today's guest is an Emmy award-winning drag artist who you may know from RuPaul's Drag Race season three her very successful YouTube show very Delta or maybe you are that sandwich artist from Subway that she is not a fan of it is Delta work how are you doing I'm good thank you for having me I I always love anything that you're doing because it's always so streamlined and pretty and the lighting is good and even before we jumped on you were like nope let's get this light correct it's like oh thank you so much because I don't I don't see it you know what I mean so you have to be around people that can spot that and I love that can I tell you that I always get so nervous about speaking out really yeah I'll be like sitting down and be like oh I look really bad but I don't want to say anything because I feel like it's I don't like stepping on anybody's toes right but then it's like when do you step on somebody's toes well and especially in a setting like this where you know you have people that are they've learned all of this they know all of this and it's not that they're uh you know we but we walk in between that space of not really understanding the technology but understanding the like what is this going to look like on the outer end and how do I look best because sometimes I you know it up so speaking of it up you it up recently because you now have your home I do like congratulations I'm excited it's been a long time coming um it's such a weird thing because I've pretty much spent my well I've spent my entire adult life uh as somebody who's lived in an apartment so one thing that's come to my mind is like um I think when I've ever been like uh sort of like hyper critical about people that are like I'm a I'm a big like I'm a hoe I bake at home or I craft right this I'm healed to that the appeal to that is especially if you have the space for it yes so now my mind like going out I'm like oh my gosh like this we could have this mantle here or we could do this or that and the other thing I've noticed is because I've always lived in an apartment there's always been the one door in and out of the space so when I'm in and the door's locked I think to myself well there could be no one else in here unless I've accounted for my family but now there's french doors that go from the primary bedroom there's a door that goes to the garage like you know I'm like I'm gonna lock the doors am I gonna am I gonna be safe I don't know the noises of this place you know what I mean yes it'll figure itself out and then you you talked about you now have a dining room table right the dying yes the dining room has always been the sewing area it's always been a dedicated sewing area so there's been a a a million different sort of like nicer looking TV trays so when you're like oh cooked dinner because I'm always like somebody who goes out like yeah I got to eat all the time and I love it I love it so much but I I used to enjoy cooking here and there um and I think now that I have like the space for it you know now there's a proper dining room would probably just went out and bought proper uh and you know more dishes than I had before because I didn't need them yes right and now you have the potential of having guests over and having a table being able to use it's just such an exciting time like that's that's what I'm looking forward to I'm looking for the house so like congratulations thank you excited well let's get into your life okay what was it like when you were growing up or I was born uh in the city of Norwalk okay it's like Southeast L.A County so when people say like where is that specifically it's the armpit that connects Orange County Orange County and L.A County okay so it's right there the five the 605 people are like what is over there you're almost to Disneyland that's what I tell people um so that is where I was born and and then when I was around six six or so we moved to San Diego and so we lived in the city of Escondido and my mom was divorced at that time and um was like having a new start and she got with my stepdad after a couple of years and then um we ended up moving back to the city of Norwalk where most of our family is in the adjacent area Norwalk North Orange County I went to high school uh in Norway well in Santa Fe Springs and um yeah that's just where I've been I went to Community College in the area and um that's kind of it I mean I I love living in the suburbs and I think I say that because I've never lived in a big city so for me it's like oh I've only traveled to a big city but you can't really get the full experience for a couple of days just running in and out of a hotel yeah so for me I know the Creature Comforts of suburb living you know what I mean I am definitely I've said to people before I am absolutely like the quintessential fat lazy American I'm so Suburban I'm fine with fancy schmancy being Olive Garden I am fine uh uh you know going having a drive I'm used to a drive-through being open 24 hours at least three in the immediate area thank you I need it that was like very very common when I was in Tennessee he was like you know your 24 hour drive throughs and then once I started moving different places like this doesn't exist everywhere else right we're closing at midnight why right it's my culture it's my culture I mean who knows it's gonna be 1 32 a.m and then you want something right and you need access to a Diet Coke at all times diet I mean that's that's my you know what I bought at 7-Eleven I'm gonna have to feature it soon I was there have you ever been to a swap meet where they sell like flip-flops and they'll have like the massive flip-flop as a joke yes right so I'm inside and I'm filling up a soda and I look up and I thought oh they're advertising new refillable cups because there was a cup that was this big and I realized it was wrapped and it had a skew I pulled it down and I asked the lady is this for real is this for sale she's like that's a hundred ounces and it's ten dollars and she said open up the inside and bring your receipt because the first refill is free I mean this is like level on level of like deals yeah 100 ounces I would like to say that I'm not going to fill it up with a hundred ounces of aspartame so I'm gonna try to fill it up with water exclusively maybe introduce a lemon but yeah you know you're lying how do you know like I feel like you're looking through looking through you because I know in my heart I would never fill it up with water what if I filled it up with ice cream okay what kind would you pick be honest be honest honestly okay I have a few different types of ice cream like if we're doing like a pine Jerry's America and dream I love having a little Waffle cone in there thank you I love having a little caramel little chocolate I love like it's so good um I also used to be obsessed with and I don't there's not really any more Baskin Robbins really anywhere I used to be obsessed with a pralines and cream milkshake okay okay so if you want a Baskin Robbins I'm gonna let you in on a secret there are two maybe less than a mile from one another into Luca Lake there's one by a 7-Eleven where you can get that right next door is that and then up the street as you're going towards that Griffith Park area there's another Standalone I don't know what it is with that area that yeah many people just love Baskin Robbins they love basketballs they're hiding from us they are hiding from yes well when when was the time that you as an individual knew that you were a homosexual I mean I I recently saw a thing where somebody said there exists a picture of each homosexual as a kid when you could tell by looking at the picture that's going to be a homosexual and I was like yes we have those pictures in my family there's one where I was posed in this apartment building that we lived in and I I was doing this I wasn't even in like a western outfit but I was doing this pose with a hand on my hip and then a like this kind of a thing and I don't know why that was that picture has been floating around forever in my family and no one ever commented on that because people in my family don't have conversations about me being a homosexual but they are aware of it they don't hide from it they they talk about like a lot of my like uh quote unquote straight because they're all straight I'm assuming um cousins will just like when I happen upon them at a family gathering they'll just say hey how's show biz which is I think a nice which is a nice a really nice uh way to like sort of reach across especially if you vote because they all work in very very toxic masculine environments where even women in the jobs that they do are just sort of like oh what do you you know what I mean yeah um so I think very young I was always super super um I was super gentle I guess it's a way to okay um and then of course as I was like in high school and stuff I think I I involved myself in a lot of activities in high school that were sort of quote unquote cerebral so I was like uh editor of the school paper and I was president of the drama club and I was things like that where you could um sort of be elevated to a point where you were friends with everybody in all the Realms so like you never really had a problem or I never really had a problem with people that were like on the football team because they were like well you write for the paper yes you're our guy at the paper so we'll be good like we don't have a problem with you and then all the kids that were much much smarter than me were knew that I was also like I wasn't the like I wasn't traveling around for my my brains but I was still in those classes with them right so we're talking about honors or HP I'm sorry AP um Harry Potter Harry Potter classes right Harry Potter Huntington Park classes I think some part classes yeah that's where I went so yeah I think definitely I I think I always I didn't have a word for it I mean I know that in high school my very first sort of celebrity crush well as a kid my celebrity crushes were um John and Ponch from the TV show CHiPs okay so they were on and they were fully like in gear right yes and I recently saw in Palm Springs like maybe within the last couple of years I went into one of the stores that they had like latex CHP uniforms and I was like this is what John and panch needed yes when I was a kid right um and then I remember in high school I think my first crush was Katie Lang because I didn't know about gender expression in that way so all I saw in my mind was what appeared to be this masculine presenting person who was also very like effeminate and like soft like someone my age yeah like a younger person and I thought oh my gosh like what a beautiful like and it still is beautiful and still I'm in love with my I would love to meet Katie Lang someday I know that's probably not going to happen but you never know but so yeah I knew in that time like I was always attracted to um people who I think presented quote unquote differently I always like look at it and I'm like I don't think I necessarily ever had I think it's interesting when people say they had crush on cartoon character I always find that very interesting because I just viewed them as like role models that was what I put it in my head as and then my mom would always get me the the male Barbies like the male like Prince Barbies to make me feel better um but she wouldn't let me play with the girls really yeah how old are you 32. oh that's what your skin is so perfect oh thank you God oh my God put another filter on this is a blanket over the lens it's gonna go fully at it um so you mentioned in some other interviews that you know you're starting drag of course probably happened around Halloween time yeah you know something like that and then you were asked to be in a Designing Women um show and you were asked to be Delta Burke and then that's kind of how Delta worked pretty much yeah pretty much yeah you know back in the day we that's so weird to say that back at the turn of the century when I was you know doing drag um but literally um we used to do a lot more theme shows that was kind of a thing at least in the group that I'm in I'm not saying across the country or the world that people don't do theme shows because there's a ton of theme shows that people do that are wildly successful I have a friend in Louisville um his name's Daniel and he does um thematic brunches okay and we'll break it down even further than just like a disco Branch it'll be like a disco artist and friends or it'll be like Harry Potter or whatever it has been in the past I'm not saying he's doing Harry Potter now but um but you know I don't know Daniel maybe you are um but we used to do a lot of that here in LA and it doesn't happen as much but we used to have more shows that were casts so it would be the same cast at the same bar and so it was easier to do that and at the time when I was coming up um mama was the name of an artist uh here in La who was known for working at the Bob Mackie um ec2 costume store okay so all of Mama's costumes were like built-in bullet boobs like mama was a big presence when you say big and tall I meant like Broad and tall and everything was just like you know when I came up there was a few quote plus entertainers that uh that I would look to so I would look to Mama who was truly camp but it wasn't sloppy camp in the sense of like I'm just gonna throw on anything and my drag is valid it was from head to toe like built with a storyline right um and then I looked at uh there was a Entertainer name um Jasmine and it was interesting because at the time we had Jasmine and Jasmine and Jasmine was like a worked at lacage up on Sunset and but yeah but Jasmine who has an account called Jasmine's world she was like kind of like this plus size um um no Pamela Anderson okay so I have two spectrums that I was looking at and then there was other people like big Lola people called her at the time um there was only a handful you know what I mean so I had to cultivate from that and mama was one of those people who was like uh I would be in contests that she would host and she was like let's find an opportunity for you to cultivate or hone or figure out what it is that you want to do who are you um and and she was very um accepting of this idea that uh you do not have to create a character she was a character but she was like you don't have to create a character you don't have to speak in third person if this is just an expression of you already then it can be that it could just be that and that's how I've sort of always regarded did what I do I hold so much space for people who Express their drag how they express their drag I know people that speak in third person I'll say uh you know is is this yours and they'll say uh if their drag name is Jennifer oh no this is Jennifer's and I'm like maybe that's just how you're able to yourself but for me I've always felt like it was an expression of who I already am and I do think it has just given me carte blanche to maybe say things a little bit more or um step forward a little bit more if that makes sense and I I totally don't understand all the inner workings but I fully accept being part of this um sort of two-spirited I'm sure that exists in a way yes you know what I mean I so I don't know how it exists but I'm sure it exists I'm sure there's levels of it and I think all of this that we do is on some sort of spectrum and it just Falls here and it falls there and I don't know I don't know how to explain it but I know I'm part of it you you are part of it I think that you were also a part of a really big part of and you still are of the California drag scene yeah and um I know that I was reading and there was a lot of people when I asked the fans to ask questions for you okay they wanted to know how are you Coco Peru's drag daughter well this is interesting because uh I was sort of adopted by Coco okay uh and Coco we first started this in a sort of um uh it was at first online because we see things so very very similar okay and I've been doing drag for a long time but Coco was like one of the first icons I ever saw in film when she was in um oh what's the movie I'm already blanking because I'm old um she was a she did like a lip sync and she like comes to the bathroom and she's singing uh uh I Am Woman okay right and the character that she's talking to his name is Gabriel and my name is Gabriel my my given name is Gabriel um which by the way anybody that's listening to that that I just said that it's fine that you have that information it's not a secret but it's really funny when people are like hey Delta hey Delta Gabriel and they'll scream out and you're like no it's like what let's just you know they do it because they want people to go I know you better than all this no you know me because of this yes right yeah they know you because of that and they want to seem Special by saying it right and it's a little bit they do it because they they know it will catch you off guard um but yeah so we start so we were online one time and post we posted a picture we did an event called libal in downtown and it was a beautiful big theater and there's uh maybe I think six entertainers it wasn't big and we posted a picture and she said finally with my daughter Delta work and I was like oh my gosh I love that you said that and we had just stayed in contact and she's you know they say like you never want to meet your idol right because you never know and I've met some of my idols and I've worked with some of my idols and I really had to step back over years and go you're gonna have to separate what you imagined and what you've always revered and what you know because you can still love that you can still love that and uh and Champion that even if you know that and that's Happy with like several several people over the year over the most recent years but Coco was one of those people that was like no I'm this is just the way it is like you have to understand we have these same wants and needs and also I mean we both love wearing a dress from Ross or TJ Maxx we have time for it that's that's a valid drag I think about that like when I'm doing this I was like what do I wear because you know I think it's on Nikki doll or somebody like really done up and I thought I just I really I just don't showcase that way like I I feel like I'm very drawn back almost like I think the first person we saw doing that on drag race was like jujube it was like this is what I wear what was it Mall draft oh yeah the mall drag yeah oh my gosh I'm strip mall drag okay I'm strip mall and I'm fine with it there's a you'll find me there I mean that's that's the way it is so you are making your name in California you are doing Chad Michael's show and I know that I had heard before um when drag race was starting to come around and when there was talks about this thing about to be coming on Logo I know that I've talked to some other girls and they've said that they were kind of scouted out for season one and a lot of the dream girls were right right and that a lot turned down did you turn down for the first season I didn't get that no I didn't I didn't get that uh that uh uh invitation in the beginning but I do remember hearing that conversation happening and at that time um so I came into the Dream Girls Chad at the time the dream rules were was Chad Chad's drag mother Hunter who was also a share impersonator and multiple other people um kiwi uh Fantasia Marilyn and Ladonna these were all the main players and Chad brought me in and I was sort of under his wing and everyone's Wing but but um I I learned about um how to have different facets we had to have funny numbers we had to have um celebrity if you did not have a celebrity look alike or celebrity impersonation you had to have a celebrity assassination which was like take it to another level of like parody um pop music that's on the radio right now an 80s throwback because we would sometimes do four numbers in a show and we were Bam Bam Bam Bam Bishop Briggs so um that's where I was learning that and very quickly became one of the producers of the show so it was like myself Chad at the time um Ladonna and so we would we would produce different locations okay and so we would all be like I'm producing Wednesday you're producing Thursday so Chad afforded me that opportunity um and when drag race was scouting we heard all of that but I didn't know exactly who and um I wasn't a person who would really go out much aside from working I've never really been that person um so I don't think they would be able to I wasn't in their eye line too much it was like go see her at the show and I'm I'm one who packs and I'm out the door I have to because um I feel like if I don't afford everyone there the same amount of time that it's going to feel a little bit shitty like someone's gonna think well I was waiting to talk to you or I wanted to let I wanted to support you as well yes so I feel bad about that but um but you know maybe it was a Saving Grace for me I don't know um but I was not that I did apply for season two I believe no I did not do I did see I only did season three and speaking of Chad when I did all my audition tape uh I we had one day left where we were gonna submit it and they were gonna pick them up at a club called VIP in Riverside okay they used to go like gorilla they would say we're coming to a club bring your tape so crazy yeah so I was gonna do that and all my footage was lost I lost everything and I was in tears and I called Chad and I was like Chad it's I'm not going to be able to do it I don't know what to say he's like what do you mean you're not gonna be able to do it I said I lost everything like I have a little bit of stuff but all of my Runway stuff that they wanted to see costumes and this and that and so I said I don't have any of that and Chad said when are they picking it up I said they're picking it up in two days he's like get your ass to San Diego right now we're clearing out the living room we're going to reshoot everything Adam his partner who used to make a lot of my costumes uh some of which I still have to this day he's like Adam's got stuff that he's been working on with you um we'll get them on we'll pin them on we'll we'll glue them on we'll tape them on whatever we have to do we're getting your tape done and you're getting on the show and sure enough I went I dropped it off and then I got a call and they were like yep and if it was not for Chad I would not have had a tape it was not for Chad and Adam I absolutely would not have had a tape and I would have just given up I am that person I hate that about my personality it's a it's a very serious uh character flaw and that is that I like to tell people that I'm a realist but I know that it virges on fatalist because I've I've had this uh thing in my life where more often than not I've seen Things Fall Apart so I just expect the worst and if anything better than that happens we're gravy it's perfect it should have fallen apart anyway yeah and I hate that because other people come to me and say it doesn't appear that way outwardly you seem positive about things of course in a sardonic sarcastic manner but you seem like things are going great and they are going great but you know I'm an only child I'm a gen xer at 48 years old um I'm an aquarius I have a lot of strikes against me that are like you know what today there was no Diet Coke at the drive-through and I waited in the line for only that and I need to drive my car into the desert until it runs out of gas and then just to start walking into a cave that's where my mind goes but for you it's gonna work out I love that that's where your mind goes because when I go through you know sometimes you go through a drive-through you get a Diet Coke that's like really all that you want and then it's flat oh my God and then I'll literally be like okay where's the nearest fast food place the other one that I can go to yeah that's what I always that that's the moment for me I'm like when a place does not fix their carbonation filter right why now are you do are you just like like a a cola in general or do you have a specific like are you a diet pep okay and then I have like a whole ranking system and how I rank like fountain drink is clearly like the more like up there and then it goes it's normally like Fountain then I can do like the the more beer type cans like the longer ones okay those taste better to me and then we get a two liter bottle then we go to a can a regular can and the last one I do not like I do not like bottles of Diet Coke how come we didn't meet in another life right we should have met what's your system that is pretty accurate that is pretty accurate the thing with the two liter bottle that scares me though is if I don't have ice immediately going and it starts to get warm throw it out or put it in the refrigerator of course but um when something starts to get like I will be at a restaurant right and I will be there like with my partner or my mom or whoever and if somebody's drink is like emptied and they're going to get a refilter like do you want the ice and I'm like yes give me your ice and I'll like dump it in my cup I know it's crazy but I'm like I want the ice it's got to be cold and it's got to be like freezing you can't be no no lukewarm would you rather it be warm and uh highly carbonated or flat and ice cold I think flat nicely see that's what I'm saying because I can get into like when it the ice starts to melt and then like it starts to lighten in color okay I'm fine and that's fine I don't want it but yeah I don't want it but I can drink it's cold yeah yeah I love I love Diet Coke discourse it's it's literally the best thing they say they're getting rid of it again again yeah again they said that it definitely is on the list of carcinogens because of the asparatame and they want to get rid of it entirely and move us to I think Coke Zero Coke Zero is is is tab with a um with a fake label on it I have friends who love love love and I love them and so I just I I try not to argue about it with them because I love them more than I hate uh Coke Zero and so I don't just give me a coke then how about that how about that and but when I do drink like a swig of a regular Coke I'm like if that's all someone has I feel like my body crystallized like I'm like I feel like something's happening and I'm like oh oh like something bad is feels odd right but that's not but it's not above me to eat a piece of cheesecake with a Diet Coke so that's probably worse whatever I don't think so whatever yeah whatever we're here right now this is gonna make it before we croak we're fine at least we have this we have tonight at least we have tonight yeah with the diet coke tonight is what it means to be young that's what they say why what's the name of a song you're only 32 babe is this a baby well speaking speaking of me being a baby before drag race I want to know what the scene was like like the drag scene like when you were performing at clubs and stuff like was it different than what has happened after this drag race phenomenon yeah for sure for sure I think um before like I said there would be like casts at different bars and there would be like sort of a Vibe as you say at each location any dream girl show it was weekly probably the same people who would come at each location they would be their date they would say I'm gonna go with my friends on Tuesdays we're going to rage we're going to see Dream Girls we're gonna have drinks we might go to whatever Zankou Chicken before and that's going to be the thing that's what we're gonna do um the same thing in Long Beach there would be people outside with a with a a roster and they would say all right we're seating Topher Party of Three and they would take them up to they would have their table in fact where I work now I have a show Friday and Saturday at the Executive Suite in Long Beach um the owner of that bar used to be uh they would come as their date there's their couple date on Thursdays to see us up the street at a place called ripples that no longer exists and they eventually bought this bar and then brought some of us in to work at their bar and what's interesting about that is they knew me back when I was in contests so they truly understand my Evolution and can remember when I owned one wig and they knew when I you know barely worn any makeup and I was learning my way um it was there was a time when drag before drag race was definitely um if you went to LA like there was the shows were either like a cast show as we said or there would be like pop-up performances at midnight it would be that kind of thing which was super fun um again a lot more themes now what has happened is because people do get drag on their television on their YouTube on their phone whatever they whatever they want to see it um they are raised around drag race so those people that want to come to a local show will have no problem asking oh I heard you do a show on on Thursday or Friday Saturday who do you have from drag race and you're like oh well actually there's nobody from drag racing the show oh really oh you need to get this person you need to get that person I'll come if you have that person and so what happens is there's a definite uh balance there's a definite fence where it's fans of drag and fans of drag race and they do meet but there are definite camps where there are old school Queens out there and when I say old school Queens I just mean old school gays that are like oh I don't want to watch drag race I don't like it and then there's younger people that are that are raised on drag race that are like I don't like that old track so I can't blame either side yeah I at all whatsoever and I don't want to blame either side um but it it makes it hard for someone like myself who is has has experience before drag race after drag race in front of the camera and behind the camera so I see all of those opinions and I have space for all of those opinions but you know there's times I'll walk out to perform and you know even if it's a small crowd small local crowd I'll walk out the curtain will open and you're waiting for not saying I'm the most devastating thing in the world but you're still waiting for a little recognition so people going like oh or clapping or whatever and they will like look up from their drink like when's the drag race one coming out and you're like first of all I was on drag race and it was a long time ago but but on top of that they're waiting for the Ooh Ah of something else and it's uh it's a little heartbreaking to not be able to provide that when you think I know I'm providing some Excellence here but it's not uh you don't have an appetite for that yes you have an appetite for something else and I wish I could be able to provide that for everyone especially shows that I produce myself for my girls like I want I want my performers to you know I can when I perform at a brunch even even if it's a bad Branch you know you know going into that I'm performing for their party it's their event so sing-alongs and and just something flashy that's plenty gays that come out on a Tuesday night or something you can be a little more cerebral about it you could be referential you could be funny you can go that dialogue is from Real Housewives yes you know but somewhere else they might know that so um I will say also leaving uh you know post drag race there are times when you try to be do those thematic sort of performances with dialogues and people are like they don't get it baby when does padam start come on now give it to us it's true I love the Dom but you know no and I think to one thing that I always notice is that drag race performers great wonderful some are really they can put on an amazing performance others are more known for their looks and stuff sure so when a queen who's on RuPaul's Drag Race is paid so much money and comes out and does a song and maybe they're more of a fashion queen and they're just walking around lip syncing the words and the crowd is going crazy for them and then you can have a local performer that literally is turning out all the tricks they're killing their performance and people bat an eye like it's like what is this like and I always find that very intriguing to me because like I can be at a brunch show on Sunday with just all local girls and I'm living my life because they're turning it out right we may not know their name on television but at the end of the day they're pulling out a performance whereas other times it's like oh we pay this person five thousand dollars they came they did a song and they left that's what just always like go through my head it's like some of these local performers can kill it oh most of them yeah and you know too I think um because we have seen a lip sync for your life that usually uh is your whole goal is to draw the attention of the panel right yeah so they want to see the uh the theatrics and the histrionics they want to see all of it happening at one time um what happens is that like I'll I've even had somebody recently who's from my own neighborhood that I that is familiar with me and familiar with my friends commented on a completely unrelated post this person should be called Delta no work because she doesn't know her lyrics and she doesn't dance and she doesn't do this that and the other and I thought about it and I reposted it I posted his name and I tagged him I said I know you wanted this attention so I want you to have it before I block you and I want you to know that you're right I don't dance at all and uh I don't particularly look like anyone but what you must understand is that you're not allowed to have an expectation of what art I provide you just should have an expectation expectation of what you want to appreciate you don't like what I'm doing that is so acceptable that is a hundred percent acceptable but for you to assume that every drag Entertainer if you don't come out here and scuff up your boots and you're not pounding on the ground and you don't jump in the swimming pool you're not serving Me performance really so if somebody does a ballet performance and somebody does a hip-hop performance as a professional dancer one is more valid than the other they're both danced yeah and I'm sure and of course these are always coming from people that are like spread love and positivity you're like oh Jesus you always look and you see little little like uh quote and their little bio or something that's in another font yeah not the other font that's all you always know no um I I want to get into a little bit about your time on drag race not like too much but I know that you you were on there you were with the Heathers do you ever regret any of the Heather stuff did you get backlash for that I got a lot of backlash for that I still get backlash to this day the backlash doesn't come from anyone protecting who they believe to be the boogers or anything like that it doesn't come from that the backlash comes from the place that it's always come from and that is from a place where people do not like there's a huge chunk of people that don't like fat people people of color people who don't look like them or people who do not look like their other friends that they admire um speaking out they love fat people in a cage they love fat people who are jovial who look like Santa Claus who do all of that so what happens is they come to me even to this day what 12 years later with messages like yes you look I love X Y and Z but and here comes the qualifier you were so mean to this person on drag race and I always think to myself I could watch Dragway dragways dragways I could watch drag race and I could rewind it and go back and say where's the unsolicited advice I was giving see that where is the where was I answering um questions that weren't asked I was answering questions and you all were see none of these people would approach Carmen Carrera with the or Manila or Raja because they have respect for them because they are the I the archetypes of beauty they are what they want to be themselves they don't want to be me you know when I was on the show itself I can remember in our exercise um uh challenge Susan Powter was there as a judge and she said look at yourself in the mirror nobody wants to look like you in real life and I remember her saying that I don't know if I'd ever made it to the cut but I remember everyone going oh what the and I just thought to myself wow you are a fitness Guru this must be how you encourage people this might be why you showed up here in a primered van and your kids eating from Craft Services yeah just saying like I'm not trying to go there but I'll go there now um so people yeah they hold me responsible for it but they don't hold what they deem the Heathers did yeah they don't hold the other girls responsible for that William and I have this conversation the other day and Willem said people will come to you or come to me crazy because they know that we'll respond to them they won't come to Alaska and they won't come to Raja our seeming counterparts because they know that they will not engage with them and uh quite honestly they probably have a little more respect for them because they think well they're better than you guys so weird it's very weird and like looking at it it's like it's just a TV show and I think that you all were so real in season three and now we're on season 15 16 and it's nobody's real anymore everybody's playing a role everybody doesn't want to do something so bad because they're going to be affected by social media and I think that we really lose the personalities of these girls now yeah well and I can remember like our Heathers like our Heather's banter came out of nowhere and it was like a uh like uh it felt like a one day thing and it happened a couple of instances in a day and then it happened another day but you know with the power of having to crop down just the best parts of the show the parts that people want to see I get how that works you know I will always Stand My Ground that nobody on drag race forced me to say anything there was no producer no executive producer no RuPaul that said you need to say these things however they did say to us only the most interesting things will make it to the final cut because we are filming 14 hours this day 14 hours this day and we're editing it down to under an hour of content so if you don't realize that you are not just a contestant but a cast member you're not going to last long you know I I also I mean it sounds up people will and anytime I give an opinion people are like it's because you're bitter and I'm like I don't think it's because I'm bitter I think I'm aware like I've been I've received a lot for not for not winning this show I've I have a lot to be proud of and a lot to be thankful for I'm not bitter for any of it um winning the show is is more than anything I mean yes it's financially wonderful but that's a massive burden for people who win um so maybe I'm lucky for not but uh where I was going with this was when they'll bring up a controversy with somebody so they'll say oh the boogers you're not friends with this person or that how do you feel about look what they've done now yes look what they done now look at Shangela on top of the world where she deserves to she came into something not knowing that much about drag but having a desire having a want a need and saying I'm gonna do something with this because more than knowing how to put on eyelashes uh better than somebody else or this or that she has personality yes and people people love somebody that they can connect with and when Shangela like I think it was during the pandemic I was looking at her as like she was like a spokesperson for a luxury car and I'm like yeah I don't know if you have a driver's license but I mean no I'm just you know what I mean I'm just saying like look at that look at that and then look look at look at what you what I have or somebody else has you know I I don't have that so is but people are like oh so you must be jealous or mad why be jealous or mad why there's something for everybody there really is in different ways in different ways yeah and I think at the same time too it's like you have these different ways you have different talents that you all are so great in and it's just like what is Showcase you know sometimes also like you said like edit wise you things may not be showcased with you girls that actually are great and wonderful and you should be proud of each other and what one person gets over another person may not even be the trajectory you want right you may not want to have be the luxury car salesman you know right you may want to be the diet cokesperson why not I would love that that would be fun it would you know what the other day sometimes I see people it'll pop up that a big account is following you and then all of a sudden um you like I you think like why are they following me like what is it there's a company called big fig mattress okay they're known for uh are you a plus-sized person we're gonna make a sturdier mattress and they're like all over Tick Tock and Instagram and it's a big thing and I have friends or people that I follow uh my friend Tess holiday she is uh someone who's like a spokesperson for them I believe um Zach Miko who's like a A plus a big and tall male model he's a spokesperson so they followed me and I was like wait maybe like maybe they want me to be their dragspost person for Pride or like who knows I want a free mattress I'm down for it and so I went back and I was like let me go follow them and then it was like they're not following you so I was like oh but you all were following me and then now you're not following me now I look like the fool they did it because they wanted you to buy a mattress you know what I I'm gonna tell you what it was they saw pictures of me and they were like she's not big enough you're too small I'm too small to be your spokesperson that's why you unfollowed me hey I mean that's your fault not mine yeah yeah there is a rumor it's true that your exit interview you actually said when asked who is the shadiest that it was RuPaul oh yeah true oh of course is that not on the episode no oh really no I said that okay yeah I don't I would assume that that was still on there no apparently it was not I don't yeah I don't remember and I went through it and then you know what's funny is I said that uh I said that what now 12 years ago only to find out uh like I don't know just five years ago or so that I was able to validate that I was able to validate it it wasn't not just a rumor but like then people could see the experience and go oh well you're right she is the shadiest well let's let's speak speak on that drama just a little bit um you you were RuPaul's personal hair stylist from season nine to about 11. yeah um Big Gig big opportunity yeah um how did you learn about that opportunity how did it come to you it came to me through one of the who is now I think an executive producer but at the time I think was like maybe an associate producer something like that a friend who worked on the show who I had been friends with for a very long time um to the point that I like performed at his wedding uh in Palm Springs and that kind of thing we had a really good really good friendship and came to me and said we're in a situation we are just a couple episodes into filming this particular season we uh have had a discussion and we need you to come in to work behind the scenes we're still settling everything can you make it this is the date and told me some of the intricacies like trusted me with why that was happening and of course I knew at that point like this means that I am going in place of Matthew Anderson to do a port one of the two jobs that Matthew did because Matthew was of course would uh not just do RuPaul's makeup but also wigs and styling all of those things in one best friends forever from my understanding um and when I went into it I didn't know who the makeup artist would be so I remember seeing a call sheet that we got and I saw the name of the makeup artist and I knew like obviously their given name and I just texted and I was like are you going to be the same place I'm going to be tomorrow and they were like yes I didn't know it was going to be you what are we gonna do and we're like we don't know we're gonna figure it out when we get there so getting there and understanding like um we were going right into an episode like there was no like conversations about what's got what's to be expected really we're just gonna learn as we go so my directive was just keep it off my face just keep it big off my face cheat it for camera that's where we're gonna go and then we'll move on from there so that was my directive there were tubs of wigs and I was like what do we use and I you know got friendly with um uh Ruby's assistant she was like this is what we have used these are some newer pieces so in my mind it was like okay this is what we're working on does this look okay yes let's do that I said okay while we while I'm doing that and while this is waiting I'll start prepping some other stuff just to see in my mind I thought there was going to be like a try on like let's try stuff on and see I learned that that is not the case or was not going to be the case with me um and so moving along we would ask for notes what are some notes what do we need what do we need to understand and after that first season watching um you know we thought every day that we were going in like we're killing it like this is it like this there's no like we couldn't do better and then when we saw it we were like what just happened like what like why are there eyelashes like why why is this like this yeah like we didn't understand because we were learning what it was to have this monitor in this camera and what she wanted and the fact that we also don't have a personal relationship with this person so how do you say to them no girl take that off you're putting this on and we're gonna try this or I need you to put this on or I need you to stand still I need these things from you instead it was is that okay can we do that and you know this is a person who is not just a drag queen but the queen of drag and has been used to one person always working with that person so now these two people that are being entrusted with this um it was interesting so moving into the next season I felt like we had our our uh our wings a little bit you know going and we started working uh took us with her to the UK to do um to shoot the uh Pirelli calendar which is like a huge thing we did that we did some commercials for a t or T-Mobile did a few things and then as things were moving into the uh uh of course the first season we were nominated but then that nomination was rescinded and it was simply because of a technical error which was you have to appear on all call sheets and we came in two episodes in totally get it not a big deal um but we were asked to keep quiet about that because for obvious reasons it wasn't really the more you talk about it the more rumors come from it so we were asked to keep quiet and I did my best to this was before I was on an Instagram live person or any of that so there was no I'm about to go off like none of that was happening I was like I love my job I want to be respectful I ain't saying so I didn't and um you know other people chose to do different things with with that information and that's cool um but um I stayed quiet we moved into the next season next season I got nominated won the award was very very excited about that I I think there was an issue with my I know this is like wasn't the main issue but there was a side issue with the fact that in my acceptance speech I dedicated the award to Matthew Anderson who paved the way for us to even be standing there and I think the fact that Matthew had been sort of um um by the by the production company as something that we just kind of don't talk about publicly I think maybe I overstepped by saying that in their eyes and I wasn't trying to do that because I don't think that he's owned by that company I think he has paved the way for a lot of people we've seen him in Gwen Stefani no doubt videos Janet Jackson videos he knows drag before any of us know really about putting together drag so the finally as we um they moved on to um Ruby is red hot what is the uh the queen um we were moving into that and I uh was told oh Rue said oh my new character is going to have all red wigs I need you to order red wigs so I said okay let's do that so we picked out some stuff and we were moving into that and then they were like you're gonna have to sign on to be with the production the entire time and I said okay well what days is she in Drag and it was a storyline of there's only going to be a couple of days in Drag and I'm like okay well then I can be there for those couple of days in drag but I have to make my money otherwise yeah and the idea was you need to become part of the Union in order to be part of this show and while you're at this show you will be doing hair on Extras and I said I don't do hair on Extras I do hair for the star of the show and then I'm done and I'm not trying to be up but I'm already in my like mid-40s I know what I want yeah Dolly Parton said design refine and shine I'm here to shine I'm not designing and I'm certainly not going to have people who don't know what I do telling me how to do it the reason that I'm here in general is because you called me and the reason you called me isn't because I'm the best at what I do it's because I'm the best at keeping my mouth shut they were not hiring a new hairdresser and a new makeup artist for RuPaul they were hiring a new best friend for RuPaul and that's what they needed and anybody could do the work worse or better than I could but they knew that I'm not at the time anyway wasn't going to go off they knew when all of these things happened uh it wasn't going to be an issue so moving into uh AJ and the queen she brought in an amazing hairdresser that tons of Queens have worked with before and has a huge list of accomplishments in the industry Perfect Fit RuPaul look gorgeous I over I've always said there is it only takes this much to Rupaul for RuPaul to look off and it only takes this much for her to look great yeah and a lot of people are capable of that especially now so I didn't do AJ and the Queen and I sent Rue a message and I said hey I know you're busy just want to know what to look forward to as we're moving into the first UK and the message she sent back after a while was KD AJ has me busy working with Curtis from now on let you know if I ever have extra work and that was it and I thought I've traveled the world with you um I've shot commercials with you I was there for you as the person who um was gonna keep their mouth shut you've written two books and that's all you could write to me thanks thank you and that's when I realized I can always have respect for the image of the supermodel and I always will but I question the ethics of a person like that and I question the ethics of a person who you know during the pandemic uh said oh it's too hard so I need to get rid of my social media you know I just I'm always going to hold that and then of course all trickle down to its final thing when um I was nominated again for an Emmy but I was no longer working with a production company so because of that my name wasn't put forward so I even though I was on every call sheet again and would have had my second Emmy and the show won an Emmy for hair styling I wasn't put on the Emmy and I wasn't allowed to go to the ceremony I mean I even approached the academy the president of the Academy I was sending letters I was campaigning petitioning to say I am now a full-fledged member of the Academy I I am but what's the deal and the reality is the production company can put on or remove anyone they want from the award that's crazy so they were within their rights they didn't do something that's not within their rights they did do something that wasn't ethical yes they were so uncomfortable with me being in that room that they were not going to have me be on that award so when people say like oh you've known you've you've you have an Emmy and in my mind I'm like no I'm a three-time nominee and two-time winner mm-hmm yeah and I also have a VMA that Taylor Swift gave me but I'm just saying well well you were you were just talking about you know world of Wonder and you know on any YouTube video about the whole situation you commented here you said there are so many layers to this but people aren't prepared for that because it discredits a company that has not done them wrong and brings so much joy by showcasing beautiful drag entertainers there always has to be collateral damage and that's me yeah for sure it doesn't matter because people realize you know if this happened to what I call the 10 if this happened to a name that everyone loves nobody dislikes everyone loves if this happened to Alyssa Edwards oh this would be a problem if this happened to uh you know any of the names that are standouts or top threes it would be an issue but there is a little Camp of people um a Willem uh a pearl myself um Fifi O'Hara Tyra Sanchez a million different people King Sanchez um who people say you're not grateful for what was given to you you're too mouthy um you pop off too much you think you're better than everybody I don't I don't want more than everybody I want what I earned he brought me in asked me to keep my mouth shut told me to comb wigs until they were off of her face uh when I said notes they said just keep doing what you're doing when I offered up wigs it was like no that's not it if you didn't like me personally that's okay you can say we do not think this is a fit and you have to go that is so fine that's how the world works right that's how the world works so uh you know I've worked in retail for a very long time that's why I'm so hypocritical about retail or customer service I think it is a difficult one of the worst jobs but it can be one of the best jobs because you can turn people's opinions around immediately um you your job as a Storyteller like you pull stories out of people and you do that so well because um you're interested and you're interesting yeah and so people want to talk to you um with that said I felt like that's all they had to say and then with this back end it was their responsibility to go oh this is going to be uncomfortable she's going to be there but you know what we're about integrity she did do the work her name was on every call sheet she's got to have the award and why not let one of our Alum shine yeah because this is the thing all RuPaul has to do is sit back and go look at my girl uh Alyssa over here with her makeup palette isn't that a sickening I did that look at my Trixie Mattel I did that look at kimchi inside CVS I did that look at laganja spreading stories all over the world and interviewing all these people I did that why wouldn't the why wouldn't the arrogance that we already know want to lay claim to that why wouldn't it want to do that instead of shying away from it she could have still everyone would have still said wow look what RuPaul did for Delta yeah I could have run around and been like look at my award I'm so happy and I am happy and I am proud of it but the company still would have been shining instead it was up and it was mean and it was mean-spirited it was mean-spirited I will say to you I haven't talked about this publicly so I will say it here on this um I two years ago I was working um at the launch of Paramount Plus I was given the opportunity of social producing RuPaul's Drag Race All Star sets very excited I was beyond I was like you know this is exactly where my trajectory and I'm feeling like this is great I'm actually going to be working with the show right um I got this job I was very excited I get a call from HR and HR says to me you can no longer work for Paramount plus because um we got some calls from World of Wonder and you interview drag queens and we are not okay with that and it is a conflict of interest because they are talking about the production company and they said you can either work for Paramount plus you'll never work for drag race or and the only way you can do that is if you delete everything you've ever put on YouTube wow or you can walk out the door right now in case say goodbye and keep all your stuff right and that I said I'm gonna keep all my stuff yeah so then at dragcon I I had a booth uh last year and I had Queens come through and interviewed the queens and somebody from World of Wonder came over and they said I would like to apologize to you you weren't the Joseph Shepherd that everybody thought you were we had a Joseph Shepard who worked at World of Wonder years and years ago who stole content ideas from us that's why you were fired wow just zero research zero research zero nothing that doesn't matter and so some lateral damage when you girls talk about these stories I see it I see the other side of it because I lived on the other side of it like ironically so I guess did they contact you afterwards did you hear you haven't heard anything from nothing remember world of Wonder after nothing nothing and I've been like uh since then I think I've been to one drag con um I love dragcon I really do um it lost its Sparkle a little bit for me personally just because there are eyes on you there when you do when you do have a Target on your head and when you see when you it's inevitable that you're gonna run into people and they're gonna see you and they kind of and they don't know how to walk away from you and it's like I get it like even with you know working in the environment um with myself and you know I became friends with some of the other makeup artists that would work on guests and stuff um this is their job they had no they had no say-so in this decision they are not part of that the same way I'm no part of their thing so some of them I've been able to still maintain friendships with because I know they've got to feed their families and I'm not asking them to pick a side there really isn't a side it's the fact that this organization had some collateral damage and honestly the reason they didn't contact me they're not interested in their mind this doesn't even exist yes I don't really exist to them and that's okay um I have to accept that and understand that but there are people that I knew like going into the project in the Glam team where I thought we've known each other forever and I learned some something went into effect for me that I learned that I always thought was just a thing about other people I never thought it would happen in my close friends and as a statement of oh I saw you but I don't see you and that broke my heart it broke my heart because um you would think I mean I've been in situations where I've been up for a gig and several several of my friends have done this gig before and then they kind of weed it out and they're like well we're only using a couple of you now it's not my friend's fault yeah I'm happy they're working I wish I could be there but I'm not going to be there that's okay we'll live but when you realize it's someone you've known for a long time and it trickles down with other friends and I've watched some of those friendships sort of dissipate in different ways it's sad it's sad especially when you feel like you're outside of a fence hanging on going I could slip right back into that position and we could all be doing this together and we could be learning together and growing together and and instead of everything being off the head it could be like this so we could have updos and we could do all that but you didn't want me to be there why didn't you just say that to me just say it I'm grown yeah I'm grown I'm doing okay I'm doing okay I found a niche for myself I'm loving it I'm still traveling I'm still doing the things that I want to do on my standards um you know even after doing that I've been able to work with some celebrity clients including Martha Stewart you know like that's been fun who's a you know a major Halloween person she loves it and you know there's a million stories behind that too for part two I mean um we're getting where did I get off this topic I'm gonna get into your amazing uh YouTube and podcast show but I do want to know there was one question have you rekindled a relationship with Raven I haven't spoken to Raven since um [Music] since the Emmys the year that I won that was the last time I yeah we share a lot of the same friends that we all grew up together sort of and um uh we don't uh I don't think that there's I don't think there's a fractured friendship yeah I think there is a reality to people who see you but don't see you and I understand that I'm one of those people that that is not really seen and that's another tough part just in for life in general for me is when you overestimate your importance to someone and that's sad that that is the fool to me like I do feel like the fool in many ways um but I'm fine with it and I don't I I don't I don't fault myself for putting my heart on the line I think it's okay to say even if you wouldn't have done it for me I still would have done it for you just because I care for you that much and there are friends around us who have who still socialize and they have all still great relationships with her and I'm glad to hear it and I know she's doing wildly successful and that's a great thing I think you know RuPaul looks amazing and that's a a testament to that work I can remember where Raven was working at the math counter and was always a RuPaul fan and um she's part of a major part of uh the history of drag and I love that I wish I could have been along but I'm glad I learned what I learned when I learned it because I think there would have been a bigger Fall From Grace if I had not known well on that note let's take a break and then let's get back into um very Delta yes we are back it's exposed I'm with Delta work now we've been chit chatting about everything about your life and one of my favorite things that you do is every Sunday at midnight you put out an episode of very Delta yeah it's so fun literally I loved seeing the trajectory of the show you started this show during I guess it technically was still a pandemic because it was like All-Stars 70 um Raja ends up you know going on there kind of like buried that ended up you know like turning into a very Delta situation and it took off yeah yeah you know with Raja with with very that it was like a fun thing I enjoyed it I think it was I think it was very Niche yeah for sure and I think it resonated with a lot of people but I have always known my my personality in raja's personality is that Raja um Raja has a lot of irons and a lot of fires so Raja likes doing a lot of different things she likes crafting things she likes making things sewing and she's an expert at all of those things but would never tell anyone that um and I something told me that very that wasn't going to be a forever project for Raja but I was fine with how long however long that was gonna run yeah fortunately there's people that know podcasting and this whole thing better than I do and we're like hey you realize that this could maybe be something else so while she's gone let's do very Delta let's just it'll just be a fill-in and that's what I thought it was so I was you know like hey I have some friends that work in other parts of the entertainment industry that could be a good fit for this um uh so we did that and then it just started resonating with people and the interesting thing is I constantly feel um at least for the first year of episodes I have felt like people are I'm sort of cheating people because all I'm really doing in that that beginning uh extemporaneous sort of talk it's just talking about the things that have been irritating me and I feel like I mean that's sort of my superhero power is to be able to pontificate about the tiniest um people always say oh there's bigger fish to fry as I say we fry the little fish here these are the problems that is a very good way of saying that yeah so that's like nobody wants to fry them but I do and it doesn't help anybody there really are bigger problems in the world I know it but for that 10 minutes it's a moment where those little things that get on all of our nerves I feel like we're able to just like talk about those things and um I have no solution because if I had the solution for it then you know again that thing of like being a fatalist and not a realist a realist would say all right there's no Diet Coke drink some water and then leave but the fatalist says what I'm gonna do well I was expecting Diet Coke so there's that um and then the interview portion you know and again initially it was like people I know but how do I share what I know about them with other people and then it was like meeting other people I think like what you do with um introducing these drag personalities to other people even in just this interview alone there's uh gonna be a point where people are like well I wanted to hear more about that yes and the perfect part is if they if uh say the conversation was on very Delta and the Very Delta conversation was only around fast food let's pray that person makes their way to an interview with Joseph Shepard who can bullet point some things that everyone wanted to know about exactly didn't hear about someone exactly and they can hear about somewhere else because you can pull out of people what I can't I just can't but I might be able to have these tiny fish fries about where you're like why are surprising fish about that what who cares you know what I mean but people care because they want to hear all the conversations yeah I think I love it I want to read something you you had um an art article that came out shortly after you were on drag race okay so what 12 years ago yeah and the interviewer asked you what you were looking to get out of the show professionally you responded that you were getting asked to do a show by fans you said I can totally see Delta work doing a cooking show and logo and I thought that would be pretty interesting I always had a passion for journalism so that could be interesting my dream job was to be a foreign correspondent so I wanted to be like Cristiano and I wanted to be in other countries I wanted to be like in the field I wanted to be reporting these stories and sharing all of that and then eventually I was like no I want to be an anchor I want to be a nightly anchor so it made sense when we did like the qnn it was my favorite Challenge and I remember thinking like oh my God I get to wear the Marshalls Dress and the I think I might have originated at least on drag race a Karen wig in that um so you know it feels good I like it I like it I I'd love to see more I mean I'd love to I'd love for this to see men we always say like I'm very like no well there's very that there's very Delta what else I said oh we should have an exercise show called very fat hey suicide show we just bring in exercise people Fitness people and then we try out I like that that's what it's called it's called very fat very fat yeah well we can't bring Susan powder because she's a no and she's yeah no she's gross no well as we're closing all this out I have fan questions for you so let's do a little speed round quick fire if there was a fire and you could only save one perfume which perfume bottle would you save I would save um youth due by Estee Lauder you know what somebody actually said that in the comments yes I would take I would take that um would you ever do a very Delta podcast tour 100 that's what I want to do I my problem is that I don't have a manager and so I need a management team that's willing to take their cut and spell it all out for me the people that have those contacts already I have had Management in the past but this is something I think that could be yes could be done and it can be done very easily I literally have like a syllabus lined up for how that hour show goes like I've written it out um and it's very very easy and I think the format lends itself to to a lot of people wanting to buy tickets for it I just yeah a lot of people would they would want to see a lot of different people but it features a person from each area as the guest smart a mover and shaker from your area and then a couple of pop-up performances a meet and greet it's cute I love it I think you would enjoy it so much why were you asked to be a driver in all-stars one but not compete the thing is the people that produce the show they see Star Quality in different people and I get it like I understand that aspect I don't feel shade in it at all when someone's not asked to do something they have to figure out where can we use you as the star are you going to be in Vegas or are you going to be on tour are you going to be doing commercials for us or are you going to be you know what is it that you do I think they they're very wise about that for sure yeah who are your dream guests for very Delta dream guests uh Katie Lang for sure I would love to have Katie laying on um I would love to have Delta Burke on ooh that'd be great yeah I got to meet Delta Burke one time and she knew who I already was because she had friends gays and Palm Springs that made me happy Jacqueline Smith Cindy Crawford um Gloria Estefan um oh my gosh I could keep going but those are some of them do you have a banned list do you have a blacklist the people that you'll never have on hmm I don't think so no I can't think of anybody that I wouldn't want to have on just because I really will say that I do 100 feel like all the girls that I know from drag race don't have a problem with me I don't I don't I don't have I don't have bad blood with people I have people that I'm on the outs with for sure but I don't have bad blood where I'm like if I saw you I would start a fist fight I don't have that I have people that have broken my heart uh friends and I have people that um have a completely different view of life and that's just the way it's gonna have to be but nobody that I that I I mean probably maybe Donald Trump yeah I don't want Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis no if you had to have sex with Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis Rhonda Santos is not that bad you know he's not that bad looking no I feel like it would have to be Rhonda Santos yeah yeah maybe like time up into sleep when you're done right I'm imagining all of this last fan question when styling wigs do you prefer styling synthetic or do you prefer styling um natural hair synthetic wigs and synthetic wigs that are old okay 100 better because they get all roughed up already but a new wig you tease and you tease and it's just like it doesn't want to do anything and human wigs uh I I like doing a human wig but the whole concept of a human wig is to look realistic and so that just goes into like a simple beauty look which in its its ways its own way is very hard to do but um if you have no expectation that somebody's like just Jack it as big as you can oh well let's go off let's go off yeah well Delta thank you for going off with me today so great having you you're so easy to talk to oh you're so easy to talk to I'm like oh you're every single time I watch your show it's just a full conversation so thank you for coming on and chatting um my last question for you is is there words of wisdom that you have for our beautiful lgbtqia plus Community yeah I I think there is I I think that you have to absolutely fry the small fish I mean I I think you have to set your expectations and they have to be though still realistic right we're in a really really scary time and we all especially as we've just come out of pride month but for us you know Pride celebrations really happen all the way till November so there's still going to be pop-ups and we're still going to hear walk into stores and see little pride setups and that kind of a thing and we want to still be loud and proud for the moment we have to um realize that our safety is really really Paramount and just because you want to like walk into a space and go I'm proud and you really have to gauge like is how important is this message and that who are you preaching it to right uh having your booty cheeks out and screaming at the top of your lungs inside of a church during church services like I get it I agree with your message but you're preaching to the wrong choir you're preaching you're not preaching to anybody nobody here is here to hear that right that's not the space for that although it should be we shouldn't have to keep preaching that we want to be treated uh fairly and equally we shouldn't have to do that we are still doing that we're going to continue to do that but what I mean by all of this is really have your faculties about you really literally realize who's walking behind you what store you're going into where you're spending your money um what's going to happen if you stand up at the dinner table and tell your family this is how I feel about X Y and Z when there's nobody else in there to protect you you know anything can happen I mean people people go missing it's scary he's just heard about this poor kid that's been missing and living with his mom this whole time and they're people that will control you I mean I know that sounds crazy because I'm a true crime person but I'm saying it's I I'm saying it because it happens it happens and you have to be aware of everything around you at all times you really do you do especially especially in this day and age and you have to know listen if you go in and there's no Diet Coke there's going to be a problem exactly it'll go missing that's on them not me yeah yeah then what's next for you what are you coming down the pipeline uh coming down the pipeline um again really working on this idea of a tour okay it's a really really I think I really believe it is not just possible but probable and I think it's one of the easier things than some of the the things that people take on what I need though is someone who says I'm well versed in doing this this is something that I could make money off of you could make money off of and other people that that want to connect with you and want to make that human connection can have happen I I I'd like to see that take off I believe that you know what I mean I think there's a a place for it that's happening um uh working of course on very Delta is we're going into its now second year I'm also have a podcast um on the um uh Sony podcast Network and it's called Fierce rivalries with myself and Kelsey Padgett and we um are just all we do is we talk about uh historical rivalries Between Coke and Pepsi uh Betty Davis and Joan Collins she probably had a problem with her yeah it probably did but you know so it's just different games and or or places um I love that podcast uh I I really I'm trying to find a place where I can get um very Delta people on board with that as well because you know we always want people to realize that it's more conversations right exactly so if you get a chance to to listen to that podcast it's a lot of fun it's Audio Only okay um and I'd like to I'd like to see that go I my here's here's an end game I know we're going along because I talk too much and end game is to really have my own not as a replacement for the podcast in addition to a true crime podcast that I host where I tell the stories of a lot of different things I don't want to go too far into because one of you is gonna steal this idea and then I'm not gonna have and then you're gonna win your Emmy for it my name's not to be on the thing you're gonna be mad at RuPaul and then we'll be pissed and they're gonna be Diet Coke and I'll be with Joseph thinking about Joseph and Ron DeSantis anyway I love True Crime so much you know we we talked about earlier how like listening to the podcast I have a hard time listening to my own voice because I know how grading it is and so I don't know why people listen to it maybe that's why they don't mind looking at it because maybe my you know I was supposed to be born rich but I was born way too beautiful and so what happens is they're able to look at me on YouTube and go this softens the blow of your voice you're so beautiful you know what I mean hair off the face look yeah see and it it's makes it not so bad when they hear my voice yeah so anyway I would like to have a true crime podcast is what I'm getting at I think we should make it happen guys we need we need to start it we need to make it get into existence speaking of it you did you spoke a lot of things into existence 12 years ago and they happened here we are so here we are and let's do it again thank you so much for being here so excited I'm Joseph Shepard this is the fabulous Delta work until next time thank you guys so much for watching and be sure to check out Delta every Sunday for very Delta at midnight technically midnight on Monday but I guess it's however you want to say that yeah until next time bye guys
