Deuteronomy Chapter 12 Summary and What God Wants From Us

[Music] welcome back to the Bible says what today I will summarize Deuteronomy chapter 12 where Moses explained to the people the laws of the sanctuary Moses taught the people and said you see all the nations around you what they do to worship their so-called gods they worship under every green tree and on every high mountain and Hill on their altars that they make for themselves this is not how you are to act this is not how you are to worship the Lord in fact when you go into all the land you are to seek out these places where the nations worship their gods and you are to totally destroy them tear down their altars smash their sacred pillars and burn their idols with fire you will be different than these people God Himself will tell you where he wants you to go and worship Him you will not do what everyone is doing here today everyone worships any way they please everyone does what is right in their own eyes Moses continued God will choose a place where he wants his name to dwell you will present your tithes and offerings there and you will rejoice before the Lord your God here are some of the rules about that place whenever you are hungry if you want to eat meat you may eat ceremony clean animals only but you must not eat or drink the blood of those animals you must pour out the blood onto the ground like water but as for the tithe the firstborn of your herd or any grain or oil offerings you must not eat them anywhere except in front of the Lord at his sanctuary where he chooses to have his name rest you must make a distinction between the common and the holy also be careful not to forsake the Levite the orphan or the widow now when you go into the promised land you will try to imitate the people there and you'll try to figure out how they worship their gods I am telling you right now you must not do this you must not try to worship the Lord in the same way and they worship their so-called gods they go so far as to sacrifice their own children to their demon gods the Lord of hosts does not want you to do the same thing they do the most important verse in this chapter is Deuteronomy 12 28 which states observe and hear all these words which I command thee that it may go well with thee and with thy children after thee for ever when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God the thing I think the Lord wants us to understand after reading this chapter is that he makes the rules and deems something right or wrong according to his perfect holiness God tells people what he wants from them plainly and they choose to follow him or they choose to go their own way each one of those choices have different consequences are you searching out what God wants from you or are you making up things as you go along why don't you turn to the Lord today he told us all exactly what he wants from us why don't you consider repenting for your sin and turn to the Lord for salvation today Jesus humbled himself and died on a cross as my substitute and your substitute and the father raised Jesus from the dead God said that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and if you believe in your heart that the father raised Jesus from the dead you would be saved why don't you do that right now thanks for watching the Deuteronomy chapter 12 episode if you enjoyed it please share it with someone if you want to join me on this long video journey feel free to subscribe to the channel see you next time [Music]
