Delaware Speedway Racing on Rogers tv | July 23rd, 2021

uh they had the 25 capacity in step two uh they're allowed to bring in more now for a step three and we have a great crowd here for uh our first friday night after taking a week off last week yep and as we were talking about just before the show started uh racing very expensive sport especially after a year of none of it at all so a lot of the sponsors in the car sponsors on the track a lot of local businesses stepped up to the plate and helped out a lot of these drivers yeah it's a perfect segue from supporting uh local business because local businesses are supporting uh these race car drivers because it's an expensive sport uh and you'll see a lot of sponsors a lot of the business names on the cars tonight because obviously those sponsorship funds help with the all the expenses that go into a season of racing so we've got some great races here tonight uh first up let's take a look at the super stocks which we saw the last last couple of weeks and it has been some really great racing so far hasn't it yeah good lineup tonight with the super stocks ryan bright the points leader just by three there uh david mccullough had a good showing a couple of weeks ago trevor culver also rounding out the top three it's really tight there uh from uh as well it's pretty tight all the way down but the second down to uh seventh with ryan ryden lapsovich uh pretty tight there for the super stocks we'll see a couple of heat races from the super stock series uh tonight and then they're featured later on this evening will be 35 laps ryan dyson leading the rookie of the year uh challenge right now trevor culver we mentioned he won the first race but that was in a different series so he didn't get points for that but he's still in a really good really good chance and to make up some really really good ground heroes even in the heat races because there's still points for the heat races that are on the table yeah and don't forget looking at six spot right there number nine andrew ferreira he is the defending champ uh in six spot but uh only what is that eight from uh ryan bright's lead of 62 points still very early we're just on the onset of a season so yeah and plenty of other uh plenty of other series we got tonight uh we're also gonna have the late models later on yeah the uh pro late models as we'll have a look at the standings here uh and cole powell at the top right now that's very tight it was a great great race uh two weeks ago here on the rogers tv whether powell sheridan robley nose to tail for like the final seven to ten laps powell with a one point lead the top three separated by just two points with sheridan and robley uh and shrank mourinho chapman friel connor pritiko the rookie this year in eighth spot a little surprise with the daryl lake right now in ninth spot uh 12 points off the pace uh in the 77 but once again very early in this delaware speedway season evan it's not just the delaware speedway season where we're talking about today obviously most of it is stellar we're at delaware speedway but we also have a touring series touring series coming up coming around today uh the sportsman series which is going to be a lot of fun yeah the ontario sportsman series they've had one race it was last week on the 17th at the sabo speedway jason parker took the checkered flag there kevin gallon uh jake zevenberger rounded out the uh podium uh it's gonna be some great racing it's a it's been a touring series for quite some time uh and we're looking forward to uh watching them tonight i forgot to mention the late models are going to do a couple of heats of 10 laps each tonight their feature is going to be 35 and then the the feature feature for tonight will be the sportsman series they're going to be racing 50 laps for their feature here at delaware speedway awesome it looks like they're doing the parade lap right now so that's a good time for us to head to break right now we'll be right back here on rogers tv right you're local great chance to come out to watch some live sports first time in a long time for a lot of us uh the fan experience here is something that chris sores was telling me right before the break is amazing isn't it yeah it's great if you haven't been here to uh delaware speedway there's a lot to take in obviously you're coming to watch some live racing there's always a good card here at the delaware half mile uh arguably the oldest half mile asphalt track in canada uh lots of touring series as they're stopping by this year plus the weekly series which feature four different divisions uh it's great racing plus you there's some great food here that we both have taken in from time to time and sometimes even when those touring series come in or those special events uh there's exhibits there's a souvenirs there's lots to take in for the quote-unquote fan experience here at delaware speedway which is always a good show on a friday night or those rarities of a saturday or a sunday stocks about to get going here and look who's got pull for the uh for the first super stock heat race it's our boy dave evanson yeah uh and we'll see what he's got this week he's been uh off the pace quite a bit the first two weeks that we were here so we'll see how he leads this field in heat race number one of the super stocks possibly the prettiest car on the grid though am i right uh well yeah i guess so it does have some good features to it that's for sure so we're about set to get going here they're doubling up looks like they're going to do one more lap under yellow before we get going here yeah i'm super excited for this this weekend is going to be an absolute barn burner every race i have no idea what to expect yeah and one of the uh new racers tonight he's at the back of this heat race number seven race fans of delaware speedway will know the name pete vanderwist he will start in the seven car dave everson will lead things off lonnie thompson in the four the 17 kenny mcnichol jr is also in this heat race the 0-7 of nick ramsey the uh 71 connor van steensalt he's in the field for this race as well looks like the 18 or sorry the 19th kevin trevlins in this race the 91 cody coburn and of course pete vanderweist as we get set for the first race of the night this week an all-star field here to start us off race number one here we got contact from go and oh he already got contact that was the 17 car making contact with everson as emerson falls back and the leader number four thompson lonnie thompson is pulling away right now but he's got a lot of friends who are looking to crash his party yeah i'm pretty sure if you're gonna crash the party you're not a friend we'll have to wait and see what nick ramsey and kenny mcnichol jr the 0-7 and the 17 have for the four of thompson and a quick battle almost three wide into the turn three for the lead everyone go inside by each now this can't work and it does just barely and it's gonna be ramsey who falls back and it's mcnichol jr now yeah kenny mcnichol just threw out a 21.156 lap at the half mile that's pretty quick for a super stock and he's looking to really pull it away now if he can nail these corners he's got a lot of room to make between those two front two cars here comes the seven of pete vanderweist he's up to fourth started in seventh inside the last row and he's trying to bridge that gap now to thompson in the four card oh coburn goes wide the 91 of cody coburn had a lot of trouble with that corner that could be an issue along the back side especially when it comes to the front of the field catching up pete vanderwish just threw out a 20.064 lap here he comes inside of thompson at a two real battle here for the third spot and it's also vance diesel looking to crash the party here it's going on the outside [Music] nickel jr across the strike to complete lap number five oh sorry this is lap number five four down in the books vanderweist up to third starting to pull away there up front is mcnichol jr and also pulling away from the field is ramsey in second five laps to go now we're halfway through the first heat race and it looks to be academic unless [Music] ramsay can pull off an absolutely perfect lap here having a little issue with the scoreboard here at the track this should be lap number six so we have four to go mcdickel junior ramsey vanderwin thompson your top four and the 71 of conor vance stiezel rounding out the top five right now and beyond that everson coburn groshak that's your battle for fourth on screen right now thompson in the four the 71 of van steensel he wants it looks to the inside and three thousand will shut the door that's gonna be a real dog fight going to the end because both of those cars have good pace and hold them up really good drivers in the cockpit the front three separated evenly about seven car lengths each there's your battle for fourth top left of your screen here's your leader bottom right coming out of four to complete another lap two laps to go we're in the lap number nine in this ten lap heat race so we have two laps to go on our screen everyone's still pushing for those last little spots in the heat rates valuable points are still around especially for the front here mcnichol jr would really like to make up some points he lost last week last lap of the race big nickel junior coming around the top three looked pretty set going oh the race is over we miscounted yeah i think the uh it was actually the board at delaware speedway i think the flag man was counting correctly uh and the scoreboard was incorrect uh so we do have winner of the heat race number one for the super stocks joy and that's the 17 of kenny mcnichol jr fantastic drive that race uh he basically did everything perfectly uh pete vanderweist another really good drive for him going up coming up into third uh yeah that was uh i was very confused there for a second there but that is the right call and that is that was a very very tightly fought race first things first yeah so i believe lonnie thompson came in fourth in that race if i'm not mistaken and van stiensel was a fifth as we get set for heat race number two with the super stocks the 19 and kevin trevlin is going to have the pull we're gonna head trackside right now for the rest of the winter's interview at at the side there later on this evening for the feature than to try and keep up this momentum uh yeah that's uh that's the game plan just keep up the momentum and uh hopefully let everybody know that we're back here to race with uh up up front with pole is kevin travel in the 19 the 93 of gary zweigers is next to him behind him the uh defending champion andrew ferreira next to him the number 12 of ryden lapsovich also a guy to watch out for and i'll take you through the rest of it after the after we get the white flag here we go i said white i meant green yeah i know you're a fan favorite of trevor culver but he's got a tough job here with dyson in front of him he's already advancing andrew pereira looking for the lead already anna ferreira looking like a rocket ship right now absolutely flying across the inside we're dealing with some wasps up here aren't we chris sora has lost his hat there for a second to a wasp i believe is oh we got a spin david mccullough no yellow flag yet i don't think mccullough can move there he is in between turns one and two waiting for the caution there it is okay all right [Music] a bit of a late call but the call was made in time yeah they just wanted to see if david could get restarted the 39 sitting second in the point standings uh three points uh behind ryan bright ryan bright also in this heat race in the 45 a couple of others that we didn't get to let's go to the replay here on rogers tv there's ferrero leading the field into turn one here comes mccullough oh i got santa collide with that 45 that we were talking about the car of ryan bright might have got a piece of the white car couldn't get a number on the white car but that is a 12. that was the 12. all right that took place in uh in turn one with ryden lapsovich in the 12 car and lapsovich is also going to pit here he might right off the heat race here because it looks like he's the mechanics are already jumping on them other names we didn't get to before this heat race started that brian dyson is in the 28 doug stewart is in the blue deuce deuce i like that yeah just one lap complete here uh in the heat race and uh caution laps do not count so we have uh i believe one lap complete and nine to go once we get the restart so right in lapspitch uh his rookie of the year bid is in some jeopardy here only a fifth of the points available in the heat race but still every point matters especially as close as this fight is and andrew ferreira we know why he got to the lead because he had the fastest lap of the only lap that's been run at 21.395 uh was the best lap of the field in this heat race the next best was the ryan dyson the 28 at 21.680 there you see the defending series champ on a strap right that's andrew pereira in the nine car and he will lead the field and back to green as we get the sign from flag man scott mackie to double things up as we get set we'll have one more pay slap after this lap and we'll uh let the field loose again it looks like lapsovich his team determines that he's good to go so with mccullough so they are able to get some quick repairs and they will rejoin the race especially if it's early in the season and you are in a points battle already mccullough is sitting second in the points too clear of third place trevor culver so he definitely wants to get some heat race points absolutely and it's again it's not just the championships also rookie of the year which lapse vic is in a dogfight uh brian dyson leads the uh rookie standings in the division with 54 points and lapsovich just three points back lonnie thompson's also a rookie he has 46 points and conor van stiesel the fourth rookie in the division sits at 43 points as we get set to resume heat race number two of the super stocks with nine to go and mccullough looks like he's gonna pit again did not like the fix inside the 39 pits so the 39 second in point stanis comes back into the pits high drama here at delaware speedway we're about to restart here here we go culver all over the back of the second place car right now and ferreira once again just absolutely pulls away yeah culver's in a tough spot he's got the blue deuce and doug stewart to his left and he's he's trapped behind at trevlin there you see the battle for third trembling in the 19. he's clogging culver up culver looking for a spot in front of a doug stewart in the two and stuart won't give it to him so culver in the top spot is the tough two trying to get away oh he's really seeking for a gap but he can't find it because there there was a count but it wasn't the size of a car now he got to the inside of trevlin the points leader ryan wright following the one card now still anyone's race there in the third spot everyone all clumped up lapsmith's trying to get back into the dogfight but he's still back culver a great run corner exit out of two got to the inside of stewart there's the battle on the screen right now coming out of four that's for third place calvary show pace last couple of weeks but does stewart have him have it in him to fight with him looks like culver's going to get free and he's going to be able to chase now ryan wright trying to follow him through there you see the nose of the 45 to the inside of the two going into three oh i think there was contact there was stuart and bright smashed wheels and they're both still going on last lap the leader turned to 20.616 lap trevor culver at 20.609 he had the fastest lap last time through bright finally gets free of stewart and now stewart's got a whole another problem because that's prevalent now trying to get inside a steward steward falling back real quick but nice defense there keep traveling behind him culver is visibly the fastest car in the track right now might not have enough time for the lead but he could have enough time to get to dyson in the second spot he's definitely got the pace on the straights but he's got to be able to nail these corners delaware speedway is all corners 20.515 culver's last lap he beat ferreira the leader by a tenth of a second let's go to the battle for her second spot dyson in the 28 top left culver into one coming out of turn four and the gap is closing culver was absolutely not in the conversation three laps ago but he's made up so much time in such a little amount of time two laps to go about we're about to start the last lap and culver's gonna try and make a move here this could be dangerous last lap here we go culver does he have enough time to do it it's gonna be close might be a drag race into the last two corners can he get him on turn four no he cannot and that'll save it so ferreira dyson culver right stewart is able to hold off trevlin of lapsovich gets some much needed points and zweigers follows them he'll pick up some points as well because mccullough had to retire yeah and that's the key of that heat race right now second place in this danny's mccullough with zero points in that heat race and heat race uh points are allocated uh 10 points for first nine for second and so on all the way down like mccullough i believe if there was uh 10 cars in that heat race he will get uh one point uh or whatever point value is for coming last in that heat race so two super stock heat races done on this friday night delaware speedway let's move to the pro late models joey yeah they're going to be a lot of fun later on later on as the heat e1 drivers are heading out there now there's been a lot of intrigue when it comes to the late models because last week there was there's an incident or not last week sorry the week before it was an incident-filled race and a lot of people might have some uh some things to say to each other going forward here yeah absolutely let's go down to victory lane we might not be able to see andrew but we'll eventually when we head down there we'll be able to hear him uh because he parked right behind the there's a nice shot there out of our turn four camera thank you so much let's go let's they're just checking uh temperature of the tires right now to record some uh numbers and let's go down to victory lane how was the car with that speed early on in this night uh feels pretty good after our last race had a little incident uh not sure for the fastest or not but it felt good that's good to hear what's it gonna take to try and get the job done again in the future tonight i think we're gonna do a small little change and uh go for going for the win indeed andrew ferreira once again celebrating a heat race victory that was justin prince in a precarious position kind of dodging cars coming into the pits as we're about to get started here with the late models they're going to do one more lap under yellow as they're doubling up now uh patrick friel or no that's not patrick's feel patrick feels in there somewhere jason lipster and lister has got a lot of stuff to prove this week because he had a great race last week but then was taken out near the end yeah peyton jacobs will start on the outside of row one the 39 on the inside in the late models is going to be brainy smith uh lloyd rawlings on the outside jade inside row three in the 43. the 84 also in the heat race that's j.r fitzpatrick well known to race fans here i believe that's mark jacobs in there as well the night jacobs in the 96 as we get set for pro late model heat race one safe scar in here we go also the 94 that's the only guy we didn't mention david patrick in the 94. lister gets a great start you also gets a great start it's brady smith lloyd rawlings in 96 was very very loose on a turn too let's go to second place battle smith in the 39. jacob's in the five coming back and that's the 69 of lloyd rawlings was really loose in the last turn but had a nice recovery and is now trying to cover up and cover up jacobs here on the inside brady smith in the 39 looks like that car is on rails wow does he look fast his last lap 20.102 the leader just turned to 19.30 brady turned to 19.27 the 39 is coming 43 and jay doerr out of nowhere he just turned a 19.47 lap so the top three are all sorted and they're gonna be fighting in the back we gotta get the contacts up the 84. yeah fitzpatrick trying to get through traffic back in the field the front three getting away we got a spin in turn one i believe and that's the 94 of david patrick i didn't see what happened there was in my blind spot but patrick i think jacobs was involved because now if you look on the track joey jacobs is back in second last spot but he was in the top five when we went into turn one so the five was involved i think the 69 maybe of lloyd rawlings not sure but we're under caution here with three laps down and seven to go in this elite model heat race one the car is moving again it i don't believe he's planning on pitting [Music] so it looks like we'll be set to go shortly as he's gonna try and unlock himself here they're not on lap results but get back on the pace let's go to the replay this is happening in turn one the field coming through there's jane duran to 43 there's rawley fitzpatrick in the 84 oh i think jacob's got in the back of 94 patrick into turn one might have been a little bit of help from the five car and that's why the five car kind of slowed up and went to the back of the deal fitzpatrick just narrowly avoided getting collected by that car as well so as they're about set to get started he's going pretty quick for under yellow but he's trying to catch the field as it looks like we're gonna do one more lap under yellow yeah let's reset the eleven is lit still right there as the field comes out of turn four brady smith outside of uh jason in road one jay dortmund 43 and lord rawlings 69. j.r fitzpatrick in the 84 mark jacobs in the five uh the 96 i believe the 96 is mark jacobs my apologies five is peyton j five is peyton jacobs thank you so much and it looks like patrick has rejoined the field and he'll sit outside row number four as the field gets set with seven to go here in late model heat race number two lloyd rollins number one sorry lloyd rawlings was completely out of the top three pack now he's got a great chance we can get a good start here he can rejoin them safety car in turning last corner here we go what'd i tell you lloyd rawlings he's joined the pack can he stay with it though he doesn't quite have the pace and that's patrick fitzpatrick's gonna join the fight now jane trying to battle with the front two brady smith going deep into the corner contact problem on the top of fitzpatrick lister around that'll catch up patrick and both jacobs right there in turn four it's a parking lot on the walmart restart for the province right there that caught everyone but two cars that's just smith and rawlings who were able to avoid that rawlings he was in the middle of it he avoided that pretty nicely we might have a fantastic shot here for a turn four camera picked it up pierce jr fitzpatrick hopping out of the 84. uh heavy damage on the 96 of marc jacobs that was an extremely aggressive attempt at uh an overtaken let's go to the replay uh if we can i think we have a couple of looks this is going into turn three fitzpatrick and 84. rawlings in a 69. here's during the 43 to your left here comes jacobs in the 96. lister around fitzpatrick got a great view of the undercarriage of the jay doer machine in the 43 and everybody stacked up from that here's the shot from their turn four camera smith trying to get in front of lister contact right front of lister left rear smith let's start around jay doer up on the car of the 84 fitzpatrick machine and the rest pile in there with the 96 of jacobs heavy front and damage there's gonna be a lot of damage in a lot of these late models uh to try and repair this i don't even know i don't even know who was who was more aggressive there because there was a pair of cars that were involved that was uh lister and smith and i don't know who should have acquiesced there because both of them probably had a right to their line right i'm not quite sure it looked like maybe there's you see the 96 of marc jacobs as the crew is going to take a look heavy heavy front damage on that 96 machine i'm not quite sure if lister got loose uh between turns three and four uh if we can get another shot from our turn four camera that's probably our best look to see if lister got loose or to see if brady came down on him in that transition between turns three and four uh to uh turn the 11 around let's go to the replay here let's check this out again this is between turn three and four they're entering turn three right now let's in the 11 smith in the 39. smith outbreaking the 11. now the 11 looked like it came up the groove just a bit into the left rear of brady smith's 39 and then the rest pile in it kind of looked like maybe jason might have got a little front and loose uh coming out of a turn three heading into turn four oh my and uh and then we saw the rest so uh the safety crew delivers speed right here as you see uh trying to clean up the mess in turn four so doerr i believe that's doer just picked up lister's hood and threw it into the pits jay doerr yeah well it's frustration like we talked about in the pre-ratio uh lots of money goes into racing this is a weekly series uh lots of weekly series in in canada south of the boarding flamborough speedway uh to anyone he got the cayuga in uh ontario um out west lots of racing south of the border lots of short track racing it's not just the uh uh the top series uh in stockholm racing there's a lot of these weekly series in small track ontario uh where it costs money to race um so jay doerr on the back end of the service machine as they continue to clean up here in turn four this looks like launcher chris sores and chris we just saw probably the biggest wreck of the season so far yeah and unfortunately um it was a heat race uh not even the feature and unfortunately uh some good cars out probably for the rest of the evening there's jr fitzpatrick he's to go on the business end of the flatbed here uh jay doerr uh might be out as well uh that front end damage on the 84 you see right there that's because the 43 and j doer was on top of fitzpatrick's car um in that wreck in turn four uh jason lister uh we don't know the status of the number 11 machine uh a lot of fluid leaking and a lot of front damage on the 96 of marc jacobs who's currently on pit road and the crew looking at that machine uh so a lot of good race cars and uh a lot of really good drivers might be out for the rest of the night this is only late model heat race number one uh still a second heat race to come with uh some more uh top cars but yeah it's uh it's sad to see uh what fitzpatrick and dewer might be out for the rest of the night let's recap what happened before we went to break uh this happening in the turn three and into four jason let's turn 11 brady smith in the 39 contact there watch the 43. jay doer on top of the 84 uh fitzpatrick here's another look this is from our top of the flagstand area behind the flagstand view jade on top of the 84 of jr fitzpatrick mark jacobs piling in there peyton jacobs in the five stopping just in time also the 94 david patrick stopping just in time but the 43 the 84 the 96 heavy damage uh we're not sure the the 11 of lister is on the track so he looks good uh maybe just a spin maybe some sheet metal fender damage on the left rear of the 11 because that's where he came in contact with the 43 we're gonna have to wait and see and get a better look on the 11 uh once he gets to the back stretch but yeah still a cleanup process going on in turn four they're almost done but yeah joey some some top cars uh out probably for the rest of the evening unless some uh magical fix fixings can go on in the pits and the tragic thing about fitzpatrick in general is fitzpatrick was a favorite for the feature and the feature is worth five times the points absolutely there's uh the crew the 96 pit mark jacobs uh going to work on the front and under the hood it looks like they're uh working just on the front fender as well the a lot of damage on the nose of that 96 so we're going to recap the entire race real quick because we are three laps in now this is happening in turn one the 94 going around of david patrick contact with peyton jacobs at that time in the five car uh that was an earlier caution and then the one we're stopped for right now we are under red flag conditions we failed to mention that we are not under caution the cars are stopped on the track we are under red flag and conditions contact between the two leaders uh the 11 spins into the 43 the 84 ramps the 43 up and that's one of the things about the late models joy if we can uh maybe get a close-up of one of the late models on track or in pit road you'll notice that uh the nose of the machine uh slants really low and but if you notice the um the rear bumper um that's really low actually on on jacobs but yeah you see the nose cone is slant slow but you can look at the back of the of the 96 car there's litter so look at the back of the 11 machine how it's really uh high above the track now look at the nose so you take the nose of that one car and put it underneath the rear of the 39 for example and you're gonna probably lift that car up and that's what happened because jay durer hammered on the brakes when lister spun and the 84 fitzpatrick got the nose cone underneath the rear bumper of jay doers 43 and uh wrapped him up on his hood if you hit that the right way it's basically just a mario kart ramp at that point because you're going to go flying uh something that i don't think we caught but i noticed that that's so frustrating for fitzpatrick because fitzpatrick was just a complete victim in that he had nothing to do with the actual collision and the problem is because we saw in the actual collision his hood got ripped right off he got out of his car picked up and just wheeled it in the pit lane it's so frustrating oh like i said jay doerr did it looked like do or did it okay but it was it was jr patrick yes so we're back under uh caution flank status now on the speedway as you see the cars begin to roll with seven to go here and late model heat race number one a ten lap heat race uh another heat race set to come uh putting some speedy dry in turn four uh letting it soak up the fluid and now sweeping it away uh the safety crew here at delaware speedway it's not jet drying it's not we won't have juan pablo montoya over there oh it's kitty litter yeah pretty much i i if you crash in a kitty litter it's not going to explode into flames i don't think we got to worry about that no and they're probably not going to be running over the kitty litter what happens is the it's not really kitty litter it's uh it's a liquid soaking up material it soaks up the material after a few minutes then the crew uh kind of sweeps it away and the track should be good to go so it looks like lister will not be rejoining us neither will the mark jacobs machine i think peyton jacobs is yes the five i think lister might be might still come out because he didn't park completely into his pit box he's outside the pitch box just a bit he has not left the cockpit uh so they might be doing maybe a little bit of adjustments and getting him back out we're gonna have to wait and see so on track right now we only have four cars and one of them the uh luckiest man on the track right now brady smith who caused the whole accident now inherits the lead uh and then we mentioned lloyd rawlings who had a really nice escape of the incident uh he inherits second right now that might change if lister is able to get back on track a lot of shake-ups possible in the points now because a lot of the guys left aren't very high up in the points are they uh no they're not uh jay doerr sits in 13th uh payton or sorry brady smith who leads the heat right now in 14th he could definitely uh use some points for sure uh jay doer is going to lose some points obviously mark jacobs is in 12th so yeah they weren't really in good point standing right now jason lister in 16th uh but he's going to return to the track which is good news for the 11 team but who stands to get uh a really good push here is going to be brady smith because 10 points to hit win a heat race will jump him up to 52 and quickly put him in the seventh spot uh before the feature and the speaking of the feature that's probably what the uh marc jacobs team the 96 team is thinking about right now is yeah we don't even need to worry about the heat race right now we need to make sure we can run the feature yeah absolutely good call there absolutely correct like i said five times the points available in the future so if it's an iffy situation if you can get out for the heat race you might as well just focus on trying to get the feature back up as we're looking it looks like we're going to stay under yellow for at least another couple of laps as they're still trying to figure out how to dry off this track at least the cars are able to go back out and drive big crowd here at delaware speedway here in just outside of london ontario in delaware ontario crowd is uh much bigger than we saw the last couple of weeks because as we mentioned the province is reopening a lot more a lot more capacity available here as we got we got a vip deck right below us so we're probably criticizing our every word i'm sure and we also got another big fan which is wasps who have been dealing who've been messing with you all night yeah this one's gonna die shortly you you have abandoned your commentary post to hunt that watch i'm still here with you no i didn't you nicked it now it's just mad and going for me yeah we got some uh action uh here in the broadcast uh area and on the track oh you got it we got it sorry my friend clutch i apologize don't apologize he's trying to hurt you i was apologizing to him self-defense clutch clutch wasp hit three laps done seven to go as we are set to resume after uh a large incident in turn four taking out some big names not sure if they're gonna return later tonight but we're set to resume late model heat race number one brady smith inheriting the lead as the safety car is about to finally pit could be anyone's race here going forward here we go no one's really pulled away yet although brady smith definitely looks like he's got the faster machine lloyd rawlings doing a great job of splitting the field right now he he's trying to hold on desperately at that number two spot those points would be huge for him as the drivers go over the dead drive right now it's the brady smith show that is for sure and he's out about a six-car length lead on rolex battle for third right now even though it's technically third third like middle it's still third place points as if there were still ten cars on the field there you see it right now patrick in the 94. jacob's in the five and let's during the eleven battle for third lifts her to the highest side of peyton jacobs through one and two up the delaware hill down the back stretch halfway through lister when that car isn't damaged probably as the faster car out of the three but how much damage did a car take it's not that it's not that bad joey his last uh lap time was a 20.161 so the 11 is not that much off the pace not a lot of damage to that lister machine lucky break for the lister team as we turn in three laps to go now everyone's pretty much in formation although that could change in a hurry and it looks lister is going to try and make a move here lister does he have to speed on the straight that's inside the 94 a david patrick battle for third excellent break picture perfect and winster breaks free in the first place yeah it looks like he got loose in turn three again uh kind of what happened with that instant in the 94 patrick had to just check up a little bit lloyd rawlings this will be his best finish of the year so far best finish so far was a five in a heat race a number two would be dreamland as we go into the last lap there you see the 39 brady smith almost a half a straightaway lead on rawlings for second with a quarter of a laps of goal come in at turn four and brady smith is your winner for heat race number one rowling takes two [Music] and it finishes up the way we saw it at the restart so an absolutely chaotic race but brady smith is able to capitalize and pick up the w yeah good job by jason lister to come back for a third place finish there after being involved in that incident and uh david patrick will wind up fourth and peyton jacobs will uh round out the top five so i wonder i mean you got how many of these guys are coming back out for the um oh no there you see a great shot there we just happen to have the leader in the screen but right behind him is the marc jacobs machine uh the crew does not look very active right now with the 96. let's uh we're going to go down shortly to hear from brady smith the heat race uh winner let's go down there now from that close battle for the race lane in the early stages continuing to get the rest of his equipment off right now [Music] brady first things first a heat race victory got really wild for the race lead at one point obviously yeah sorry it's a little loud i couldn't quit here he said um that start there yeah i uh left the 11 car at the bottom uh he was kind of up on the old track he just dive-bombed it in there and got into me a little bit i think unfortunate deal i don't want that to happen obviously in heat race um thanks everybody who got me out here kyra's working great uh get back for the feature and hopefully get the big one what's it gonna take to get the momentum for the feature to try windset feature yeah we had a tough break last week or last time we already had a flat tire and uh just everything holds the 19 is conor critical he'll start second uh the 18 patrick field will start third to zero three ray morneau in fourth the uh 22 marshall shrank will start fifth matt probably six 52 is jake sheridan he'll start uh seventh and the uh 73 will be cole powell he will start eighth in this late model heat race number two i believe that's a new delivery for morneau as well new paint job yeah it looks like it this should be an interesting heat race the top three in points powell sheridan roble are starting at the back of this heat race and that's how they determine the lineups for the heat races are based on the finishing order and point system from the previous week's feature so this should be interesting with the 51 the 52 and the 73 coming through the field so the 13 of jayden chapman he went out there originally and was in number two and then he pulled in so something was up with the car but he feels like he's able to go out there now so he is going to take the second spot that's jaden chapman so i'm not sure because he went out there and then he came in for repairs i'm not exactly sure what he fixed up but apparently they feel well enough that he can go so yes so jaden chapman will start outside pull and the heat race is gonna be real even more important now because so many people aren't going to be able to pick up any points in the future now yeah this is uh absolutely huge uh lloyd rawlings got some great points in that first to heat so did uh brady smith obviously with the winner but yeah a lot of these guys in this heat race are above those other guys and that's how they line up the heat races the uh the second half of the feature result from the week before goes into heat by itself by themselves so they are able to try and get some points on the leading cars which is a good setup here by the officials and because of that now all these leaders are watching from the lower pack which aren't might not even make the future so now this race becomes even more important because the the places are gonna be even more important as we turn in safety car pits and here we go what a dream yeah chapman very slow start had to come down quickly and shut the door on critical for sorry preal everyone close to the front chapman doing a great job of splitting the field right now can he get free no blake trying to open up his lead coming on the front stretch marnell is side by side for fifth they're stacked up too abreast of the back of the field sheridan got by rawley sheridan giving to the inside of the double deuce trying to advance the spot but the three fast cars the top three points smart at the back of the field there you see them right now top left the 52 in sheridan 51 robbery 73 of powell those are your top three and a points all contact between robley and the 22 there is shrank and strikes going slowly now he's not happy lake with a chance to pick up some big big points if he can win there's powell your points leader in the 73 the 51 of raleigh just ahead of him sheridan tried to come through the pack he's marred behind the zero three or more no in the turn but now that opens the door for real as friel takes up critico but now morneau jr has a chance to catch up on friel there you see the 22 of shrank the 19 of predators at the back of this heat race halfway through and lake is only extending his lead on chapman but chapman is only extending his lead on friel see if we can catch what happened here this is in turn three and four there you see the zero three of moreno the 52 sheridan robbie i think that was just ahead of him yeah there's the 19 of critical getting loose off the left rear of the 18 at friel and lost a ton of spots he's coming up now the only real battle is gonna be for third but it's a three-person battle we're no junior he's hit but he saves it good save there by morning junior contact all the way down the front stretch and sheridan got loose and almost hit the inside wall he had to correct the 52 before he got to the turn that's gonna be a real battle is sheridan and morneau can he get to the inside no more no does a great job shut the door late model heat race two here's the battle for fourth zero three of arnold the 52 is sheridan all over them great run by jake got a corner exit sticks the nose inside to zero three bromley in a 51 looking for a mistake last lap lake enchantment pulling away from the field but it's a dog fight for four sheridan he's gonna go for broke now but mourinho jr shuts the door real nicely go ahead turn forward it's gonna take a miracle lake wins batman mourinho sheridan robbie powell and then shrank and pritiko after early contact could not catch up and that is going to put a dagger through the heart of pritik's rookie of the year chances he really needs he really needs to make it up in the future and get some big points later yeah absolutely let's say well let's not put the cart before the horse just yet this is a very early in the season uh what do we have for uh late model rookies a couple we have two i believe rick verburn and connor critical i believe those are the only two so yeah verburn it didn't have a good result in heat race one so pritiko really didn't lose uh much there critical leads were burned by just one point coming into tonight for the rookie of the year in the late model division so yeah a lot of season left to go so that's daryl lake who is picking up the win and is trying to pull into victory lane although the sportsman series uh kind of gotten the way there back there so a big win there for daryl lake and he's gonna look to try and uh turn that momentum into a feature win later on two eight races coming up for the sportsman series 10 laps each and then we'll have an intermission here at the racetrack but we'll stay with you obviously here live on rogers tv as we get set to go down to victory lane uh driver of the 77 derral lake very solid run how are you feeling about coming away with that heat feels a lot better than getting dumped last week so uh car's in good piece we worked on some speed this week we had time to massage it aft we didn't sustain damage thankfully so uh i think we got a good piece for tonight um hopefully we can do a repeat here for the future so what's it gonna take to be able to get that job done for the future is the big question though everything about this track is starting position so as long as we have a decent starting position and cars can roll then we've got a good driving car so hopefully we can drive up to the front um got to thank catalyst watching todd shepard right now who led the pack out of the pits i believe they qualify like this so maybe you know what i'm not even going to hazard i guess this could be qualifying multi-card qualifying or this could be just warming up the cars for heat races i'm not quite sure so assuming this is qualifying uh that's mark patrick who has the best lap and no actually it's going to be uh todd shepard takes best lap in the green car there so todd shepard has the 21.108 yeah 21.107 so he's got best lap life actually mark patrick has the best lap 22 oh he did have the best now 21.81 but he had a 20 he had a 20 second there but it went away on our list the mustang rolled out yeah absolutely todd shepard just turned to 21.005 there you see the 90 machine that's david rockwood the number three of tim tolton goes 28.88 [Music] [Music] why don't we do this because i don't like leaving our uh our viewers on the line i'm going to step into the scores move and find out what's going finishing up their lap see if they can catch and it looks like it's going to be rockwood with the 20.669 with the best lap of that session does the 90th david rockwood behind him the number two of todd shepard 20.826 just behind him is the number three of tim tolton 20.858 and that is your top three of that session yeah so uh breaking news i don't think i don't know if you're on i can't hear myself there we go breaking news uh both there's gonna be two sessions qualifying uh for both sessions five laps each obviously the first session is done second session coming out for the sportsman series five laps of qualifying and then uh the track's going to take a five to ten minute intermission and then we'll go feature uh race for three of them so no heat races for the sportsman series so david rockwood on provisional poll he's 20.669 after the first session that is the time to beat right now yes uh tim tim sorry todd shepard is behind him the 20.826 and tim tolton the 20.858 so that is the top of the first session yeah just three drivers uh sup 21 seconds on that first session shepard rockwood and tolton so we're going to have the next session here uh we're still in yellow as everyone's just getting ready for the track that was very confusing but i'm glad we figured it out thank you for doing your investigative journalism there yeah well we don't want to leave our viewers hanging right absolutely so session number two as we're waiting for the green to be displayed the white comes out so it looks like they're going to do one more formation lap everyone's just trying to make sure they have enough room to actually get a good lap because you don't want to be stuck in traffic here and you don't want to keep anyone else 75's on the track that's kevin lay we don't have a driver named for the uh 19 but he is out there there's a 13. uh you know it's it's it's tough enough to drive a race car but when you're a race car driver and you have a name like brad collision you know that's unfortunate and brad's a great race car driver but yeah i don't know you know my last name's collision i want to get into racing i've i've i've been told that it's collison now oh is it carlson yes okay well that makes much more sense that makes much more sense that's great they start their first lap here here's the 15 mike herniak jr hernia jr the 31 kevin gallons out there as well there you see him in tow in the orange machine fastest time in the first lap was the 21.58 from kevin gallant but that's not close to poles they've got to speed up uh 21-548 by kevin travel and that is kevin traveling uh not close once again coal is 20.669 and there's there it is right there chad mcglinn with a 20.049 an absolute rocket chad mcglinn in the 18. not the track record though uh they missed it by 4 100 of a second the track record 19.798 uh that was set back on august 14th 2015 by brennan to daryl i watched him race really good driver 19.798 is the uh super sorry the ontario sportsman serious track record here in delaware and oh we're gonna get closer chad mcglinn 19.969 wow what a great lap that was wow call us in 20 seconds 20.46 second lap time so we'll see mcglynn this time around we mentioned traffic could be an issue that's probably his last clean lap and he's not able to improve his time so as mentioned traffic is starting to become an issue because he's 75 there okay he's got some room though i don't know what lop this is but there is the mcglinn in the 19. 19.969 is as fast as slapping he'll come across the striker yeah that's going to be 20.810 so the fastest lap by far goes to the 19 18 attractor glenn 19.969 to 18 on the live timing but 19 uh is the car number and that definitely is uh that's kevin trevlin actually my apologies on screen kevin the 19 the 18 is the chad mcglynn he's in the white car with the red letter just ahead of the 19 rolling into uh tech lane both waiting right this is the first time we've seen these cars this season sitting on the uh fabled at delaware hill uh but yeah concession stands to the right um yeah i like that we're starting to pan there i kind of like that there you see the parking lot top right corner um we are jam-packed here at the delaware speedway concessions uh and souvenir booth the white building uh down to the white at uh down to the right and a great crowd here at the speedway absolutely night's over isn't it yeah that's the trailer of a j.r fitzpatrick uh unrepairable the 84 machine unfortunately a big wreck in one of our late model heat races tonight the heat races were absolutely fantastic once again we do have graphics chris soares joey langdon and uh we had some fantastic key races some chaotic heat races uh starting off with the super stocks yeah super stocks we had two we heat races uh we've got highlights uh let's go to heat race number one this happening in turn one we're gonna have a little instant between the five and the jacobs machine uh the 39 david mccullough david coming in tonight second in a point he tried to return to the heat race and it did not work so uh he's getting very very minimal points in that first super stock heat race won by kenny mcnichol jr uh nick ramsey pete vanderweist driving the seven car for those the delaware race fans out there who recognize that name pizza in a super stock tonight uh we have lonnie thompson and mr van steensall rounding out the top five that was super stock he raced number one and mcnichol can uh sorry mccullough couldn't return to race also lister uh had a lot of damage so coming up to the feature later that's gonna be some problems totally two different divisions we'll talk about lister coming up with the late model right my mistake uh let's talk let's talk about the second super stock though first uh that one a bit cleaner of a race but still no less chaotic yeah super super stock heat race number two uh the defending champion uh andrew ferreira uh making quick work of that heat race he took heat race number two uh ryan dyson trevor culver rounded out the top three uh ryan bright the points leader in the super stock division coming into tonight he finished fourth and the mr doug stewart a well-known name here around the delaware half mile circles he finished fifth to complete the super stock heat race number two we should have a great super stock feature uh like we do pretty much every time the super stocks take to the truck it's been a great division for the last four or five years right and you're right i did jump the gun on lister who was in the late models late models were absolutely chaotic uh let's talk about the first late model race which was uh the start of the whole the whole the whole thing there yeah and it would it happened with the eventual winner we've got highlights from uh late model heat race number one uh this is also going into turn number one this was an early incident i believe on lap number three uh jacobs getting in contact with the 94 in the left rear spinning the 94 round mark jacobs in the 96. uh quick to get away from that one but did not get away from the one we're gonna see right now this is happening in the turn three little leader in the 11. brady smith in the 39 they're gonna have contact coming right now uh uh right rear uh or left rear uh smith right front of lister uh jay durer right behind listen to 43 gets ramped up by the 84 if it's patrick here comes mark jacobs in the 96 and plows into uh the 84 if it's patrick another look this is in the turn three the incident's gonna happen just ahead of the 43 outside screen left in front of jay doerr you're gonna see the 84 the nose of the 84 get underneath the 43 right there destroy the front of the 84 jay during the 43 goes sky high jacobs in the 96 plows in lister was able to return to the heat race eventually won by brady smith who takes the heat race after that instant and turn four lloyd rawlings a great uh finish in the heat race he finished second jason lister returning to uh grab a couple spots finished third in that heat race david patrick peyton jacobs rounding out the top five and late model he raced one there's some final destination stuff there because the people who avoided the first wreck were the worst off in the second wreck yeah absolutely and yeah we saw that both highlights there uh jacobs is missing the getting low on that turn one insulin and he had nowhere to go in that turn three four incident late in that heat race the second lane model race didn't have as much drama to it but was still a very fun race yeah and what needed to happen did happen the 77 of daryl lake got full heat race points tonight uh he said in the post-race interview uh well that win is a lot better to getting dumped last week and for those of you who don't know the racing term dumped it's not like somebody grabbing a big barrel of water and dumping it over your head it's getting dumped uh getting turned by a car uh and wrecking your knight so darryl lake takes the heat race win uh jayden chapman and patrick freel second and third respectively ray mourinho and jake sheridan finished out the top five sheridan coming into tonight uh one point back sitting in second spot in the standings behind the points leader cole powell and the sports event which is new to us we had a first for us uh at all this season which is we had a live qualifying which was fun to watch a lot of really quick races and a 19.7 i believe yeah 19.696 i believe for kenny mclin jr uh in the 18. uh ontario sportsman series stock car uh we thought uh according to the itinerary which i can show you uh we thought it was gonna be two heat races but in turn they did two sessions of five lap qualifying multi-car qualifying uh to figure out the field for the feature uh we're gonna have a 35 lap feature for the super stocks another 35 lap for the late models and we're gonna go 50 with the ontario uh sportsman series tonight a lot of super fun races coming up we'll have them for you right here on rogers tv go don't go anywhere right after this [Music] when i get up in the morning the first thing i do is put down my ass jaylen's been able to have the prosthetics and have the support that she needs because of the people who donate to the war amps my um helps me to pick flowers she can do things on her own she doesn't need someone else to do it uh the staff behind the cameras volunteer staff they do a great job each and every week not only with uh auto racing uh baseball all kinds of stuff and uh here's one of our camera operators giving it a nice little pan of delaware half mile here in delaware ontario there's turn number one it's a half mile track but if you look at it from above it's an egg shape so turns one and two there you see one on the right and the two left you go up the delaware hill and the turn two and then you'll notice that it comes down the back stretch so you go up the delaware hill and two down the hill into the back stretch so turns one and two is a shorter distance than turns three and four that white building in the center right there in the middle of the infield that's the tech building also small little canteen for the racing teams now we're going to turn three top of the screen you'll see turns three to turns four is a bigger distance than turns one to turns two uh a la the egg shape if you look from above and that's the half mile track here at the delaware speedway which we are a few minutes away from getting set to go with the first super stock heat race to join not all the cars are yet on pit road getting lined up we're still waiting for that hey there's us hi hello uh so i don't know if you call us a speedway a stadium but if you do this is one of the most gorgeous stadiums i've ever been to it's all it's both carved out of a hill but also in the middle of just beautiful forests yeah one of the greatest places i've been to sporting events you can call it an uh uh auto racing uh stadium i'll tell you one and i'd love to go it's on my bucket list uh bristol motor speedway 160 000 it's a full it's a it's the same distance as delaware speedway but the banking is about 33 degrees and they're going pretty flat out they're getting 16 to 17 second laps but the point is it's a stadium setting so there's stands around the entire half mile at bristol tennessee uh and uh from what i understand from friends of mine who have gone there the aurora the engines comes right up the stands it is loud that is a stadium setting for sure but yeah love this uh of course we have stands here at the delaware we have bleachers and we have the fabled delaware hill where people bring lawn chairs of blankets and enjoy united racing and you mentioned bristol which is a funny funny track to bring up because i've heard a lot of people call this bristol north because of the distance of the track the style of racing you need to do here and also because the stands are right on top of the track yeah absolutely on one side of the track so covering turns one to turns four is where the spectators are the one of the main differences is of course the banking because here at delaware speedway uh you need to have some braking going into turns one and three whereas the bristol motor speedway with the 33 degree bank turns your year pretty much going uh with that pedal almost down to the floorboard if you can especially on fresh tires absolutely so as the cars still make their way to the pit lane we're gonna head to break after this we're gonna have the super stock feature race got to say that enough that you can trademark it it's the thing so what i'm interested in is the uh how the grid's gonna look here because these super stock heat races were very chaotic i'm very excited here well take us take us through the field then oh wait a minute we have it oh we have a happy birthday we we have been handed a card that's a new one happy birthday let you take that one to the four bear boys right carter's eight kohl's eight and what's the last thing that's i think it's carrice is it maybe casey six yesterday cole's eight today and carter's eight today we just had a delivery live birthday rogers tv the first one of the season thank you very much someone ran up and handed us a card so we're going to double things up and we're going to try and get through this slide up as quickly as you can kenny mcdaniel jr has the pole here for the super stock feature the 0-7 nick ramsey on his outside the seven a pete vanderweist inside row number two we got the four of lonnie thompson in row number two outside the defending champ andrew freyr number nine inside road number three uh right behind him is trevor culver as we get set the points here we got dyson and 28 outside the ferreira and the points leader right in the 45. enjoy here we go pace car pits around the corner and here we go great jump by big nickel junior and you mentioned mccullough we weren't sure if he was going to be able even able to get out here but he had a really nice start as well michael jr is absolutely pulling away early and he's going to look to try and keep it that way there's the one at culver the forest thompson a mess going through one and two lots of cars too wide pete banner was to loan up the second he's going to attack the mcnickle machine that gives the opening for ferreira as well and soda and colliver is going to try and get all over ferreira now that's four really really quick cars up what do we tell you about the super stock class we got great features every time they hit the track culver all over the back of pereira down the back stretch they made contact there rear ended slightly culver had to peel away and now he's going to try and go for it again we got swaggers off the pace in the apron back stretch he's going to come into the pit lane as the field rumbles by the front stretch swaggers has some issues mention that come in and that opens the door big time for me nickel junior to try and pull away but vanderweist has a shot here two separate battles only contact with the leader vanderwuist give him a little shot in the left rear absolutely going for it now he's gonna go for it on the outside vanderwins looks strong in the seventh car up the delaware hill and turn two down the back stretch two separate battles because ferreira and culver are all over each other for third there goes vanderweist trying to go around the outside around the outside no great work nickel jr shut the door for now yeah but the seven really stuck good on the outside side by side again out of turn two oh they're taped to each other they haven't moved an inch away from each other this entire race this might allow ferreira and culver to get into the mix the longer they stay side by side now we've got three separate battles nick ramsey and mccullough contacted turn 1-2 we got a spin involving the leaders and ferreira capitalizes vander was trying to straighten it up the leaders mcdingle jr down the fourth we got a new leader it's the knight of pereira an absolutely gorgeous work there by ferreira has to capitalize on the hyper aggressive driving of the true friend mccullough gets by ramsey for fifth a 39 of david mccullough after getting very minimal points in the heat races up to fifth mccullough's in a points battle he's got to make a move now and he wants it now this could this four-man conversation could turn quickly into a five-man one let's take a look at what happened to banner nickel this is morgan has turned one mcnichol in the 17th van der waals came right down on the 17th they're both sideways for a moment mcniggle straightens it up vander was still trying to straighten it up there goes ferreira culver by to take the top two spots no one's pulled away yet though ferreira we know how fast this car could be but does he have the pace hold up culver for a long time because one of the most aggressive drivers on the track and that's a good that's a compliment folks perez he absolutely has no fear pereira culver january mcnichol junior mccully your top five dyson in the fifth in the sixth now the leader right in the seventh nick ramsey the eighth doug stewart in the blue deuces nine and lonnie thompson rounds up the top ten this could be a fight for a while i don't see anyone pulling away anytime soon from this top four pack there you see the lead group coming out of court top left that's foreign to nine the defending series champ the one a culver crossing the stripe 11 down 24 to go culver is closing that gap real quick hasn't been able to pull away like he has been the other races this season as now they'll start to have to deal with blue flag traffic david mccullough just threw out a 20.679 lap time he's catching that battle for third culver really just going all over ferreira those two have been inseparable all race and behind them they're starting to pull a gap between van der west to make nickel there you see the battle for third top left of your screen vanderweist mcnichol jr and mccullis caught that battle now and the leaders are in the traffic at the back end of the lead lap now culver gets ferreira shot in the rear bumper down the back stretch remember last last time these guys came out here culver trying to pass through backpacker traffic is what ended his to contend race mcdaniel jr down low on vanderwish looking to get a spot out of turn two nose to tail three-way battle for third spot and we got a couple of passes up there that's brian dyson and brian bright getting through some pack marker traffic they're gonna have a battle of their own you know battle for first bottom right battle for third top left vander west mcnigle junior mccullough mcdickel jr up the delaware hill inside the car panel of the vanderbilt machine and down the back stretch mccullough looking for a mistake yeah mccullough's strategy here has got to be just pick the bones because it's really hard to go three wide on this track battle for the lead nose to tail down the back stretch they got a half a straightaway lead on this battle for a third that you see on the screen the kindle junior gets three can he hold on through this turn oh there it goes there goes mccullough nightmare lap for vanderwins there's the battle for the lead now calmer filling up the rear view mirror of andrew pereira down the back stretch one more time meanwhile for fourth mccullough we'll take that squat for van der west this is gonna be really interesting coming down the front stretch here that's now mcnickle junior is speeding away he's going to try and catch the leaders but not if mccullough could handle it mccullough has not exactly fallen back from mcnichol jr let's go split screen again bottom for first top left battle for third bottom right mcnichols junior and the black 17 has the third spot mccullough van der west rounding out the top five notes the tail for the lead tops up to your screen down the back stretch one more time how long could these two not just physically but mentally deal with the battle that's been going on for about seven laps now culver takes a little peek inside the number nine machine anderson how long can this go on for they've been absolutely battling like gladiators hopes for another 15 laps mcnichol jr you just saw him trying to bridge that gap now culver all over the back of the pereira number nine more traffic coming their way this is a lot of fun can he hold on of different battles on the track right now look at that 91 mcdonald's mcnico junior alone in third mccullough alone in fourth bandwidth alone in five uh the points either right six nice things seventh ramsay in eight everything's starting to shake out a little bit except for the lead yeah except for this battle you see right now andrew pereira tonight trevor call her into one first and second with 12 the goal [Music] split a bit more of a capturing in the culvert looks like he succeeded as culver falls back there you see the points leader that's the 45 of ryan wright brian dyson in the 28th that's the battle for six spot on the racetrack culver's made up that time he lost last lap a dream lap from culver can he get three he's even with him but no great turn out of turn four by ferreira yeah culver beat pereira on that lap by a tenth of a second pereira turning at 20.87 culver at 20.78 how are they only getting faster with 10 laps to go there's culvert diving inside again oh it's iphone can he can nail it another great turn for pereira yeah pereira has that great corner exit culver has the great corner injury that could have been dangerous but ferreira genius saved yeah culver getting very aggressive with the nine car how long can you be staring at the back of the car without doing something about it let's check out what just happened this is coming into turn one [Music] culver has foreign corner entry here gets it in the back of the nine spins tonight loose andrew strains it up retains the lead as they go down the back stretch this might just come down to the last turn we got eight laps to go and they're still oh culver he got really loose joy and lost a ton of time herrera is taking his lucky start he can breathe easily for a couple of seconds yeah it's about a three and a half car length lead now for pereira to nine six to go this time one of the last traffic cars pushed culver really high and now culver's got some time to make up with only six meanwhile kenny mcnichol jr is trying to catch the lead back his last flap 20.82 which was faster than both the leaders that time by culver with the fast lap 20.72 okay here he comes trying to attack the knight one more time he's running out of time to do it there's your lead battle bottom right kennedy mcnichols top left is blown in the in the third spot four laps to go that little extra oh oh speaking of almost contact herrera just able to avoid it yeah culver has caught the leader in no time he beat prayer by a 10th of a second last lap three to go next time by the leaders at a turn four this is absolutely gonna come down to the last lap we got class on the speedway the 12 is around in between turns one and two and that just made things interesting with three to go in this super stock feature lapsovich got turned i didn't see what happened but we mentioned the rookie of the year race that's going to be really dangerous for him now yeah ryan dyson leading the rookie of the year uh raced by three points over lapsovich doesn't look like ryden can get the 12 car [Music] started or he must maybe waiting for traffic and trying to turn around here and yes he hasn't refired we have a we might have a little shot of what happened here on the right side of your screen as we're gonna pan out and we're looking for the white car oh he just lost it he got loose uh transitioning between turns one and two and goes around and brings out the caution flag with three to go so lost the back end uh alone by himself joey the only other car in the area was doug stewart and i think there was enough of a gap between them that i don't think stewart was involved so that was once again that was lapse fitch doug stewart like i said was the only car in the area but from what it looked like from our camera angle it looked like stewart wasn't even involved it looked like laughs just lost it oh yeah there was nobody behind him for hitting or lose the back end on uh he totally lost that that car on his own maybe going a little hot in the turn one uh we don't know only ryden knows that but we're under caution here with uh four to go officially 31 complete what's got to be going through the head of trevor culver here because i the entire race you've been staring at the back of ferreira uh first for third now for first i think culver's in a tough spot right now and here's why he's going to start outside for it on the restart if he can't uh get a good jump with ferreira in the restart but the 17 of mcnickle does culver might get trapped on the high side this will be a very interesting restart andrew pereira has control he is the control car he can match the gas whenever he wants once he gets into the restart zone culver has to try and do his best to time that restart if not nickel jr might feel the spot on the inside roll nicola a very talented driver but i don't know if he has the pace to catch those top two but do you know who does mate nickel jr so it could be mcnichol junior's time to shine here as the pace car pits we're gonna go around the corner here this can be really really interesting watch the number one see what he does watch the number nine more like it watch when andrew starts it oh we'll see if this might get called back green is still in play oh what a great run on a turn two by ferrara side by side down the back make nickel junior trying to enter the conversation as well oh my god they went side by each for the entire lap they're touching it's gonna be a light oh my goodness culver got a great quarter exit on a turn four it has the edge going into the turn one tonight caution on the speedway we gotta spin it slanty thompson in turn three the white number four car around and caution on the speedway now with three to go so what i want to talk about now was culver ahead when the yellow came out we did call over was ahead extremely briefly that is an interesting call i don't think they do it from the when the yellow comes out they do it from the last completed lap which would be culver if he crossed the stripe at first then he probably has the lead it looked like culver had it by about an inch at least from our angle they have they have culver on live timing and scoring at the top spot now it looks like culver and ferreira might be jostling for position here freyr will remain in the first spot right now we're waiting to see what's the call here this will be interesting if culver crossed the start finish line first last time by if they are doing it with last completed lap then he would have to leave but right now and there's a hand coming out of ferreira's driver's side window motioning to culver i'm not quite sure if it was polite or not he might have motioned okay go in front of me trevor culver the new leader and we can't tell if he was motioning okay go ahead or why are you going ahead it could could be either way but like we said live scoring and scoreboard has culver in the lead and you mentioned last completed lap let's take a look here see who was ahead at the last complete lap and it looks like culver just barely half a car yeah great job by our camera team to actually have a camera at the start finish line with the lead group at that particular moment so great job so call for the official leader now and they'll double up next time by we'll go with three to go so culver and ferreira who have been just in an a disney battle this entire way it did what's a disney battle as in you could this could be a script this could be a movie right here i told you two weeks ago don't bring the bag of one-liners because we we can't keep up with you as we go through to a restart with three to go behind them nothing changed the only shuffle is the inside row pace car pits here we go oh great start for pereira that time as the field flies by our track cam oh but culver clearly establishes the lead now but nicole jr will try and battle for second joint and nickel junior trying to insert himself in the conversation late break but ferreira is going to hold on position for now oh my goodness this could be a big big trouble for that last lap does forever have anything for calver culver was the faster car by a couple of tents before we got to caution white flags out this is going to be the last lap coming around now nose to tail ferreira mcnichol junior mccullough vanderwaals top five oh elder goes a little loose herrera this is your chance this is your chance oh we got spin mcnickle junior mcdaniel jr got tapped by mccullough and we'll go caution we'll do it all over again oh my goodness unless they call it a race we'll check the flagstand and scott mack is going to leave the checkered flag where it sits in the in the holster right here between turns one and two here's mccullen to 39 mcnickle junior to 17 quite a bit of distance and it was closed because mcnichol jr got loose into turn one went in too hot and here comes mccullough taps him in the left rear spins the 17 around and we're cautioned with one to go and that ruins mccullough's race because there's no way he's gonna make gonna be able to make up points in one lap or you mean mcnickle jr yes sorry a lot of mix so we've got another shot for andrew pereira that's what we have and then right there as well it's gonna be a one lap drag race andrew ferrer beat culvert to the line last restart but culver negotiated turns one and two spectacularly and had a full car length lead on the exit to turn two yellow flags still out so it looks like they want to give mcnickle junior a chance to catch up to at least the back marker or they're penalizing the 39 we're gonna have to wait and see that could also be the case we'll take we'll take a look at what the 39 does 39 has not made any indication of moving [Music] so 34 laps complete on the scoreboard unofficially or sorry this is lap 34 coming up i believe that's what they're saying so are they going so we're gonna have two laps to go i believe there's a green white checkered two laps white flag is out which means this will be the last stop for the ace car what's interesting to me is the scoreboard just went out the scoreboard is reshuffling but it still has mcnickle junior in third yeah but we got it right mcnickle junior is not in third david mccullough is in third pete vanderweist is fourth nick ramsey up to fifth now and dyson in sixth how about the chance for vanderwitz now who's out of the race and now has a really nice chance to to rejoin the big restart here for culver pace car pits green white checkered come around the corner here we go beautiful start from culver oh mccullough diving inside the nine machine oh we got hit three wide ramsey to the inside bearded west on the high side and banduras makes an impressive pass wow culver's loose chase foreign nose hey pereira got a good jump on him this isn't over yet down the back one last time ferrara do you have it good inside we tapped him oh he's got it it's gonna be the line it's covered getting there clover what a finish that was payback for the touch on culver on ferreira earlier on in the feature ferreira trying to get him back culver held onto it and he'll take the feature race win in the super stocks ferrero will finish second vader was third ramsey fourth and mccullough fifth culver finishing extremely well through contact there how about that last corner there wow what a race so uh trevor culver coming into the uh night to third in points three back of breitzel he'll make up quite a bit of distance there mccullough was in second in points he finished in the top five so good for him and andrew pereira was sixth coming into tonight he finished his second so a good showing for those three as we will take you momentarily down to victory lane to talk with the tonight's super stock feature race winner trevor culver there is a dinosaur in victory lane right now i don't know why but there is a dinosaur in victory lane right now there he is there is a what is this what is this race i have never seen a race like this and trevor culver coming out of the car now with the checker trevor carver the super stock feature race winner tonight let's hear what he has to say we'll take you right down now to victory lane first of all trevor let's talk about uh your your 30 laps back there in second did you want to get by were you pushing to get by what was the plan there i was doing everything i could to get by cleanly like obviously we all saw i bumped him a couple times and he got pretty squirrelly if i bumped him any harder i would have spun him out so i wanted to do a clean and we kept riding back there right back there waiting for the right opportunity and uh that caution came i didn't know how the car be on the top but uh gave it everything i had up there it stuck caution came out when i crossed the line in the lead did a couple restarts after that the rest is history we're uh we're feature winners here at delaware yeah let's talk about you restarting on the high side obviously that's probably the toughest spot to be on the track restarting second how big was it to get the lead there that's a straight yeah of course uh i'm sure everyone sees tonight the bottom line is the way to go but somehow we made it work up top uh the main reason it works works so good up top is all these people behind me everyone works so hard to do everything they can to make this car the fastest they can we worked [Music] welcome back to rogers tv here at delaware speedway after orlando you know what's up chris soares we've got the late model feature coming up uh we saw a chaotic heat race earlier and brady smith one ended up winning that race so he's gonna start on pole behind him the 69 car of if i have it on my list lloyd rawlings uh the 11 of lidster behind him the 77 of lake the 13 of chapman the 18 of pat friel the 03 of ray mourinho jr who we've seen every weekend so far this season the 52 of jake's sheridan 51 one car behind him we talked about him every week at delaware speedway alleged at this point uh behind him oh his dad was steve robley carving out his own legacy though good good good good cover the 73 of cold powell the 22 car is behind him and that's the car of marshall shrank who was involved in uh the incident earlier and he's able to make it to the track the 19 of conor pritiko was looking to make up some big big points he wasn't able to finish the heat race so he's trying to come out here and get some big big points trying to make up some rookie the year points and then closing it out the 94 of david patrick and the five of peyton jacobs who is back there because uh his teammate mark jacobs wasn't able to finish the race because his car got absolutely obliterated in that wreck yeah we're missing some key players j.r fitzpatrick jay doerr not present either after a heat race rec roll 35 flaps with the late models pace car pits here we go great start there from smith also a great start for rawlings lakes up in their lakes can be stuck behind rawlings for a while and rawlings he's got a real heavy car what he likes to do is he splits the field and tries to make up his room that way lake coming up on the inside lake has got some pace here and lake has a chance and he's coming with a house of fire and they're going to renew their battle at the front of the field from the heat race brady smith and jason lister and daryl lakes there just for fun daryl looking to pick the bones see if there's any emotion [Music] and friel is up there as well chapman who has is catching up now in the 13 car it's the 39 on screen but it is in the 13 car meanwhile back in the field the top three in points powell [Music] one sheridan blister takes the lead lake looking to pick the boats coming up on the inside as well and spins in a world of trouble jason lister that 11's on rails right now folks but he goes a little high and lake trying to take advantage of the four they're all late in one move but smith he's not ready to give up his question yet lister's falling back that's friel let's go to the replay top left this is coming into turn three smith in the 39 lister in the 11 lake in the 77. a little bump there on this fifth machine lifts her to the inside and when eventually take the lead in a matter of a lap folks jason litzer went from second to first back to third in one lap give me a real dogfight coming up here now lister is down to six spot as uh chapman and morneau have gotten by the eleven machine along with patrick creole joined and look there's lake and chapman looking to try to make a move [Music] moreno jr gets past lister and mordor junior is going to try and make a move to get back into the way yeah lindster had already been passed a couple of laps ago by morneau friel and chapman joy as listeners falling back now sheridan's all over leader cole powell something's happened to that eleven machine that eleven machine was on rails five laps ago and now he's just falling falling all the way back there he is on the high side now a critical jason lipster something's wrong with that 11. vertigo is going to need every spot he can get like i said battling for that rook in the year spot he wants it badly sharing it to the inside and we're at all for fifth here comes the 52 the 51-73 are carving up this field chavin gets through chapman's into third side by side for third through three and four chapman inside of freel there's sheridan in the 52. [Music] right now the 52 the 51-73 right there on your screen coming through the field like a house of fire the top three in points coming they still gotta fight through some people but they also fight each other they're not a team they're not trying to work together oh but you know what robbie and powell are because if i'm wrongly and i'm power i'm letting jake sheridan mow the field down for us we'll just follow him through those two cars unofficially [Music] let him do the dirty work for you that's right you have the card you have the pace to pick the bones afterwards let him fight for you [Music] all that battling that only helps lake who is opening up a tremendously of powell for now as they're behind chapman for third 19 a goal splitting them you could tell he was very motivated after getting dumped last week putting a lot of pressure on the drill now [Music] very important segment of this race for the 73 points that are cole powell he's three car leagues behind wrongly he needs to get up to romney and sheridan because if those two get by chapman chapman will fall in line in front of [Music] and all this is helping lake because lake is trying to extend his lead but now he's under pressure from smith who has not fallen off at all brady just turned to 9.01 daryl laker 19.11 there's the battle for third down the back champion in the 13. sheridan 52 probably in the 51. coming [Music] 19.103 both the leaders [Music] either way [Music] 18.942 [Music] is the five machina jacobs is battling with that card now they're gonna separate themselves oh great job by the 94 to go down on the apron david patrick letting the leader through meanwhile so peyton jacobs is trying desperately not to get lapped and lake is gonna get through but not without a fight and that helps brady smith a touch about six car links back now shared it to the inside of chapman for third chapman's gonna use the five jacob's machine as a pick great work by the 13. this entire chapman race has been a master class of defensive driving [Music] eight laps to go now brady smith after whit lying and wait all race is going to try and make a move on lake to try and pick up and probably yeah smith has closed the battle he beat lake by three tenths of a second last lap either lake is falling off or smith is driving a race i think lake might be falling off joey battle for the lead down the back battle for third nose to tail also down the back of the turn three this is gonna go down to the end absolutely [Music] lake's gotta hope and prey and beg for clean race because he has been in front this entire way on the strength of other people doing his defense for him let's go split screen one more time rogers tv battle for third top left better for the lead bottom right out of turn four they're only about four car lengths from each other both these groups [Music] chapman's not giving up yet he's staying with them contact [Music] chavin can't hold on for my progress contact between sheridan and rolly there's paul powell there as well four cars battling for a third now sheridan's not thinking third anymore he's thinking second he's singing first does he have to uptight one of the fastest cars in the future the 52-inch does he have enough time that everything stays clean let's time daryl lake and sheridan this time by lake the leader sheridan in third top flip to your screen wrongly wants it leading back coming out of four last lap brady smith trying to make a move now [Music] lake kenny hold on [Music] oh my goodness he's gonna come down the last corner sarah lake he's gonna hold on flag to play daryl getting knocked down [Music] daryl lake stopped in the high side of turn two as the rest of the field will go into the pits i i wonder if he's just letting everyone through or if he had to drag the car over the line because he lost so much time in the last couple of laps i think he's just gonna come this way along the fans he wants to have the driver's side along the fans he's going to wave to the fans the windownet is down he's going to do the allen kawiki victory lap in reverse to to be the driver's side along the fans daryl lake your late model feature race winner tonight brady smith second jake sheridan third matt robley fourth and what a great run for chapman in the 13 holding off cole power for fifth the swagger you want the driver's side on the fan side i love it it's the alakawiki victory lap i don't know if you know who that was but that's who started it south of the border driving in reverse so the driver side would face the fans absolute master class uh shout out to jaden chapman he is able to hold on to the fifth yes defensive that entire way i don't i don't know if i've ever seen someone defend two super quick cars for basically the entire race but there's darryl lake he walks home with the win beautiful drive held off brady smith at the end there who who seemed to be the fastest he's ever been yeah and it would be interesting to see if we had five maybe ten more laps if uh to see if sheridan and robbie had something for the leaders they just couldn't get by jayden chapman in time uh to uh pose uh some sort of attack on the leaders they would have to get by brady smith to even get to daryl which would have been difficult myself daryl lake late model feature race winner climbing out of the 77 and we will take you like trying to hold off that pressure in the closing stages there huh i have my best friend gary up there talking to my ear the whole time he was driving last year he's a pretty good shoe so he's coached me through the whole thing and he kept our back end clean and we did what we needed to do tonight a huge victory for you anyone you want to thank here tonight absolutely i mean we wouldn't be home darrell for quite a few years from my time here at the speedway and yeah there's not a better way to uh build off uh a disastrous evening like he had last week than to uh go flight the flag sweep the heat and the feature race uh the following week so congratulations to daryl getting ready for the ontario sportsman series uh joey uh and take us through the field my friend chad mcglinn is gonna lead he had an absolutely electric qualifying so he will start this one off the behind him is the 13 car of brad collison uh behind that is the 15 car that is mike i need you to help me with this last name i forgot i've been told former rogers willow mike herniac uh former rogers broadcaster there you go long time viewers might recognize uh behind them number 31 of kevin gallat uh behind that the number 90 of david rockwood who also had a really nice qualifying session but fell off at the end the 75 of kevin lay behind him uh and then the number two todd shepard who led the first qualifying session but was the second qualifying session was much better uh behind that the third the number three of tim tolton the number 18 of chad uh sorry number 19 of kevin uh behind them a little bit behind is that 79 looks a lot like a 19 so that's probably going to confuse us at some point i thought it was a 19 the heat race that's actually 79 joey right yes there is a 19 the white body is the 19. the red and black cards 79. yes sir uh behind that is the 56 of sam fellowes uh if you recognize that name uh ron fellows um canadian motorsport hall of famer uh his son this is this is his son runs his dad yes yeah ron doing some work in uh the nascar cup series back in the day especially uh they called him the rogue chorus ringer uh he would go in and do some uh racing for the teams down there also an american le mans legend uh and then behind that is the o2 car of brandon patrick so a teammate of mark patrick who is a little bit higher up in the field so that should be a fun one the ontario sportsman series making a stop on their tour at the delaware speedway we're gonna go 50 laps here folks uh live here on rogers tv thanks for joining us on your friday evening [Music] brad collison with a dream start he's pulling away yeah what a great start on the high side the top three trying to get away go on third we got a caution on the speedway i did not see what happened i don't see a car down there i don't see anything in three and four one and two look good don't they join so maybe collison jumped the gun on the start that's the only thing i can think of yeah so maybe the start but let's have a look at the start maybe this is why carlson got the start that he got coming out of turn four call us in the 13 oh he jumped that big time he had a full he had a car length and a half with the stripe uh and scott mackey without hesitation says boyce re-rack em stack em we're gonna do it again so we're gonna do one more lap under yellow that there is no official completed lap so we're just redoing the race more or less no changes in the order so collison's just got to be more cognizant of where uh mcglynn is on the track with mclin as mentioned with we saw him in qualifying he was a rocket wasn't he yeah these guys raced last week at the sabo speedway jason parker taking a win kevin gallon finished second uh jake zevenbergen finished third michael herniac jr fourth chad mcglynn finished fifth that was at the sabo speedway last week and parker and zemenberger not here not here this week uh not able to make it also not able to make it number 44 bradley robinson who literally on the way here had to pull out because the car wasn't wasn't uh drivable so here we go pace car pits here we go that's gonna be legal i think that's gonna be legal scotty's going to keep them going under green here but mclin will get the lead back galad to the inside that's mcglynn mcglynn in the lead yep mclean collison and gallant trying to get away kevin malay number 75 currently lead lay i think has a great shot to catch the leaders here also we're gonna spin the threes around into turn three and we're gonna have a caution here on the speedway he came down to the inside it collided with the 90 machine david rockwood so the three and the 90 get together i was literally my mouth was making the sound tim tolton has a chance here and then as i was saying that tim totten spins out love that paid scheme one of the uh fabled the paint team of the uh late great dale earnhardt senior the red number three with the black base trip let's go to the replay this happening in turn three told on the high side the 90 on the inside there on the back stretch they're gonna go great run by tolton now oh and he had to hit the brakes early the 15 might have checked up he lost the back end and slid right into the 90. he maybe wasn't expecting the 15 to break as early as he did for the entrance to turn three lost the back end so the difference between the weeklies and tourings is one of them the weekly series guys are here practicing like they're here racing week after week the touring series guys they're not used to racing on an egg yeah familiar familiarity yeah absolutely they're familiar with the the way the intricacies of the delaware speedway for sure and the issue with that one is maybe tolton didn't know where the breaking line was or maybe herniated yeah all they had tonight was practice and a five lap uh qualifying session that was it so it looks like we're gonna get set once again so we have uh one lap completed and two cautions if that doesn't sound like it makes sense to you it does kind of because we didn't complete the first lap on the first caution and we only completed it one lap for the second caution so one lap done but two cautions so we will re-rack him for the uh for the second time this is gonna be i can already tell this is gonna be a very strange race but i'm so excited pace cars coming in coming around turn four oh maybe he's trying to bait call us now here we go and that's the third time carlos has beat mcglinn of the stripe i wonder if mcglinn was trying to bait a penalty out of carlos in there looking three wide for a moment there battle for the lead top left gallon has a chance to pick up number two here oh there's a big big [Music] that's the 79 of tabor who had some issues there sorry that's the 19. the 90 losing it on the back stretch he banged the wall four times but still stays in the gas how is he still driving around he hits that outside wall three times a lot of cars aren't especially with each track that is delaware speedway but glenn's stretching his legs galon trying to catch him the 75's off the pace 75 might have a tire going down lane might have a tire going down off the pace and turn three and four i think it's the back left but he's gonna stay up there he's not gonna fit he was wiggling all the way down the back stretch maybe he felt he had a tire going down he remains at speed sorry joey the uh four tolton is now making his way through the back markers trying to rejoice [Music] there's your third place battle right there the third team at columbus and the 15 are hernia junior karniak jr looking the inside of the 13 to no avail nose to tail third all the way to sixth as you see on your picture right there [Music] great speed shot at the strike 44 to goal oh going high shepard's got a chance now they're still trying to find that breaking line no one's really sure when you come in it seems like turn three is giving all the cars the most trouble [Music] [Music] might have got into it with herniac junior we might have a replay on that we'll have to wait and see but an incident happening here on lap number seven over on turn one the exit into turn two which is basically the same thing six laps complete three cautions [Music] we got a black flag for the 15 of mike herniak jr that didn't take long scott mack in a flag stand bringing up the black flag let's go to the replay this happening in turns and this is coming out of turn four it's hernia junior in the 15. it's calls in the 13. now the 15 looking down low we're coming into turn one carlos is going to drop down and contact with the right front of the 15 machine is that black flag worthy i don't know i don't know i thought collison came down on him the call was made pretty quick they do have spotters but i thought collison came down on him in turn one and i thought that uh herniak jr uh was just holding the line but that's why we're up here and we're not in the flagstand and calling this race and i don't mean scott mackie i mean there is a race director for the ontario sportsman series uh giving instructions asking scott mackey what did you see scotty scotty would relay the info back and then the race director would make a call here we go again the 15's got the inside line going into turn one he'll hold the line now it looks like he kind of went high so i don't know like the 13 looked like he came down but then the 15 to herniate junior looked like he maybe could have started turning a little earlier once again that's why we're up here so they're going to hold the 15. we've yet to see if that's a disqualification black flag or if that's a go to the back black flag which i suppose is just a penalty flag yeah he if it was a disqualification flag uh he wouldn't have re-entered the track joey yeah they're going to put him at the back of the lead lap one lap down it's a one lap penalty if i'm not mistaken question is i didn't see calls to come into the pits and do any repairs did he yes okay so 50 caution rate right now in this feature uh which means in the 50 lap feature uh we hope to be home by last call pull up a chair this might be a bit but it's going to be absolutely insane for the entire way chad mcglynn has the lead kevin gallant second honey is outside we have the two of todd shepard inside row number two let me tell you oh good good uh return by tim told in the three car he's outside row three that was quick the 19 kevin trevlin will start outside shepard comes in here we go who gets free jump are you kidding me that was huge i wonder if that's the thing that mcglynn's doing intentionally trying to bait out a penalty if he was doing it intentionally he wouldn't be in third spot caution we're gonna re-rack him this has got to be a re-rack i don't see anything on the track yeah galon beat mclin to the stripe by two car lengths if i'm not mistaken here comes the point from scott mackey the warning sign watch this restart this is ridiculous wow the 18 is the control car 31 beats into the line by two car length and a half like i said that happened with two separate cars now so i wonder if that's intentional it can't be intentional the 18 is the control card the 18 is slowing the field on purpose yes that's what i'm saying but he's not letting the other cars go on purpose he's keeping it slow on purpose he wants to restart when he wants to restart and the outside guy doesn't want to restart at that time yes period that's what i'm saying so so he is their control car and he gets to start whenever he wants exactly at the restart zone one lap to go here six laps complete you have to be absolutely sure this time and there's a restart cone about 50 yards after the exit to turn four there it is right there so when mclin gets to that cone he can mash the gas any time between that cone and the stripe at the flank stand it's pretty simple he wants to control the field he doesn't want to have them start until he darn well wants to period exactly and now he's he's baited two cars out of it so now he's got to make everyone in the field think this is you gotta follow me it happened again happen again well scott mackie kept this green last time he threw the caution halfway through the back stretch hell shepherd wouldn't run but he almost lost another two and we'll stay green i think they were waiting to see mcglynn would hold the lead for the lap he did so we'll stay green now shepard shepard comes into second now let's shepard and travel in and gallant has lost it now traveling's up in the third yeah kevin traveling up to third now goloth the fourth and here comes timmy tolton to fifth in the red number three what a recovery drive obviously the yellow flags help but you can't can't rely on yellow flags you've got to drive and he is absolutely on one race yeah he was just loose on it too almost lost it again the field needs to get into comfort right now they need to get into a group they've got three cautions and seven laps this has been a bizarre race so far as now everyone's starting to find their group but there's been so much contact this race even just racing incidents that i can't imagine we get out of this without at least two more 40 laps sorry 39 laps to go but glenn opening his lead a bit more you know who doesn't want another yellow as mcglinn because he's had to deal with so many starts and that takes so much out of you to have to run those starts great recovery by junior there you see him in the 115 up tonight already from the restart he started at the back of the pack [Music] so mcglinn has the lead shepard behind him traveling behind him and then we got a sizeable gap and then tolton now told his gonna make a move and lays there as well as a 75. this could be something loose he saves it and he's gonna try and make a move anyway there's the battle on a turn two up the delaware hill down the back stretch galot and tolton and lay just behind them 31-3-75 working their cells out of turn four and by them another close races collison and rockwood who were involved in the earlier incident are now matching themselves together again and more contact again collison is all over rockwood or the other way around since collison's ahead of rockwood that is correct and the leaders now negotiating the traffic at the end of the lead knob they'll get on the high side of the 0-2 of brendan patrick todd shepard gets a good exit [Music] but kevin does not and he's held up for a little bit there top left that was your battle between paulistan and rockwood let's go back to the lead the 18 mclin leading the two a shepherd last time shepherd two one hundredths of a sec sorry two tenths of a second faster than the leader shepard's making up a lot more time this has been shepard the last couple lasts have been shepherd's quickest but he still has neil catchment here's collison in the 13. the last lap we got rockwood behind him a little fishtail lap of the race so far has been mcglynn's 13th which was a 20.35 yeah shepard is there oh my goodness three tenths of a second faster for shepard [Music] but it is still a race no one's pulled away but still it's not like he's put up an insurmountable gap they have two separate battles that they're gonna have to negotiate about a half a straight away ahead of the leaders as foreign to the left are battling 29 laps to go now there may be some problems as now the last of the lead lap has to deal with let's take a look at tolton there's the red number three scaling through one of them that's the 75 of kevin lay it looks drivable though i think he's just letting cars by we will see i did not see what happened but it's kevin lay oh and that's a shame because kevin lay was up he was battling he's battling back after a really slow start so that's our fourth caution in 21 laps of this 50 lap feature and like we were talking earlier do you think it's just that these guys aren't familiar with the unique layout of delaware i think part of it is i think you know you can only have so much practice uh when you come to delaware speedway on a touring night um and then you're at speed you're dealing with traffic you know sometimes on one lap you'll hit your marks on the next lap you'll be a little late hitting your marks on corner entry and corner exit they also got to remember they qualified and they practiced in the daylight so the track was hotter and slicker now we're under the light the track is cooler which means there's more grip so it's definitely a different different handling track now than when they first got on it earlier today so it looks like kevin ley's car survived that he's going to rejoin the race but at the back uh and worth noting right at the end there the um right before the yellow came out the last two on the lead lap were able to pass uh the o2 of patrick which means everyone's on the lead lap except for patrick so it is now really anyone's race and now we've got another restart with mcglynn as the control car yeah and a new bridesmaid on his outside and this time it's shepard and you've got to know that like shepherd's spotters have to be screaming his ear do not go until he goes he's gonna try it and they're not familiar they're not comfortable or familiar with the cone because they're already accelerating way before the cone the cone is right there and actually that's a good start shepard with a really nice start and oh my gosh oh what a top over what a play what a crossover side by side down the back wow that could be the move of the night that was beautiful and we had a close-up on it at the time how on earth shepard survives it and he's got a chance here oh he goes a little loose when he saves it and now he's flying kevin traveling now all over mcglinn what a play by todd shepard 27 to go [Music] shepherd and mcglinn in your screen that's first and second trevling in third gallon fourth and tolton has recovered now to fifth kevin d'amour has issues i think kevin moore lost the tire here we go this could be the move tonight high side and turn one and crossing over and just here it is high side in turn one in the turn two underneath the 18 and a great drive off eventually getting shepard to lead and while you're gone the glenn takes it back on the inside and there was contact shepard had to slow up to straighten that car [Music] so now it's a 10-car length lead for mcglinn again and shepard's gonna have to fight all over there is some absolutely but the way that deuce was wiggling in turn four there might have been no i the track is a little rough and they're just at the exact same spot tolton also left though golden was in turn three and shepard wasn't turned four no shepard did it again he also we got up front mcglinn he's lost a lot of his lead but [Music] he's last time by joey just a 1 000 of a second difference an opening for shepard now to close the door a little bit inside he's catching now in third and makes a really nice pass shane side on top shepard is catching him at 10th faster last time by here they come to the strike 20 to go and again shepard went a little loose out of turn one into turn two it's a two horse race plain and simple they got almost a full straightaway lead on dalot in third and in third gallon is gonna be under pressure from traveling in total has come out of nowhere to make this a really close battle with traveling before fourth absolutely inside on fourth you see it on your screen there tolton kenny it through no he cannot there's hernia junior where'd he come from i'll tell you where he came from the back of the field on an absolute bender here not yet but he's got the pace both leaders last time by almost identical lap times collison is there as well traveling that headed here we'll get to the replay and tell you how the 19 trying to get around him the three was loose again minus the second or third time the three has been loose over there hang really loose on corner exit on a turret too but collison in the 13 couldn't take advantage that number three of tolton has had a couple of different places but they're all it's either out of turn one or out of turn two where he's had some issues yeah the only one that caused the caution was in turn three the leaders have over a straightaway lead on third place galon right now his fourth dramatic exit in the future i think that time he may have had contact from prevalent let's take a look why no no no he's just way too hot he's just he's just way too hot contact was after he was already going sideways through the turn you are absolutely right yeah he was way too hot that threes to tim trying to really get going here but he was way too hot doesn't look like he can get re-fired i don't know if i've seen a car that quick fight fight its driver that hard at delaware i don't know if i've ever seen that he's he's been so fast yet he's been fighting his car this entire way and his night might be over yeah i don't think he can get the three refired last lap time uh shepard was uh faster than mclinn by another tenth this is gonna be a full re-rack this is gonna be exciting now with 15 a goal and yep they're trying to just push holton's car into a position where he can move again and they might have to push it or toe at home so that opens the door a lot for todd shepard who had lost a lot of time to mcglynn that's right you know that also opens the door for is kevin gallant absolutely correct yes absolutely this restart is going to be exciting that's for sure and once again it's mcglynn who is the control car yeah so there's been some drama at the front here's a replay again here's the three at tolton hill is gonna come win way too hot to turn one there goes the back end the passenger side window's gonna lead that car through the turn and a little contact there with the 19 and he'll go around yeah he was spinning before the turn even came up he just he just lost it there was no contact whatsoever until after the fact he just absolutely lost it eagle eye there from chris soares there to spot that uh the last couple of laps uh and yeah they're gonna have to push tolton back home his night is over oh we got a smoker in turn three it's the 13 of collison he's into the grass he's gonna stop right in the grass between three and four and we're gonna see this and said carlson has just put himself in the grass oh my gosh yup they need to they're gonna have to get the cruise over there because that car might be on fire here comes the safety crew right now in the side by side what on what on earth when do you collide i don't know if this collision or maybe the car might be overheating and just couldn't be controlled i'm not quite sure either way uh it looks like tolton's gonna rejoin the race somehow but collison is or yeah colson is absolutely not going to be able to wow hope you're enjoying your friday night folks you don't want to miss rogers tv at delaware speedway a week from tonight man do we have a card for you on july the 30th the super stocks they're going to be back with a 50 lap special feature the v8 stocks are returning after a couple after week off uh the bone stocks and the ever popular spectators race king of the hill it's making its return twice this year and the first time is next friday night racing starts right here on rogers tv at the 7 30. if you don't know what king of the hill is it's pretty simple you take that car that you drive every day on the road you drive it into the speedway you go one on one with another vehicle if you win you move on if you lose you're done that's the king of the hill it's a spectator's race it is great we are still waiting for an official word on if our rogers mobile unit is going to enter uh we were going to be following that story as it develops later this week but yeah you don't want to miss it next week 7 30 on rogers tv super stocks v8 stocks him he stepped out of the cards to wipe down his windshield so he could see a bit better i thought that i didn't i thought there was something going on with the windshield fogging up i didn't think it was the track lights but i wasn't sure so i didn't say anything about it but yeah he stepped out with i why did he have a cloth in his in his car he stepped out with the cloth and started wiping it down i have i have never seen that i have never ever ever seen that dale earnhardt senior did it uh way back in the day driving the blue and yellow wrangler number three they were under caution and he got out of his seat sat on the window window edge and wiped down the driver's side front windshield while under caution unbelievable and brad carlson did it but i also did it just waiting to get a push back home uh they are going to have to really take a look at that car because i have no idea what caused that and i don't know if collison does 35 complete 15 to go i think this is our fifth caution fifth or sixth caution in 35 laps in the touring ontario series so after that mechanical failure we're about to reset here um mcglynn again the story of the night really has been my glenn's control car has it not of the restarts either that or the uh the continued uh intention to be on tonight's rogers tv highlight reel by number three tim tolton so they're doubling up here looks like we'll have one more lap under caution the folks in the truck could fill up an entire highlight reel tonight on the adventures of the number red three also the num also number three red sorry also the number two green has also made some really interesting and really difficult passes uh those two the two lowest numbers uh aside from the zeros uh in this race have had some real adventures haven't they yeah but on totally different ends of the scale the two's actually been able to stay going straight the three hasn't been abso absolutely yeah the two has made the top ten the red has made the other top ten it looks like we're gonna do one more lap under yellow maybe two as we're still trying to figure everything out definitely two because the lights are still on the track and on the pace two with a blanket here as they come out of turn two there's your lead battle 18 and the two they're trying to get away they had an over straightaway lead on the third 31 gallant in third before we went to caution so colland trying to scrape and claw his way and not get lost behind again mcglynn and shepard still battling there's gonna be a fight for fort there there it is your battle for fourth down the back top left of your screen mcglynn the leader bottom right now we go back to the battle for fourth oh rockwood rockwood gets through what a great pass by rockford clean overtake right there on the entrance of turn four shepherd almost hit the wall out of turn two wow his corner exit was totally off the racing line but managed to save it he's still not far back from the glades [Music] there is no guarantees yet anyone on the on the track right now could go podium there's your leaders negotiating turns one and two ten laps the goal of the clinton up the hill down this back stretch shepard and toes and galot and rockwood's now caught galon so high side for third there's the battle top left corner rocklin you're a madman oh he's almost got it great defensive driving there from gallant rockwood's going to try it again he's not letting them leave brockwood looks really fast right now wow oh he bumped the wall rock would bump the wall slightly but he didn't lose any speed [Music] there's your battle for third so enjoy brockwood in the 90 down the back ate the goal and there's your leaders on a turn four mclin and shepard [Music] mcglynn's starting to run away of it but shepard isn't ready to give it up just yet he's still hanging in there we got seven left to go here this is gonna go down to the final battle for these podium spots oh rockwood again he's gonna go the outside that's his spot battle top left hand for a third galon inside of rockwood side by side of the strike oh this is gonna i don't know if this gonna work they're still side by side and rockwood lost it a little he's got to regroup turn three's his his spot this is where he's made all his passes that traffic has opened the door for shepard up in first but not quite enough he's still got some room to go five laps to go yeah the leaders are a good five and a half seconds ahead of third place galon it's a full straightaway here at delaware oh in third and third rockwood oh he just barely is held off by galon 46 complete quarter goal this is going to come down to the wire and in fifth place there he is it's the 15 of mike herniak jr had an incident went to the back of the field and now he's fought his way to fifth rockwood oh they make contact slightly but he's able to save it to launch what a really nice drive by galon shepard's within two and a half garlics now with mcglinn [Music] two laps to go here in the sportsman series for third you see it on your screen now they have not given each other a centimeter of room to breathe watch here turn three this is where rockwood likes to make his moves there we go last lap for mcglinn there's the battle for third on a turn four they'll take the white flag now the glenn he's only increasing his lead unless shepard can make some sort of crazy move here it's mcglinn's race to lose and mcglynn is going to win this race rock going in turn three for third can he get three side by side for a third and a four it's going to act it's gonna be rockford oh how on earth did rockwood do that he steals the last podium spot oh they're gonna oh i thought they had a little bit of extra they did they did just slightly row dave rockwood what a fantastic outer line pass on a turn four of gallon to take the final podium position so there is your podium number number 18 chad mcglynn almost flagged a flag but dang he made it exciting uh the number two todd shepard finishes number two and david rockwood can you believe that the number nine he picks up third point so here we go we're about to talk to the winner chad mclean and what a drive chad mcglynn had what a beautiful qualifying session and he's able to capitalize on that and turn it into a win what a fantastic night of racing it's been what a textbook educated teaching tool chad mcglinn did on restarts hey you guys want to jump go ahead we're going to re-rack them again i'm going to start this when i want to after i get to the cone it's my race to start and uh he was textbook for sure exactly we've been talking about that all season when with that restart rule are these guys gonna try and slow it down and take the start when they want to and the first guy we've seen it this year is chad mcglinn and he absolutely did it perfectly chad mcglinn not just a great drive not just a great car but a great strategy as well [Music] he is your ontario sportsman is serious a feature winner the ontario sportsman series is touring around obviously our province and stopping near delaware speedway mcglynn will take the win so we're about to send you trackside as mcglynn is just soaking in the moment getting ready to exit his car and all running down the uh standings one more two or not standings the finish one more time chad mcglenn takes the win todd shepard in second david rockwood in third kevin glenn fourth mike herniak jr in fifth kevin traveling in sixth tim told me we were talking about him all night he was able to survive and finish seventh sam fellas finished in eighth let's go down to a victory lane with chad mcglinn i mean we're gonna start you had radiator issues earlier on in the day um restart seemed to be a big issue were those two things linked up i know that the restarts uh on our rj trucks uh kilton inc mustang here were mostly due to slipping clutch i couldn't get on it the clutch would slip and i couldn't keep up to the guys on the uh on the restarts i would have liked to get a little bit more bite coming out of the corner too but that's as fast as the car would go in the condition it is we'll have to come back to the next one in peterborough and get her hooked up you had an incredible qualifying run obviously first five ten laps you were able to stretch out a pretty decent lead um was the car all right on the long run or did you feel like it started to slip later on the car was pretty good it was starting to get a little bit uh a little bit pushy at the end there but i was worried the two was going to get us but we just managed to hold them off we had a good race there uh had a lot of fun tonight i want to make sure i thank all the fans that made it out all the fans that came out to see us run i night of racing it was everything all at once yeah a great uh evening of entertainment here at delaware speedway and it all started with the 35 lap feature for the super stocks and like we say at each and every week here the super stocks are going to be a fantastic division they have been for a few years and they were again tonight great battle at the front between trevor culver and andrew pereira eventually won by culver they both had contact with each other two separate times in the future pete vanderweist making his super stock debut this year in the seven finishes third nick ramsey fourth david mccullough nice rebound from a very poor heat result uh ryan bright ryden lapsovich dyson stewart mcnichol jr who was battling for the lead early but finished his 10th uh super stock great feature uh won by culver over ferreira yeah that call for ferreira battle went right to the stripe it was i don't know if i've ever seen anything like that it was just absolutely incredible just the entire way it was those two and those two alone and right to the stripe it was incredible absolutely so let's go over the second feature we had the late models uh and that one just added to the chaos added to the craziness what a fantastic race it was from an entertainer's perspective but the drivers probably they were uh stressing out a lot yeah well let's uh we had some heat races with the pro late models we've got highlights for you uh the late model is a great show and there it's daylight at delaware speedway a quick incident turn one you notice the 96 mark jacobs getting through on that incident this one he does it lit sturt and smith on the outside brady smith contact battle for the lead and the jade 43 machine goes up underneath the fitzpatrick machine there's the 96 getting involved another look at it fits patrick in the 84. rawlings now watch the 43 right up the hood of the 84 fitzpatrick machine after contact with lipster and that was about a 23-minute delay under red flag conditions earlier today uh and uh but that was the feature this was the feature the feature finishing order daryl lake taking the feature after being knocked out of the race last week he won his heat race he won the feature brady smith was the second jake sheridan finished third robley chapman cole powell the points leader coming into tonight finished sixth conor critical frieil mourinho and jason lister rounding out the top 10 for the pro late models tonight lincoln smith had a fantastic drive rob lee uh you mentioned was absolutely on rails last couple laps but was held up by chapman so that was a fantastic race there and then that was a great race we had maybe the most chaotic race of the season after that which was the sportsman race there was what what do we end up with six cautions yeah six or seven cautions but there were uh three cautions in the first six laps so we're on a very uh poor 50 tilt uh here's some highlights here from the sportsman series herniak jr tolton uh a little issue tolton broke a little too hard there maybe the 15th checked up he goes around that was the first of maybe five six uh exits uh causing cautions for the three car uh here's contact in turn number one uh 15 herniak junior involved in eric collison as well here's a beautiful crossover this was for the lead by shepard he took the lead at the time a couple laps later mcglinn in the 18 took the lead back but that was the best pass of the night by far another dramatic exit for the three uh this time in turn one going in much too hot lost the back end he couldn't get it restarted we went under caution there for the uh sportsman series making a stop but delaware chad mcglynn is your winner todd shepard david rockwood round out the top three kevin gallant herniak jr their top five traveling tolton fellows patrick and brandon patrick round out your top ten ontario's sportsman series making a stop here at the delaware half mile fantastic that shepard pass i'm gonna see that in my dreams for the next week that was one of the most incredible plays i've ever seen here at delaware speedway that he was able to just fit a gap that was basically the size of his car it was just absolutely incredible so much so many memories from tonight that i'm gonna hold on for a long time yeah let's take a quick little break here and then we'll finish recapping right after this [Music]
