Delphi Programming Tutorial #32 - Dockable Forms

hello and welcome this is El Estor Christi and today I'm going to be introducing you to Dhaka ball forms bed stad by creating a VCR forms application and I want to add another form to it this form is more we want to set it drag it kind to dock and drag mode to automatic and in its constructor I'm going to give it a random color and see this caption to that color and on the forum I'm going to check a bit button kind of close and order anchor it to the bottom right and we better give this a reasonable name call it a caliph or not color from on our form edit button and secure the caption new caliph or and we'll use unit 7 and we'll shout and usually what I needs to hear is in the on clothes make sure that the form is freed so that we are free Apple memory that we use next we want to add some dock sites so I'm going to add to it a page control it makes a form of a bigger and a panel and for both of those we want to save via dockside to true and finally let's run the application so we can create a bunch of new color for man we can dock them in the page control and oops and also enter the panel and shift around a bit and so on now the reason I put this close button on is because when I click on it it closes the application not the form so fixing that is easy enough so just convert this from a close button to custom hand close and if I run that again and what is expected this was just an introduction to a much larger topic of docking but I have certainly given you enough to get started essentially you need a dockside here we used a page control in a panel and something to dock in our case a forum with drag tines at the dock and drag mode set automatic I also introduced you to one gotcha with regards to close buttons I hope this introduction Spurs you on to more discovery and I'll catch you next time
