up to a little statue and it's like tell me you're sorry and then I go into my emote wheel and I'm like I'm sorry and it's like here's five health potions really the evil Quest kill me man and 5 000 experience I mean again you are allowed to love everything I hate about this game and you can hate things I love about this game as well right like everything is totally fine it's all opinions here for everybody nothing is objective about it um but some of the pieces really just it it just felt a little bit like the audience they're aiming for is maybe a bit younger and a bit more casual and a bit more I I don't know I don't know because it also felt like you know for instance there's the one like orange Quest whatever you call that thing where you just come Acron it uh come upon it um where you have to like there's an obelisk in the middle and you have to stand on the little circles events and it like the the blood draws to the Obelisk while you stand on the circle and you have to stand on all four of those and it's like again a small thing but why am I not losing blood while I'm standing on the circle shouldn't I be losing life is that making the game too hard though I feel like at some point that was a thing it's taken the Demon's blood from killing them but you don't have to kill the demon you can just stand there you don't have to kill and again that's that's like a small whatever you don't have to do that that's not changing my rating of the game at all but I'm just thinking the game overall did feel and the game had some difficulty I will admit like you could easily go through the game and just not die I I won't lie and say you know I was like afraid to die really a lot of points or anything but there was times where okay it was a little difficult I could see why you know I died a few times yeah because I wasn't like playing to not die a lot of times right I was just kind of chilling at one point I was level like five fighting that level 13 person so I died many times there you know I'm trying to push the limits of the game of course I will die a few times um so you know like all that is fine but uh you know it it feels like with the overall game style all of this that that like first the game is built for console and second the game is built a little bit for like arcade style I think that's probably the best the best way I can I can say it because again it doesn't have to do exactly with the difficulty in that way anything like that but there's still a lot of the idea that I feel like Diablo 3 kind of had with this um which was Diablo 3 was a really good game for co-op on the couch playing with your friends you know and it's more of an arcade style and I think for me at least playing this well I still had a decent time especially playing the Barbarian it still felt you know I mean the the potions on the ground like that whatever it still just felt arcadey you know I I wasn't fully immersed in anything I wasn't in in some crazy everyone is it was fine it was totally fine I enjoyed myself it was better than Diablo 3. for sure but it felt like an arcade game still you know and I and I think that's been you know multiple games kind of of this the later Style all right that's the spirit Quest thing that was bad World boss was really cool really fun definitely just like uh meet Shield that could then just like destroy you with that little attack and stuff but um have you ever considered that I'm old and out of touch and outdated yeah oh totally this is my old man outdated like discussion right here right totally my old man outdated discussion um so I completely agree with that but yeah just I don't know a lot of the game felt like an arcade game I'm just an old man yelling at the clouds right now that's all and and again I don't think there's anything wrong with an arcade game I think arcade games are very fun I think a game that you can sit down on the couch and play with your friend is very fun right but I think that is also part of why this game will never be a 10 out of 10 for me because I don't you know I don't view Diablo games and if it ever is to get to a 10 out of 10 I'd have to really shift completely my like idea of the game my idea of an arpg my idea of all this stuff it just I just don't think it will get there I think the systems that it's built on the items that it's built on let me see if we can like find the skill tree is like quite simple a little bit Bland for my taste um but even just kind of the items you know it's like the items in the game have just kind of Bland pieces a little bit the affixes again are better than D3 I cared more about it but I also still didn't care really about like any item bases that existed except maybe a little bit for weapons because I liked the bludgeoning of the mace but other than that like I didn't care about any of the bases if I had a you know whatever I don't even know what the armor-based types are up you know a breastplate versus scale male versus whatever no stats no requirements on anything no change or Edition anything different about them that I could tell no like you know circlets and die items can roll these kinds of stats versus these kinds of things they just look different that's all I think they do is they look different I'm not sure that those pieces have anything else about them that is unique and again a little bit with you know some of these or a lot of these affixes just 9.5 percent overpower damage 5.5 Critical Strike damage five or five percent damage to slowed enemies 5.5 core skill damage 7.5 damage to close enemies I I mean it's just not an interesting do you know item is damage damage damage damage damage and it's just five different types of the damage that I'm really not going to ever focus on a ton it'll just kind of exist as it exists um you know and so you know lucky chance strike yeah I mean I I don't know and again some people like this and I I think by them adding certain things like the plus skills onto the items did make the items a little bit more fun and more interesting right D2 itemization is boring too you are allowed to think D2 itemization is boring I think you don't know anything about what you're talking about but you can say the same exact thing to me right you can say the same thing to me right now I can go into a whole hour long discussion about why d-toothed itemization is actually really amazing and all of the intricacies that you've probably never thought about with it and all sorts of stuff um but we don't need to do all that right we're going to do all that stuff because you're entitled your opinion if you think the D2 itemization is boring then you can think it's boring because you can get down to the basic and say plus skills and plus life and that's all you care about and you know if you're at the highest basic shallow level sure plus skills and plus life and plus resistances go and stack as much of that as you can and you'll be mildly alright you don't got to look any any further into it and maybe within Diablo 4 and Diablo 3 there's there's more of of that as well maybe the highest level is just damage and then it's you know whatever further beyond that I mean in Diablo 3 it was just main stat right um and crit and stuff but cool down reduction but you know who knows who knows um there could be could be plenty more so yeah so I mean to me again this is where I think a lot of people will differ from my opinion as I think that you know these items are very much continuing with the overall piece of Diablo 3 and continuing with the overall piece of just more generic itemization that's less it just it doesn't matter as much right you don't have to think about your itemization as much you can just like kind of equip whatever is highest item power and you'll be able to just kind of blow everything up and be totally fine and and whatever there um now continuing from this I think trading is something that they've actually gotten half right in the game now why is it half right because they're allowing you to trade rare items and they said rare items are the strongest items in the game right everything will be you'll take a rare item you'll craft whatever legendary aspect onto it or imprint it and then it will be the best item in the game this is according to the devs so my thoughts are if you are allowing us to trade the best item in the game which is the rare items then why not just allow us to trade everything else right like if if you're if you're only limiting things that are worse than the best items in the game it doesn't make sense that we can't trade something that would be worse than the best items in the game in the game right so like why can't I just trade the legendary why can't I just trade the unique why can't I just trade these other things that are not the best items in the game that to me has yet to fully make sense um oh it looks like cattle levels that's what that moo was I was like why is there a moo cow levels are Terror Zone in D2 um so you know that that to me does have some confusion uh right there but at least they are if they are truthful in what they are saying at least they are allowing us to trade rare items which are the best items in the game thus trade is decently open and that's pretty nice so I like that a lot I think I could definitely have fun being in the marketplace and just trading for a bunch of awesome rare items and then crafting onto them and or just not crafting but trading them for more or crafting them into whatever pieces or imprint in the aspects yada yada on to it it could be fun um crafting I didn't really get into a lot but it seems like crafting is going to be pretty bland and Diablo 3-ish um I don't remember a ton about The Crafting I've just like looked through it briefly and just looked at it a little bit it looked pretty boring um Diablo 2 doesn't have good crafting either but uh but Diablo 3 it was yeah neither crafting system is good um yeah it looked pretty copy pasted um let's see what else what else the gambling I mean they I'm sure they just over ticked like uh whatever it was because like the the drop rates and the gamble rates and stuff because it was so easy to gamble legendaries it was crazy I I literally could gamble a whole character to legendary items um same gambling in D3 again there's like a lot of Diablo 3 influence in this game it is it is very heavily D3 influenced it's improved in many places over D3 but it still ultimately has the core Diablo 3 piece to it right but it's darker it is it is darker you are correct on that um the vendors selling like two items was weird I didn't really understand why vendors only sold like two or three things I guess the idea is the vendors could sell really Godly things at some point but maybe it's just a beta thing they don't want you to shop things I don't know too too much for console I mean you can definitely see and this is why I always say I don't like games as much that are made for console and PC at the same time or are built for you know mobile and PC or whatever it is right whenever you build a game for multiple systems like that at the same time you're always making sacrifices whether it's the UI whether it's just the look the interaction of you know items how many skills you have this game is definitely designed around a controller right like you can just see how many things are are designed around a controller existing and it's like cool I like that they can do that but it's like that to me is a sacrifice because for a PC it dumbs the game down a little bit it makes the game the the interface not as great a lot of times interfaces will come up over your whole screen which like thankfully the skill tree was just over to the side and it wasn't the entire screen so I could still run and do stuff I did appreciate that greatly in Diablo 4 because that's something that I hate in so many games now where it's like you open up your inventory or your whatever and it fills up your entire screen because that's how console players have to have it and it's like come on man let me if I was on a PC I'd just be running and like doing stuff while I'm running around you know um but yeah you can see that there is a lot of uh console influence in this game and to me that does lower the overall value as a PC game but that's fine like again you can totally love how it looks still how it plays still you know but I I just I just feel those parts when I'm playing it I'm enjoying the game I think it's decent to play you know there's certain parts that were annoying the game having so much like dialogue and story and whatever the story was cool I did one time through with the story but I played in the first like two hours of my stream I mean I'm not gonna go through the whole thing but I'll just I'll just show you here is here is me starting okay and I'll just kind of Click through and it was like story story story story and dialogue the running story Quest yeah you're running to the next story fees do we get a little fight I know we're waiting for them to okay then we got here and then story and story with the Holograms which was like all right we're getting a little bit of asmadan right here you know I don't need the holographs how about just have like a a little parchment or something I can read hey I get to kill that person oh then we jumped into the the boss there let's go away from all that hold on now we have to fight that up back to more story more dialogue cutscene more you know there and just like pieces pieces like this if this is five out of ten what would I rate D3 I mean again it's like D3 has gone through multiple phases and stuff you know like I just I can't even skip this part you know and this just occurred too many times there there yes the big cut scene stories you can Skip and I just did skip that but I guess I don't have to at this point I could go over here to get the woman you're right but there still were pieces that you couldn't skip with many of those parts like the dog in the fire zone that doesn't really matter it's just like in in between zone for no reason hold on where was that one where he just has to like walk over to the portal and you have to talk to him before he can go through and stuff here it is like this Zone we just like have to wait until he sits and then I can go to interact with him obviously I can skip through this dialogue if I want but now unskippable I have to just wait I just have to wait I just have to wait and okay now I can open the door now I have to just wait now I just have to wait now I can interact you know it's like come on and the idea is sure the first time it's cool whatever when I'm playing through for my 20th character I don't want to have to do this wait and it's not just here it is in many places in the game right where this was this would happen anytime you had the dialogue that was not this that that wasn't a cut scene you just had to wait for the dog to walk to walk to walk to turn to sit now you can interact foreign if you think that's nitpicking I mean again you're entitled to your opinion I don't know I don't know what you want that will bore the crap out of me on the 50th playthrough that'll bore the crap out of me on the second playthrough as well like I don't I don't need to to constantly wait the first time cool but even waiting on the dog to just like walk over and sit it wasn't even like interesting story right it's like you know whatever um yeah let's see what else what else have I not hit on and again those are small things that can totally be improved you know like that's something where they can just allow me to press escape and the dog just transports to where it needs to be and then I just click it and it's like it's improved you know and then that's no longer a complaint uh we haven't seen anything from PvP yet I do know damage does get up into the tens of millions which does worry me about PVP balance but you can always balance PVP still in some capacity though having damage scaled that much is slightly worrisome we just don't know but we'll just have to test when PVP is allowed the fact that they didn't show us any PVP yet does worry me slightly because I'm pretty sure they promised us PVP and Diablo 3 and that was what 12 years ago or something um something like that so I'm already worried that PVP and Diablo 4 will ultimately not not ever drop um because again I just don't think there's going to be it feels like it's already at the point where it's gonna fall really hard out of balance again when you have somebody that's only that's level 30 and they're doing 2 000 damage and then someone that's level 50 and they're doing 20 million damage it's such a hard balance and and if just a couple items can boost you Millions more and all of this or exponential in the ways of the damage it really becomes a difficult just balance piece um so I do I do have questions on that where have you seen damage that goes to tens of millions this was confirmed by endgame beta testers so that was confirmed uh there um like I say I guess the last thing and on a good note again going back to the world boss I did think the world boss was a lot of fun I really like being able to team up with people at that time go over kill the world boss have a lot of great time uh that was a really like nice experience for me and and I really I really enjoyed that so I I I'm very excited to see what other sorts of events if there will be like multiple um you know not even like World bosses but like you can go and kind of join in with people uh and do those sorts of things um I thought that was that was really you know interesting so yeah it definitely has a little bit of an issue potentially just being like stuck with randos on it because it like in hardcore I definitely would never want to just go in with randos to that I feel like I'll have to abort that really really fast they're a loot pinata on a timer I mean I agree I'm not gonna sit here and say it's not just a Time gated like content piece whatever but I'm saying when I played it I had fun you know so to me I felt like I enjoyed uh I enjoyed that right there oh and level scaling that was the last thing I don't know how they fix it I think the level scaling is awful sorry I guess we are ending on a negative I really dislike level scaling but that's you know it it's like I don't know how you fix that I I honestly don't know what you do as a Dev there if you're having this kind of open world piece whatever stuff but it feels really bad when I level up that I get weaker unless I'm always swapping my weapon out and my gear out to better gear but like I level up and go in an area and now I'm a little bit worse that's like you know and a lot of the game is is designed around that being a thing um so I always felt like that was kind of lazy game design a little bit but again I don't know what they're supposed to do if they're going for the for the open world exactly in that way it makes it kind of hard um but then the way they also scaled it with like party members so that like if I was a level 20 and I partied with a level seven and we went in the same dungeon the level seven could be like carrying me through the dungeon I thought that was kind of silly but again it feeds into the overall piece which is and that's not every single spot in every single game because there were a couple spots I think there were three spots there was that one dude who was just level 35 there was that um one boss who was level 12 on the like Quest where he had to carry that it was like dark and you had to carry the thing to the different spots and maybe one other spot where there was a forced level but other than that everything was like a scaling level and so yeah it was like you just bring in a low level and they could just destroy all the content um that's just complaining for the sake of complaining we'll spend most of the coming years in the end game I don't think complaining about the game is like irrelevant oh well the whole game is nothing because the end game is the only piece of it I really hate that that is people's mindset nothing about the game actually matters it's all supposed to just be garbage anyways and it won't be fun because the whole point is to just get to the end game and just go through the end game over and over again you know how many times I've played through Diablo 2's story thousands why because it's actually fun to play through I mean many games are actually very fun to play through a lot of games nowadays unfortunately are falling out of that idea where they're not fun to play through it is just let me get to the end game you know yeah but you wave skip bail when I'm speed running yeah I do obviously people again this is where I think I'm just I'm just out of touch with the kids nowadays plain and simple I'm just I'm just out of touch because it definitely seems like a lot of people nowaday are huge apologists for terrible campaigns boring starts terrible scaling level design and everything because it's just the end game that matters and I'm I think the getting there the journey piece is very important to me as well I didn't think the D4 campaign start was very boring I thought there were pieces and we talked about all about that about like the specific dungeons whatever things um but I thought overall playing through the D4 story was was a decent time for sure if there is no level scaling side quests would be terrible well the point is then you can go back and Crush through certain side quests if you want because now you're powerful when every Zone feels exactly the same because your power is irrelevant your level is irrelevant things stale out for me for me most your complaints seem very small and easily fixed I mean I think there's a whole list of pieces and if they fix up all of those pieces I think this game gets to uh probably an 8 out of 10 for me now why does it not get to a 10 out of 10 because ultimately it's a console game and there's just too many sacrifice a console game that was built on top of Diablo 3's game mechanics and and style you know I don't I don't think I don't think this game can get to 10 out of 10 for me because it's like like I said again going back to the art this could be the most photorealistic beautiful painting whatever but if I'm not someone who likes photorealism it's never 10 out of 10 for me that's never an art piece that I'm buying and putting in my you know my room right that's where you just have those pieces it's diablo 3.5 to me it's a remastered Diablo 3 with great improvements over Diablo 3 where I actually felt like I could enjoy playing it through I'm sure I'll play through Seasons I'm sure I'll play through the Barbarian and have a nice time I'm sure I'll do a plenty with the game but do you know it just overall the type of game that I like it doesn't fully fit into it the type of game that I'll probably put 10 10 000 Plus hours in you know so what do you think about character creation customization Oh I thought that's I mean that's 10 out of 10. it's very beautiful and I love how cool like my Barbarian can look under my characters can look all these things all right let's uh let's end the rant talk there we can keep talking but we'll end the apart for YouTube Ah kisses to all YouTube don't forget to like And subscribe or to comment below you just want Diablo 2 made again peace you guys
