Deploying Laravel with Digital Ocean using Laravel Forge: Obtaining FREE SSL in Forge

[Music] now we are ready to create our new site so there's a warning here that says think of site as representing each domain on your server so the default site is included with each freshly provisioned server however you should delete it and create a new site with a valid domain name when you are ready to launch your production site if you need to host additional domains or sub domains you may add them here alright so let's scroll down and this is the site that are being mentioned here so we're gonna delete this delete the site the site is default and then we're going to create our own site instead so i already purchased a domain name from godaddy so we just you can purchase domain name from other domain name websites there and then once you have purchased it you can type it in here so the name of the domain name that i purchased is the property manager that online i don't have any alliances so the project type is laravel and the web directory is public so we're gonna leave it as it is and then because we already have a database created earlier we don't have to do this anymore so let's just add the site and just wait for a few seconds for it to be ready while we think we can open it so inside we can specify the location of our code so our code is stored from github and so we can go there and type the link from github and put it in here but before we do that i i'll just want to show some of the other things here um in the environment section uh we're gonna specify the different configurations here like the the name of the database the name of the user for the database and the different credentials and api that the applications needs in order to do its um pass uh more on that later um q i'm not using this but i think this is essential and then ssl so the ssl is uh it will serve as our protection from um different web attacks so actually in the modern practices ssl is already considered as mandatory so in laravel forge don't you don't have to worry about purchasing an ssl anymore because it is built in so we just need to go here at the ssl um option and then let's click the let's encrypt i'm not sure about this and this one but what i did was this one let's encrypt and then automatically the domain name that i entered earlier will be put in here so the property manager that online and the www.propertymanager.com this is so easy to use because you don't have to do all those configurations anymore just put the domain name that you purchase and then you click the obtained certificate just wait for a few minutes and then it will be ready right it's so easy using laravel forge uh so it's being installed um another option that we can view here are security redirects logs um labs are the information about our application so every time that there are some errors or we are updating the code for our application it will be listed down here the meta is the information about the system where is it uh the tags and then the side domain the addresses so let's go back to the ssl [Music] let's go here and
