Democrats vow to help U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson

Us. House Speaker Mike Johnson is getting support from Democrats and that could help him keep his position. Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green has suggested that she would move forward with an attempt to oust the speaker today, house Democratic leadership announced it will kill that effort during a press conference in DC. Today, the speaker defended his conservative record and then had this to say when asked about the support from the other side of the aisle. I mean, you know, you, you hope you have the support of everyone the entire country. Um But um you know, like I said, I've got to, I've got to do my job and continue to keep my head down. This is a very serious time for the country. Speaker Johnson also defended his need for democratic support to remain in his job and said the priority is having a functioning congress.
