hey what's up Chemical Guys family and welcome back to the Chemical Guys detail garage if you guys have been paying close attention to the series you would know that today we're actually covering the detailing flow chart in terms of protecting so on the last episode we showed you guys how to polish your right to Perfection and now we're going to be showing you guys what to do afterwards so we're going to be showing you guys how to apply a ceram coating glazes sealant waxes what order to put them in how to put them and basically everything that you guys need to know about making sure that your investment and your shine lasts much longer and your vehicle is protected against elements so let's go ahead and get started with the first step which is wipe out so right now what we're going to do as you guys saw in the last episode we polished this thing to Perfection but now we need to clean the surface now I know you guys may be asking you know didn't you just polish it shouldn't it be clean already well that is true however we want to make sure that there's absolutely no residual compound or polished residue left on the paintwork and make sure that the paint is completely bare so you guys saw me use this on the last episode actually so I'm just going to go ahead and quickly spray it down it's very easy to use just spray the surface and then grab a microfiber towel and then you're simply just going to wipe it down in straight motions and this is going to help just pick up any remaining oils from compounds or polishes or you know maybe if you didn't do those steps and you just washed your vehicle with clean slate and you plate it this is another great step to just kind of Follow that way you make sure that there's absolutely nothing on your paintwork that's going to interfere with your results so I'm just going to finish buffing this off real quick and the great thing about it is that it leaves like very too little no residue at all so after you finish wiping it off if you did go crazy with it then just go back and wipe off the residue in this case I think I sprayed the perfect amount so there's not really too much going on so I'm swiping out the residue on this side I'll come back over here I'll drop that I'll wipe off the remaining residue on this side and we should be all ready to go and applying our protect then so it's nice and glass smooth now whenever it comes to the detailing flow chart you have a variety of options to go with so you guys will see that in the first one after you do your polishing step you'll see ceramic coating then you'll see glaze sealant and wax so right now is the perfect time to apply ceramic coating and since we did the full nine miles we polished this thing to Perfection we're going to be applying a professional grade ceramic coating like our carbon Force ceramic protective coating system now this right here contains everything that you need to have to professionally ceramic coach your vehicle so we'll open it up now you'll find that there are these micro suede applicators now before you start using them you want to make sure that you pull off the tag so I'm just going to go ahead and pull it off away from the vehicle that way I don't get any kind of lint that lands on there we'll throw that out of the way in the trash there's no trash there I just threw it in the middle of nowhere and then we're going to pull out our bottle of carbon Force so this is your bottle of carbon Force it's extremely tiny but this is a 9h ceramic coating so this right here it hardens and it almost basically creates a sacrificial layer of clear coat on top of your original clear coat so just think of it as kind of like a shield on top of your paint that's going to provide intense shine intense Clarity intense depth and extreme UV protection as well as hydrophobic protection that you guys know and love from The Chemical Guys hydroline Ceramics now only in a professional grade carbon Force product now this product is extremely easy to use all you have to do is simply open it up now a couple things to keep in mind before you start using it now one thing to do or sorry not one thing not to do is simply pour it over and start pouring out to your applicator a professional way of doing this is get your applicator like this put it on top of the spout and then you want to flip it upside down and then you just gently want to just drag the product up and down until your applicator gets nice and saturated with the product you don't have to go too crazy just make sure that your applicator is nice and you know has enough product on that you can spread out flip it back over and then instead of just putting this down to the side I highly recommend that you guys grab your cap and put it back on because what's going to happen and I can only speak about this from personal experience is you're going to put it down on the ground next to your foot and you're going to move and you're going to knock it over and there goes your bottle of carbon Force so definitely don't do that and then now that you're ready to apply carbon Force work in a small section at a time don't try to cover the entire Hood do a small two by two section so I'm going to go ahead and start off with this little area right here now with carbon Force when you apply it you want to apply in straight motions so you want to apply it and then you want to kind of come back overlap and then do the exact same thing and as you guys can see carbon force it actually adds a ton of depth just because you know the liquid that's what it's designed to do it adds a ton of depth and Clarity to this beautiful metallic Sparkle on this Kia we're just going to go left and right don't rush it don't go up and down left and right too fast because you want to make sure that you evenly apply this layer and make sure that you do it in a controlled manner so don't try to stretch the product right now just make sure that you're doing your best in terms of just doing a cross hatch motion and making sure that your layer of carbon force is perfectly layered on the air that you're applying it to so now that you applied it to a certain section now you want to let that sit from anywhere from about 30 seconds to a minute normally what you'll start seeing as it's kind of flashing is you'll start kind of seeing this rainbow effect now whenever you start seeing that rainbow effect that's basically kind of letting you know that it's ready to be wiped off so as opposed to like a traditional wax which kind of hazes up very white this one's not really going to Haze up this one's kind of going to stay the dark color that it is and you'll only really see that rainbow effect until about 30 seconds to a minute now depending on the condition right now I would say we're probably in about room temperature so about 70 degrees now depending if you're on a much colder temperature you might want to let this sit for a little bit longer if you're in a hotter temperature like if you're in a garage space and you're in a 90 degree or 100 degree weather then that's when you can start wiping it off in as little as 30 seconds so now that it's been about I would say about 45 seconds that I've been ranting off I'm going to grab a premium microfiber towel and simply wipe off the residue of carbon Force and then whenever you're wiping this off make sure that you're using towels that you don't that you don't mind disposing of because what happens with this product is as you wipe it off with your towel what's going to happen is if you leave that towel to aerate that the chemical is going to come hard it's going to become like almost glass and if it dries up on your towel the next time that you use that towel on your vehicle if you do use it on your vehicle it could potentially scratch the circular vehicle because you can have very fine shards of basically like the product very crystallized on the towel so make sure that you're using a towel that you don't mind disposing of and yeah that's basically it so that's how easy it is to apply a professional grade ceramic to your vehicle a lot of people think it's very very difficult just because they hear professional ceramic coating night and age hardness to hear all this technical lingo but don't be afraid don't let that deter you from applying something like this to your vehicle I would say and this is my honest opinion the hardest part about applying a professional grade ceramic coating is getting to applying it because applying it's the easiest part it takes more time to wash your vehicle clay it polish it and get into that stage that you want to preserve it in before you apply this that's going to take more time than it is going to be for you to apply some carbon Force so that's how easy it is all this is left to do is to finish applying it so right now what I'm going to do is I'm going to finish applying carbon Force to the hood and then we'll move on to another section where I'll show you guys how to apply a glaze and then we'll elaborate a little bit more in terms of how to layer your products and how I guess the best way of doing it so let me finish this up and we'll be right back with you guys [Music] thank you foreign [Music] foreign [Music] all right so just a quick little recap of applying carbon Force to the hood so we moved to the trunk because right now we're going to apply the Second Step which is a glaze now keep in mind if you don't plan on applying a ceramic coating like carbon force or even like something like hydrostick or anything from a hydroline then you don't have to the beauty about our detailing flowchart is that it's an outline for you to follow that way you know in what order to apply things in if you're going to be applying them such as for example we're today we're showing you guys the full shebang so we're doing ceramic coating we're doing glaze we're doing sealant and wax all in that order but if you don't feel comfortable applying a ceramic coating you don't have to you can actually just go with the glaze sealant wax or in some cases just a sealant or just the wax or maybe you want to do a glaze but not a sealant and a wax it's entirely up to yourself so sew as long as you're going in that path in that direction you're going to be completely fine so sorry just a quick little recap of carbon force a couple things I did forget to mention easy to apply durable ceramic shine and protection that product actually will last you up to five years of credible shine ad protection and another great thing about it is that if you do get any kind of micro swirls in the coating you can actually polish them out with our C4 and P4 combo that we use in the last episode so I think that basically Recaps carbon Force so now we can get into the glaze so a couple things that we're going to be going over here right now you guys saw carbon Force we applied it with our micro suede applicators that product you want to make sure to apply with that intended applicator by hand you don't want to do it by machine because a machine it has a random kind of it doesn't really apply the product in an even manner in the sense that you know the amount of liquid that goes into the pores of the plastic what happens with carbon Force if is if you apply too much in one section you can get a high spa and you'll kind of notice like a little a little spot on your paint that it doesn't really look that good so if it does happen to you don't worry just go back over it with another coat and it should level it out right now I'm going to be showing you guys how to apply a glaze like gloss Works glaze now the reason that you would want to apply a glaze in the first place is because glazes are great ways to enhance your shine so what I mean by that is glazes especially like something like gloss Works they contain micro swirl fillers that could actually temporarily fill in light imperfections like scratches and swirls that's giving your paint much more depth much more clarity and just really giving it an overall higher shine so now that we're done with that sorry now that we're done applying to our pad now I can show you guys how to apply it with the machine so you can apply this by hand as well with the microfiber applicator in this case I'm going to be showing you guys different ways that you can apply these products in such as with the da polisher so we're going to go ahead and blot this out kind of like how we did with the machine sorry the compound and polish and then whenever it comes to applying protectants like glazes sealants or waxes you don't have to go in a high speed setting just speed setting one is more than enough because you're just working this on the paint you're not working it into the pan that's the best way that I can put it for you guys so basically you just want to make sure that it's nice and even and just watch how fast I'm going to apply glaze to this entire trunk I'll see you guys in about five seconds yeah just like that five seconds later if you guys want to be exact might have been anywhere from seven to eight seconds but you guys get what I mean this is basically what you want the product to look like so as you guys can see it has a beautiful hex logic kind of print authorized with their glaze now if you are doing this with the microfiber applicator you might just have like little straight lines don't worry as long as the product is evenly on the surface things should be fine so right now what you actually want to do is allow this to actually cure from anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes depending on the environment in this case we're going to let it sit for about 10 minutes before wiping it off thus giving those micro swirl fillers time to kind of seep into those imperfections like the scratches and swirls that way we achieve the best Bond possible so we're going to let that sit for about 10 minutes and then we'll be right back with you guys to wipe it off [Music] all right guys so now it's been about 10 minutes that the glaze has been sitting on there and flashing now we can grab our microfiber towel and buff it off now one quick and easy way you'll know that your glaze is ready to be buffed off is if you start wiping it and it's very smeary then it still needs time to dry up but right here as you guys can see as I'm wiping it off it wipes off with no residue left behind thus letting us know that it had time enough time to fill in all the micro Swirls and Imperfections that were sitting on the paintwork and as far as towels I'm using one of our happy ending towels these work out great for giving your vehicles that soft ultimate touch you can use any microfiber towel though it doesn't really necessarily matter so as long as the microfiber towel is clean and you're not using a towel that is contaminated then you're gonna get great results but I personally like using these Happy Endings because they're super soft super plush they're edgeless so nothing collects along the borders and it just really gives it that Perfect final touch so now that we're done applying glaze to the trunk we're going to move on to a different area of the vehicle such as the fender and I'm going to show you guys how to apply a sealant by hand so now that we've shown you guys how to apply a glaze with the machine on the trunk now I want to show you guys how to apply a sealant like jet seal to your vehicle now a product like jetseal this product was basically the best thing before Ceramics so the great thing about the product is is that it's a synthetic wax hand sealant now this product was designed to deliver durable protection and a great level of shine so what this product was meant for was for any kind of smooth glossy surface on the exterior vehicle whether it be your paint your headlights your glass your wheels your Chrome tail lights B pillars and so much more jetseal is going to work out great in All Occasions and it's a cream formula so it goes on just like a wax so right here you guys will see I have one of our hand finishing pads which is basically the same pad that I use for the machine only this is in a nice convenient handheld form so I'm going to grab my jetseal now before you use it you want to make sure you shake it up very thoroughly and then you want to apply a couple drops onto your applicator here so we'll do about one two three four then I'll just do a fifth one just in case then we're going to start blotting this out just like as you would a wax and then really the only difference between this and a wax besides the chemical engineering of it is this product actually you want to let it sit kind of like the glaze you want to let it sit for anywhere from about 10 to 15 minutes before you buff it off that way it has enough time to properly bond to the surface and you can go ahead and wipe it off with ease now that's another big thing that I was mentioning to you guys as well when it came to the glaze uh you'll know when to wipe it off whenever you start wiping it with the microfiber towel and it comes out without any kind of streaks if it is getting streaky on you then just give it a little bit more time before you wipe it off so now that we've applied it to the fender we're going to go ahead and let that sit for about 10 minutes and then I'll be right back with you guys to show you guys the results all right so now that we've had the jetsu on the paint for about 10 minutes all you have to do is simply wipe it off and you guys will see it wipes off extremely easy with no residue left behind and that's one of the fun Parts about using a product like this is that you can apply it very quickly very easily very quickly as well with the machine polisher if you're doing it that route or if you prefer more of a hand method you can do it by hand as well and just like that you are completely done layering your products now there is the last part which is a wax now depending on how far you want to go if you actually want to apply and layer a wax on top of this you can do an actual traditional cream wax like butter wet wax or in this case just kind of keep it simple since we've already kind of spent all day on this vehicle ceramic coating it sealing it glazing gear and now waxing it just kind of give it that final cherry on top you can use something like Lucent spray shine which is a synthetic polymer spray wax that goes on very quickly and easily as you guys will see I'll spray right here three sprays you don't need more than that and then since your vehicle is basically super glass smooth at this point this product just wipes in very quickly very easily it provides intense shine it adds to the shine and protection that you currently have from your ceramic Coatings your sealants and your waxes and everything else that you plants will apply to your vehicle does give you that brilliant just crystalline shine and just like that you are completely done giving your vehicle the full shebang so we did part one where we showed you guys how to wash the vehicle with clean slate that was with Henry and then we did part two we clay barred and Polished the paint to Perfection so you guys saw how we removed the scratches and swirls with their C4 and P4 polish and now we just showed you guys today how to layer your protectants from ceramic Coatings glazes sealants and waxes so just quickly recap like I told you guys at the earlier on the glazes whenever it comes to applying these products you don't have to apply every single one of them it's just an outline to for you guys to follow whether if you want to apply all of them or just one or two of them or just one of them you know you decide what you want to get done on your vehicle and that's let me just leave you up to that one so we're basically all done with this Kia it looks incredible it's shiny it's protected and in terms of Maintenance all you really have to do now is just make sure that you're washing with like a pH neutral soap and using some kind of synthetic spray wax or a sealant just kind of maintain the beautiful luster shine and protection so we're going to go ahead and end things off right here so if you guys enjoyed this video make sure to give us a huge like if you haven't done so already make sure you subscribe so that you don't miss out on our future videos and as always if you guys want to pick up any of the products that we mentioned after this video
