DAY IN MY LIFE | homemade pumpkin cream cold foam, tidying up, & date night! ✨

Hello friends good morning I hope you are well and having a good start to your day i'm excited to spend the day together I have quite the agenda planned yesterday i had a really good kind of computer day so i got a lot of editing and emails and just kind of admin work out of the way so today we can do a lot more fun things i still have a couple things i want to get done on the computer but i just have a whole list of things i want to do around our home so let me share what's on the agenda we have okay first and foremost i need to do a quick closet clean out i'm not gonna do anything major i'm not gonna go through every single piece but i'm just gonna kind of do an overview and pull anything that i know i want to give away because later this evening brandon and i are gonna have a little date night so we're gonna go get tacos it's taco tuesday so we're just gonna have a little dinner and then we're also gonna stop by goodwill because he has a whole bag of stuff that he's giving away as well so we want to get that out of the way and then we're going to go stop by our house build and kind of see what updates they've will progress they've made and just kind of check it out so that's the plan for later i'm really looking forward to that i hope it doesn't rain too much because it's actually super gloomy right now and summer in florida which we're almost to fall i'm so excited but summer in florida there's just always so much rain so hopefully the weather will be okay but i'm kind of liking this gloomy morning we're having so that's great and i also want to make homemade butternut squash soup for lunch so we're going to do that super quick like this morning because it's already let me see what time it is it's already almost 11 o'clock i've just been doing a bunch of other stuff this morning so yeah time is chicken so we're gonna do that because i have half of a butternut squash in our fridge because a few days ago i made homemade butternut squash ravioli which i vlogged in case you missed it so i want to make sure i use the other half of the butternut squash before it goes bad so we'll do that and then while we're doing that i also want to make homemade salad dressing so my mom she made homemade salad dressing and she just keeps it in a mason jar and i love that because i absolutely love homemade salad dressing with lemon apple cider vinegar garlic what else maybe some olive oil so i'm gonna do that and some spices and let me see oh i need to clean my makeup brushes and yeah that's pretty much it but this morning is going well i just had my quiet time and then i went on a walk with brandon and we're actually dog studying my mom's dog so you'll see her later she's so cute and we took her on the walk and we saw a rainbow which was just such a great start to the dye so we saw like the full rainbow we saw the end in the beginning so super fun and then i did a workout which always feels so great to get that done and i did a little computer work so it's a good start to the day and i can't wait to just spend the rest of the day together also i'm so thankful and excited to be partnering with native for today's video i've shared how much i love them in the past but in case you missed it native is my absolute favorite deodorant and i'll show you my favorite scent i have a few new scents that i'm excited to share but coconut vanilla is my absolute favorite scent it just smells so beachy and delicious and native deodorant is paraben and aluminum free which is so important because you are applying this directly to your skin so you definitely do not want those toxic materials seeping into your skin so i love that native uses safe and non-toxic ingredients and they're all listed very clearly on the back and it's made with love it says and i applied it this morning before my workout and i'm still smelling nice and fresh so even though it is a natural deodorant and they use those safe and quality ingredients it still actually works so i love that and i'm a florida girl like it is toasty so i've put name deodorant to the test but it works and seriously smells so good so i want to show you my other two scents that i got i have the cucumber and mint my goal is to try every single one of their scents someday because i just feel like they all smell so delicious this might be my second favorite it is just so fresh and clean smelling and the next one i'm really excited about is charcoal so it has this nice little gray tint but it doesn't make your armpit right don't worry and this smells so nice it's hard to describe what it smells like besides fabulous it just also smells so clean but a little bit more a mineral scent with maybe some citrus undertones i'm not an expert but it really smells so great i love how the texture of native deodorant isn't sticky and it dries super quickly and it's great for when you're on the go i also of course love their wide range of scents and again most importantly i just love how they are aluminum free paraben and sulfate free also just icing on the cake they are vegan and cruelty free as well so if you would like to try some native deodorant for yourself three so i'm gonna go put these away and then let's get cooking our butternut squash soup here is today's outfit of the day unfortunately i don't think anything is available anymore which i know is probably frustrating but if i see a similar kind of pieces i will link them below but i'm wearing this precious wildflower tea from princess polly and then this dress from princess polly as well it's super cute i got it last fall and i think this is a really nice transitional summer to fall outfit because it's super airy and you know not too warm of an outfit but it still kind of gives those fall tones so i love that and i'm just wearing my fuzzy slippers for now but i'll probably wear these boots later when we go on our date i cannot believe it's almost lunch time already so i'm gonna whip up the soup super quickly well hopefully i've never made it before so i'll link the recipe i'm following below but i'm kind of not gonna follow it exactly just because i don't have all of the ingredients she states and just to kind of flavor it to our preferences so i'll probably add some more red pepper flakes which i don't think there are any red pepper flakes but we love a little kick oh she has cayenne pepper so love to see it and this recipe calls for a whole butternut squash but like i said i only have a half so i'm gonna kind of condense this a bit but hopefully it'll be a nice cozy lunch for this gloomy day do so this recipe is actually calling to cook the soup in a slow cooker so a crock pot or something like that but the fastest way to even do that is gonna take three to four hours so my little fix for that is just to roast my butternut squash and then i will blend it up i don't have a food processor so i just always use our blender and it works perfectly fine and i'm just going to saute some onions some garlic and maybe some other spices in the dutch oven and then i will add in some milk and some vegetable stock and the pureed squash after that and so hopefully that'll be just fine because i'm kind of winging it at this point okay i just finished the homemade dressing and it is chef's kiss so good why does dijon mustard taste so delicious in dressing i would have never guessed that until i looked up a recipe i don't know six six months ago for like a mexican dressing homemade and ever since i've just been in love with dijon mustard in homemade dressing so i put all the ingredients but honestly i just eyeballed everything because i just like to taste it as i go until it's perfection so that's what i did and i can't wait to just have this in our fridge and whenever we make a salad just top it with the homemade dressing all right the butternut squash is looking muy bien oops it just fogged up the whole camera but it's looking okay let me see there we go it's looking nice and toasty and it softened quite a bit so i'm just going to blend it all up and in the blender i'm going to add some milk and vegetable stock maybe vegetable stock definitely milk but maybe some vegetable stock and i just have a garlic and then i'm gonna add a little olive oil and i have cayenne pepper red pepper flakes and sea salt and black pepper do okay let's give it a little taste test before i take it off the stove and pour it into bowls it doesn't really smell that great it doesn't really smell like much honestly so let's see hmm it's good it's nice it's not that bold of a flavor though it's really like it's pretty yummy though i'm just not like jaw on the floor in love with it i'm thinking it probably would be a lot more flavorful if i did cook it in a crock pot just so it had a lot of time to sit and all the flavors could just seep in and marinate but i'll just give it a couple more bites yeah it's definitely good and very cozy meal but it's just not that jam-packed flavorful soup i was hoping for so i'm thinking it might even taste better tomorrow after it kind of sits in the fridge for a little bit at least our leftovers but i'm going to make this each a little bowl and i'm going to top it with some pepitas and i think a little bit of hot sauce as well which by the way are so delicious i can just eat this whole box of them plain then our tapatio hot sauce our favorite hot sauce i also love cholula exciting a little bit of that and then a little bit of that oh that looks very beautiful i must say lunch is sad thank you baby you're probably gonna need more than just that but you gotta do a taste test give your honest opinion yeah it should be warm i mean i can warm it up more but i think it's warm at least she's not throwing it up it's not like super flavorful huh it's like a baby is it baby food he just called it baby food okay no no i think it's good i made it super creamy i like it creamy i can make it i can make it less creamy but i like it creamy good spice i like it okay you like it but not love it it's totally fine if you don't love it i don't know it's scared to hurt my feelings it's not gonna hurt my feelings i'm a big girl i really like it you really like it okay yeah it's great for the season too brandon always makes fun of me oh it's so bright come on camera he always makes fun of me because as soon as i like put my spoon or fork up to my mouth i either say or like immediately i know immediately if i love something um after i first take my first bite like i instantly know if i love it but brandon on the other hand he just leaves you hanging he like takes a bite and then 30 seconds later or more he's like okay he just has to think about it a little bit longer but to me i just know instantly you don't even know if you like it yes i do i do taste it i taste it super quick and i i taste with my how do you like that oh let me try it stop no i don't i put it in my mouth first drama he's so dramatic we're just gonna eat while we work so we can end our day earlier to go on our date so i have my soup and then i also have some cheese and crackers because soup alone never fills me up i have to like have something else along with it and i also have some celery for some veggies which i guess we have some veggies in here i'm pretty sure squash is a vegetable i'm actually not so sure about that let's get to the bottom of this it is a fruit butternut squash is technically a fruit now we know here is little jessie just living her best life on her staycation at our house i'm gonna take her for a long walk soon before the afternoon storm showers come all right jesse girl let's go for a walk she's actually kind of deaf well i think she's almost totally deaf she's an older dog she's 14 years old so her hearing is a little fleeting but she is still super happy and healthy so i'm gonna take her on a nice walk right now and i'm gonna go pick up a package as well i just got some really beautiful fall pieces in and i'll be doing a haul super soon in one of my vlogs but like i said before i can even hang up these new pieces i really need to do a little closet purge and find items that i want to donate and just clear out so i have my clothing rack in the corner and that stuff is all stained because those are just some of my favorite fall pieces but let's go check out the closet it's gotten quite messy in here okay so actually one thing i also want to do aside from just my clothes is clean our linen well it's within our only closet but um it's just like in this little corner let me show you i just have like a bunch of blankets and extra sheets and stuff here so i just kind of want to refold these i might do this after ice coffee time because this is going to be a project but before i make iced coffee i want to get this done and i'm just going to do a quick run through of all the hangers and see what i want to give away like this for instance it's one thing i definitely can give away like it's this cute kind of baseball inspired tee from forever 21 that i've probably had for i don't know eight years now and i never wear it so stuff like that it is just time to go so that is what we shall do right now oh all right i cleaned a bit of my closet i didn't go too crazy but i found something steve away so that is awesome and now it is iced coffee time and today's iced coffee it's gonna be extra special because i am going to make a homemade version of the starbucks pumpkin cream cold foam cold brew so i actually got this yesterday and we have some leftover in the fridge so we can kind of do a comparison taste test but what i'm going to do what i'm going to use to make it is this organic pumpkin pie mix you can use pumpkin pie i mean just pumpkin puree like canned pumpkin but my stores have been out of that so i just got the pumpkin pie one so it's a little sweeter because they added some nutmeg and cinnamon and cane sugar so i'm not gonna add too much of the vanilla syrup which is kind of what sweetens it so maybe a smidge of this i'll probably taste how sweet it is with just the pumpkin um and then add a little splash of the vanilla syrup and this is just the brand i have i've had it for almost a year now my mom gave it to me for christmas so it's lasted quite a long time and then the key ingredient is heavy whipping cream i have showed you guys before my favorite non-dairy creamer i'll just show you right now in case you missed it this is the favorite non-dairy creamer and they actually have a pumpkin spice flavor one of you guys actually told me about that and i really want to buy that soon but i think they have it at target but it's been out of stock so i have to keep my eyes peeled for that this one froths really well if you are vegan or just plant-based and you don't want the heavy whipping cream try this one but just for the sake of trying to get it as close as possible to the starbucks one i will be using this heavy whipping cream a little dash of vanilla oh that was pumpkin is kind of a lot for my frother to handle maybe i should have mixed it a little bit more it's not very orange i wonder if they add any artificial dye to the cream i can add another scoop of pumpkin but i have a silly idea which i really am curious if they add any dye because i mean this is very pigmented but it's not really showing up that much but i could add a little splash of turmeric to give it that orange color so i'll add a little bit more pumpkin and see what it looks like but to kind of add that vibrant orange color i might try the turmeric pack it's super thick but it's still not very pigmented so i'm gonna add a dash of this turmeric which i don't think will taste at all turmeric at least to me does not have that strong of a flavor maybe you can taste it a little bit but i seriously put such a tiny bit okay let's pour this over see what we're working with it does look more orange in the daylight but it might be something to do with my pumpkin pie puree wow this is thick my frother was really struggling and then they sprinkle some cinnamon on top so i'm gonna do that as well wow the thickness is a plus plus you can definitely say that all right let's do our taste test here is the starbucks coffee and honestly color looks exactly the same so i don't they probably don't add turmeric i think that was a little extra of me but it's pretty much the identical shade the light orange and even just the little textures and dimension it honestly looks identical so i'm excited to give it a taste here is a look at my cold foam and then here is the starbucks one again this is from yesterday so it's looking pretty much the same it did yesterday but just keep that in mind honestly they look like twins let's see how they taste so starbucks i'm gonna do ours first and then i'll do the starbucks one this one's probably gonna be way sweeter because i forgot to tell them not to add the classic syrup or whatever in the cold brew i actually prefer just the black iced coffee or the black cold brew with the cold foam on top because they just add some extra sugar in the cold brew that i really don't want so it will be a little sweeter i'm sure but let's just go for it i feel like i can't drink of it i can't drink out of the straw because like in this one you drink from the top so you can get the foam so take two that is pretty delicious i wasn't sure i wasn't sure honestly when i just tasted the foam on itself it just i think it wasn't frothed enough at that point so it was just kind of strange just the texture of it and my frother was struggling i think i'll use the one that i plug into the wall next time because the handheld one was just kind of a little overwhelmed with the thick pumpkin puree so i'm very happy i'm very happy it all came together with the cold brew and then the cream it's very complimentary and that's if i did get like too big of a chunk of the pumpkin because like i said my little handheld frother was just too overwhelmed so next time i definitely want to puree puree it or just blend it or frop it a bit longer so it's all really combined and creamy let's take a sip of this delicious but i honestly like this one more because it's not overbearingly sweet yay this was a success and i will be doing a another cozy fall drink video last year i did five different autumn inspired coffee recipes and this year i'm going to be doing a mixture of just like apple cider teas and coffee as well so i'll probably do an in-depth tutorial of how i make this as well and i'll just kind of make the measurements more concrete and perfect it a bit more before i film that video but i'm super excited to share that soon would you like to try a taste of the coffee yes it's the oh be careful with your computer it's the homemade don't use the straw actually because are you nervous i don't use this straw well because then you can't really taste the cold foam because when we get it from starbucks we get the you have you have a foam mustache does it taste similar to you yeah it does i like it yeah so it is a tiny bit chunky well like there's little bits of the pumpkin just because my frother was getting like overwhelmed with it was too thick for the handheld one so next time i'm gonna use the plug-in frother but it tastes pretty similar here let me get the starbucks one so you can see the i difference didn't see that much of the difference besides the fact that this one's like 10 times here because of the extra sugar and whatnot you like it yeah do you need like a cracker too clear your palate yeah it's pretty similar yeah and even the color looks so really sweet nicely done wow okay it really is not that much of a difference but i tidied it up a tiny bit i know these aren't facing the wrong way but honestly i just need to get some computer work done and this is an improvement so i'm satisfied to play a little bit aren't you look at that tail okay i wanted to ask you guys when you start christmas shopping i hung out with a couple friends last week and we started talking about christmas and christmas shopping and they said they already started christmas shopping and i just felt so overwhelmed because my head is not even there yet i am just my head is in pumpkin land right now and not christmas but honestly i do like to start christmas shopping early because i am someone who gets overwhelmed by just thinking and brainstorming of all the gifts i love to give the gifts um it's just like a little overwhelming especially with the move and everything like that so let me know what you guys think and if you have any christmas shopping christmas gift suggestions or tips because like since brandon and i got married well i've been buying gifts for his family for years because we've been dating for so long but there's just a lot of people to give gifts to which is such a blessing but i definitely want to stay on top of it we are enroute to our date night first stop is the house build um we're just gonna pop by see the progress and then we're gonna drop ourselves off at goodwill and then we will get tacos but i'm already really hungry so i'm excited for the taco portion of tonight's date night they started putting at the siding around our house and they have these huge contraptions to get up it's so fascinating to just watch this process brandon's always so fascinated with everything it's his engineering mind he just likes to check everything out and understand how it works oh you got tricks all right here we are inside all the drywall crazy all right upstairs we go oh it's hot up here my favorite kind of ice in the world this little pellet ice so so good we just got home from our date night and it was super nice saw the house went to goodwill and got a lot of yummy tacos and guac and queso and salsa the whole works and it was just delightful so now i'm just going to take jessie out for a walk she's so excited we're home and just take my makeup off take a shower and relax so that's the plan for the rest of the evening but thank you guys so much for spending the day with me and watching
